Many Moons Ago

This time and in this season,
Many moons ago
I remember having those ambitions,
To possess and impress.
With a wealth of good health,
And youthfulness.

This time and in this season,
Many moons ago
The pace of life seemed a bit slower.
And those with beliefs of it being,
Never too late to pursue dreams
Procrastinated with excuses made.

Dreams,
Whether done day ot night
Have their way of accepting a delay,
Of an appearance to have them touched.
When carrying a basketfull of priorities
To put them off as temporary necessities,
Time will give to see them produced.

This time and in this moment,
As I reflect with an aging process
I have learned to respect
A hesitatiing to put off that which I wish to do.
But not to do them,
Seems to me to be a bit foolish.

Since there is nothing I will sit in waiting,
For an approval to be made.
Or an acceptance to be given.
I've earned that right,
In the seeking to please the life I live.
I have earned that right,
To like or dislike what I choose.

This time and in this moment,
My wishes as they are
Have given me a gratefulness,
To feel blessed and thankful
For a basicness that brings to me the most joy.
That many moons ago I did not know!

til The Season Comes Round Again

(john barlow jarvis, randy goodrum)
Come and gather round at the table
In the spirit of family and friends
And well all join hands and remember this moment
til the season comes round again
So let us smile for the picture
And well hold it as long as we can
May it carry us through should we ever get lonely
til the season comes round again
Bridge:
One night, holy and bright
Shining with love from our hearts
By a warm fire lets life our hands high
And be thankful were here til this time next year
May the new year be blessed with good tidings
til the next time I see you again
If we must say goodbye let the spirit go with you
til the season comes round again
Repeat bridge
May this new year be blessed with good tidings

Well all join hands and remember this moment
And well love and well laugh in the time that we have

Repossess The Basicness Of Life

Separate 'things'
From your evaluation of happiness.
Repossess the basicness of life...
If you can remember how that time was spent.
The moment your were persuaded to abandon it,
For a chase to retrieve creature comforts...
Was the day you believed,
Your life was to live impressing others.
And your creditors are the ones left,
Who are least amused by your choices made.
Release this from the confines of your mind,
And decide to live.
Repossess the basicness of life.
Remove those restrictions you have imposed...
To feel deserving of an earned peace of mind.

If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful

Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I'm only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown
I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains
I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
I've lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I've laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
You're a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time
Make it shine
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be
I will be
I will be free
I will be
I will be free

Proud To Exist To Witness Possibilities

I am glad I represent a generation aging.
With an acceptance to reminisce and reflect,
Upon the times I have been blessed to remember.
I am glad to be able to think with a thought process,
That connects with a wish to daily adventure.
And welcome a maturity I have earned.
With all that being conscious of it has to offer.

Although I will admit,
A loneliness when so many are dismissing...
There are phases of life that should be natural.
And understood with observations undenied.
And moving forward instead of backwards.
Or remaining down to earth unchanged.
As many aging with their delusions intact,
Would like to claim with a sameness of sanity.

But isn't that what stagnation is?
A stubbornness that is fixed in place.
With ways that begin to collect ignored dust.
And being stagnant and stale, unchanged...
Is something I don't consider fresh or impressive.
Or sparkles as if proud to exist to witness possibilities.
Not if one is to grow and experience what life is.
Or come to realize this adventure isn't here to last forever.

I am glad I represent a generation aging,
With an acceptance.
I am glad to be able to think with a thought process,
That connects with a wish to daily adventure.
And welcome a maturity I have earned.
With all that being conscious of it has to offer,
As a life I have learned to live...
To appreciate, explore and not take for granted.

Sonnets to my love

I. My woman among a world of women

My woman among a world of women,
I wonder when will I see you again?

You who live in every dream,
as part of me
and time is rushing by and my hope
grows dimmer like the winter sun
in the cold sky.

At night the darkness covers me
and the moon glitters bleak
and even it grows weak
while I long for you
and even my consciousness
declares that maybe
I am waiting in vain.

II. I wish I could remember

I wish I could remember in detail
the first time that we met
the glance in your eyes
when you saw me.

Was it May, June, July
or maybe October?

I cannot recollect
what time of year
not even which season
but from the very start
I held you dear and that first hug
when I held you near
brought tears to your eyes,
or was it mine?

III. In dreams you are still with me

In dreams you are still with me
and in every dream
your dear face I see

and every night I dream on
of you and me being one
and when waking
with the sun braking through
the windowpane in the early morning
you are gone

and still somehow
it’s as if I can smell
your lingering perfume
just as if you spent
the night here with me.

IV. From the first moment I loved you

From the first moment
I loved you

construing how you felt
from your voice, what you said
to me and your actions
even if you might not
feel the same

but tough at times
you are not sure of your feelings
you were then
and we became one
and I dwelt in your eyes
trying to find your soul
and to bind with it.

V. Today I pray for you

Today I pray for you
not only to be true to me
but to have God dwell in your heart
for Him to keep you well,
to shadow you in every thing that you do.

Today I pray that every word
and every deed be blessed,
that every poetic line you write,
every brush stroke that you make
and every time you take the guitar
in your hands
be a great delight to others
and that they see you
in the greatness that I know.

VI. Your rebuke I have not earned

Your rebuke I have not earned,
just gave my sincere opinion
about something that I read
which you wanted me to
and neither were my words
aimed at you.

What should shine through
my lines is how much
I love and miss you

but more so
my love for the creator God
which comes first
in all that I do
even superseding you.

VII. If love is something sure

If love is something sure
between the two of us,
will you go away?

If love links you to me,
will you go astray,
be swept to another shore?

Love me and love me more
before it is too late
and destiny makes it impossible.

Love me as an equal
or let it be and loosen
the raging winds
to devour the citadel,
the castle of our dreams.

Too Comfortable A Passenger

You have come much too late,
To request from me to give to you...
What at one time,
Was thrown back in my face.

It is not that I am embittered.
Those days feeling that way,
From me have gone.
And like the passing of each season,
I'm not the one to linger with wishes,
That any season I might like...
Continues to go on.

That would be too selfish of me,
To believe something will wait...
Until I decided it was time to celebrate,
In the appreciation of it.

You have come much too late,
To request from me to give to you...
What at one time,
Was thrown back in my face.

However I will suggest,
You develop more pro-action...
With a learning to do that at your best.
And accept what to you has been given.
Instead of looking for something to impress.

Since this might eventually,
Address your attempts to catch...
A train that has already left the station.
And I have been made too comfortable a passenger,
To get off to satisfy a going back in time.
Even if that 'was' a possibility.

100 Years

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly youre wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...
I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 youre on your way
Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

A Season For Sowing

a season for sowing
good tidings
and good will

the fields are clean
the sky is bright
the air is filled
with mists

we bury what good we have
inside our hearts
we let the soil bid time
we make room for growth

we wait for many moons
we dream with the stars
we anticipate the next to come
that season for harvest.

My Choice Is to Make History

I'm one to adventure life.
Accepting it as a process.
I feel blessed to be granted it to bloom, flourish and grow.
Seeking purpose.
And when that purpose is fulfilled,
It then is time to move on!
Like each season that acknowledges the next.
Never to overstay a visit!
I too have those same wishes.

To remain unchallenged,
I know is not my mission.
And as long as I am blessed with my life,
I will seek the unknown.
To uncover it.
To leave behind for someone to discover I existed.

My choice is to make history.
Not relive it!

At times it can become uncomfortable.
But no learning I've ever achieved,
Came easy.
Or resulted from a path cleared of obstacles.

Take Your Time

Take your time, your dreams have not altered;
Take your time, to address what faltered
That caused you to let go of these aspirations;
Soon, you will discover many illusions
Were played by your then-afeared mind,
And that you would do well to leave them behind.

Trust in yourself, it will all come back into focus-
It is the natural order of things, not some hocus-pocus,
Merely the way that your life is supposed to be.
Gradually, you shall see again, as you were supposed to see-
Not clouded by undue fright and irrationality,
And that time is the best anti-dote for this failure's causality.
Time heals all, including a fear made very real
By confabulation, that caused you to feel
That there must be something to the impediment
That you placed in the way of your dreams and their embodiment.

Take your time, analyze it every step of the way;
Take your time, think for a moment, of the day
Before it all started to 'come apart':
Think of the way you felt in your closely-guarded heart.
Dissect everything that was said and done;
Nary do any of them stand the test of time or truth-not one!
Your dreams are your's, and your's alone:
They are the only thing that you really ever own;
So, why not again believe in their verity! ? !
Only then will you see again, with clarity
Of purpose, and absolute truth of heart;
Only then can you begin again, to impart
To yourself, the reality of your dreams.

Take your time; all is never as it seems
To be, under the fog of frenzied fright.
Your dreams shall again make themselves right,
If you believe in the way you remember
You felt, that glorious day in December,
Before it was all taken from your sight,
To haunt you, as a spectre, in the night.

Take your time, your dreams are the only truth you possess-
This is the awe-inspiring gift of God's Bless!

Your Own Fate

What if you did all that you wanted;
If your hopes and dreams were flaunted,
For all the world to see and applaud! ?
Why not give yourself, instead of others, the nod-
To live your own life, unaffected by others' views! ?
Why not allow your life to be what you would choose,
Without regard for what the uninformed opine! ?
Why not live your life as I live mine:
For, by, and of myself-without prejudice,
Bias, or hate-my heart is for all, commodious.
My dreams are mine for a reason:
I do not seek and find, then alter like a season,
Because others need to assert their ignorance,
All the while under the guise of guidance
And protection-as if you could not possibly know
What is best for you-like this interference could possibly show
The altruism that they so ardently profess!
This decision, made under the throngs of duress,
Is not what is best for you, it is what is easiest for them.
Only when both your and their wants are ibidem,
Should you make a decision, of which others approve.
Though, it is not too late to rethink your stance, before you've
Lost a great and powerful feeling from your sight,
Locked away forever-as though an unending night
Of purgatory, where your afeared heart made a decision
It can never stand to live with-where the derision
Of the moment becomes more and more permanent.
All you need do is look in your heart to know where it went-
There resides the answer, as it has all the while:
Your heart is never prone to your mind's beguile!
Now that time has wend your way
And you are no longer subject to the sway
Of irrationality or the phantom of false fear,
All the answers in your heart should make quite clear,
That a glory need not die, nor does a dream need be gone-
Allow the spectre of the past to fade and a future to dawn,
Where you are no longer conflicted between this ardor
And attempts to please everyone-never again barter
With your heart, it is a losing proposition!
We both know the heights of your life's ambition:
To live the life, of which you have always aspired,
With the one person that you always admired
Fervently, and with strength that neither time nor
Distance may alter-you know that you are prime for
This moment and for this life, all you must do
Is disavow its impedance, and trust you,
And you alone, are the master of your own fate-
Do this now my beloved, before it is too late!

Give Me Just One Night

If you're tellin' me you want me
Hold me close all through the night
I know deep inside you need me
No one else can make it right
Don't you try to hide the secrets
I can see it ifn your eyes
You said the words without speaking
And i'm gonna make you mine
Chorus:
Give me just one night, una noche
A moment to be by your side
Give me just one night, una noche
I'll give you the time of your life
The time of your life
Oh
Give you the time of your life
Oh baby yeah
Love and passion make me crazy
Your existence makes me wild
Wanna loosen up your feelings
To see what's hiding inside
Chorus
The time of your life
Oh oh yeah
Oh baby
Ay, que rico
Oh, how good
Me pone loca
You make me crazy
Como te mueve
How you move
Como me toca
How you touch me
Tu movimiento
Your movement
Tu sentimiento
Your feeling
Si, yo te quiero
Yes, i love you
Te doy la noche
I'll give you the night
Toda la noche
All night long
Ay, vamos
Let's go
Give me just one night, just one night baby
A moment to be by your side
Give me just one night, just one night oh baby
I'll give you the time of your life
(give you the time of your life)
Give me just one night
Give me just one night, una noche
A moment to be by your side
(a moment to be by your side)
Give me just one night, una noche, oh yeah
I'll give you the time of your life
Give me just one night, una noche
A moment to be by your side
(a moment to be by your side)
Give me just one night, una noche
I'll give you the time of your life
(give you the time of your life)

Oh yeah

A Little Slower

Drive a little slower,
Take a look around,
Remember the houses,
The yellow stripes of time.

Walk a little slower,
Breathe in the fresh air,
Remember the look in strangers' eyes.
The glimpse into another's life.

Eat a little slower,
Take a moment to taste each taste,
Remember the server's name,
The complex simplicity of food.

Talk a littler slower,
Think about each word being said,
Remember each reply,
The interactions that form the day.

Move a little slower,
Pay attention to each muscle,
Remember how it feels,
The connect to the world.

Breathe a little slower,
Think about each breath,
Remember the heart beating in your chest,
The key to everything else.

Love a little slower,
Show your love and don't just say it,
Remember to put love above money,
The fuel to our success.

Laugh a little slower,
Really feel the emotion,
Remember to laugh often,
The relief from stress.

Dance a little slower,
Hold onto each word and note of music,
Remember the rhythm and beat,
The movements of life.

Live a little slower,
Take time to make your life what you want,
Remember that you only have one chance,
The choice to sit back or to live to the fullest.

Exist a little slower and you will know what happiness is.

Poem: It’s Time (Happy New Year)

Once again, it’s time
to celebrate a new year,
when the vision of the human spirit is replete
with renewed, opportunistic good cheer.

Once more, it’s time
for some real and personal change:
reflect through your lens of experience
and purpose to have priorities rearranged.

Yet again, it’s time
for the transformation of one’s mind;
forget about silly or foolish resolutions
and instead apply a heavenly paradigm.

Nevertheless, it’s time
to stop weakly struggling in vain.
Remember, the Lord’s victory has been secured,
for our Christ is forever the same!

In this new season, it’s time
to shed all worrisome and needless stress.
Get grounded on The Word, knowing that…
You have already been greatly blessed.

Too Connected To Humanity

Too connected to humanity,
To feel completely free.
Although I am committed,
To have my own peace of mind...
I still find I am happiest,
When near and close to those I love.

Too connected I am to those I care about.
Even those I see on a daily basis I don't know...
I give and show respect I don't in return get.
And yet,
I am not expecting it...
In wishes it to be given.

Too connected to humanity and accepting it.
With each moment lived to express gratefulness.
And to do that with the acknowledgement,
I can only be free to observe and learn.
Not be isolated with a freedom earned...
Yet to become upset,
Since my senses are not satisfied by my yearning...
To be held and touched.

Icy Moons.

Dark.
Nostalgic
Fireside afternoons.
Time lets us
Replay those tunes.
But
Comes back to haunt us
With icy moons.
Throwing beams
Stowing dreams.
To relive again
Love and pain.
And kisses
That we missed.
Misses
That we kissed.
Behind the dunes.
Now swept away.
Night mocks the day
As memory swoons.
To icy moons.

Its My Life

(micky dolenz)
Micky dolenz music (bmi)
Lead vocal: micky dolenz
Its my life and Im takin over now
Its my life and its time that I learned how
No excuses. for the truth is
Its my life now
I stumble and I fall
And I think about it all
Then I make amends
But it never ends
And Ive just begun to wonder why
And I listen to the songs,
And I read all the words,
And I seem to remember something that I heard
Of a fire and a cave and shadows on the wall
Its my life and Im takin over now
Its my life and its time that I learned how
No excuses. for the truth is
Its my life now
I wanna believe in the miracles
But they mix me up. then they pass the cup
And Ive just begun to look the other way
And I dont want to lean on the stars or on the dreams
On the fantasies or the deities
Dont I think its time to lean on me?
Its my life and Im takin over now
Its my life and its time that I learned how
No excuses. for the truth is
Its my life now
No excuses. for the truth is
Its my life now
