Motives

I am often amused by those,
Who insist to others they know who I am.
To then say,
I am not being myself...
As they try to explain obvious contradictions,
In their depictions that never seem to fit.
While those who do know me,
Respect and comprehend my motives totally.

Totally. Totally. Totally Bummed

Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.

Significant this feeling is,
Hard to overcome.
When an aging is apparent,
And nothing can be done.

And when one has a wisdom,
One developes more and more...
The pressure to pretend there isn't,
Can not be ignored.

Oh, totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Being now an elder,
Overnight has stunned.
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.

No more looking 26.
Overnight has stunned.
Disappearing quick was 36.
Overnight has stunned.
And the 46 that came...
Picked up 56 and split.
And now I can't believe it,
I am elderly legit.

Oh, totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Being now an elder,
Overnight has stunned.
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Being now an elder,
Overnight has stunned.

Where Were You When That Happened?

It has already been tried.
Whatever it is you think you do.
Or believed done.
To yourself or someone,
Else
Involved involuntarily.

It has already been tried.
To cast vacant innocent eyes,
To hide behind another masquerade.

'We can't both be in the same Milky Way?
Why would I not be aware of the obvious?
You must be filming this for your archive collection.
Labelled, 'Repeated Scenes In Unconvincing Color''

It has already been tried.
Whatever it is you think you do.
Or believed done.
To yourself or someone,
Else
Involved involuntarily.

'Why do you think I have this smile on my face?
Because I am happy to see you?

I am more amused than happy.
But then again,
I'm happily amused.
So much has changed!
And I wonder...
Where were you when that happened? '

No Respect

Respect,
Always everybody looking for some
Respect,
Who do you think youre gonna get it from
Respect,
Anybody here deserving of none
Respect,
Tell me what makes you think
Youre not the one
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
Respect,
Why be concerned with
Public adulation
Respect,
Pat on the back crying
For attention
Respect,
Finding out what it really
Means to me
Respect,
Honor comes only after
Humility

I Write The Contradictions Of My Heart

I WRITE THE CONTRADICTIONS OF MY HEART

I write the contradictions of my heart
I give them to you freely-
But you have your own contradictions
And where are they in relation to mine?

We share what we are
But also do not-
I write for you
And you are silent for me-
And I thank you guiltily
for the blessing of your listening.

Cruel And Insensitive

People who are seen,
Participating in social activities...
Mocking others to demean,
Are conscious of their depictions.
But when it comes,
To be conscious of their insecurities...
Another might insist,
Those who use a public forum for this...
Are the first to declare,
Who has offended them...
With an advocating to say,
Someone else has shown to them...
How they can be cruel and insensitive.

If one can not take they heat,
They should not be the first...
To strike up the match,
With an inflicting that will meet a doing done...
Applied to receive a personal satisfaction!

Now Or Ever

You've excluded me from depictions,
Of how your perfect life should be lived.
Those depictions were inflicted.
And for years,
To me you did this.

If you were not facing unsurmountable conflicts,
I doubt seriously if a 'we together' would be heard...
Coming from your lips.
That is a fact of life that between us has existed.
Painting over a Zebra's stripes...
Doesn't diminish the sight of it!

And what makes you think a 'togetherness' is what I wish?
I'm not the one with a mind confused in conflict.
I remember your specific words...
'Why bother with someone I regard as worthless.'

You've excluded me from depictions,
Of how your perfect life should be lived.
Those depictions were inflicted.
And for years,
To me you did this.

You left me to survive alone.
And on my own you were not in the picture.
Now or ever will that be my wish.

I did not barter my soul,
Hoping for a price paid by the highest bidder.
Nor did I quit to whore...
To solicit impressions to make.
Your chose to go through that door.

You left me to survive alone.
And on my own you were not in the picture.
Now or ever will that be my wish.
You chose to whore now you handle it!

I don't think of you like the others do.
You can blitz them with bling and other meaningless things.
But someone without integrity...
Has nothing else to offer to deliver,
Or without strings attached to me bring!

If you were not facing unsurmountable conflicts,
I doubt seriously if a 'we together' would be heard...
Coming from your lips.
You've excluded me from depictions,
Of how your perfect life should be lived.
Those depictions were inflicted.
And for years,
To me you did this.

Remove your garbage from my door.

It Ain't Obvious

I keep trying
but I'm running out of ways to make you want me baby
I cannot be everything you want you drive me crazy
you're never satisfied
its not even worth a try times are for making up your mind
maybe we'll never see eye to eye

so treat me cruel to be kind
lets play it straight down the line
I'm sure you wanna be mine
but it ain't obvious

why cant you just let it be
what would you have me believe
I'm sure you really want me
but it ain't obvious

why don't you put a little trust in me
and let it go
if you don't take a chance
how will you ever know
baby im on your side

have I been foolish all along
have you been leading me on
just to walk away
if this is where you belong

so treat me cruel to be kind
lets play it straight down the line
I'm sure you wanna be mine
but it ain't obvious

why cant you just let it be
what would you have me believe
I'm sure you really want me
but it ain't obvious

but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious

come on wont you be with me
what would you have me believe
come on wont you be with me
oh no no

no no

Obvious Glares

You proclaim others' flaws...
In public settings
As if to do that,
Diminishes your own blemishes.
You should refrain from doing that.
Since it may decrease what you perceive as adulation...
From the obvious glares of those,
Who seem not too amused by fools!
And they do not laugh 'with' you at all!

Often Amused

I am often amused,
By those electing to be suppressed...
In distressed environments.
And since they disrespect themselves,
Anyone living within it...
Gets the same treatment.
No matter what the influences achieved may be.

I am often amused,
By those who critique others...
With equal debilitating sustained values.
As if this depiction makes them feel a safety,
To bring everyone down to a level...
That expresses their disgust!

I am often amused!
But my expereinces outside of this,
I refuse to anyone 'limited' to discuss.

I Was There Myself

I wish I could find the right words to say,
Why your mind and my time...
Are not going to be close friends.

I wish I could say this to you,
Without you becoming upset.
I am a lot older in many ways.
And in those ways you do not respect.

My tolerance you accept,
As an approval of your nonsense.
I am just more patient.
And have more than you will ever know.

My willingness to listen,
To your petty conversations...
Is a hope you will comprehend,
Just how small you make that world you live in.

My suggestions that you live and let live,
With a letting go...
Comes from experience.
Not because I believe there is so much I know.

Your mind is limited and fixed in stubbornness.
Then to me you complain,
About your attempts to convince...
With an acknowledgement foreign to common sense.

And to learn one has to listen.
But your issues and insecurities,
Are excuses you use as a defense.
I was there myself!
That is why you are so obvious.

I wish I could find the right words to say,
Why your mind and my time...
Are not going to be close friends.

I wish I could say this to you,
Without you becoming upset.
I am a lot older in many ways.
And in those ways you do not respect.

Acknowledging My Sentiments

I've been too long at this...
Not to know what it is that I am doing.
I make it my business to comprehend.
With a listening done that is focused.
And with an empathy that is felt.

If someone doesn't understand,
Or appreciate my motives...
I am the last one it may dawn upon,
To evoke my own mental commotion.
I'm not devoted to my ego on those terms.

I've been too long at this...
Not to know what it is that I am doing.
I make it my business to comprehend.
With a listening done that is focused.
And with an empathy that is felt.

And acknowledging my sentiments,
Has a lot to do with the exquisite friendship I have...
That I early in life came to face and embrace,
With both truth and honesty.
I'm not devoted to my ego!
However...
There is an understanding given to its limits.

Sonnet: Respect

Respect your elders all if they deserve;
Respect your servants too who you well serve;
Respect your father for tilling the soil;
Respect your mother for her love and toil.

Respect all teachers who gave you knowledge;
Respect your friend who saved you from the ledge;
Respect all good minds who advised you good;
Respect the man of God who gave soul’s food.

Respect all strangers who were all Godsends;
Respect your foes who taught you self-defense;
Respect those evil men who you troubled;
Respect the tempter who well you misled.

Respect your conscience which tells you what’s right;
Respect your God who is your Friend and Guide.

Respect Sows Peace

Do not restrict respect
to age because someone is old
show real respect to all

but respect most
heart motivation
of people worthy
of that respect.

Respect is given
respect is earned
respect enriches
respect ennobles

graces civilization
elevates humanity
sows seeds of peace.

Things I Believe In...

I respect, another mans religion, or color or creed.
I respect, and follow, the will of my maker.
I respect, the truth, no matter how unpopular.

I respect, a good work ethic.
I respect, the values on which this country was founded.
I respect, those who would champion the under privileged.
I respect, those of differences, who seek common ground.

I respect, the concept of monogamy.
I respect, those faithful to principal.
I respect, change, that is for the better.
I respect, an honest days work.

I respect, the great talents of the entertainment world.
I respect, thought provoking works, of the written word.
I respect, the unquenchable thirst of creativity.
I respect, the farmers and workers that toil in the field.

I respect, the good in man.
I respect, the virtue in woman.
I respect, the innocence of children.
I respect, the generosity of mankind.

Most of all...I respect the maker of
life and the love, that each of us
have within us.
