How Many Days?

How many days must pass me by
before I can see your face?
I count them all one by one
and each and every space
that separates my time with you
and makes me wonder if we're through?

Foolish thinking takes right over
and tears at the heart of me.
Need to stop these darkened thoughts
for all I need to see
is a glimpse of your face
and that tempting smile
to erase all these hours
and hundreds of miles
to know how wrong I am.

not too long ago.
But this separation brings me
desperation and I just can't let it go.

Time's Two Faces

A clock has one face, but time has two…
One is of hope: the other a shrew.
I strain at the pinnacle in sight of both ways.
One is of past years; the other mere days.

As I squint for a better view of the days,
The apex slants more towards the shrew's gaze.
My only chance lies in a much slower pace,
Hoping to enjoy days before they change face.

December’s dull and dreary days.
Seem to pass by much more slowly
than summer days: We have to face
this is the sad reality.
The shorter days do not move fast.
Although we would expect them to
Instead they seem intent to last
so much longer than they ought to.
Although we know it is not true.
Time seems to slow its even pace
to us it really seems to do.

Two Faces In My Mind

there are always two remaining faces
that dominated my mind,

the first one has the face of the body that i want to sleep with
but which i cannot really live with
it is a cruise
perhaps only for three days
then i disembark looking for the next face,

the second is one that i want to spend the rest of my life
but which does not make me wonder
my imagination is shrinking
into a barren land, into shores without waves, into skies without
the stars, into a night deep into the woods
where jackals live

in both faces, my blue butterfly of love and affection
does not hover, as it merely flutters from one flower to another
unable to decide which one

i know the reason why
my soul is restless
my heart had long been dead

in both faces, i fear death no more,
where shall i go somehow is not my worry

i have placed my hands in the hands of God
let Him write everything, i shall face Him weeping
