Kept Within Focus
People are only impressed to digest,
That which is visually presented.
And they bring along their cameras...
Tape-recorders with pens and pads,
Prepared to critique.
With a rushing to report and display,
In the streets.
What happens behind stage is of no interest.
And those who are creating special effects,
To keep it that way...
Do the pulling of the strings,
From behind the scenes.
As they make sure what is marketed,
Is kept within focus to be bought as sold.

I Aint Been 'Right' Since
Just throw me any compliment you wish,
With superlatives dripping with adverbs and adjectives.
And don't forget that 'ego' written all over my forehead.
Be sure not to miss that.
That wants to be massaged.
I'm telling you...
Just how 'shallow' is my deepness?
Don't get me wrong...
I am tremendously grateful I am blessed,
But...
Comeon!
I guess some people perceive my head,
To be as big as...
Alaska or Texas.
I'd be stuck on 'uh' if it was.
I just do what I know I do.
Those who 'really' know me,
Know this is no secret.
The only time I was impressed,
Is when my mother followed my every movement...
During my tap dance recital.
She was on my every step.
Better than I was.
And that was 59yrs ago.
And it was more than 50yrs ago,
My sister 'Mimmie' exclaimed...
'Larry? You did 'not' write this! '
Her nosey eyes was all up in my business,
Back then.
Don't get me wrong...
I am tremendously grateful I am blessed,
But...
Comeon!
I guess some people perceive my head,
To be as big as...
Alaska or Texas.
It really isn't.
Although it's expected to be.
And I don't know why.
Not soon after my birth...
I demanded my parents,
Stop by the store...
To pick up some pads an pens!
I had some ideas to jot down...
As soon as we got home!
And wouldn't you know...
They got me pencils instead.
And I aint been 'right' since!
Well...
At least the pads had 'lines'.
Upon which I was prepared to deliver.
I am embellishing a little bit.
But...
Not by much.
Give or take a few years!
I would 'add' at least...

As a fashion designer, I was always aware that I was not an artist, because I was creating something that was made to be sold, marketed, used, and ultimately discarded.
We and our Laws
Our laws permit the police
to lay a trap to catch,
the worst criminal at large,
only on receiving complaints.
The people are cut into size
by the laws of our land
and those of the chopper-rowdies.
The weak and the meek can’t dare
file complaints against the killers
and the cops ignore the unruly deeds.
Some doctors loot the kidneys
and make a quick fortune.
They land in jails after a decade
when the police receive complaints.
Some feign as tax-officers
crush the flowers in the cine-films
and rob their hard-earned money.
The cops won’t act till those girls
come and report with flashing cameras around.
Some unlawful youths kill and scare,
amass wealth in crores,
pipe funds to ruling parties;
the public and the police remain tight-lipped.
The officers need to praise them on dais
in fear of being transferred or blackmailed.
The people feel insecure to see some cops
or the culprits reaching atop the public life.
The politicians too feel uneasy
When the reporters hired or bought step in
as they of the Fourth Estate
could make or mar someone’s repute.
The factors of caste, religion, dinner and cash
spur the newsmen to turn their cameras
and wield their pens to belch out fire and filth.

Again I feel it. Some one holding me back, Someone pulling my string. The more I move the more I feel your presence. An Outsider, Anonymous Onlooker. So Tell Me Did You Get Want. Do I Satisfy In Your Dark Deceitful Eyes. Hide Behind The Sunrise, That Fine But I Still Know Your There Pulling My Strings Like You Can Control Me. Avoid Me, Deny Me, I Don't Really Care Cause I Know You Are Still. Watching And Waiting. For What I Don't Really Know. If Your Waiting For An Invitation Here It Is Please Speak And I Will Listen. Again I feel it. Chills Right Up Spine. Someone Is Holding Me Back, Someone Is Pulling My Strings. She Wont Go Away Why I Just Don't Know But Yet She Wont Let Her Presence Truly Known. Like A Ghost Theirs A Glimpse Then Its Gone. Fading In To Just Fade Out. I'm Not Crazy, She There. Again I Feel It. Like What See, Come In The Open Get Better Look. A picture last forever. People are most impressed,
By that which is visible.
Material and physical.
Since whatever it is,
Will have a guarantee of being addressed.
With a getting of much attention.
As meant and intended.
Although it is that which is invisible...

With a selling of that which is proposed,
Without a sight of 'who' or what that is...
Having a need or desire to be seen.
To be bombarded by questions of authority.
