Notorious Hypocrisies

It's a common excuse used,
To say...
'Inappropriate conduct,
Is inexcusable in times lived today.'

Apologies are made,
By those with inflated egos.
Getting their ten to fifteen minutes of fame.
And displaying shameless antics.
With expectations,
To be forgiven for their public 'fits'.
And a degraded population sits,
In acceptance...
Of this unappetizing crockpot full of derangeness.

While those who participate,
Try to save their fates.
By the addressing of what agitates...
In suits and ties.
Hoping a forgiveness,
Will mask their lies!
Or disguise their attempts tried.

And it works!

(ooh ah ah ooh ah ah ooh ah ooh) [dahhhling - mmwah!]
[how dare you? do you know who I am? ]
[you look fabulous! - mmwah!]
I know what you think
Its clear as mud in your eyes
Were the plastic poseurs and prostitutes
Youve obviously come to despise
But you dont know nothing
Youre not hot enough to matter
You dont understand its the glamorous life
A dream that no one can shatter
Were shameless
We will do anything
To get our fifteen minutes of fame
We have no integrity
Were ready to crawl
To obtain celebrity
Well do anything at all
Im ambitious
Believe me, Im going to be big
Im a slave to glamour
Applause and clamour
My makeup, my wardrobe, my wigs
Dont call me pathetic
Im harder than youll ever guess
Relentlessly tough, for when the going gets rough
The tough get their picture in the press
Were shameless
We will do anything
To get our fifteen minutes of fame
We have no integrity
Were ready to crawl
To obtain celebrity
Well do anything at all
(anything, anything, anything at all)
(well do anything, anything, anything at all)
(well do anything, anything, anything at all)
(well do anything, anything, anything at all)
[its going perfectly alright]
[how dare you? do you know who I am? ]
[its an absolute disgrace]
Tell me you love me
Admit it, youre really impressed
Would it not amuse you
For me to seduce you
Have you ever seen me undressed?
Were shameless
We will do anything
To get our fifteen minutes of fame (give me fifteen minutes)
We have no integrity
Were ready to crawl
To obtain celebrity
Well do anything at all
Were shameless
We will do anything
To get our fifteen minutes of fame (give me fifteen minutes)
We have no integrity
Were ready to crawl to obtain celebrity
Well do anything
With anyone
Go absolutely anywhere
For anything
At all

Heaven And Hell

Fame costs - and right here's where you start paying
Have a drink - alcoholic
Grab a coat - shopaholic
Grab a bite - anorexic
Intellectual? i'm dyslexic
Feeling happy - could be gay
Maybe but not today
Right or wrong - either way
Whatever
So you think you want to be famous
So you think you want to drive my car
Don't you know you've gotta be shameless
Baby if you want to be a star
Ah ah
Ah ah
But i'm just a girl i wanna live for ever
I gonna to learn how to fly
Newsflash
Fifteen minutes to show me what you're made of
Fifteen minutes what are you afraid of
I've seen it done it you wanna know the trade-off
It's heaven - it's hell - being geri halliwell
Get a job get a car
Get a life get a face
Get get a god get a man
Get some love and lose some weight
Extra extra read all about it
So you know you wanna be famous
You keep on knocking but you can't get in
And once you get it how you gonna keep it
Don't you know its not enough to win
Newsflash
Fifteen minutes to show me what you're made of
Fifteen minutes what are you afraid of
I've seen it done it you wanna know the trade-off
It's heaven - it's hell - being geri halliwell
Fifteen minutes show em you can do it
Fifteen minutes are you gonna screw it
Seen it done it is there nothing to it
It's heaven - it's hell - being geri halliwell
I just want to be loved by you
I'm just a girl i wanna live for ever
I gonna to learn how to fly
Fifteen minutes to show me what you're made of
Fifteen minutes what are you afraid of
I've seen it done it you wanna know the trade-off
It's heaven - it's hell - being geri halliwell
The only difference between you and me is
You get deadlines and i get headlines
You're so hip it hurts
You like me - you really really like me

I Am A Man!

i never understood...
the need to be popular,
to be the 'in' thing,
to be cool, to be hip,
never understood the need
for fame...
never waited to be patted
on the back,
never wanted to be followed...

i am what i am!
nothing more, nothing less.
a common man,
with a common heart,
a common soul,
and common hard working hands.
i can honestly say
that i have lived,
i have loved,
i have given past
the point of giving,
i have tried my wings
on countless occasions...
many times i fell,
but a few times i have flown!
i have forgiven,
and asked for forgiveness.
i believe what i believe,
and have stood up in spite of.
i am a man!

Eternity

I was born on the banks of eternity
A page of the history it teaches
Not a care, lived my life like a hurricane
Leaving everything along the way in pieces
Some may have cheered, some may have wondered
If I am flesh, if I am stone
Thoughts of you tear through me like thunder
You are the light that has led me back home
Take me to the river, baby
Wash away the lies
Ive got no reputation living in your eyes
Take me to eternity
Let me bury this disguise
A southern boy has it harder sometimes
Its like you were climbing a razor
You were there when my dreams had all turned to dust
And the man in the mirror was a stranger
Look at me now, a soulless survivor
No mask can hide the man that Ive made
You ease my pain
Your make it silent
Slowly I feel it beginning to fade
I want to feel it
Rushing over me into the tide
I want to taste it
Every moment til the end of my life
I have laid still, adrift in you memory
Hoping your faith would erase all the years
Maybe some time, maybe some magic
Maybe your love will make everything clear
Take me to the river, baby
Wash away the lies
Ive got no reputation living in your eyes
Take me to eternity
Let me bury this disguise
Take me to the river, baby
Wash away the lies
There are no expectations hiding in your eyes
Take me to eternity
And let me bury this disguise

Whoa-oh, fame
They're takin' ev'rything an' twistin' it
Whoa-oh, 'fame' they're sayin'
Yeah, I never could have resisted it
What's in a name
And ev'rybody's jadded by fame
Whoa, fame again
The press has gone an' made another mess of it
Ho-oh, just because they've got so much invested in it
But they say you're to blame, it's your own fault
'Cause you've got mixed up in fame
Whoa, no don't believe all that
Old Andy Warhol guff!
It takes a lot more than ten or fiften minutes
That's just not enough
To qualifiy you for fame
Ya went beyond the boundaries of sanity
And ev'ryday you defy all the laws of gravity
Ya ain't got no shame
'Cause you're just addicted to fame
Alright
(Instrumental and guitar)
Whoa no, don't ya buy
None of that old Andy Warhol stuff-a
It takes a lot more than ten or fifteen minutes
That's just not enough
To qualify you for fame
They're already settin' up your own Watergate
Whoa-oh, fame
That stalker out there is just filled with hate
You'll never be the same
'Cause ev'rybody's corrupted by fame
Whoa-oh-oh-oh, fame
You took away all my humanity
Oh-oh, fame
Got to fight ev'ry second of the day for my dignity
You're suspectator's game
And there ain't nothin' fair about fame
Do it again
Whoa-oh
(Fame)
Whoa-oh
(Fame)
Say it again
Whoa-oh
(Fame)
Say it again
Fame
(Fame)
They say you're to blame
'Cause you got mixed up in fame.

On Broadway Entertaining Center Stage

I have a need to see my name in lights,
On Broadway.
And high as it blazes to shoppers...
Stopped on 5th Avenue.

I have a need to see my name,
On a theatre marquee.
And displaying what it is I do.

I want much more than 5 minutes of fame to claim.
Give me 15 minutes at least.
Give me 15 minutes to get folks on their feet.

I want much more than 5 minutes of fame to claim.
At least enough for people to spell my name.
At least enough to soak in,
Seeing my name spelled right in neon.
And me there on Broadway entertaining center stage.

Something That Justifies Your Nonexistence

I know you would love to excuse your abuses,
With apologies and visions of being reborn!

However,
During that period you inflicted your wickedness,
I lost dear friends and beloved family members.
And a life I lived,
In emotional turmoil.
For many years I lived like this.
And now you've come to wish for my forgiveness?
After your own bouts with guilt!

And I think to myself,
You'd be better off with a total disappearance.
Or something that justifies your nonexistence.

I don't even want what has been done discussed.
Those wounds have healed.
And not one thought will I allow you to occupy in my mind!
Not one!

Expectations

Now all the lies are beginning to show,
And youre not the country that I used to know.
I loved you once from my head to my toe,
But now my belief is shaken.
And all your ways are so untrue,
No one breaks promises the way that you do.
You guided me, I trusted you,
But now my illusions shaken.
Thought this empire would be here
At least a thousand years.
But all the expectations and aspirations,
Slowly disappear.
Now all the lies have gone on too long,
And a million apologies cant right the wrong.
Soldiers die but the lies go on,
But soon we will awaken.
In our expectations for the future,
We were not to know.
We had expectations, now weve reached
As far as we can go.
And all your manners are too, too polite,
Just to prove that your conscious is white and bright.
You had your day so get ready for the night,
For another dawn is breaking.
We had expectations, now weve reached
As far as we can go.

Bugging Out

Can you believe the speed by which people seem,
To be losing their minds today?
And the acceptance of it?
Can you believe this?

'Yes I can.
That's why I wear a rabbit's foot around my neck.
A four leaf clover attached to my lapel.
I pray with faith, meditate and do yoga too.
And with my fingers kept crossed,
I am hoping 'any' common sense I have...
Stays inside of me to be daily identified.

I am hoping not to be that one,
Trying to fit in or communicate...
With anyone I have yet met who I suspect has sanity left.
Or has an ability to think independently.
I hate to be disappointed.

These are dangerous times,
For anyone exposing they have a thought process.
And a mind unaffected by a dumbdowning done.'

So...
You feel you are kept protected?

'Sometimes, yes.
Especially when I begin talking to myself.
For some reason...
When people see me doing it,
They realize I am in conference.
Immediately people quiet themselves,
As if not to disturb me.
You should try that.
It works.'

No.
I don't want anyone to 'think',
I am bugging out.

'Is it peace you want to keep?
Or your pretentions? '

Beneath The Mask

Beneath the mask her wander lies
projecting an image for lovers eyes.
Such endless beauty my eyes behold,
under the mask she wears so bold

She hides behind her vain-full pride,
The twist and turn of storms inside.
She sits so still, so calm a girl
And guards with faith her hidden pearl.

Behold the mask covers her face
For between its cracks lies hidden grace
And beneath that mystic mask of wood
Lies secrets of a love so good

She needs to see through sudden glee
She needs not wear the mask for me.
In her glory I need to bask
For I love the girl who wear the mask.

Beneath the mask
There is a love and compassion
Inhibition and insecurities,
But there is also the girl I love

Devil In Disguise

(gram parsons/chris hillman)
Shes a devil in disguise -- you can see it in her eyes
Shes tellin dirty lies -- shes a devil in disguise -- in disguise
Now a woman like that, all she does is hate you
She doesnt know what makes a man a man
Shell talk about the time that shes been with you
Shell speak your name to everyone she can
Shes a devil in disguise -- you can see it in her eyes
Shes tellin dirty lies -- shes a devil in disguise -- in disguise
Unhappiness has been her close companion
Her world is full of jealousy and doubt
It gets her off to see a person crying
Shes just the kind that you can do without
Shes a devil in disguise -- you can see it in her eyes
Shes tellin dirty lies -- shes a devil in disguise -- in disguise
Her number always turns up in your pocket
Whenever you are looking for a dime
Its alright to call her but Ill bet you
The moon is full and youre just wasting time
Shes a devil in disguise -- you can see it in her eyes
Shes tellin dirty lies -- shes a devil in disguise -- in disguise

Reel Around The Fountain

It's time the tale was told
of how you took a child
and you made him old
Reel around the fountain
slap me on the patio
I'll take it now
Fifteen minutes with you
well, I wouldn't say no
people said that you were virtually dead
and they were so wrong
fifteen minutes with you
well, i wouldn't say no
people said that you were easily led
and they were half-right
I dreamt about you last night
and i fell out of bed twice
you can pin and mount me like a butterfly
but take me to the haven of your bed
was something that you never said
two lumps, please
you're the bee's knees
but so am I
Meet me at the fountain
shove me on the patio
I'll take it slowly
Fifteen minutes with you
oh I wouldn't say no
people see no worth in you
oh but I do

It Is Much Too Late!

It is much too late,
To remove that which has taken place.
While you were asleep,
And not in your mind 'awake'.
You devoured such a taste for hatred.
Served as you digested it...
From the plate.
And licking it clean after you ate!

Oh it is much too late,
To erase affects of disrespect.
Or to think forgiveness sits,
Ready to be given.
From those broken hearts intended,
Now too painful to mend.

It is much too late,
To appreciate those you were taught to despise.
Much too late,
To replace false images deceived by your lies.
It is much too late to fake an empathy for others...
When it has been known,
None you've shown.
Or attempts you could have tried.

It is much too late,
To remove what has already taken place.
And much too late to wait,
For an understanding to come...
From anyone who has suffered,
By those things you've done!

It is much too late!
For those apologies spoken,
To be believed by anyone.

May Initially Hurt From The Dirt Dispersed

Once a mistreatment
Of trust has been discovered done
That's it!
All the drama in the world displayed
Is not going to restore one's faith
In that which has been mentally used to abuse

Apologies given with the asking of forgiveness
Is something one wishes when caught
That's it!
And that's all that that is
Like a roach stunned when caught
By the instant glaring of unexpected light

Apologies snapped together quickly
Rarely can be associated with sincerity
Apologies snapped together quickly
Is a quick way to remove one's burden
From a feeling of guilt
What else can it be?
An invitation to have icecream and cookies?
This is doubtful

Suspicious feelings felt
Don't overnight fade away
In fact
One's decision to sever all ties
From someone like this that lies
May initially hurt from the dirt dispersed
But, The benefit of having peace of mind
Is worth any looks from deceivers
One's willingness to be empathetic may get
And the getting rid of headaches
The moment they appear
Is therapeutic
There is nothing like submitting totally to truth
With the letting of the rest of that nonsense go

When The Great Errs

When the Great Errs
They fall hard the mighty...when they do fall.
Yet, they are often able to get up, look around
for legal help (the best mind, no less.)
Wing clipped perhaps, but the public is amazingly
forgiven. And there will articles extolling
the famous person’s attributes.
The victim, character assassinated and forgotten,
or paid off; if lucky given fifteen minutes of glory
before sinking back to anonymity.

Unintended Blunder

Accepting and foolish,
Is the one who believes...
That derogatory statements made,
Are spoken by the one unaware...
Of their content.

And those who make attempts,
To mask their offensive actions meant...
Do it to get attention for their misdeeds.
With a pleading for a forgiveness,
As if an unintended blunder has been made.

People with open mouths,
Know exactly what comes out of them.
