Like a Decaying Tooth
Truth like a decaying tooth,
Hits a nerve if left ignored.
And eventually 'has' to come out.
Or continues to contaminate.
Until its pain shuts a moaning mouth.
And whether the tooth comes out or not...
The devastation can become so effective,
Folks refusing to correct the defects...
Are subjected to live their entire lives,
Relying on the inadequate taste of reality...
Based upon falsities,
With the naturalness of a substance missing.
And those left to gum through what is consumed,
Only dream in wishful thinking they could afford...
Getting a remembered bite back,
Once they took so much for granted.
Now observe they do so many trying to hide,
They too are going through the same process.
But consciously chose to be victims.

The Results Of Truth In Action
Never had I had the opportunity,
To have others rally in support...
Of my deluded accusations.
Nor have people rushed to my defense,
Based upon allegations I falsely made.
And after witnessing this in a process done,
By the ones who have had some come to their aid...
I can say with a gratefulness,
Happy am I that I have not been tempted...
To lie on others.
Paying the ultimate price,
To have time correct those wrongs to make right...
For those who have been victimized,
Does not achieve what deceivers expect...
When one's mental and physical health become subjected,
To live lives others can eventually see for themselves...
The results of truth in action.
Requiring little, if any, judgement needed to pass.
A payback delivered is in the proof of observation.

Tooth And Nail
I'm tired of all this cheap talk
When you walk next to me
They say I ain't good enough for you
Why don't they come and tell me
When they see us out in the night
They can't wait to tear us apart
Now I hear them saying lovin' you ain't right
Well they'd better be ready 'cause honey I'll be there
I will fight tooth and nail
Count on me, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
They say I'm always breaking promises
And I'm just fooling with you
Then they try and come between the two of us
Man, that's a bad thing to do
I can say I had more than enough
But I ain't gonna take it too hard
I said hey, they want to play rough
Well let's see who backs down when the trouble starts
I will fight tooth and nail
Count on me, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
Come on try me, I won't give in
They take advantage, but they can't win
I'll be your man, baby, wait and see
Ain't nobody, nobody take your love from me
I will fight tooth and nail
I was wrong, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
I'll be your man, baby, wait and see
Ain't nobody, nowhere take your love away from me
I will fight tooth and nail
Count on me, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
Right now, tooth and nail
I am waiting for the fight
Tooth and nail
Right now, c'mon, tooth and nail
Right now, tooth and nail
C'mon, tooth and nail
Ah fight
Tooth and nail
Right now, c'mon, tooth and nail

Paying Close Attention
What ammunition do 'I' use?
Truth.
Truth as I observe it to be.
You know...
The kind that I can see,
That is more real to me...
Than what someone else,
Wants to feed me as 'their' reality!
What ammunition do 'I' use?
Truth as I observe it to be.
And the process of effective listening.
You know...
Paying close attention.
Even to those unconscious.

A Tightwad Tooth Fairy Called Griselda
There was a tightwad tooth fairy
and Griselda was her name.
When you had your teeth out
and put them under the pillow
she would come along and pinch them
and leave nothing in return.
You would wake up in the morning;
look under your pillow for some dosh,
but under your pillow was empty there.
As you looked at the empty space,
you knew straight away
that Griselda the tightwad tooth fairy
had been about.
Complaints followed complaints
to fairly land
about this tightwad tooth fairy.
The fairy council
had never heard of such a thing.
A tightwad tooth fairy.
Oh, this could never be.
They had never had a case
of a tooth fairy leaving no money.
Something had to be done.
Griselda was called
and stood before the council
and asked to explain why
she was a tightwad
and left no money behind.
The miserly tooth fairy
thought for a moment.
She was saving some money
to buy herself a fairy yacht,
only it took a lot of teeth
to purchase one of them.
For her crimes,
she was sent to work with Santa’s Elves.
She sits in the toy factory
banging happily away,
because if the truth were known
she didn’t want to be a tooth fairy anyway.

Eugenia Todd
Have any of you, passers-by,
Had an old tooth that was an unceasing discomfort?
Or a pain in the side that never quite left you?
Or a malignant growth that grew with time?
So that even in profoundest slumber
There was shadowy consciousness or the phantom of thought
Of the tooth, the side, the growth?
Even so thwarted love, or defeated ambition,
Or a blunder in life which mixed your life
Hopelessly to the end,
Will like a tooth, or a pain in the side,
Float through your dreams in the final sleep
Till perfect freedom from the earth-sphere
Comes to you as one who wakes
Healed and glad in the morning!

The Scream
Relax, I only just want to drill a little,
And this silver tube will remove the spittle,
Then your mouth will feel nice and dry,
Ready for me to quickly try,
To tackle your damaged top side molar,
Yes, I will Inject it, to make if a 'polar
Region', nice and frozen, so you won't feel
A thing. Now there's no need to squeal
When I mend your tooth which you have broken.
GOSH! What a scream, you must have woken
Everyone within a radius of a mile,
Now don't you go and start to pile
On the agony, which isn't there,
I've only a few minutes to spare.
My other appointments are due, but I'm willing
To sort out your tooth by doing a filling,
Which is only using my drill and a bit of paste,
Now what is this, what's all the haste,
You can't just leave with the job not done,
You don't just jump up and start to run.
Your yelling has caused total chaos, in fact
The consequence is, it has had such an impact,
It's cleared my 'waiting room' the patients have left,
And it has left me all bereft.
Your filling has made me lose my cool,
Which is totally against the rule.
So if when next time your tooth you crack.
DON'T COME BACK! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

A Dream I Had
In the darkness of night I once had a dream
An escape from the terrors of the day
In my dream things were not as they seem
Things already gone in life had not gone away
You were still here with me
Holding me close to your heart
Your beautiful eyes I could see
The fire in my eyes began to start
The love you'd shown me was all I could feel
Your warmth against my ice cold skin
And when you left my heart turned to steal
No longer in my right mind to win.
I cannot win this fight without your strength
I've left my happiness behind
I travel down this long roads length
Searching for the savior of my mind
I pretend I'm strong enough outside
But in me I know the truth
My emotions are a raging tide
The sting of the bite with sharpened tooth
I ask you now as I've asked before
Come home to me if you can
My mind is shattered, my body sore
But if you're coming here still I stand
For now again I have no dreams
The nights filled with only the dark
For now the season's changed it seams
The winter fading the call of the lark
I shiver now in the cold ice and snow
Thinking of what I might have dreamed
Thinking of what I'll never know.

Burdened Is the One Who Knows Truth
Burdened is the one who knows truth.
An isolation occurs,
One has the nerve to adjust to and accept.
With little delusion left to live.
Some would say comments made like this are negative.
Until the onslaught of reality hits them quick.
And there is nothing positive they see in it.
With wishes to blame others to have it fixed.
To return back to a life that is fantasized.
Complete and sugarized.
But teardropping eyes like these...
Are going to clear when the masquerade is over.

Whose Truth Is Reality?
Whose truth is reality?
And why are the many eyes focused upon it,
Seeing reality quite differently?
With many refusing,
To believe in any of it at all.
It is odd how those say they do know God exist.
With bragging rights about their religious affiliations.
But ask one of them,
When was it they stepped out of their way...
Based solely on their faith?
Do you get a look in return that offends?
Or...
Do you get a sermon to hear,
With scriptures quoted...
To make their beliefs understood.
And for some reason...
Their carrying a Bible should make that clear?
And that question you had asked,
Goes unanswered.
As an excuse is made,
To leave from your presence...
As fast as they came.
And under their breath you are called a name.
People are not up to that task.
Disguising 'your' reality...
They prefer to hide,
Behind 'their' masks!
Whose truth is reality?
Really?
And why are the many eyes focused upon it,
Seeing reality quite differently?
With many refusing,
To believe in any of it at all.

Meditation Poem - A tooth
this body is a
tooth of existence
one among 32
but when it pains
it feels all 32
32 becomes one
this mind holds
the realm of existence
the body is
a pain of a tooth
numbing all others
you pull out the tooth
the other 31 look at you
and - smile

In An East End Hovel
To a Workman, a would-be Suicide
MAN of despair and death,
Bought and slaved in the gangs,
Starved and stripped and left
To the pitiful, pitiless night,
Away with your selfish thoughts!
Touch not your ignorant life!
Are there no masters of slaves,
Jeering, cynical, strong —
Are there no brigands (say),
With the words of Christ on their lips,
And the daggers under their cloaks —
Is there not one of these
That you can steal on and kill?
O as the Swiss mountaineer
Dogged on the perilous heights
His disciplined conqueror foes:
Caught up one in his arms
And, laughing exultantly,
Plunged with him to the abyss:
So let it be with you!
An eye for an eye, and a tooth
For a tooth, and a life for a life!
Tell it, this hateful strong
Contemptuous, hypocrite World,
Tell it that, if we must live
As dogs and as worse than dogs,
At least we can die like men!
Tell it there is a woe
Not for the conquered alone!
An eye for an eye, and a tooth
For a tooth, and a life for a life.

Excess Baggage
Well I know the words, but I cant really speak them
To you
And I hide all the pain that Ive gained with my wisdom
From you
And Im eaten alive, by what I hold inside
All the things that I live with I cant easily hide
And Im left here with nothing, nothing to live for
But you
Its not easy to hide
All this damage inside
Ill carry you with me
Until Im not alive
When you look at my face, does it seem just as ugly?
To you?
I cant seem to erase all the scars I have lived with
From you
Im so sick of this place
This taste in my mouth
Cause of you I cant figure what Im all about
And Im left here with nothing, nothing to live for
But you
Its not easy to hide
All this damage inside
Ill carry you with me
til Im not alive

Too Knowledgeable About Outcomes
What effective measures can be used,
To correct a devastation
By the ones who implemented,
What today everyone is forced to face.
Can one of incompetence self examine?
And if this is the case
Why was the devastation faced,
Not before in the doing stopped in its place?
What effective measures can be used,
To correct a devastation
By the ones who implemented,
What today everyone is forced to face.
If those indeed had wisdom to perceive,
What are they now believing
That can undo what has been achieved?
And under their watch has this happened.
While those insisting a deadend comes,
Are still shunned
To be too knowledgeable about outcomes.
And yet
Can not provide credentials to prove,
The origins of their training deemed unacceptable.
Although observations as they are,
Are dismissed as having no direct affect.
Unless someone can convince with no exceptions,
A scholarly approach has been spent to connect events.

To Feast On Deceit
Electing effective and honest lawmakers?
What a brilliant concept.
Is there still more pie left?
And,
Would this come before or after...
Many have chosen to feast on deceit.
And who would be left to accept the check?
Or can afford to leave admitting they are pleased.
The taste of the pie has too many addicted.

Mouth To Mouth
Your body grows more beautiful
With every move you make
Your body grows more beautiful
With every bite i take
You won't believe i love you
It's too stupid for words
So i lick your trembling lips
And use your hands to feed the birds
I laid with you for hours
Staring at your face
I laid with you for hours
Remembering your taste
And when the morning came
It splattered us in light
I think i left you sleeping there
I think i left you sleeping
Mouth to mouth - i asked you to stay
Mouth to mouth - but you're slipping away
Down seven stairs and first on the left
Arch your back and hold your breath
A million fat girls and a million fat man
Couldn't put me back together again.

Fugitives
Of course there are those,
Who oppose sweeping changes.
Many of them accustomed,
To maintaining a snob appeal.
With a stunning realization,
Their tactics to hide flaws and character degradations...
Behind insecurities they decided,
Would be best to divide...
Those in groups,
They duped to choose to demoralize.
Has them on the run.
And not for sport or fun to be done.
Now the experience of the clearing of the field...
Yields their debris.
And produces screams...
'Where is the justice?
Where is 'our' democracy? '
ATTENTION. ATTENTION!
Now hear this...
~On the field of your endeavors!
That's where the yielding exposes your deeds.
And 'rights' to exploit without insight.
Your democracy has been sold, '
To those overseas.~
Of course there are those,
Who enjoyed being 'they' and 'them'.
And to be subjected,
To effective disrespect...
Without definite identities.
Pleasing many of them,
To just lay low as victims.
In minority blends,
And considered non-entities.
A status that leaves many quite pleased.
That declaration keeps them hidden,
From accountability.
With fears their incompetence,
Would someday have a visibility.
And accusations shared,
Would no longer be a necessity.
As an openness,
Would set them free.
A freedom not before conceived.
*We are now free?
Why? *
And divisions between those of pretensions,
And those oppressed by deceitful deeds.
Eventually becomes more apparent,
As to who has been enslaved.
By lifestyles generated in dishonesty.
And who accepted scaps,
As a shallowing done...
While feasting on superficial greed.
Of course there are those,
Who oppose sweeping changes.
Of course there are those,
Who enjoyed being 'they' and 'them.
Now all affected have been left,
With addictions that transfixed.
In traumatic depression.
And a fear of reality,
That attacks their fantasies.
Fantasies fed.
And...
In their minds sit fixed!
All affected have been left.
In traumatic depression.
And fears of reality.
As fantasies kept deluded,
Refuses truth...
In the mix.
Standards and values are being attacked.
As they sit fixed in minds denying...
They are suspects.
And they are...
Fugitives left clue and witless.

Queen of Oars
There is a lasting benefit to growing up poor.
And dealing with the 'guts' of reality.
One carries a perception...
That to observe closely every detail of one's life,
A lot of time is saved from wishful thinking.
And before crime became one's sole purpose for living...
Those, in the early days of struggle,
Benefitted by not taking things for granted.
Like the basics...
Food.
Clothing.
And a roof over one's head.
Those were the days before fantasy became the rage!
Today...
Reality,
Like truth...
Is a thing people rather not discuss.
It is feared.
You can not show enough of it.
It still will not be believed...
As an anchor which rescues.
People purchase things they do not need,
Or can afford today.
But can buy with good credit.
Or what's left of it.
Having a plastic card without a dime in one's pocket...
Will throw a nose higher in the air,
In any shopping mall!
I overheard a conversation about the current devastation.
One was in total disbelief,
That the economy was bleeding.
The other was a woman who professed her hopes,
That the 'ship' would not sink!
She didn't appear to be cracked on dope.
She was going to shop for jewelry...
And look for bargains to purchase a 'mink'.
In July?
I could not help but think...
'She is not even blinking.
Poor thing!
She must be medicated to the brim.
At least to the brink.
Could she actually afford,
That kind of 'bling'? '
So many are living in a world they ignore.
And I approach to interrupt,
Those two in discussion.
And without apology I stated...
'I have a message for you both.
Your ship 'is' sinking.
Believe it...get a row boat.
Neither one of you need a mink.
Even delusions will not float.
One of you I annoint, Queen of Flights of Fancy.
The other I declare, Queen of Oars.
The crew will never be bored! '
Of course...
I had no choice but to leave immediately.
When they both began to scream loudly,
For security!
And I did not feel guilty at all...
As I continued to stalk the mall!
Observing those treasuring their packaged 'things'.
Unaware of their dwindling dreams!
In times that seem...
So remarkably bewitched.
As I amuse myself surrounded,
By so many who have been...
With their materialisms addicted!
Inspired by:
One of the most positive thinking people I know...
Frances Jeffrey McAlpine Sharp
Hartford, Connecticut
'Thank you, Ms Frances.
You are, indeed, a gift of inspiration.
Yes, we have had our 'moments'
However...
I can not deny you are 'blessed'.
