Lessons Yet To Learn
That one who comes,
Appearing to block our way.
May just be the one...
Who affords us more time,
To clarify our own journey.
With a wider vision,
Of that path to view all obstacles.
Not to stop us.
But to strengthen what it is,
We rush with a desire.
Dripping with ambition...
But leaving a completion of thought,
Loosened by an outcome,
That skips over lessons yet to learn.
Maturity is not a given.
A maturity received is earned.

Butterfly, The Creature of Change and Survival
I grow,
I struggle,
I am not nurtured,
Nor cared for,
I learn the harsh lessons,
Of Life,
Alone.
Then,
Satisfied in my growth,
Having learnt my lessons,
I gain maturity,
I am ready,
For change.
I build walls,
Around myself,
To protect,
This change,
For change I must.
I hang,
Waiting patiently,
Change must occur,
For what else is left?
I push now,
I am impatient,
I have waited,
Long enough,
It is time.
I’ll show this world,
That I can survive.
One side of me,
Is exposed to the world,
Then another,
Slowly at first,
For I do not wish to shock,
Only to dazzle.
Released am I,
Free,
Free to show myself,
In all my glory,
In all my splendor.
For I have changed,
I am now,
Who I’m meant to be,
I am finally me.
So, fear not change,
It comes naturally,
Be brave,
Learn well,
And when,
The time comes,
Be free.

When A Maturity Much Needed Is Sought And Begins
All foolishness started between us will end,
When a maturity much needed is sought and begins.
Those games chosen to play,
To protect insecurities...
Needing to be chased away,
Are nothing more than childish pranks.
Overdue for a ridding...
Instead of pursuing them to please,
A mental dysfunction to outdo and out rank.
I've lost all attraction to play games like that.
I will return your calls.
But a tolerance of a nonsense initiated,
I no longer accept at all.
What point is made,
By a charading done to masquerade?
And in these days we live call for a seriousness.
With my desire to continue on like this...
Leaving you behind with the times I will not miss.
All foolishness started between us will end,
When a maturity much needed is sought and begins.

Proud To Exist To Witness Possibilities
I am glad I represent a generation aging.
With an acceptance to reminisce and reflect,
Upon the times I have been blessed to remember.
I am glad to be able to think with a thought process,
That connects with a wish to daily adventure.
And welcome a maturity I have earned.
With all that being conscious of it has to offer.
Although I will admit,
A loneliness when so many are dismissing...
There are phases of life that should be natural.
And understood with observations undenied.
And moving forward instead of backwards.
Or remaining down to earth unchanged.
As many aging with their delusions intact,
Would like to claim with a sameness of sanity.
But isn't that what stagnation is?
A stubbornness that is fixed in place.
With ways that begin to collect ignored dust.
And being stagnant and stale, unchanged...
Is something I don't consider fresh or impressive.
Or sparkles as if proud to exist to witness possibilities.
Not if one is to grow and experience what life is.
Or come to realize this adventure isn't here to last forever.
I am glad I represent a generation aging,
With an acceptance.
I am glad to be able to think with a thought process,
That connects with a wish to daily adventure.
And welcome a maturity I have earned.
With all that being conscious of it has to offer,
As a life I have learned to live...
To appreciate, explore and not take for granted.

Journey Towards Light
Walking on the road, I realized something amiss
On turning my back I saw my shadow had disappeared
Leaving me all alone in my journey towards light;
I searched for my companion everywhere
But to my grief he got lost somewhere in darkness
Leaving me all alone in my journey towards light
I don’t know how to pursue my journey without him?
Scared enough to take a step ahead
But determined to achieve my goal I began to walk
Not caring for obstacles and darkness in my path.
After reaching at the end of dark tunnel
I saw a ray of light
My happiness knew no bounds
But there came a voice from somewhere
And it was of my companion shadow
He told me, “My friend your journey in light has just begun
Keep following your path towards wisdom and you shall
Achieve your goal”.
Indeed he was right.
My journey towards light has just begun and
It’s a Long way before I reach my destination.
Not Deterred By Your Point Of View
It is not my purpose in life,
To advise you on 'your' direction.
Or suggest which path to take,
On your journey.
Nor from me will there be recommendations.
If it should upset you,
That my vision remains focused...
And not deterred by your point of view,
Keep this in mind...
You are not my destination.
However...
It does appear that you are an obstacle,
That wishes to block my mission...
With a stirring up of my feelings of guilt,
With a delay of an empathy you await to be given.
You've done a good job.
All is not lost.
I passed a few procrastinators,
Along on my journey.
Be patient.
Someone will eventually buy your nonsense.
As for me...
Your routine is too familiar.

The Watchers
Why should we fear the alien?
who seem to be observing us.
I fear much more my fellow men
It seems to me ridiculous.
That we assume hostility
of which there’s little evidence.
Perhaps the strange craft which we see
are merely on reconnaissance.
They’re tasked to watch the human race
but not allowed to interfere
. For some signs of maturity.
They are afraid that we draw near
to having the technology.
Which will enable us to spread
from our small island galaxy.
A happening they view with dread.
They know we are belligerent.
We have been watched for centuries
The fear the threat that we present.
We’re quarantined like some disease.
These monitors form outer space
who keep a wary eye on us.
Are right to fear the human race.
They are not merely curious.
Despite the progress man has made
to them we lack maturity...
They have good cause to be afraid
we threaten their security..
They have the right to be afraid
of human ingenuity.
Perhaps in time we’ll make the grade
when we attain maturity.
Man is his own worst enemy
he sees each stranger as a foe
and meets him with hostility.
We dare not let our own fear show.
Why should we fear the alien.
There is no reason for alarm
They do not act like other men
why should we fear that they mean harm..

Mistakes Are Expected To Be Made
Would it be worth it to reverse and redo,
Those mistakes I've made along the way?
For purposes to correct,
What today I am better to convey?
With a maturity that is assured.
And with a humility I've learned to display?
Many times I have thought about this.
As I reminisced those lessons,
I should have grasped but dismissed.
And IF it was a possibility,
To correct and perfect my blemishes...
Flaws and imperfections,
Others inspected and criticized!
My life would not be as fulfilling.
Since my time would be occupied...
With making excuses and creating alibis.
And I would have been limited to sit in fear.
And I thank God,
It was not the fear of obstacles...
That have kept my steps blessed.
It was faith and prayer that made me aware...
I was just one of many artists,
Assigned to do my part...
To add onto this living canvas,
We've come to call life to live and give.
And mistakes are expected to be made.
With attempts in the wrong direction,
Only God forgives if we ask of Her or Him...
Or Both,
To be forgiven!

Iam Never Quiting,
Iam Never Quiting,
Iam Never Quiting,
This STAR is able to see Maturity,
In this LIFE,
All the Greatness that God gave to Humanity,
I received this Image with a Meaning,
That we are Surpassing History,
A New Idea is Coming,
When Mankind will Face Eternity Rather than Death,
In all LOVELY that is upon most Souls,
This is the Revelation of a Moment,
When the Great Men will Never QUIT,
Follow TRUTH and see this DAY not a Quit,
It is my Breath that made this Day,
Let it Breathe and Turn Day's to Maturity than Ignorance,
LOVE than Racism,
All Races won with LOVE,
No more spirits from not UNDERSTANDING the WORD,
It came and now it is seen withing Human Face,
That most of us Never Understood what the King Meant,
What the Teacher gave to the Rest of Mankind.

Something Dumb Did
One's ability to purchase and acquire things,
Does not bring one into the center ring...
Of maturity.
To bow and be acknowledged under spotlight.
It's the letting go,
Without the screaming.
It's the absence of demeaning others.
With accusations to place and erase,
One's motivation to exit in escape.
With a taking of one's own steps made,
In the acceptance of mistakes.
A maturity arrives that enlightens one's life.
With no anticipation done.
To secure a maturity when it comes.
When someone realizes something dumb did...
Is the winning of a beginning of control one holds.
With emotions kept in balance.
On shoulders one can show so bold.
It's the letting go,
Without the screaming.
It's the absence of demeaning others.
With accusations to place and erase,
One's motivation to exit in escape.
When someone realizes something dumb did...
With emotions kept in balance.
On shoulders one can show so bold.
A maturity takes over.
One that is seen that needs not to be sold.

Agenda's of the journey
Agenda's of the Journey
Dust dominates the horizon,
Seldom to the season have I withered under the morning star?
The bridge of hope stands firm today,
My chest fills with air!
The path cracks, gash, wounded over time,
If I was to have know the outcome,
I would prefer to journey the bottom of the sea,
Yet,
She inflames the currents,
Thrusting back waves on a raft,
Against the ocean, against the outcome, under the morning star,
She causes my face to invade with a smile
(V – 2010) To Risha Ahmed
(With Love, Admiration and Best Wishes)

You need now learn no prosody
You embody true poetry
Your poetry is really free!

Your rhymes & themes with time vary
You proceed but with modesty
Your future you can guarantee!
Of Poetry, O Prodigy!
Your age will grow your ability
Your heart will light your journey, see
Your writings light humanity!
Foreordained?
I suffer from a malady
And have done since I first drew breath
I know this for a certainty.
The end result will be my death.
Why should I let this worry me?
I know that I have died before.
My soul will live eternally.
Each time I die I'm born once more.
Each life I must learn something new.
Something I have not learned before.
One life insufficient to
add enough knowledge to my store.
I must return again to learn
Each life I have to start anew
To garner credits which I earn
By doing what I have to do.
I can't access my memories.
I start each life with a clean sheet.
And build up knowledge by degrees.
Like other men I must compete.
To earn my place and gain respect.
It is entirely up to me.
There is no way I can expect
To earn my merits easily.
The obstacles I overcome.
Will be recorded faithfully.
Although I score the minimum..
I still progress although slowly.
Life is a journey all must make.
Although there is no urgency.
About the speed or road we take.
Because we have eternity.
We live we die we are reborn.
Always to different circumstance.
To poverty or else high born.
Each life provides another chance.
To move on towards the light.
Where we will know as we are known.
And gain the power of wingless flight.
Because we are at last full grown.
The journey to maturity.
We undertake at our own pace.
We can choose slowly or swiftly.
Until we reach the trysting place.
We will return from whence we came.
And become part of the oversoul.
We'll have succeeded in our aim.
To merge must be our final goal.

Without A Drumroll Or A Cheering Audience
I was still in my early twenties,
When I felt I had earned my doctorate's degree.
After I had graduated from elementary school,
I had already received my 'bachelor's'.
I was taught to be accountable,
For every responsible action I made.
I did not have a childhood.
I had chores and responsibilities.
And had been a latchkey child by the age of 5.
That was before the innocence of children,
Were identified to be protected and realized.
I was taught to value independence....first!
I was still in my early twenties,
When I felt I had earned my doctorate's degree.
Married, divorced and a military veteran...
I knew my life had excelled through a course,
To experience early such maturity.
And that wasn't a choice!
But more like a marriage of enforcement.
And my tolerance for those who are ignorant is low.
Extremely!
Especially when I've seen people pull themselves up,
Out of places few would dare to go.
Without a drumroll or a cheering audience to encourage.
With so many today wasting their minds and time,
Debating their entitlements while sitting on wide behinds...
Expecting a delivery of some kind they did not earn.

Sagittarian arrow
flew to true finality:
blue eyes opened, and the tree
of life fresh g[r]ain could sow.
Although the future none now know
‘make most of opportunity’
remains a motto all should see,
magnets success, so mark its glow.
Maturity? - Joy’s overflow!
Temptations base must always be
nipped in the bud when spirit free
defies authority, and so
maturity youth’s promise will
comfort, reinforce, instill.

Odyssey of the Soul
Childhood falls
Suffocated by lies
Promises of tomorrow
Trade the dreams of today
Consumer chase begins
A little piece of beauty
Sacrificed to adulthood
Wonder, Imagination
Don’t leave me now
Vanishing days
Carelessly slip away
Time and tide dispels
All childlike things
Life becomes dimmer
Too old for fun
Fun is fun it’s ageless
It is just fun, and its free
Maturity, yes maturity
Ever seen the world
Is this maturity?
I must act my age
My spirit rises before me
So many seasons, so much time
Eyes searching for a sign
Doesn’t anyone realise
Mistaken we equate childishness
For the gift of being childlike
Age straps on the chains
We become a worldling
Stolen childhood, silently
Lost Along the way
Childlike observations
Were not meant to wither
Imagination crushed by facts
Dreaming dreams, just dreams
Dreams worth coming true
This too will pass, with age
Who would have thought
walking between rain drops
would become silly
Capturing the frosted
Cobwebs on a twig
restricted to the young
Imagination, imagination
when did it happen
was I distracted
full of self wisdom
unaware that now begins
the oddyssey of the soul
the long trek home
to my Father’s arms

Selecting Which Ones To Fry
It has been a long time,
Since I've tested wings to fly.
Now when I choose to soar,
I feel I must spy to see who is near by...
Doing the wing clippings.
And selecting which ones to fry.
There are too many jealous wishing to pluck feathers.
It seems as if I have to waste my time,
Multi-tasking.
And I have not been asked,
To clarify a thing from my point of view.
It is assumed what I do I have done,
Without obstacles!
And watching for those have kept my flight afloat.

A Life Journey!
Ignorance is darkness of cave under ocean!
Fear ever rules the mind of darkness sure!
Knowledge is power of Sun over life ever....!
Knowledge of all things is Stars of Universe!
Exploring this Universe is joy endless ever!
But journey sans destination is blind adventure
Leading one nowhere but to disillusionment only!
Fast accrual of all knowledge begins journey first;
Vision based on full knowledge gives whole picture;
Ambition then based on vision leads to achievement!
This life ambition only can make life enthusiastic,
Lead life journey with a purpose never deviating!
So, knowledge journey reveals all truths unknown
And also realize ultimate reality to be one with all!
