Ms Eccentric
Ms Eccentric,
With your bowls of placed mints.
May I sit to inquire about your sentiments?
Why do you dine in powdered wig and gloves?
And feed bread crumbs to caged doves...
Announcing this to be an activity,
You have come to love!
Ms Eccentric,
As you sit and think of it...
Have you ever wished to be less obvious,
Doing those things intentionally meant?
Or does it make you feel better,
To get the attention you attract?
Knowing without that attention...
You would not be mentioned.
And making you bored to know that!
But you have seen to it,
No one can ignore you not one bit!
And without it to motivate...
You believe you could not exist,
Being less eccentric.
Or have someone like me,
Stop being curious enough to pay you a visit.
And I am glad you invite my curiosity with delight!
Ms Eccentric?
You know it's hard for me to show a dislike.
You know my presence feeds your appetite.

Eccentric doesn't bother me. 'Eccentric' being a poetic interpretation of a mathematical term meaning something that doesn't follow the lines - that's okay.

Eccentric and Suicide
Eccentric married Suicide -
Waltzing beneath the porch.
The stayed with Rain to try to hide -
From Sun's revealing scorch.
The sparkle in her dress -
Was the twinkle in his eye.
Eccentric's epic of distress -
Was a rainbow through the sky.
Or rather a sky through through the rainbow -
Which is a painting on her nails.
Famous In My Own Mind
In my poetic life
I’ve gained a measure
of celebrity
People who read me
Know me instantly…
As “that eccentric ol’ S.O.B.”
But that’s o.k., I’ve got no pride
It’s actually been a rather
pleasant ride
And at this point, you see
It’s just fine with me
To be
In self ordained celebrity…
“That grizzled, grumpy, (and crochety)
Eccentric ol’ S.O.B.”

Suicide's Seducing Chant
Of Destiny and Lovesick was I born -
A child of fate self-giving -
From my love - Eccentric - I'll not be torn
Beneath Freedom's moon we're living!
Suicide himself am I -
Commit me and you'll live -
Marry me - you'll not die -
To Moon Rise yourself you'll give!
Stick I out - my hand persuasive-
Then smile like silver nights -
To my love- Eccentric - I'm not invasive -
Know we our fine rights!
Cruise we will down Destiny's street -
In silent flowers lined -
Know you will - no defeat -
Joy herself will be refined!
Eccentric Or Pathetic
Eccentric or pathetic,
it is hard to distinguish them at times.
I once knew a woman, who every morning
when she went to work,
would get down on her hands and knees
and sniff the carpet for any offending smells.
Recently I have heard of a man
who goes around the toilets with a magnifying glass
lifting up the toilets seats to see underneath
if he could find a minute spec of dust.
He then gets out is disinfectant wet wipes
and rubs ferociously until the offending minute spec of dust is gone. Are these people eccentric or pathetic,
it is hard to distinguish them.
So all I can ask of you
is to make up your own mind.

Me... Eccentricity... and Poetry
A pair of newly purchased, round lens glasses
That now perch steadfast and proud
upon my brow
Endow me the rather amusing mien…
of a startled, outraged and somewhat
surprised barn owl
A matted mane of shaggy grey hair
And a tiny flagrant bald spot
Poised defiantly there
Demanded that my eccentric appearance
Should be given
an upward rachet
So to be more in keeping
With Burns, Bierce and
“Bob Cratchett”
For it’s a rigid requirement
For old poets
To seem
Like a character,
stepped out of…
“A mid-summers night dream”
So I look in my mirror
Perch my round lenses
To the tip of my nose
Peer solemnly down that
Aquiline feature… and strive to
Strike… a perfect poetic pose
I’m perfectly eccentric now! ! What with my shaggy mane…
my round lensed glasses, my bushy eyebrows…
And my baggy clothes.
And now, being perfectly equipped, I must buckle down…
with an extremely proper, literary, dusty frown
And write some very eccentric prose

He is an eccentric husband
Enclosed with friends madly all time
Freaky sneaky friends never banned
He is an eccentric husband
They infest his home to sound grand
And to fear his folks any time

Enclosed with friends madly all time

A pious boy here can't get wedded
For most girls like to be modern
Ritual codes today dreaded
A pious boy can't get wedded
Stars match yet boys can't get wedded
For stars are old and not modern
A pious boy can't get wedded
For most girls like to be modern

Love
love is not enough
love is not even love
without a happy glove
love isn't defined as specific
hard to tell if im in it
love is strong for me anyway
not so careless to give away
based on like lust envy
maybe its an eccentric energy
cant tell you it for any reason but my own
you want me to do it or just go home
forcing me to decide what i feel
as if what i've felt has grown
do you want me to decide on a whim
im sorry but i cant just give in
i guess im going to have to go
trying to turn me into a puppet show
pulling my strings to get what you want to
but maybe this is so hard
because i dont love you
Unique, Eccentric Things
Women over age forty complain they are invisible
to men, must appear young and lie about age for
attention - this problem does not exist for people
like me who never caught the male eye because
we never appealed by attending to them
It is hard work to idealise anyone and the loss of
cheap admiration seems to be an advantage as
fake charm to exploit a dame never held interest,
older women should rejoice that they are free
from false compliments courting their favour
Women who complain about this benefit must
have been used to wolf-whistles; since my pre-
occupations kept me safe from such practices
I don’t suffer losing superficial meaningless
things - I have little sympathy with
Feminine types who live for compliments, yet
I appreciate the variety they add to life; never
want individual ideas to be lost; I love unique,
eccentric things for the interesting contrast
they always provide through their being

Glad This Is Not My Issue
I have never been accused,
Of being patriotic.
Devoted or loyal.
Nor sacrificial to others' needs.
Whether known or not...
These activities,
Do not from other lips speak.
It has never been discussed,
How I would rush to the aid of others.
And entertain them with foolishness,
Just to see a smile come across their lips.
Although I've been called stupid on many occasions.
It has never been expressed,
My desire to do my very best.
Or to implement with discipline,
The tackling done of obstacles that come to test.
Yet...
It has been said,
I think I'm better than the rest.
Trying to impress.
I have heard comments stated in my face,
To berate what is I've attempted to do.
To then have it said...
I do what I do to seek attention.
As if there is something I need to prove.
'Can we all say, Lun-a-tic? '
And the more I value the quietness of my peace,
In a privacy I seek to protect...
I hear it said that I am lonely, eccentric and seeking friends.
And a public attention is what I address.
As I age,
I thank God my time has been spent...
In the validation of those things important.
And the sharing of events with those loved who are close.
If I had not...
I would not know whose life it is to live!
Or which of those with mental illnesses needing focus the most!
I am glad this is not my issue.
And I've got them too.
But not on these levels.

I Often Wonder About This When I Am Solicited
It is difficult to remain objective...
When a solicitation comes.
It is difficult not to feel imposed upon...
When a rating is demanded,
From someone.
Does someone doing what they do,
From a love connection.
Desire to have it rated...
With a close inspection?
I often wonder about this when I am solicited.
It is difficult to remain objective...
When a a solicitation comes.
It is difficult not to feel imposed upon...
When a rating is demanded,
From someone.
And what is the ultimate purpose?
To feed an ego...
Or improve.
What if I should say I dislike what has been done?
What for that 'someone' will my comments prove?
That I don't know what I am talking about?
AND...
I am an eccentric fool?
I've been told that too many times.
That is why I refuse,
To respond to solicitations.
There is an honesty involved.
And I will protect mine too!
