Narrowed Perceptions

Sheltered and narrowed perceptions accept,
Success and achievement one expects to get...
Is a doting done by someone who comes,
To flatter them with comments done...
With an increasing of an ego that feeds,
On a feasting releasing adored and idol praise.

'Of course,
All of this is nonsense! '
Retorts the one who player hates.
And continuing to say with hints of jealousy...

'None of that which I do,
Can take place without strict discipline.
Or without focused determination too.
Since little time is given to reflect,
On the wearing of titles to puff up one's chest.'

~These medals I wear are heavy around my neck.
Would you mind carrying a few of them,
To enable me to stand up straight and correct? ~

'What do I look like to you?
A coat rack? '

This Kind of Devoted Discipline

Many do not understand,
This kind of devoted discipline.

Some don't understand the benefits of discipline,
Period.

And it is difficult for them,
To connect success with a drive that is focused.

Some people believe luck is involved,
That comes to assist achievement.

And not intention...or,
The sweat of hard work and sleepless nights.

Accept what You can't Change!

If sun is too hot,
accept it,
It is summer, drink water when thirsty,
one can at most keep himself cool,
Not the
entire world!

If it is raining heavy,
Either open your umbrella,
Or just move under roof,
One can't spread umbrella,
Over whole world!

If it is chilling cold of winter,
Falling snow make you sure,
Wear a coat or move near fireplace,
One can't burn whole towns or forest
to keep whole world warm!
learn limits of temporal soul,
bear it, accept it and live,
Happy with your own,
Hurricanes and storms,
Tempests or drought,
one has to transcend,
Transforming his own,
May whatever fight one has to fight,
Greatest is that fight,
fight against own,
Greatest fight ever fought!

May it to fight for living,
may it to change something,
Or may to accept things,
The fight is always on,
Fight of Self against non self,
fight of sense against nonsense,
If one wants to live fightless,
Live to learn to find sense in nonsense,
nonsense or sense that all is in you,
Chose to fight or to surrender,
One has to pay for what willfully done,
Need not pay for what is natural!

The Times We Now Live That Takes Away Breaths

In the disarray of these days we now face,
I keep my concentration focused upon my deeds.
And less upon comments made by others,
About me...
My deeds.
And what beliefs about me they whisper,
To others giving them time to listen.

I could only wish people like that...
A less traumatic awakening.
Since I seek the company,
Of those few who are awake.

To mature AND awaken to accept,
The times we now live that takes away breaths...
In a neck breaking speed,
Is here.
And so blessed is the feeling,
To have one's peace of mind intact!
That's a fact!

And 'that' takes a long time in development.
It comes with experiencing life and not rehearsing it...
As some would think.
Or kept practiced as if to impress.
As some still do!

Life is much too precious to accept foolishness.
And that is...
But just one of the many of the many many lessons...
I have had to learn.

An Old Coat Rack

There is an old coat rack
that stands in the hall
and I’ve often wondered
whose coat once hung there.
It is much older than it looks,
probably a hundred years or more.
Many coats have hung on it
by people large and small.
I did hear that at one time
the coat rack belonged to Buffalo Bill,
so it is possible that Wild Bill Hickok
and Annie Oakley hung their coats
on it at sometime.
One will never know,
but now this little coat rack
with some history
belongs to only me.

Low-key

Titles worn by some,
To them become as significant as the air one breathes.
It is as if a validation has been achieved.
And what they do has merit and can be believed.

But as for me...
I prefer not to wear my titles at all.
I have too many!
And then to do so hints of a certain pretentiousness.

You know what I mean?

I choose to remain low-key.
Although I do 'update' my résumé.
And make sure my 'bio' has no typos!
I want to represent the common man as best as I can.

In Any Field of Endeavor

Achieving success in any field of endeavor,
Accomplishes two things...
Attention and distance!
Attention is generally given from those unknown.
With praise and curiosity shown.

While received from those who believe they know...
Is a growing attitude and distance bestowed.
Adding a touch of unflattering comments to defame.
With a mix of enforced delusional perceptions,
That have been unchanged, limited and misunderstood!
Since a success to them is more shocking than expected.

Pipe Song

Care is all stuff:--
Puff! Puff!
To puff is enough:--
Puff! Puff
More musky than snuff,
And warm is a puff:--
Puff! Puff
Here we sit mid our puffs,
Like old lords in their ruffs,
Snug as bears in their muffs:--
Puff! Puff
Then puff, puff, puff,
For care is all stuff,
Puffed off in a puff--
Puff! Puff!

That's 'Almost' Funny

If one does anything perceived,
That gets an attention one deserves...
There will be envy expressed.
Or a sarcasm heard.

If one looks a certain way,
That hints of beauty...
Or an accepted physical presence,
There will be envy shown.
Or a 'player' hating comment thrown.

Forget about feelings of emotions felt.
Forget about struggles one is dealed and dealt.
Forget about living the process of life itself.
If it was about looks and what it took to survive...
Very few who victimize would not be around,
Expressing envy, jealousy...
Or rolling their nonproductive eyes.

Folks who provoke and poke their jokes,
Do more lieing than trying to invoke good strokes.

'That's some 'light' stuff!
Is your poetry on a diet? '

That's 'almost' funny.
It must be the season of the Easter Bunny?
I rate that one 'ha' with two hees.
Followed with a 'mind-your-business'.
Leave!
On a serious note...
You irritate me.

ANYWAY...

If one does anything perceived,
That gets an attention one deserves...
There will be envy expressed.
Or a sarcasm heard.

If one looks a certain way,
That hints of beauty...
Or an accepted physical presence,
There will be envy shown.
Or a 'player' hating comment thrown.

'To an 'ego' known.
Overblown.'

You have a lot of time to do absolutely 'nothing'.

'And with a 'nothingness' done,
You have achieved 'some' success.'

Buzz off!

If' We Focused and Dared

On 'this' side,
Of our daily lives...
So many chances come to us,
To reflect.
So many chances come to us,
To accept or reject...
And/or decide,
The direction of our lives.

On 'this' side,
We can...
If we wish,
Choose to cry, sigh or create alibis...
Over 'that' we can not change.
Many make claims,
So much for them remains the same.
Revolving in slow motion.

On 'this' side...
We can slip,
Dip and slide...
Into regular doses of misery,
Profused in dripping sweat.
Proving to all...
We are doing the best we can,
For the expected results we get.

And we can try hard to hide,
On 'this' side...
Every last borrowed sorrow.
Or...
We can TAKE PRIDE in who we are!
To make 'that' a goal,
For us to consciously accomplish!
As a means of assurance to complete,
And get done...'if', we focused and dared.

On 'this' side,
We can...
If we wish,
Correct and not dismiss...
Events of nonsense.

Stewed for Taste

Naturally...
If one is fed nonsense,
That is all one knows to accept.
Anything else that may be better to digest...
Will get a rejection,
If it is not marketed to infest...
As the best for one of limited consciousness.

And limitations imposed,
Will be sold as those to be correct!
With an affectiveness,
To produce what one expects!
Naturally.
And with less effort.
Especially,
If some are treated as meat.
And seasoned to be eaten,
As a selected treat!

Leaving the unsuspected,
To be gobbled up like sheep.
Once left...
To sit,
Brewing and stewed for taste!

Dawn Of Reasoning Interconnected Mind

At the traditional age of consent,
I found a great undeniable love
for poetry as I strove to make sense
of this world with its nightmare,
of ignored unresolved problems.

I never had the chance to write,
most of my thoughts, down in
poetry. To reflect my reactions
to the events of my era. Life did
not allow time for contemplation.

It is my ardent hope that economic
circumstances or perhaps a more
focused determination; will allow
you to succeed in writing out more
poems of vital importance than I did.

I wrote when time allowed maybe
one in ten of my poems and often
the easiest. While years passed by
sometimes with nothing but work.
The gap in thought record haunts.

Ignore constant discouraging critic.
Your success now is mine your failure
mine. Therefore keep focused and let
at least some of your poetry, address
real issues. And write write write now!

You are in a time and place that requires
strong young poets from within. Past great
American poets would be devastating with
words writ in this era. I am not American,
you must be our voice from within, voice

proclaim and publish your insight! Pray or
meditate as you will and write that which
I lacking your knowledge cannot. The words
will come because the age topics demands it.
We are united in poetry and desire to express

difficult thoughts and concepts, hopefully to
be a voice of positive change! Tools are at
your finger tips, I never had contact with other
poets, in an electronic interconnected web of
minds, at the dawn of righteous determination.

Influence And Prestige

Keeping one's mind fantasized,
Does not return good dividends.
Nor does the hoarding of truth,
Keeps it unavoidable.
No one playing this game of Bingo,
Is going to be heard to win.

And...
The starting all over with new rules,
To school those unaccustomed to discipline...
Will not gain the attention,
Those grabbing onto their balls...
With threats to leave with perceptions they lead.

They follow themselves,
Down the road of bigger not better delusions.
With beliefs they can make someone listen,
To more created tales,
About their influence and prestige...
That has resulted in jealousy and envy.

'What are you whining about now? '

A 'piper' carrying a batch of promissary notes.
And a reluctance shown to masquerade,
Unpaid.
You didn't hear that from me.
I'm not the one whining.
I'm observing. Remember that!

Greater Than Most

Challenges are many.
And those balls some juggle,
Are greater than most.

The steps it takes to move forward,
Seem weighted and thick.
As if the paths those journey,
Must be done with the carrying...
Of a ton of bricks.

Yet,
There is a light that shines...
With an easing of tensions.
There is a fresh breeze that blows,
To cool and dry the wetness of sweat.

And even though the challenges of many,
That are faced.
There is a place of rest to reflect...
The rewards of continuing on.

With an achieving of success...
Those determined and motivated,
Feel within themselves and get!

Challenges are many.
And those balls some juggle,
Are greater than most.
Yet,
There is a light that shines...
With an easing of tensions.

With an achieving of success...

Feel within themselves and get!

So Many Gifts 1052 Sandrine Bonnant after William Shakespeare Sonnet CXXII

So many gifts to praise, so little space
Admitted in one sonnet's fourteen lines.
No syllables string purer pearls to grace
Dearer neck white swan, admiring, signs.
Recording more by hints than overstatement
I find a phrase to praise, a way to free
No common rays which hasten to abatement,
Eternal mistress, timeless mystery,
Beauty's damsel with her dulcimer.
Other tunes for other ears may play,
No opiate one needs to dream on her
Need feeds from intuitions we'd obey!
Ask fourteen lines to touch her timeless scope?
Themes lack place to trace homage though I hope.

A Patriot

I do not wear a uniform
Nor a helmet on my head
I never carry a weapon
Or have seen my brothers bled.
I never stand at attention
Nor have I marched in line
I never fought for freedom
As what I own is already mine.
I do not salute any man
I humble down only to GOD
So I walk my own separate path
Whether at home or even abroad.
I wear no stripes upon my arms
There are no medals upon my chest
As I am just a civilian
Nothing more, and nothing less.
I know my national anthem
Whenever it is spoken or even sung
And tears still come unto my eyes
As proudly my head is hung.
Inside my soul their is a torch
I will be a patriot until the day I die
And I too will walk those proud lines
While still with pride for my flag I will cry.
I have never fought in a war
But I have passed our soldiers graves
I give thanks to the country that I live in
And to those soldiers, I give my praise.

Much Too Late to Stop an Escalation

Too late it is,
To reverse their biased decisions made...
Against the one,
Who came to save them from disaster.

Much too late,
To stop an escalation of a celebration...
To depict themselves,
As winners of an achievement.
When that achievement defeats,
Their own perceptions.

Foolishly allowing their limitations to succeed.
And all their worthless bickering,
Now wounding those who also cheered in glee.
Eyes onced narrowed with minds closed now see...
The one they mindlessly victimized,
Was the one who tried to prevent their grief.

Too late it is,
To reverse their biased decisions made...
Against the one,
Who came to save them from disaster.
And the ones who declared a victory...
Are the ones who themselves deceived.

A broken heart?

most of the times
like those heavy rainy days
you accept
life with a heavy heart
such a situation as
having to feel the wetness of the weather
when you have no other
place to stay
except a park that does not offer you
any good view of the sea
or the mountain
as if
yes, there is no choice but to either
sit or run
and it does not really matter
what to do
when the rain keeps on pouring on you
and you simply
let the water rush and fall on your hair
down to your neck
and then to your chest
just to relieve the pain of a
broken heart

there is no surprise
no one experiences none of it
common stories that do not bother us anymore
because they are too plain
all ruggedness accepted
with resignation
like
it is fair and we did nothing about it
there is no saving
plan
