I Wonder What The Trees Think

Do you see that tree,
With the branches reaching?
Think of them as nerves...
Coming from the Earth.
Are they feeling?
Do they sense like you and I?
Or are they here to assist us to breathe?
If they did not exist...
Would your life on this Earth be useless?

I wonder what the trees think,
About our selfish ways!
And they stay as they are...
Basically providing us life.
Tolerating their destruction,
As they sit watching us in conflict.

Without a hug or a visit from us,
As we sit and cuss our existence.
With neither acknowledgement,
Or an expression of our appreciation.
I wonder what the trees think,
About our selfish ways!

Big Tree

Big tree
Standing tall
Against setting sun
Majestic silhouette
Geometer's delight
Deep rooted trunk
Branches reaching the sky
Tree depicts life...

Every leaf
Shape so unique
Defining tree family...
Magical colors applied
By Creator's bold strokes
With the brush of seasons
Amazing panorama spreads out
Everywhere and all around.

Flowers spring out
Beauty and fragrance
Magical transformation
Into fruits
Nature transports seeds
To far off lands
It's a new cycle
Trees..forest...life.

Big tree
Stands still
Stands waving
I keep watching
Its far reaching ways
Tree gives us life
Tree gives us shade
To rest and contemplate.

My Mama Did Not Raise No Fools

Why do I daily,
Make it my business...
To seek and hug a tree?
And ignore those who snicker about this,
With a laughter I can hear..
But choose to dismiss their activities?

Well...
A tree is rooted,
To all that I am.
Without trees with leaves,
We wouldn't be able to breathe.
Or...
Be able to roam greedily leeching,
Believing God has gifted us to be...
Selfish just to exist!

Trees,
Are solid and grounded...
To 'this' Earth we stand upon.
If it wasn't for the dirt from Earth,
Nothing grown from it...
Would be eaten or found.

And IF it wasn't for the assistance,
From the Sun or clouds above...
Not a dropp of rain,
That produces drinking water...
Would for any of us be allowed,
To love.

Have you ever witnessed a fish,
Crawl or limp aided with a walking stick...
Upon dry sand?
Or a man, woman or child...
Live without eating out of Mother Nature's hand?
Have you?
LIES!
No you haven't.

Why do I daily,
Make it my business...
To seek and hug a tree?
And ignore those who snicker about this,
With a laughter I can hear..
But choose to dismiss their activities?

I am connected!
That's correct.
And respect that which assists my existence.
With a feeling that is blessed,
To have within my head this perspective.
Cause my mama did not raise no fools!

Although there have been times,
I will admit I have been foolish.

Going To Be Left To Leave

Wouldn't it be nice,
If we were not enticed by temptations.
And peace wished to exist,
Would not be marketed...
With such a high price to pay for it.

Wouldn't it be nice,
If people lived with values...
Others respected.
And did not discover them to take away.
But left them alone to appreciate.

Wouldn't it be nice,
If those differences God sees fit...
Were actually accepted,
And all who live to witness it...
Would think of themselves as blessed.

Wouldn't it be nice,
If those asleep would awaken with wishes...
To leave behind their selfish ways,
To realize there is only one Earth.
And the Earth comes first.

And no matter who 'has' or believes 'what'...
No one or that which is claimed to possess,
Stays to remain without a transition.
Everything shown is going to be left to leave,
On Earth as it is meant to be.

Right where they are...
The Sun, Moon, Earth and Stars,
Are not in conflict.
If they were...
You and I would not exist,
To make claims of ownership.

Selfish

I am selfish
You are selfish
He is selfish
She is selfish

We all are selfish
To a lesser or a
Greater degree...

Let's not
Stay in denial.

Let's accept
Our selfishness
So that if people
Are selfish to us,
It hurts us less.

The Righteous

They have chosen to elect themselves,
The righteous.
Those who live life correct...
Under the Sun.
And under the Moon and Stars,
They deem themselves...
The Center of the Universe!
The reason why this Earth was created.
And in denial they sit,
Refusing to believe...
Other life forms have arrived,
For many to observe their presence...
As they visit!

Leaving all to wonder 'who' and 'what'
Can declare they are much more...
Intellectually advanced.
And 'who' and 'what' lives an existence,
Far more enhanced.
And 'who' are we on this Earth...
Struggling with issues of conflict and division,
Has the power to convince anyone coming to visit...
We can be hospitable to them,
When we can not appreciate our own home...
To prepare for any guests!
And 'they' who are coming in droves,
Already know we have self contempt!

From Their Point Of View

There will always be those who choose to see life,
From their point of view.
And not necessarily from their own experiences.
As many feeling entitled excuse themselves to do.

There will always be those who choose to see life,
And the struggles others endure...
From movies, widening TV screens,
Or binoculars used as they peer from behind trees...
To validate a faking of a wisdom often to be argued,
With the ones who have received their completed lessons...
Taught fresh from the trenches to prove with wounds,
They did not sit to observe someone else fighting their battles.

There will always be those who choose to see life,
From their point of view.
And not necessarily from their own experiences, either!
As many feeling entitled excuse themselves to do.

And others will volunteer as a sacrifice to feel as a duty,
To assist in securing freedoms for all as promised.
With a few who will come to assist in providing comfort,
Or express an appreciation and with respect...
To the ones who will always associate life,
With a feeling of mental and physical pain for their efforts.
And this is the view many refuse to acknowledge.
Since to do it they will have to admit a reality exists.

Sonnet: Grow Trees

The branches cut the wind fierce to a breeze;
The leaves break sunlight into chequered beams;
The shade of trees affords all travelers peace;
The wearied ones sleep ’neath the trees in dreams!

And birds too build their nests on branches high;
The squirrels eat their berries with great joy;
The trees make verdant all landscape near-by;
And attract rain in which children enjoy!

Trees make the earth greener and beautiful,
Adding oxygen to the air we breathe;
Preserve its trees, man! Nature is grateful;
The leaves and flowers can make us a wreath.

Trees are so useful to mankind always;
’midst good trees, men have spent their earthly days!

All That Inhabitates on It

I am not one to dispute anyone's belief!
Why should I?
Everyone seeks 'some' excuse,
To accept what they do
With a tolerating of their existence,
With a forgiveness given to continue doing
Exactly what they choose.

However,
For some to dismiss...
That the Earth is a non thinking entity,
And we live on it 'within' its midst.
And IT not being aware of every move made
Is nonsense.

How can anything recycle itself,
As the Earth does.
With all that inhabitates on it
Do this and not be affected,
By who and what is disturbing the peace?

Do not think for one moment,
The Earth is asleep
Denying the causes of its many headaches.
It knows what gets on its nerves,
Just as much as you do.

I Can

I can touch you in many ways,
And i can keep your love going to meet up the stars;
But like a leopard with the mouth of a lion,
You need to keep life in its perfect ways.

By a miscarriage, a child is gone!
And by a discourage, all hopes are dashed out! !
But he who is for the sword is really for the sword in this life.
I can see your worried face but, i am here for you;
Like a beast coming out of the earth to save life.
My ways are like the voice of many waters,
But you need hope at all times to move on in this life;
So i can touch you in many ways to help you move on.

The Givers

Snip it.
What complaint would you have,
IF you had a heart that gave?
Quit it?
You are just part of this experience,
Life!
It is not about you or your whims!
The givers receive no attention at all.
And there you are falling down with tantrums!
Going ignored are your calls.
Snip it quick.
Shut your lips.
No tree grows from a branch.
When a leaf is released from it,
It dies, to wither and rust from its visit.
Connected are we all to this,
Life!
All your needs could be met...
IF your greed did not set things,
Off balance.
With needs you only feed.
One day you will learn,
All your suffering has been well earned...
By you!
Feeling screwed by the things you do?
You wouldn't feel this way,
IF you lived each day to 'give'!
You look for ways to take, use and squander!
That's why you wonder and wander...
Seeking to reap from life what is good!
What have you done?
Are you looking for ways to give to anyone?
Or are you here just to take?
Well...
Take this!
Shut your lips,
And learn what it is to give!
And all that this life is,
Can be yours.
You will receive what is deserved.
The givers serve without a mumbling word!
And all that is heard from you...
Are offers to undo what is done.
Takers get back,
That which has been given...
And comes to them in abundance!
A rusting of a nothingness achieved.
Leaving them with the results,
Of their selfish and hoarded greed.

A Day In The Life Of A Tree

Feel the wind burn through my skin
The pain, the air is killing me
For years my limbs stretched to the sky
A nest for birds to sit and sing
But now my branches suffer
And my leaves dont bear the glow
They did so long ago
One day I was full of life
My sap was rich and I was strong
From seed to tree I grew so tall
Through wind and rain I could not fall
But now my branches suffer
And my leaves dont offer
Poetry to men of song
Trees like me werent meant to live
If all this world can give
Pollution and slow death
Oh lord I lay me down
No lifes left to be found
Theres nothing left for me
Trees like me werent meant to live
If all this earth can give
Is pollution
Trees like me werent meant to live
(oh lord I lay me down)
If all this earth can give
(my branches to the ground)
Is pollution and slow death
(theres nothing left for me)
Oh lord I lay me down
My branches to the ground
Theres nothing left for me

Sonnet: No Man is perfect

Most men on earth do things as per their wish;
Only a few think well before they act;
Most minds are egoistic and selfish;
Advice if free has takers few- a fact.

By trial/ error, each one spends his life;
Things may go wrong and you never know why;
Both haves and have-nots get problems and strife;
No man is sure when he would surely die.

Man wonders if when life’s each stage is past,
Could he have lived in better ways and did,
Some things in prudent manner or too fast?
Some problems of his life, could he have rid?

No man can perfectly perform all things,
Nor can he solve all queries that life brings.

Sonnet: Eternal Echoes

All men on earth just love to feel much loved,
For whatever things little, they may do;
Appreciation gets their life-boat towed;
They go to do things better always too.

Appreciation makes the diff’rence then,
Between achiever and those who’re silent;
Mere body-language takes mind to Heaven!
The wanted feeling gives the man his bent.

Just criticize without a bias then;
Do not deride a man’s demerits much;
Misjudge him not for lack of proper ken,
But think of ways to give him ‘Midas-touch.’

See others in their right perspective then;
The environment is not the same for men.

Madness of Deforestation

Natures Majestic Trees still, mighty,
Clawed feet grips mother earth deep,
Together holding ground as their own,
Reaching tall breathing out for others life to keep,

Vying for canopy rights, claiming the high blue sky.
Morning sunshine paints its mascara tints,
Shading green, lighting brown glinting green,
A pleasure to see the sea of leafy glints,

Amongst this growing life stands a dead giant
Like a floundering sailing ship in the cruel sea
Now a wonderful perch for the crows choir singing
“NO TREES NO ME, NO TREES NO THEE, ”

Stark dead arms reach out leafless, fingers pointing
Death comes slow to the giant that held the earth together.
Crows cawing out their signature song piercing the silence,
With their timeless silhouettes of black feather.

“Look what do you see besides this dead tree,
Caw caw, caw caw caw!
Uproot them are all for a mirrored vision of thee,
You cannot play with Mother Nature’s law.

After dearth there is no earth!

Edgar Lee Masters

Samuel Gardner

I who kept the greenhouse,
Lover of trees and flowers,
Oft in life saw this umbrageous elm,
Measuring its generous branches with my eye,
And listened to its rejoicing leaves
Lovingly patting each other
With sweet aeolian whispers.
And well they might:
For the roots had grown so wide and deep
That the soil of the hill could not withhold
Aught of its virtue, enriched by rain,
And warmed by the sun;
But yielded it all to the thrifty roots,
Through which it was drawn and whirled to the trunk,
And thence to the branches, and into the leaves,
Wherefrom the breeze took life and sang.
Now I, an under-tenant of the earth, can see
That the branches of a tree
Spread no wider than its roots.
And how shall the soul of a man
Be larger than the life he has lived?

The Trees are High

The trees are high as after they have storms
Their produce is low, and their height also forms.
The tree has branches entering the sun and might,
May destiny of a life be in the brain of someone alright.

Life may obstruct life if lifting the stones
Shall penetrate the massive population of bones.
Push him then into the grave, where they die,
The tree is sacrificed, and he must die to beautify.

The living plants are no objective in our hearts,
The trees have enough acquisition of knowledge and charts.

Nothing Left To Auction

Those who hated,
Now find themselves to be naked.
And..
Without escapes,
To re-address a fate that awaits.

Isolated and outraged,
By their own selfish ways...
And now naked.
Those who hated can't fake it.
Or look for those escapes...
That chased away,
The others from the gates.

They now are naked!
Together and can't fake it.
Those with time to hate...
Isolated and outraged,
By their own selfish ways...
Now themselves so naked.
Discriminated and hated.

'Our things are gone,
There's nothing left to auction.'

Now themselves so naked.
Discriminated and hated.
Isolated and outraged.
By their own selfish ways.

'Our things are gone,
There's nothing left to auction.'

Dark Trees

Coming home in pure dark,
The trees bounding over,
Their prickly ends and pointed arms,
It seems as if they’re going to become alive,
Roam the streets,
Searching for friends, family,
In the warmth that is still carried,
And maybe eventually the sheer cold,
The trees lean over,
Staring at every step taken,
You would start to wonder,
Will they pounce to attack?
Their long prickly arms, reaching,
For attack...

Maybe, they'll have traps prepared,
Never moving, only planning,
In the darkness that surrounds them,
Talking, forever,
Gleaming, breathing,
Moving the leaves they may have left,
Or the branches, swaying,
Maybe this is what they do in the dark,
Plan, retreat if in problems,
The dark trees will carry on though,
Through the dark times in history,
They strive, maybe one day to attack,
With the prickly arms and branches,
With the Darkness from the Trees,
Really coming out,
Causing oblivion and trouble,
Those Dark Trees... mischief...

In Your Own Ways

You are smart in your own ways
you are lovely in your own ways
you are beautiful in your own ways
You smile in your own ways

So crazy in your own ways
The madness of your own ways
such mysterious in your own ways
Those eyes of your own ways

You inspire me in your own ways
You talk in you own ways
you love me in your own ways
You suprise me in your own ways

Your kindness of its own kind
Your love of its own loveliness
your touch of its own comfort
And your kisses of its own sweetness

There is nothing so much worth to
treasure in my own ways than the
sweet memories of your own ways
Your life in your own ways
changes mine in its own way

God must have taken His own time
for sush a creation of its own kind
With everything in its own way
I must live your way.
