I awakened today,
With yesterday on my mind.
And the day before.,
Along with those days before that...
Gone but obviously not forgotten.

And I asked myself...
Why are times I can not change,
Making time and finding comfort in my mind?
And giving me a reason to trip,
With 'what 'ifs'?

And I asked myself...
'If it is time you want to waste,
Why can't you take some of it...
And clean up your house? '

Needless to say...
I thought that comment was extremely rude.
So I left.
Determined to return when I felt like it.

Yesterday

Yesterday, I was running with to feet
Yesterday, I was playing with kids
Yesterday, I was kicking the ball
Yesterday, I had it all, all was mine.

Yesterday, I was growing well,
Yesterday, I had it all undercover
Yesterday was my day
Yesterday, my days were

Yesterday, I had a lover, ‘true lover’
Yesterday, promises were made
Yesterday, promises were not kept
Yesterday, I was happy.

Yesterday, I gave him everything
Yesterday, I sacrificed everything
Yesterday, I was a fool
Yesterday, I was dying

Today

Today, I am lying in bed
Today, I am watching hopeless kids
Today, I can hardly move
Today, everything is falling

Today, I am dying in bed
Today, it is all wrong
Today, is not my day
Today, my days are not

Today, I have no one
Today, promises are broken
Today, promises are not
Today, I have no hope

Today, I long for myself
Today, I cry over spilled milk
Today, I am wise

Whatever happened yesterday is not

Someone asked me
If I had fallen astray in any particular way
I replied, ’ That was yesterday, not today’

I took the sunshine without making any hay

Many today’s have passed
I am left here standing
standing at the side of the road
the road of time.
I watch tomorrow coming
Today passes by with a great wuush
and fades into yesterday
many yesterdays ago I was something
I was trained and hard a killer eyes sharp
my mind was a machine for malice

Occasionally I feel like the walls around are closing in on me

Looking through the pages of my life
I stop and remember
Those days that became chapters
In an otherwise ordinary life
Oh how they stand so clear in my mind
As if they were only yesterday
Always there each time
I go and search for them
For they are what made me
What I am today
The happy, sad the good and the bad
Oh how those times write the story of my life
They are what will give me comfort
Now and and in the last days of my life
For the candle of life once ablaze that shone bright
Is now nothing more than a flicker
For memmories made today
Seem to slip away as fast as they are made

Those Slow To Learn Their Lessons

So many years have passed.
And so many have lived their lives,
Being led down the wrong paths...
To one day discover,
As if the clouds have been removed...
From clearing eyes and minds,
To realize those tasks and evil misdeeds...
Done to others in times left behind,
Should have never by them...
The focus of their attention given.
But...
It was.

And those who had been picked,
For those misdeeds done determined...
To have been fit and appropriate,
Might have also awakened with a change of mind.

Perhaps for them they were willing once 'then' to forgive,
But today they may be more convinced...
That those slow to learn their lessons as quick,
Are deserving of repeated teachings...
Until such doing has become satisfying to please.
And those messages they attempted to deliver,
Are guaranteed to have been received.

'I don't understand why I am the one,
Treated in such an offensive manner.'

~Don't worry about it.
You're not the only one who suffers,
From a selective memory.
All you have to do is connect the dots.
What have you done,
That you wish had been forgotten? ~

I Too Am Human

I too am human.
And exist with human needs.
At one time I believed,
Those needs I had...
Were in the pleasing of others.
And that was okay,
For those days long gone away.
But those days long gone away,
Today I do not address.

I too am human.
And when I awakened to realize,
Just how human I was...
I felt grateful and blessed,
To have been there for others.
But today...
My needs I want met.
I too am human.
And today that is what I address.

The giving, the taking with its heartbreaking,
Has been done with the best of my time invested.

And it has taken me a while to digest it.

Yesterday's house,
where I used to live
was warm
with brick, and mellow wood.

Sounds bounced
softly
back and forth,
to blend with living words.

Yesterday's house
does not remember me.

Today's house
is cold and bleak
with steel,
and pitted stone.

Sounds clash,
as havoc reigns...
with reason
lost to madness.

Yesterday's house
is masked by time,
and clockwork hands
that can't turn back.

My body lives in today's house -
my eyes weep today's tears -
but my heart
is safe in yesterday's house
where the mortgage

It is nice to hear about yester years
It may please and give joy in ears
It was somebody yesterday
It may be your turn today

I think too much of to tomorrow
The mind remains occupied and did not allow
No concrete action can be thought over
Yesterday can’t provide any cover

You keep in sight of yesterday
Think precisely of today
The present should occupy real position
There has to be some permanent transition

We can’t think of better yesterday
It has gone and left nothing for the day
The future may trouble us for some action
We have nothing to offer as solution

We may not be able to talk of past
The days were counted to last
We were under somebody’s protection

Forgotten But Not Gone

Shes been good to me
Shes been as kind as a girl can be
But I get the feeling
She thinks that certain something is gone
Its the little things
Like the words to the songs she sings
Are a little different
And I can tell that Im not the one
Its just a matter of time

Don't Fall To Pieces

Feeding on the things you want,
Undaunted.
And doing it to flaunt?
With hopes to generate stares,
To delight in a doing of superficial taunts.
To prove whatever it is you think you do,
Excites.

Don't...
Fall to pieces.
Or be the one that weeps.
When you discover you are not the priority,
On anyone's mind...
You'd like to impress in the streets,
In clown declining times.
