I Wonder Atop the Dunes

Will your Summer breeze,
Captivate my thoughts on Fall.
When the air is thick,
And hot with sticky humidity?

Will my Autumn wishes,
Be of those you select and pick?

I like to sit atop the dunes,
At Cape Cod and Padre Island.
I am closer to my thoughts.
When the seagulls and waves,
Exchange as nature wishes.
With sounds that attract,
My need to be distracted.

Then I make eye contact with it.
Pulling me in like a magnet!

And I see you...
This attractive distraction.
Relaxing to instigate,
My delusions of being laid...
On Labor Day.

And throughout the festivities of the holidays.

Will your Summer breeze,
Captivate my thoughts on Fall.
When the air is thick,
And hot with sticky humidity.

Will my Autumn wishes,
Be of those you select and pick?
And we discover a great happiness.

Will we be sharing Thanksgiving?
Or comfortable enough to be sitting...
Under the Christmas Tree butt naked.
And exchanging gifts with kisses?
To sweat if we let it get done.
Near the grate of the fireplace.
To quietly lay to hear 'carols' we hum.

I like to sit atop the dunes,
At Cape Cod and Padre Island.
I am closer to my thoughts.
When the seagulls and waves,
Exchange as nature wishes.
With sounds that attract,
My need to be distracted.

And I am...
When I think of how we met.
And I am...
Full of regret,
I did not extend to you an invitation.

Will your Summer breeze,
Captivate my thoughts on Fall...
Again?

Will your Summer breeze,
Captivate my thoughts on Fall...
Again?
But,
When again?
I wonder atop the dunes.

When will this move I make?
I wonder atop the dunes.
Will I be perceived as a faker?
I wonder atop the dunes.
Will I share this escape?
I wonder atop the dunes.
Could mistakes be made to make up?
I wonder atop the dunes.

When will this move I make?
I wonder atop the dunes.
Will I be perceived as a faker?
I wonder atop the dunes.
Will I share this escape?
I wonder atop the dunes.
Could mistakes be made to make up?
I wonder atop the dunes.

On The Dunes

Drive along the sea
Far from the citys twitch and smoke
To a misty beach
Thats where my life became a joke
On the dunes
On the dunes
(became a joke on the dunes)
Where rents are high
And seabirds cry
On the dunes
As you spoke you must have known
It was a kind of homicide
I stood and watched my happiness
Drift outwards with the tide
On the dunes
On the dunes
(homicide on the dunes)
It wasnt fair
Its brutal there
On the dunes
Pretty boats
Sweeping along the shore
In the faltering light
Pretty women
With their lovers by their side
Its like an awful dream
I have most every night
In the summer all the swells
Join in the search for sun and sand
For me its just a joyless place
Where this loneliness began
On the dunes
On the dunes
(loneliness on the dunes)
Im pretty tough
But the wind is rough
On the dunes

Dunes

oh! man. remember the day when you are born, the sky that
twinkle in your eyes, as the sea breeze, in the dunes of sand,
tranquil, in the luminous pavement of water beneath your
mother's tear

you have chatter the fears of death, of which the stings of pain,
labour in the weary sweat of your father hand has come to sprout
like orchards green of graves in the blue sky in your mother
dream

a dunes, that whisper the cool olive oil in the green leaves of
summer in the meadow of oasis of desert from the storm in the,
night of the skies, waiting to capture the smiling faces of your
loved father and mother cribs

like a cheddar, full of tasted cream of cheese, in every tongue,
awaits to capture the aroma of judgment in our hearts, so
especial, that every wind calls our spirit to mingle every direction
it brings

each pieces of sand, leads us to a place, where the emptied
soul, find its meaning of being one in the darkness of uncertainty
a call for, to follow the segment of our life in the course of nature
tranquility

life is what we make it, a wind that redirect us to focus ourselves,
the dunes of where we have to follow, where the cooled wind,
will brings to the sea of life everlasting

' let the dunes be, a dunes to other in the great blue ocean of God'

Memories of Summers Spent

For Faizil

I remember the sand dunes of Aniston
Eastwards on the south of the Western Cape coast
The blue skies hanging over
Illuminated by the burning sun
Within the sand dunes concealed
Lies the bones of shipwrecked sailors of yesteryear
Contrast of desert and ocean
Like two dimension woven in one

Dwarfed by the sands of time
I remember how we raced to the top of the dunes
Breathless without thought
Just the absolute carefree bliss of being children
The race down was a running and a tumbling
Our summers spent camping at Arniston
When finally at the bottom, we would lay exhausted
Panting, catching our breath

This One I Picked For Christmas

How many Angels can sit atop a tree.
This one I picked for Christmas,
To bring such joy for me.

And how many lights can twinkle bright,
As stars?
Trimming branches candycaned.
That lightens up my heart!

How many gifts wished,
Will I get this year?
And how many will share Christmas,
With laughter and not tears.

How many bells will ring,
As carols are heard sung?
How many will make sure,
Goodwill is felt...
By everyone.

How many Angels can sit atop a tree.
This one I picked for Christmas,
And sits so beautifully.

Where is that magic made,
That comes we celebrate?
How can we keep it here...
With us like this always?

How many bells will ring,
As carols are heard sung?
How many will make sure,
Goodwill is felt...
By everyone.
And stays.

Triolet: The Robin's Song

The robin perched atop the tree
Signals spring his warbling song;
How long will I be pleased to see
The robin perched atop the tree?

Because it seems he sings for me,
I feel I want to sing along
With the robin perched atop the tree
Who signals spring his warbling song!

I do not like poems that resemble hay compressed into a geometrically perfect cube. I like it when the hay, unkempt, uncombed, with dry berries mixed in it, thrown together gaily and freely, bounces along atop some truck-and more, if there are some lovely and healthy lasses atop the hay-and better yet if the branches catch at the hay, and some of it tumbles to the road.

Dunes Are Made Of SanD

Cul the zeros out of my head, so i may round by the sound, the square i love to wear - She is my dress, my shadow grows on both, what was lost next to 2, by my sides - Never do i fear alone, I am held by her grip, sometimes she is more than cold, but she never will let me slip - Sometimes i stand on the dunes, the sand tells me of what passed by time - my prints are diplayed, one to a row, although never was there a path which led me to wonder astray - By my hand, in own i was grown, i do the deed which cause me harm, without a bell to ring the cause for the alarm, i stitch close what was sown - Tears which streams into rivers, do so with one flow - As Dunes Are Made of SanD

The Ghosts Of The Bunurong

On the sand dunes at Powlett river in the dead of the night
Dark shadows are moving in the faint moonlight
The Ghosts of the Bunurong dance their Corroborees
In a circle they jig to the music of the breeze.

And as they dance they sing an old Dreamtime song
This Country to their spirits always belong
When white people are sleeping the black tribes come out
And they sing on the sand dunes as they dance about.

The old ghosts of the Dreamtime have not gone away
Like the frogmouths they hide from the bright lamp of day
But on the stroke of midnight they come out from the trees
And they dance on the sand by the southern seas.

The ghosts of the Bunurong they have not died
They dance in the moonlight on the beach at low tide
And by old Powlett river their old Countryside
At dawn they return to their old trees to hide

From the bright lamp of day but on the stroke of midnight
They dance on the sand dunes in the faint moonlight
And to the music of the breeze they sing their Dreamtime song
This Country to their spirits always belong.

Rain

Thoughts of rain at sunset
Clouds of rainbow blue
Thoughts of sun on sand-dunes
Where the seabirds flew
This was our season, and we said it couldnt end
But my love left with the rain.
Thoughts of leaves in autumn
Falling from the trees
Thoughts of hoaring tree tops
Leading to the sea
This was our season, no lies and no pretend
But my love left with the rain.
Thoughts of springtime rainfall
Touching flowers that bend
Thoughts of wind in willows
Days that never end
This was our season, but sorrow waited round the bend
For my love left with the rain.
Rains the way you move now
Sun the way you seem
Leaves the way you wonder
Flowers the way you dream
This was our season, and we said it couldnt end
But my love left with the rain

Dusk

Clouds gathered in the southwest
Hastening the early darkness
Given to this early time of the year
A few flitting silhouettes
Of birds flashing by..
Nest-bound...
Book placed gently
Atop end table
Reading glasses placed
Gently atop book
Lights left unlit…
Gaze fixed out the window
Blanket of night’s darkness
Tucked tight under chin

Exploring Those Adventures

I have not witnessed the Scottish Pine,
With branches crooked as those
Of the Oak or Maple trees.
Or the bark of Birch,
Like that of the Palm.

I am not mesmerized,
By ripples made on a Pond.
As much as I am by waves...
During low and/or high tides.

Sand Dunes of Cape Cod,
Are striking when first seen.
Although the beaches,
Sweep breezes across the waters...
Much like they do on South Padre Island,
And Key West!
While watching the flight of Seagulls...
Fish then come to rest.

Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.
The color of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The blue sky above the floating pink clouds,
In the early morning sunrise...
Lifting after dawn!
Hearing the clang of trolley cars.
Climbing steep hills,
In clean crisp air!
I often feel it...
As if I'm still there.

The sunsets I like the best,
Seem to be those in San Antonio!
And yet...
When I am at home,
Reminiscing times I miss...
As I witness the snowflakes drift,
From my bedroom window...
Alone in Connecticut.
I select from memories I cherish,
With you and me...
Happy to be together.
Exploring those adventures...
As our eyes close to kiss,
Each other's lips!

A Love To Share

I wish the world to see my hearts joy
To hear the song within it
To know of this tender love
I wish the world to hear and see
How beautiful I find her
My heart once content to dream
Now wishes to lay in her arms
What could compare to her
For this hearts affections
I wish the word to witness it all
That I may shout from atop the sky
She is my love, she has my heart
I know where love now belongs
And I wish this love to spread
That the world may share such joy
The sweetest of thoughts
There is a song I feel inside me
It plays and sings aloud
A love to share

The Passion Fruits

there were too many passion
fruits in the garden
of my Papa
it is a vine that climbs
atop trees
covering them

they all fall this summer
these ripe passion fruits that most of our neighbors
know nothing about
how they taste what is their use
&

as a consequence of that ignorance
no one takes a passion fruit
for a cold refreshing juice this summer

A Summer Breeze

The summer breeze now felt again,
the waiting has finally ended,
Time to relax, take a deep breath,
No more the days of stress and dread.

Feel the joy of passersby,
the merriment to feel too.
No homework nor quizzes,
stacked in there, nothinng left to do..

Now free again, are mind afloat,
for what plans lie ahead,
the fun awaiting everywhere,
the laughter left to apprehend.

The water is calling for us,
from the lakes to the seas,
the mountain now inviting us
a hike atop the peak.

Here again the summer air,
snickering as we pass,
Here again we stand afresh,
Summer's here at last..

Yeah! !

She Admits She Keeps Her Thoughts To Herself

she shares a world
the room where her children make most of the mess
and they say all the
possible excuses
arguing as though they are all lawyers

she talks about the small cubicle
on the 17th floor
somewhere atop
New York

she swears she might have been
transshipped
to another place but the place where
she was born
was never taken inside her
guts

i listen attentively and can tell
that she wants to keep things
in their original flavor
like ginger and spring onions

but as usual
what is said is normally different from what is done
she is right
she may share her world but she keeps
her own thoughts to herself

and it is fair
since that is what i am also doing now

Peace

Take a peaceful summer day
from atop a green clad hill.
Caressed by a kiss of breeze
Birds serenade yet all is still.

Look across a valley’s view.
A river’s silver strand winds its way.
Where foothills come together
and Nature’s creatures stop to play.

Gaze into a sky so blue
made bluer by clouds of silvery white.
Watch a noble eagle
soar in solitary flight.

Walk quietly along.
Shielded from the heat of the day.
Down a tree lined shady lane.
What a wonder could this picture stay.

This portrait painted by an unseen hand.
That wields a brush that does not cease.
Dipped in the pallet
Spread with the paint of peace.
