It is no longer as common as it use to be

In times when forgetting is instant.
And encouraged.
There are still some places,
In which to have a good memory poses a threat.
People with them are disrespected.

Only those who stay angry for the pettiest of reasons,
Are the ones who can claim those reasons...
To be what they say they are,
Without anyone disagreeing or caring why they are angry.

And making sense?
It is no longer as common as it use to be.
Therefore,
Very few pretend to know what it is to pretend they have it.
While those who pretend seem to impress with their imaginations,
More and more people as deceit becomes the rage.

To a much loved poet

You know how people who are
really serious – that’s, not those
who pretend to be serious, or
those who are paid to be serious –
pretend to be not so serious?

And you know how people who are
really lonely – that’s not those
who want sympathy, oh no, or
those who want to enjoy being lonely –
pretend to be not so lonely?

So she never quite believed,
for obvious reasons,
just how much she was loved
by all her readers:

perhaps and I only say perhaps
she might have feared to lose
that painful treasure
that we wanted to love away and
which made us love her
so much and even more.

It's A Fact

that those who pretend
to be asleep
are the hardest people to wake

and so i pretend too that i do not know that you are pretending.

in this way
we are even.

i pretend that i am wide awake
in the middle of my
resentful sleep.

Sonnet: There Are Reasons for All Things

There must be reasons for the shaking leaves;
There must be reasons for the swaying trees;
There must be reasons for the drying sheaves;
There must be reasons causing any breeze.

There must be reasons for the waves at sea;
There must be reasons for ripples in pond;
There must be reasons for the sea briny;
There must be reasons for a mutual bond.

There must be reasons for the changing climes;
There must be reasons for both drought and rain;
There must be reasons for good and bad times;
There must be reasons for a boon or bane.

There must be reasons for all things on earth;
But not much reasons why men sin since birth!

Why

there are reasons why
we have gone to other places

they mistook us as hedonists as
people who have no pity for money
squandering time and lusting
on the views of the lakes and yachts

despite the hunger of other people
somewhere in Africa
and the recession in America in Greece
the workers are striking

people pretend that they know our hearts
and they condemn us
that they know the language of our minds
and they make conclusions

ah, we live our lives the way we want it
we know our hours
and they are short.
but we do not mind them

People Everywhere Are Pulling Hair

Politicians have to end,
Their same old lies again.
For reasons why they need to spend,
So many millions to pretend...
If elected they will mend,
All divisions that began...
By their hating in their shared debates,
They take time to defend.
Again.

And those divided should condemn,
The ones who pocket and pretend...
That the money that is sent to them,
Will get them votes to win.
Again!
With a doing to those foolish,
To offend.
Again!

People everywhere are pulling hair,
That's getting thin.
And...
Patience seems to begin,
With everyone to dim.
Again!
With a doing to offend,
Again!

Politicians have to end,
Their same old lies again.
For reasons why they need to spend,
So many millions to pretend...
If elected they will mend,
All divisions that began...
By their hating in their shared debates,

I Cant Pretend

Charles tobias / paul rusincky (w. edward breuder? )
I cant pretend
Im sorry were apart
I cant pretend
I just cant fool my heart
Though I make mine
My friends all seem to realize
Their smiles, that look in my eye
I cant pretend
I simply cant be gayer
For in the end
My tears give me away
Without you dear
I live a lie
I cant defend
I love you
And I cant pretend

Why Do We Despise Another

Hate is evil
Hate tries to consume you, wait, stop! Fight back
Don't let it take over your mind

Evil spreads itself all over the world grabbing weak souls
Yeah, sometimes I get angry, but I must remember
I can't let it get me
I must be strong
I fight evil with the merciless God giving me the strength
Not to fall in the fate of evil

When you’re angry, you're not yourself, but something else
Evil causes you to do the unthinkable, but
The ones that are still holy must stay holy until the end
Hold on, don't let go!

We will soon have revenge
Just hold on a little more

Yeah, of course I hate when people talk about me
I hate when people bully others for being different
I hate when people steal from me
I hate when people pretend to be my friend, but use me
I hate when people take the lives of others
I hate to be around people because they have betray me
But in the end
Anger is my worst enemy
So I hum to God in my mind to enter my heart and save my soul
I don't want to let evil fill my heart to where I no longer care
I want to be saved
Thank you God, you have saved me

Angry

So scream you, out from behind the bitter ache
Heavy on the memory, you need most
Still want love, ugly, smooth and delicate
Not without affection, not alone
And instead of wishing that it would get better
Man you're seeing that you just get angrier
And it's good that I'm not angry
I just need to get over
I'm not angry, anymore
Cry when you cry, run when you run
Love when you love
Represent the ashes
That you leave behind
And instead of wishing that the road had shoulder
Man you're seeing that you're sinking over time
And it's good that I'm not angry
I just need to get over
I'm not angry
It's dragging me under
I'm not angry
I'm not angry it's never been enough
It gets inside and it tears you up
I'm not angry but I've never been above it
You see through me don't you
And it's good that I'm not angry
I just need to get over
I'm not angry
It's dragging me under
I'm not angry
And it's good that I'm not angry
I just need to get over
I'm not angry, anymore

The Pretend Game

I.......can't........ play........this game....with u, called pretend, like were in grade school at the age of ten, and I'm thinking this situation here can drive a person to do something very surprising. Because of u playing with someone emotion, but you get off! ! ! and get a kick out of a person thats interest in you. When you no got *** well deep in your ******* heart! ! ! !  that the feelings is not mutual.  you market the bull **** word(pretend) for your own selfish reason or just for the sake of not loosing him. But  your action speak louder then words. And your playing the Game pretend is for the birds, and I have to fly away  and get out of your face before i ketch a case.  mentally it's  making me sick, and giving me a head ache. When I think the thought of me allowing myself to fall and go thur such  foolishness with U! ! !  because baby I deserve greater then this and U! So stay right in your land of pretend Alice and keep wondering or turn back into Dorothee and have fun in your land called oz, with the tin man and the munchkins. Because the act And your game has come to a end at lease with me pretend friend.

Confessions Of A Pretend Preacher

Being a pretend preacher
is almost like being the real thing.
People come to me in times of trouble
and who am I to turn them away.
I cannot and never will do
for reasons I cannot explain.
I hear their confession readily
an even relate to some.
I try to help wherever I can
with words that I can give.
Sometimes what you hear
can take its toll on you.
You never admit it though,
but keep on trying to help
wherever help is needed.
There are times you hear something
and it plays on your mind
over and over again
that you feel you will burst.
You never betray a confidence
of whom the incident is about.
Like a real priest’s rule of silence,
you obey it to the letter,
only telling the story
with no names attached
and after you have told it.
It exorcises if from your mind
and you can move on
to the next one who needs help.
My door is always open to help anyone.
I will never turn away anyone
who needs help from me.
I guess the role of a pretend preacher
really does suit me;
either that or I have grown into the part I play.
It doesn‘t stop my own heartaches of which I rarely tell.
The sadness that sometimes eats away at me.
However, you will never see it
behind my smiling face;
because that is the way,
I just want it to be.

Just Pretend

(words & music by flett - fletcher)
Just pretend, Im holding you
And whispering things soft and low
And think of me, how its gonna be,
Just pretend I didnt go
When I walked away, I heard you say
If you need me, you know what to do
I knew it then, Id be back again
Just pretend Im right there with you
And Ill come flying to you, oh yes
All the crying is true
Oh, I will hold you and love you again
But until then, well just pretend
Oh, its funny but I cant recall the things
We said or why youre crying
But now I know it was wrong to go
I belong here by your side

Why pretend?

Why pretend?
Eiether you are happy
Or you are not
Do you still believe in us?
I ask
For lately it seems each time
I mention our prior conversations
your statement is
you've forgot
You no longer express your feelings
So, why not?
Rehearse our past
To remember our start
Therefore. You and I can equally decide
Whether we are to stay together
Or completely part
Why pretend?

Dealing With People Who Anger You

you are angry
and you will be dealing with people now in anger
you face your detractors
you pretend you do not know what they are doing to you
you face them still
you whistle you smile you pretend you like them
you hold them with gentleness in their arms
wish them all the luck in their endeavors
give them money
feed them
tender the nicest dinner possible in that expensive restaurant
talk like you are the best entertainer in the world
ask them if they are sad
or anxious
stare at them a little bit
but still glow that look acceptable
to your betrayers
make them feel that you are not affected
(hide your anger
in the smile and laughter you always share with them)

let us see who will explode
let us find out where the bomb is

the terrorist in you is the most civil servant of them all

Good Man In A Storm

it just occurred to me
I must be blind
why do I try so hard to keep my cool
when I'm about to lose my mind
there was a vision
flashing by
of a summers' day I spent with you
of a child who never learnt how to cry
when those around me
fall in despair
I call upon my common sense
'cause someone has to care
a sudden decision
I can't explain
though I've often tried to change the rules
the game remains the same
for love
I've played the part so many times
it fits me like a glove
but I'm the victim
in the bitter end
I know you need me to be strong
l just don't know how much longer I can pretend
you always need me to be
a good man in a storm
it sometimes scares me
the further we go
just how much we understand
and just how much we know
so whatever happened
in our hearts
while making perfect sense of life
we still remain so far apart
you always want me to be
a good man in a storm
trying to fit the social norm
and be a good man in a storm
trying hard since I was born
to be a good man in a storm

People Love To Intimidate

People love to intimidate,
Those they believe not strong.
And, people love to instigate,
A conflict that goes wrong.
Then...
Those people will pretend they don't know,
What is going on!
To then become offended,
By those who choose themselves to defend.

People love to intimidate,
Those they believe not strong.
And, people love to instigate,
A conflict that goes wrong.
Then...
Those same people will pretend,
They don't know what is going on!
To then become offended,
By the ones who choose themselves to defend.
And....
The fighting never ends,
No!

People will pretend they don't know,
What is going on!
To then become offended,
By those they thought were weakened
And....
The fighting will not cease.

People love to intimidate,
Those they believe not strong.
And, people love to instigate,
A conflict that goes wrong.
Then...
People will pretend they don't know,
What is going on!
To then become offended,
By those who choose themselves to defend.

People love to intimidate,
Those they believe not strong.
And...
People love to intimidate,
Even though they've been so wrong.
And...
People love to intimidate,
From night until the dawn.
And...
Then pretend with innocence,
How they've been the victims all along!

Puppeteers

The tricks of politics,
Is to pretend religion has nothing to do with it.
Pretend there is a deep caring!
And a race without rascism 'is' involved.
The freedom to vote will solve all problems!

Whether you are a jackass...
Or a thought provoking elephant.
None of this is relevent,
To the people represented.
This is known!
And these election games are prone
To produce the best BS money can buy!
Since it's the guys behind the scenes...
Pumping in the bucks and pulling all the strings!
And we don't have a clue as to who these puppeteers are.
But...
We do know who their choices are,
To keep us thoroughly distracted and entertained!

A.Y.M.

Generation X
We are complex
Angst is the perfect wave
Ride it and be well paid
It all sucks by the way
I wrote a new song today
So upset with all I have
And the world is such a drag
I've become my own cliche
I am an angry young man
I am an angry young man
A.Y.M. An Angry Man
Repeat the past
It's a gas, gas, gas
Make all the same mistakes
That all my heroes made
Pretend that I hate fame
How dare you misspell my name?!
Hurts so bad I have to fix
Apology read by some chick
Another million in the bag

I was angry

I was angry
I refused to agree
that time would set me free
but it did
it got rid of my ill forgotten feelings
as I went through a process of mental healing

I was angry
My ego and been let down
and played around town
like a guilty clown
that’s why on my face
I wore a permanent frown

But I learned to forgive
instead of self pity and grieve
and boy what did it do me
A lot of good that
even now not everyone can see

Now I lay in bed instead
Think it all out
whisper rather than shout
Before I act
so that my mental state can remain intact

Now I breathe in
and I breathe out
for its a known fact
two wrongs don’t make a right
There is no point in trying so hard
to stir up a fight

I was angry
So I resorted to alcohol
But swiftly recalled
how that became
my best friends downfall

He used to drink heavily
And pretend he was having a ball
Until one day his liver
gave the final call

I was angry
Now I am angry no more
