Layers to Peel
Living life is much like,
Removing layers to peel that reveals.
Everyday there is something fresh unknown.
To leave many to admit,
They have not yet to experience.
Even the challenge to release ourselves,
From regret can be a relief.
Once it has been decided to let go of beliefs,
That inhibit a strict resistance.
With a letting of God control and command,
Clearing our paths to open a broader understanding.

In the Letting Go
In the letting go,
A freedom unknown
Becomes as welcomed
As fresh falling snow...
On Pine trees green.
In the letting go,
A release becomes sacred
To experience,
As an unpolluted breeze...
To breathe a feeding done easily.
In the letting go,
One knows a life has arrived to be explored.
In the letting go...
An unexpected flow,
Connects.
To all.
And all that is there to be shared,
Comes.
To the one letting go to let life be as it is,
To live as wished!
Without restricted limits inflicted.
In the letting go,
So much that isn't within reach...
Instantly becomes available to touch.
In the letting go,
There is such a thing called living.

Regrets Of My Life
i have not passed the paths that you have
taken, those that please the skin of your feet,
i never for once, did not pass through them,
i never heard the laughter of the vagabonds,
danced with the gypsies, made love with the
buxom girls, listened to the guitars strummed
by singing men under the golden moon,
by the side of the river, with the coolness of the
trees, the spreading grasses as pillows
of the happy nights.
i regret taking my journey alone, the paths winding,
the climb too steep, the mountains too high,
the cliffs too dangerous, my nights had been
sleepless, the winds too harsh, my life too lonely,
for such a young age, the years should have been
spent frolicking in the woods, swimming in the river,
sailing the seas, conquering the fears, clearing the
shorelines, taking control of what what was there before.
i regret shaping my face to those frowning models.
i regret not having sung my favorite songs under the rain.
i regret not wasting my life to the bitterness of goodbyes.
i regret living a life of abundance and yet empty.
My spirit sighs, my hands not holding for something that must last.
My heart still thirsts, my mind still hungers.

Much Deeper Than What Is Shown
There are layers of living one's life,
Complex.
That will not be easy to peel away to reveal...
What has been lived as one might suspect!
To scratch beneath a crust thought thin,
With a hope to match,
A few moments given...
To a belief thought easy to satisfy,
A curiosity to probe and pry...
Can not be applied!
Not to this specimen...
Thought to be light,
Of a wind...
One can stand against and defend.
There are layers of living one's life,
Complex.
That will not be easy to peel away to reveal...
What has been lived as one might suspect!
That which appears to sit alone as stone...
May show what's on a surface,
Something much deeper.
Much deeper...
Than what is shown!
Deeper, deeper still...
Than what is believed to be known!

Living It Will Be The Experience
Oh yeah...prove it!
You are always picking things apart,
To try to find something wrong.
Why can't you play along?
Oh yeah...prove it!
You seem to see life as negative.
And can not accept what is as is.
I hear you do this...
All night and day long!
Why can't you play along?
'I am not into games that remain the same.
Nor truth do I ignore!
If I witness something I question...
My mind will find answers,
To further in my mind be explored.
You see...
Poverty and homelessness,
In the midst of those who are rich.
To me is a sickness,
Of one's consciousness.
If observing this is allowed to exist!
People professing how great they are...
As they steal from others and watch them starve.
To me is a human tragedy.
And I don't accept this as how life should be!
I think of those who say they have faith,
But live everyday in fear...
Are fakes.
And I will be blasphemous and say...
Whatever 'that' is they pray to,
It isn't God!
Not the One I listen to and obey!
For truth and understanding to come my way.
And hypocrites who wish for materialistic dreams...
Are nothing more than opportunists,
Hoping to benefit from their lieing and deceitful schemes.
And if it seems I am 'always' picking things apart...
Perhaps I'm being oversensitive.
Too emotionally connected to a feeling and caring heart.
I'll admit that's how I am.
And from that I will not depart!
And I'll leave you with this to hear from my lips...
You and anyone else who feels I am negative,
Will come one day to feel regret.
Because the God I know,
Observing what I see that clearly shows...
Is about to make big changes,
To all your beliefs.
And is in the process to upset...
Everything you hold dear and cherish! '
Oh yeah...
Prove it!
'Somehow I do not believe,
That will be up to me to do it!
I already see the evidence!
Since everything you do,
Is making less sense!
Your entire way of life...
Is going through rapid changes.
And for you or me or anyone else...
Living it,
Will be the experience! '
Oh yeah?
Oh yeah?
You think you know so much!
'Well...
I'm not the one trying to hussle up a buck,
To get a cup of coffee! '
So whatchu sayin, man?
You ain't got no money,
To give to me for a cup of coffee! ?
'I'm not saying that at all!
I just don't feel like playing along.'
God bless you, my brutha.
God bless you, my brutha!
'Oh yeah?
Whatever! '

Speaking Now Out Loud But Then Unspoken
Too many living in unrested desperation.
And giving up their hopes and treasured beliefs.
Too many living in arrested situations.
And many who have lived it have grown tired,
And they grieve.
But no one wants to leave their minds open.
And no one wants to keep their own delusions detached.
Many want to share how they are busted and broken.
And some just want treatment like 'elites'.
Speaking now out loud but then unspoken.
Too many living in unrested desperation.
And giving up their hopes and treasured beliefs.
Too many living in arrested situations.
And many who have lived it have grown tired,
And they grieve.
But no one wants to leave their minds open.
And giving up their hopes and treasured beliefs.
But no one wants to leave their minds open.
Many have grown tired and they grieve.
But no one wants to leave their minds open.
And some just wish to live as if stiff upper lip 'elites'.
Speaking now out loud but then unspoken.

If God Was Not With Me
I thought I had taken much of my life,
For granted.
With a mind God has blessed.
And a family I think is the best.
And trust me...
There is a lot of love to go around.
So much of it...
I realize,
More is still to be uncovered and found.
And as I reflect those taken steps,
Some made I regret.
I have never yet to meet,
An obstacle that stopped the movement of my feet.
Or a challenge created masquerading as my defeat.
Andrea, Tammy, Lisa and I...
Were encouraged to live our separate lives.
Early my identity was molded.
And I held onto beliefs...
My dreams were no bigger,
Than I could make them!
And I can now admit to this...
Having been blessed,
Not to lay all my eggs in one nest to rest.
Or get upset by mistakes I've made!
And glad a few cracks,
Only appeared in two or three baskets.
With ambition as my mission.
I thought I had taken much of my life,
For granted.
With a mind God has blessed.
And I have found the willingness to forgive,
Without regret to forget my failures.
Knowing my own success,
I would not realize...
If God was not with me to open my eyes.
Or provide me breath to breathe,
I would not recognize any achievement.
Or believe deeds done I could do.

Holding On With Wishes To Experience This
Altrhough...
They're slipping with a gripping,
To a bottomless pit.
With an ignorance addicted unresisted.
And,
Holding on and wishing to experience it...
Are the ones who practice posing,
In a darkened abyss.
With a proving that an ignorance for them is bliss.
The people of today...
Are crazed with beliefs.
And refusing to release,
All delusions they've been feeding.
The people of today...
Are crazed with beliefs,
That the only life to live,
Is the one of deceit.
Holding on with wishes to experience this,
Darkened abyss...
With a proving that an ignorance for them is bliss.
Holding on with wishes to experience this,
Darkened abyss...
With a proving that an ignorance for them is bliss.
The people of today...
Are crazed with beliefs.
And refusing to release,
All delusions they've been feeding.
The people of today...
Are crazed with beliefs,
That the only life to live,
Is the one of deceit.
Holding on with wishes to experience this,
Darkened abyss...
With a proving that an ignorance for them is bliss.
They keep on holding onto to wishes to experience this,
Darkened abyss...
With a proving that an ignorance for them is bliss.

Feeling 'Whole' I Do!
To live is to learn and to grow...up!
Here I am at 62 and I tell you this...
My best 'teachers' I disagreed with.
Yes, I did.
Only to realize...
Now I value their assessments,
Of the 'me' I denied existed.
To be 'now' more of that 'me'
They saw I did not see before.
And I am so glad I found myself.
With a patience to put ignored pieces together.
Feeling 'whole' I do.
With self examinations through,
And completed with no tests to tease.
Seeing is believing to testify what is true!
And 'free' with a peace of mind I am.
I can release to leave doubts behind.
Feeling 'whole' I do.
And the experience of it...
I wish others could achieve,
To release themselves from turmoil.
And inner conflict stubbornly held...
With perceptions gone unaddressed.
To face them as they are is best.
This clears the mind of mental stresssss,
Yessss!
And as difficult as a quiz can get...
It is with acceptance,
Challenges can be met with success.
With a removal of those obstacles.
That seem so plentiful,
On paths we walk alone.
Condoning with an acceptance done.
Without confronting them one by one!
If one confesses and leave behind...
The useless time spent in regret!
And turning those obstacles,
Into worthless pebbles to forget!
Oh,
Feeling 'whole' I do.
Choosing to let the 'me' in 'me'
Just 'be'!

Is letting go a metaphor?
what is letting go -
letting go of grief?
the serenity of letting go?
(must be a bad metaphor)
losing represents letting go of control
I need to understand this 'letting go'
is it a metaphor for facing the inevitable?
breathing as a metaphor for living
'the practice of pruning wine vines'
is that a metaphor for letting go?
surrender. reaching towards the future
if you'll excuse another bad metaphor...
'the last of the sand is pouring...'
onion metaphors are stripped down to the core
letting go is a metaphor for acceptance
is acceptance a metaphor for failure?
'The freedom of letting go'
that does sound grand
letting go is not for the faint-hearted
my hands and heart are tired from letting go
so many times over
examine why metaphor is not
a substitute for the literal
letting go is
a metaphor
for goodbye

Late Habitually
Experience is the teacher!
So true.
So true.
And I will never obligate my time,
To be wasted again.
It is a sign of disrespect,
When someone is late...
Habitually.
And decides it is okay,
To delay another with fresh excuses.
Experience is the teacher!
And if lessons are not learned...
It is time to ditch,
The one pitching...
The same nonsense.
Time taken for granted,
By one never to understand...
Is too much of a sacrifice to make,
By another who is disciplined...
And comprehends,
What it takes to be in control...
With a bold look on life to command.

Skin
This is someone elses story
Someone that I never knew
This is someone elses body
Am I getting through to you
If you peel away the armor is something underneath
If you look below for hidden treasure underneath another layer
Are you hiding underneath the skin
Chorus
If you peel away the skin is there anybody there
If you peel away the skin is there anybody there
If you peel away the armor is it too late to begin
Is there anybody hiding if you peel away the skin
Now a spark has passed between us now
A momentary recognition
Something lost and something gained
And something shared that feels strange
Something cold that will not go away
Theres a heart as cold as ice
In a vault thats made of stone
Over years the walls got higher
Over years the walls have grown
Is there anybody in there in this self inflicted tomb
If you peel away the layers is there someone in this room
If you peel away the skin, if you peel away the skin
This is someone elses story
Someone that I never knew
This is someone elses body
Am I getting through to you

Your Are A Marked Person
Control your thoughts. Your feelings, your emotions, your desires and you control your life, your destiny. Many sayings go like this or are different versions of it. There is too much control and too little understanding, love, empathy and wisdom already, I say, Connect to your depths, to your heart, to God, to the source, be your self, be your destiny. Your pain, your fears, your mistakes, the pains you suffered is God's, is life, is creation letting you know that it believes in you so now you have more understanding to really assist others through their pain. Your pain is God's way, life's way, your ancestors way of giving you a burning drive that does not go away with tricks, with fake remedies, seductive slogans, paid for spirituality, your are a marked person with an unfolding plan to increase our human wisdom, freedom, intelligence, generosity and love.

I do not accept any absolute formulas for living. No preconceived code can see ahead to everything that can happen in a man's life. As we live, we grow and our beliefs change. They must change. So I think we should live with this constant discovery. We should be open to this adventure in heightened awareness of living. We should stake our whole existence on our willingness to explore and experience.

One Reason
Lighting candles in the church of my choice
Loving strangers in the dark
Looking for someone to give me what i lack
Searching for something 'til you showed me
The gun in my back
I'm human and i need it
And i must have my beliefs
I open myself to the love (yea)
I love you 'cause you showed me
A merciful release
I'm living this time and i know you gave
Me the reason
One reason (to believe), one reason (you're the one)
One reason (to believe), one reason (my baby)
One reason (it's all i need), one reason (to believe)
Trying to get faith from the $8.50 paperbacks
Hoping they'll show me the way (the way to what)
Man in a crisis, a young girl in his bed
She's trying to help him when she tells him
It's all in his head
I'm human and i need it
I must have my beliefs
I open myself to the love (yea)
I love you 'cause you showed me
A merciful release
I'm living this time and i know you gave
Me the reason
One reason (to believe), one reason (you're the one)
One reason (to believe), one reason (my baby)
One reason (it's all i need), one reason (to believe)
I bow to the east or i kneel to the west
It's a matter of faith
I'm the only one who has to believe it
One reason (to believe), one reason (you're the one)
One reason (to believe), one reason (my baby)
One reason (it's all i need), one reason (to believe)
I bow to the east or i kneel to the west
It's a matter of faith
I'm the only one who has to believe it
One reason (to believe), one reason (you're the one)
One reason (to believe), one reason (my baby)
One reason (it's all i need), one reason (to believe)

Spirit Remains Unrestrained.
Into the wilderness they stride virgin to the spirits of the land
Solitude within the boundaries of understanding attracts the
Company of ghost guardian ancestors. Four days without
Sustenance shatters the resistance of our defences.
Our guardian reveals in delivering songs alongside rituals
To guide us upon our paths so that we the children may protect
Ourselves from the dangers of adulthood. Spirit remains unrestrained.
As the Fey of the wilderness make their homes in the forest night.
They await Dionysus in his procession throughout the mountain range.
Uncontrollable satyrs orgy in dancing as Intoxicated eyeballs fuel fermented
Frenzy. Strange days keep on getting stranger. Everyday more so deranged.
I find myself chasing wood nymphs to the girls delight
Enchanting circles with the beating of our feet upon the ground
Dance sweet circles to the pipes of pan as birds take flight unheard.

The Layers Of My Existence
peel me, not like an onion where you shall cry for every
layer, no, i do not require tears here, at most, you may need
only to smile, and then be so patient, as you peel me
layer by layer, as i watch, and as you carefully peel me
with your bare hands, i will allow it, all for you and your
curiousity,
you discover the erotic layer
and in there exists the desire
for an adventure, the disregarding
of sin, and then peel me further
move on,
find the layer of my
intellect, you shall find what i have
told you all about, my nerves and
common sense, my strivings to go
deeper towards my self, and then
peel me further, you see the bone
of my contentions, my hardened
principles and uncompromises
then peel me further, find the
marrow that makes all the blood
of my life, my sorrows and pains,
my exhilarations and bliss and
joys and happiness, and you will
say there is nothing more to find.
you are wrong. There is this last
peel that you cannot see. It is like
air, and it floats and it gets in,
it always finds an empty space,
and you cannot find it there anymore,
it is now inside you and you cannot
get that out of your system
you must accept this:
i have become
an essential part of you, and there is
nothing now that you can do.
you see, in peeling me, you find
no exit anymore. Whether you
you will be happy or sad, it is
already beyond my control.

Taking Something Given
No one can teach
How eyes should observe.
What to focus on.
What to hear...
And leave unheard!
Like beliefs one has,
Passed and received
Without an experience to reflect.
When one accepts
And there has been no introspection...
What one rejects,
May be what one should not disrespect.
Like taking something given
When it should be suspect!
But how does on know that...
To avoid heartbreak and regret?

Don't Stop Me, Please
I had to be here to express relief!
Don't stop me...
Please.
I had pent up emotions needing release!
Don't stop me...
Please.
I once had shied away from my own mistakes.
I once denied I even made them.
But I awakened with a need to admit...
My perfectness,
Was not a perfect fit!
I had to be here to express relief!
Don't stop me...
Please.
I had pent up emotions needing release!
Don't stop me...
Please.
When I was wrong I couldn't handle it!
I would run to hide afraid like a kid.
I have grown to my own benefit.
And...
Ready to express my own childishness!
So don't stop me,
Please!
I had to be here to express relief!
Don't stop me...
Please.
I have emotions needing to be release!
Don't stop me...
Please.
When I was wrong I couldn't handle it!
I would run to hide afraid like a kid.
Now I see how that was quite childish.
I am here to ask for your forgiveness.
So don't stop me,
Please!
I am to ask for your forgiveness.
So don't stop me,
Please!

Defective Beliefs
Doesn't it seem we live in those times,
When the experience of living them...
Has become less mysterious.
Who living amongst us today,
Can honestly admit to say...
They have not a clue of what's going on?
Blatant is the disrespect.
Blatant is corruption and theft.
Blatant are those who have and 'have' not.
And 'who' today can honestly say,
They have not been deceived...
By the keeping of defective beliefs.
To continue to lie to oneself,
Would not be advisable to maintain mental health.
Since to do it would prove total insanity.

Razor Deep
the razor slides across my skin
pleasure and relief i feel within
they ask me why
all i do is cry
i am hurt so deep i dont think ill ever heel
there are no more layers on my heart to peel
i cry and shake when i think of you
and they day you left and made me forever blue
i look to the sky and wish youd come back
i wish i could once again hear the voice of my dad
the memory of you will never leave our hearts and minds
your spirit is here for all of time
i love you and know now youre finally happy
no more drugs and alcohol or sorrow
i love you and ill think of you the day after tomorrow
yet you wont be here and ill fall into the dark
laying there lifess with a broken heart
