Learned Not to Celebrate Setbacks

It's not that I do not wish to hear,
Of your discoveries.
It's just that I have learned,
Not to celebrate setbacks.
The ones many are finding...
With a wish to correct!
And that neglect which now disturbs them.

I'm glad your eyes are finally open.
However...
I must move on.
Since I do not desire,
To become irritated...
By something you see,
You believe I have not already observed.
I've been challenged to leave behind my bitterness.
And to live that life I deserve.
Freed of repeated BS.
With a joy felt that comes,
When I say, 'No! '

I Felt Freed

One day I awakened,
And there was an insignificance I sensed,
From yesterday!
That cleared the morning air.

There was something about my life,
That had arrived and I liked.
Appearing in my sight...
With such a happiness I could not ignore.
It was there to make certain,
I had been aware.

And whatever to me was done and/or said,
Before I laid my head down in my bed...
Prepared to flee.
Somehow this was unknown to me.

And when I had awakened it had fled!
No longer to me to be important.
To address as my priorities.
And I felt freed!
I felt freed.
I felt...
Freed!

To live a life much more motivated.
With a quest to face challenges...
I now seek and dare!
As opportunities to prove...
I can move anything off my path,
That isn't of benefit and doesn't belong there!

And I felt freed!
I felt freed.
I felt...
Freed!

Move On

I finally can write,
I finally can draw,
I'm so glad that,
I'm finally through with it all.

I can be free,
I can be me.
I can be myself,
And nobody else.

No matter what I thought,
I was mistaken,
Because of some rare occasion,
That occurred I was taken.

Of all the things I'd like to do,
I'm so glad I'm through with you,
But I still want you as a friend,
And that friendship,
Not to break or bend.

And I will go on,
And seek it through,
So don't wait for me,
Like I won't you.

It's over,
And I'm glad,
But it seems,
You're still sad.

But now I feel,
Like I can do,
Anything real,
So good luck to you.

Find another girl,
To change your open world,
Although right now I'm free,
I only want to be me.

The first love can never last,
Because you have to learn from your past,
And move on,
Just move on.

I Am Here to See You Through

Take from my heart,
All that you want.
All that you need.
Don't leave displeased.

And start your new day,
Freed from you tears.
Your dreams and wishes...
Keep near,
Don't fear.

And just,
Keep your eyes open wide.
And don't deny those tears you cry.
To keep from living a lie!

Take from my hands,
All that you want.
All that you need.
Don't leave displeased.

I am not,
The one always correct.
Or someone who thinks I know what's best.

I am not,
The one less than I am.
For you I'll do all that I can...
To see that you get through.

I am not,
The one always correct.
Or someone who thinks I know what's best.
I'm here to do and prove to you,
I'm here to see you through.

So from my heart...
Take,
All that you want.
All that you need.
Perceive and believe,
That I...
Am here to see you through!
And I...
Am here to be with you.
That's all I wish to do!

Celebrate

Act of love
Is a luxury
The suit he wears
Belongs to me
The road is long
Seven thousand miles
Soldier talk
And uniform
We can live
I can live
Celebrate
Celebrate
We can live
I can live
Celebrate
Celebrate
She rag doll
Keeps him warm
This negative
Shows no form
He salutes the crowd
Go west young man
Run run run
The hollow man
We can live
I can live
Celebrate
Celebrate
We can live
I can live
Celebrate
Celebrate
To a distant land
Sand and sand
Touch to touch
A marble man
The house is glass
Furnitures chrome
Soldier talk
And uniform
We can live
I can live
Celebrate
Celebrate
We can live
I can live
Celebrate
Celebrate

I'm Glad Somebody Does!

May your memories be greater...
On this day.
This day...
You can say,
Brought you into this 'now' from yesterday.
You can say that...and,
You can say anything you wish.
Say something about what you think,
Is missed!
And you hold onto a desire it can be retreived.
But you have to leave the scenery behind.
It's outdated.

You have walked down that path.

It's okay to have those kinds of memories,
When they do not linger.
They are enjoyed when they do come...
And the going away isn't painful.
Even in the bitterness then...
There shouldn't be any bitterness,
To cling onto now.

May your memories be greater...
On this day.
This day...
You can say,
Brought you into this 'now' from yesterday.

You have walked down that path...
How many times before?
No need to quizz and analyze yourself.
Know you've donated and done your duty.
And just step!
Slowly away if you have to tip toe,
But just step!

Then...
When your memories can actually spark,
With a radiance you can only describe as...
A sense of complete joy within you.
Bouncing another step forward,
And enhancing...
Then 'kazaam!

The power of doubt begins to shade the Sun,
And cloud the blue sky!
Then suddenly the thunder roars,
And the lightening strikes.
Leaving you in an indecisive state of mind!

'I hate that shhh..'

Shhhh! !

You may say anything you wish,
About 'this' and 'that'.
And who should have washed the dishes!
And who was reponsible for letting out the cat?

Comeon!
You can only have it so good!

Then it dawns on you,
Something you think you might have missed...
Can someday be retreived.
You might believe that...
But you have to leave the scenery behind.
It's outdated.
Clip and paste it.
Put it in a safe place in your mind!

You know what I'm saying?
You do?

'I'm glad somebody does! '
Yes...
I'm glad somebody does!

May your memories be greater today,
Than the ones you are feeling freer to let go.
Let them go...
To be among the others,
You have chosen to pick.
From a wealth of good ones.

'Why did they laugh at you? '

When? Laugh? Who?

'When you repeated what I said...
'I'm glad somebody does.'

They were laughing at you,
And that 'snide' remark!

'What 'snide' remark?
They couldn't see or hear me! '

Meet My Maker

This is where I'll meet my maker tonight
So this is it
This is my life
This is my time
It's ending tonight
I made my mistakes
I tried to live right
Stepped out of the darkness into the light
And when I'm gone
Will they remember
Will they mourn
Will they move on
When my sad songs for lonely son
His time has come his life is done
And tonight
We'll celebrate the end
Of this life
And we'll sing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Whhooaa aaooohh
It's alright
this is a night like we've began
With open arms
This is the way
The way I'll meet my maker tonight
And on my grave
What will it say?
Here lies another soul that was saved
So please don't cry
Just sleep at night
And I will wait on the other side
And tonight
we'll celebrate the end
Of this life
And we'll sing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Whooaahh ooohhh
It's alright
This is a night like we've began
With open arms
This is the way
The way I'll meet my maker tonight
And tonight
We'll celebrate the end
Of this life
And we'll sing
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Whooaaa ooohh
It's alright
This is a night like we've began
With open arms
This is the way
The way I'll meet my maker tonight
Whhoooaaa oohhh [x12]
Lost and broken, hopeless and lonely. Smilin on the outside. But hurt beneath my skin. My eyes are fadin. My soul is bleedin. Ill try to make it seem ok, but my faith is wearin' thin.
So help me heal these wounds. Leave it open for way too long. Help me fill this hole, even though this is not your fault. That Im open, and I'm bleedin, all over your brand new rug. And I need someone to help me sew them up.
I only wanted a magazine. I only wanted a movie screen. I only wanted the life I read about and dreamed. And now my mind is an open book. And now my heart is an open wound. And now my life is an open soul for all to see.
But help me heal these wounds. Leave it open for way too long. Help me fill this hole, even though this is not your fault. That I'm open, and I'm bleedin, all over your brand new rug. And I need someone to help me.
So you come along. I push you away. Then kick and scream for you to stay. Cuz I need someone to help me, oh I need someone to help me, to help me heal these wounds, leave it open for way too long, help me fill this hole.
Even though this is not your fault, that I'm open, and I'm bleedin, all over your brand new rug, and I need someone to help me sew them, I need someone to help me fill them, I need someone to help me close them up.

He Comes Knowing

He comes knowing he is challenged.
He has live his entire life...
Challenged.
Disciplined and observant.

Do you think he is oblivious to the obvious?
And living in a preferred time zone.
Comforted by hidden insecurities...
And deluded by the absence of practiced truths?

He comes knowing he is challenged.
He has live his entire life...
Challenged.
Disciplined and observant.

Do you believe,
One who has been made to feel an 'outsider'...
Does not perceive,
Who receives him as he is!
Amongst those who are quick...
To ridicule him with their negative judgements.

He comes knowing he is challenged.
He has live his entire life...
Challenged.
Disciplined and observant.

And...
He is guided by the 'Divine'!
In time,
You will discover that.

He comes knowing he is challenged.
And knowing he does...
What will and must take place,
To clean up disgraceful traces left,
By those who have lived their entire lives unchallenged...
Thoughtless.
And,
Born to feed their greed!

Prepare...
For the 'We Can and 'We Will'
Winds of change to blow,
Dramatically across the land!
And free of addicting pollutants.

Celebrate Me Home

Home for the holidays,
I believe Ive missed each and every face,
Come on and play my music,
Lets turn on the love light in the place
Its time I found myself,
Totally surrounded in your circles
Whoa, my friends
Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
That Ill always remember,
And I can recall,
Whenever I find myself too all alone,
I can sing me home.
Uneasy highway,
Traveling where the westerly winds can fly,
Somebody tried to tell me,
But the men forgot to tell me why,
I gotta count on being gone,
Come on woman, come on daddy,
Be what you want from me,
Im this strong, Ill be weak
Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
That Ill always remember,
I can recall,
Whenever I find myself too all alone,
I can make believe Ive never gone,
I never know where I belong,
Sing me home.
Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate, celebrate
Celebrate me home
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Well Im finally here,
But Im bound to roam,
Come on celebrate me home
Well Im finally here,
But Im bound to roam,
Come on celebrate me home
Well Im finally here,
But Im bound to roam,
Come on celebrate me home
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
Please, celebrate me home,
(fade)

One Step At a Time

Challenged.
To face my own insecurities.
And see them for what they are.

Challenged I am with brutal honesty.
With the intent to pick them apart.
I am ready to breathe freely.

Challenged...
Yes!
But today I am not defensive.
Or offended by the time I have taken,
To get to this point in my life.
With habits I will address next.
But for now...
I am satisfied,
To be able to take one step at a time.
This life is mine.
And I am finally fine with it!

Life Is A Celebration

I was lost on a winding road
I thought that life had nothing left to give
Then you came and showed me that just to live
Was the greatest gift of all
And you showed me
Life is a celebration
And lord, Im gonna celebrate
Dont you know that life is a celebration
So come on now and celebrate, celebrate
Life is a celebration
Look its a revelation
So celebrate now, celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now, celebrate life, yeah
How could I have been so blind?
Just to think that we were living to die
Then you came along and I was no longer alone
And you lead me to the light
And you showed me
Life is a celebration
And lord, Im gonna celebrate
Dont you know that life is a celebration
So come on now and celebrate, celebrate
Life is a celebration
Look its a revelation
So celebrate now, celebrate life, yeah
Celebrate now, celebrate life, yeah
And you showed me life is a celebration
And lord, Im gonna celebrate
Dont you know that life is a celebration
So come on now and celebrate, celebrate
Life is a celebration
Look its a revelation
So celebrate now, celebrate life, yeah

Celebrate, celebrate life

Eyes Wide Open

Your eyes are wide open, but yet you don’t see
All the love I have inside of me.
Eyes wide open, but you don’t look around
You don’t open your ears, you don’t hear a sound.

Eyes wide open but the beauties that surround you
Do not seem to exist.
Is it that your eyes on you are playing tricks?

Eyes wide open and yet you have a blank stare.
Have you closed off your mind?
Or you just don’t care.

What can I do to remove that haze
So that on my face you can gaze.
If I hold you tenderly in my arms
And kiss those beautiful eyes.
Will they move? Will they cry?

What must I do so that you can see
That our love was meant to be.
They say that you went deep inside yourself
To hide the hurt and pain
But without your love “ I am the same”.

Eyes wide open. Did they just glance at me?
Is it because your heart is finally free?
I see a tear forming in your eyes
Emotions being let out that you tried to hide.

Eyes wide open- now they are mine
I can see your love for the very first time.

Finding it-LOVE

Finding it is so hard and is rare
Finding it sometimes takes years
Finding it is something that should be handled with care
Finding it can bring you laughter instead of tears
Finding it can make you happy and free
Finding it can open the LOVE in your heart
Finding it will open your eyes to see

That one you do find it, you will see it has done its part

Smile!

Smile,
Look at the sky,
Forget about everything and just,
Smile!

Laugh,
Open your mouth,
And throw back your head and just,
Laugh!

Dance,
Move your body to the music,
Or move to the rhythm of silence and just,
Dance!

Sing,
Open your heart,
Let out all your thoughts and just,
Sing!

Speak,
Say hi to people you know,
Open a conversation with people you don't and just,
Speak!

Run,
No one can fence you in,
Move your feet one in front of the other and just,
Run!

Love,
Like you have nothing to be ashamed of,
Take someone in your arms and just,
Love!

Dream,
You can do anything you want to,
Keep hope, reason, and will, and just,
Dream!

Live,
Today and tomorrow and the next day,
No matter when it ends make it worth it, and just,
Live!

Believe,
Know what you know and share what you think,
No one can bring you down if you just,
Believe!

Celebrate,
Everything and anything,
It's all in your life and that's a reason to just,
Celebrate!

Fly,
Lift your arms with joy and hope,
Spread the wings of your heart and just,
Fly!

Listen,
If your interested or not,
These are the voices of others like you just,
Listen!

Trust,
That no one and everyone should have that chance,
Give everyone it to everyone and just,
Trust!

See,
Not only with your eyes but your mind,
With your body, spirit, and soul, just,
See!

It's not hard to be happy.
One simple choice.
One god given right of 'pursuit of happiness'.
One choice to look at things and just,
SMILE! : D

Willful Neglect

In youth I often wished on stars
I thought the largest ones came true.
But longing never got me far
So wishing ceased, long overdue.
As I matured and ventured out
Into a world so alien.
A lesson learned I had no doubt
Was always take it on the chin.
In life there are setbacks galore
A definite fact to expect
So never sit and wish for more
Since wishing is willful neglect.
When in life your dreams are plenty
Strive for them, fools wish for many.

Not A Photocopy Or A Transparency

I do not need an answered survey,
To review responses...
As if I do not know details or understand,
What my life has been like.
And first hand.

I've known each day,
About those obstacles that have come my way.
And what it is I must do.
And who it is I must fight!

Forget those graphs with statistics crafted.
My eyes have been wide open,
Despite of outsiders...
Giving their opinions to convince others,
Information gathered...
Is a life I've known to live,
Whether wrong or right.

I've lived my life and not in hiding.
Day and night,
And for a number of years.

I am not a photocopy or a transparency.
Every emotion I feel is real,
Here inside of me.
And when I get upset with my feelings hurt...
It is up to me to know,
To what degree I've got to heal.

I do not need an answered survey,
To review responses...
As if I do not know or understand,
What my life has been like.
And first hand.

I've known each day,
About those obstacles that have come my way.
And what it is I must do.
And who it is I must fight!

Everyday since my birth,
Here on Earth...
I've observed and felt and grew.
And all of the experiences I have obtained...
I've learned more than one lesson!
I've learned quite a few.

And with each day I am blessed to live,
God has granted me the wisdom...
To know what it is,
And what it takes...
For me to succeed and complete,
Whatever it is that I must do to feel upbeat.

I am not on the sidelines,
Observing to be entertained.
I am an active participant and involved...
No matter who says what,
Or with unsolicited authority...
May say or claim!
I am 'me'.
Regardless of those labels attached to my name.

Our Freedom Is An Individual

at the end of all those perorations
you enter your room passing by the mirror on the wall
at the side of your door
you pass slowly upon the image of yourself
finding your own view of the world
correct, unique
you must affirm that very basic principle
it is your life that you are going to live
and nobody else's life
it will just be once, there is no repetition then
of that error if that be
of that correctness, if it must be,
you look at your hands
you open it to see the lines of your palms
closely your eyes gaze upon
these destinies
that choose you
you are after all
free and must follow the path that you see
in there
there is no one else
just you

Leaders Of The Neighborhood

Why didn't they move on?
Accept reality for what it is.
Instead of paying ridiculous amounts of money,
To have their own homes torn down?

'Someone came around a few years ago,
With a plan to convince them...
If they threatened to do this,
The people would get the hint...
And beg them to stay.
To do whatever they wished in the neighborhood.'

Well...
Hopefully they have learned a lesson.

'Apparently not from what is being observed.
Because those very same people,
Have organized themselves.
To protest the others...
Until they are welcomed back.'

That is nonsense.
It is obvious the people,
Were delighted they did that.

'Nonsense?
That's crazy!
Now they are petitioning the local government,
And have begun an advertising campaign...
To enforce the people into believing,
Without their influence as leaders...
The entire neighborhood,
Would be a place no one would desire to live.'

It is amazing what people will do,
To inflict their delusions on others.

'I'm glad you said that.
But today?
Many more are seeing,
Who has been initiating the conflicts.'

Not Determined By Group Effort

There is one important aspect,
I have learned in the living of my life.
And that is to live it to its fullest.
Regardless of who says what,
With comments to make...
As if my steps made seeks their approval.
Or critical judgements passed to hear,
If I do not impress with them first to address it.
I have learned to live my life,
With the telling of those of what they can do.
AND...
If they do not like those choices I have made.
It took me a long time to learn this in perspective...
The living of my life is not determined by group effort.
With the hopes that my doings...
Are only suitable and aimed towards them to please.
It's not them I thank...I thank God on daily basis,
For opening my eyes to finally awaken.
With the distinct smelling of coffee...
With cream and sugar in a cup and enjoying it.
To sip at my leisure for as long as I choose.

Woman, You Deserve More

Woman, you deserve more than flowers.
You deserve more than vows.
You deserve more than that ring,
Woman, you deserve more than love

The beauty in your eyes
Woman you deserve more than tender touches
The beauty of your voice
Woman you deserve more than kisses

Dear you deserve more,
something unseen, someone untouchable
More than gold, more than diamonds triple fold
Trust me, you deserve more
