I Limit My Feeding to Cucumbers With Onions
I've been rocked before,
By eye popping knockers.
Caressed until I gasped for breath.
But then I had a need to feed that fetish.
Today I am glad,
I limit my feeding...
To cucumbers with onions,
Green peppers and lettuce.
And when aged knockers drop...
My reminiscing is limited,
Since quick lifts that existed then...
Take much longer today!
And with patience and persistence,
Imagined, prolonged and sometimes betrays.

We don't need a melting pot in this country, folks. We need a salad bowl. In a salad bowl, you put in the different things. You want the vegetables - the lettuce, the cucumbers, the onions, the green peppers - to maintain their identity. You appreciate differences.

Your Patience Is Needed To Feed It
Don't do it to stop...
No!
Don't do it to drop...
No!
Just you know that...
Every single prayer,
That is made...
Stays right there.
A patience is needed.
Your patience is needed to feed it.
Every single prayer,
That is made...
Stays right there.
A patience is needed.
Don't leave it to disbelieve.
You must keep your faith to receive,
And appreciate what comes to be.
Oh don't exchange woes,
To give up and let go.
Don't you know that...
Every single prayer,
That is made...
Stays right there.
A patience is needed.
Your patience is needed to feed it.
A patience is needed to greet it.
Every single prayer,
That is made...
Stays right there.
A patience is needed.
Don't leave it to disbelieve.
Be right there to meet it and greet.
Don't do it to stop...
No!
Don't do it to drop...
No!
Don't do it to stop...
No!
Don't do it to drop...
No!
A patience is needed.
Your patience is needed to feed it.
Don't do it to stop...
No!
Don't do it to drop...
No!
A patience is needed.
Don't leave it to disbelieve...
Or,
Leave it there unfed to greet.
A patience is needed to meet it.
Your patience is needed to feed it.
Don't do it to stop...
No!
Don't do it to drop...
No!
Don't walk and give it away!
A patience is needed.
Your patience is needed to feed it,
Today!

A Salad to Eat
Different hues...
Some not as bright but invites,
Those who come to eat eagerly
With an assorted presentation
That might satisfy an appetite.
With tomatoes and carrots,
Sliced apples and grapes...
Romaine lettuce sprinkled with chives
Topped with olive oil and vinegar,
Is a treat to see on a plate to delight...
And surprise.
Onions and green peppers,
Can please the eye with sensation.
When someone announces...
'I prefer a salad to eat! '
And they do without a moment's hesitation!

When We Had Been Lovers
If I looked at you again,
I know I would remember when...
We had been lovers.
If I looked at you again,
I know I would remember when...
There was no other,
Lover...
Who caused me much to suffer.
Even though today I'm reminiscing then,
When we were friends.
And...
Even though today I'm reminiscing then,
When our kissing would not end.
Even though today I'm reminiscing then,
When our troubles then began...
And you walked out the door,
To never see you...
Anymore.
If I looked at you again,
I know I would remember when...
We had been lovers.
A love discovered.
If I looked at you again,
I know I would remember when...
There was no other,
Lover...
Who caused me much to suffer.
Even though today I'm reminiscing then,
When we were friends.
And...
Even though today I'm reminiscing then,
When our kissing would not end.
Even though today I'm reminiscing then,
When our troubles then began...
And you walked out the door,
To never see you...
Anymore.

It is a New Day
Today is a new day
today is a new life
today, yes today is a special day
it never has occurred before
the sun light cast on today is ancient
the words I will speak will be for the first time, today
The air I breath is new today
the aches are new as well
the feelings are new today
my cats meow is new today
todays lunch I have is new
the thoughts I think are new today
the life I live today is new
indeed today is a new day

Affirmations(2002-2004)
Today, I will get up before my alarm
Today, I won't close my eyes until dusk
Today, I will not get a speeding ticket
Today, I will count this day as a first
Today, I will enjoy the life that has been left to me
Today, I won't frown over the may-have-beens
Today, I won't cry over the should-have-beens
Today, I won't wonder about the could-have-beens
Today, I'll smile.......Today, I'll Laugh.... Today, I'll relax
Today, I won't feel alone because I don't see you
Today, I'll find something new that wasn't true of you
Today, I won't be afraid to look upon a new face
Today, I'll step up and take my place
Today, I won't think about what I've lost
Today, I'll look forward instead of behind
Today, I'll find some piece of mind
Today, I'll hope.... Today, I'll pray... Today, I'll believe
Today, I'll dream as if I always did
Today, I'll wish on a star the way I used to
Today, I'll reach for the heavens and sigh
Today, My heart will start to heal
Today, the biggest miracle is ME.
Today, Yesterday's problems ceased to be
Today, the rain has stopped and the sun has returned
Today, the breath of kindness is found in words
Today, I wonder.... Today, I am a child.

The Work Resistant Man
The knockers pigeon hole him as the work resistant man
And they say he has never worked and that work not in his future plan
And that he's one of those people who is softened from welfare
Just one of the bone lazy his type are everywhere.
But Mrs Blake the old age pensioner with them would not agree
He built her garden fence for her and his services were free
She could not afford to pay him but he said that is okay
And she will tell you men like him are very rare today.
On old John the octogenarian the years now taking toll
He cannot afford to pay for to mow his grass due to circumstances beyond his control
But the so called work resistant man he works for him for free
And John will tell you that there is no greater man than he.
He works for poor aged people who struggle to get by
And he never asks for money he is that sort of a guy
And though to work for wealthy factory boss not in his future plan
He is not what you would call a work resistant man.

Soup of day
She said severely:
“God have said: the soup must be warm! ”
It was a Gazpacho, a cold soup to a warm evening.
I have mixed tomatos, cucumbers,
red and green peppers,
red onions, a few garlics,
a few parsleys and coriander.
This soup had a beautiful colour: red and green! green and red!
It was cold, very cold, iced.
I have warmed up her soup
I have grilled also some scallops
with a pistachio dressing
she said:
“It is delightful mostly the orange and red parts.”
It was only a question of colours
I have dreamt at a blue gazpacho, blue scallops
Blue like the sea but the sea is never blue
and the blue is not a tasty colour.
Then we have recited some french poems
This evening was quiet and tender
despite the heat wave.
I like to remember this iced soup
and the awful warmth.

Neither 'Dope' Nor 'Sick
Too much of today's nonsense,
I carried on my heart and this had to be confronted.
It had to stop from where it started.
Although many 'ifs' I had a lot!
And those big lip kids on my block...
You know the ones,
That taunt their parents, the elders AND the cops...
Would look at me when I spoke to them.
As if I was a fossil that had rotted!
'Drop poppa.
He too old.
The words he say are molded.
Drop poppa from the mix.
He's neither 'dope' nor 'sick'.
Drop poppa.
He too old.
The words he say are from a tired soul...
And he molded.
Drop poppa from the mix.
He's neither 'dope' nor 'sick'.
Ignore that old man quick! '
I remember when dope made one loopy.
And sick meant ill.
Today these kids say 'dope' to mean 'hip'.
And being 'sick' to them puts things,
On the top of their list.
To agitate...
That's all that is!
And today,
One either ages gracefully...
Or become so crazed,
Their days ar spent being fed in cages.
Or in some locked up room to gloom.
Drop poppa?
Oh it's okay if I am kicked to the curb.
Drop poppa?
Oh it's okay if I am ignored,
And left with a peace of mind I deserve.
~That's the point of wanting you all away from me.
And pull up those pants.
You look as if you're in need of a diaper change! ~

Stewing To Do A Brooding
I know I am aging at a rapid pace,
Because I can no longer tolerate...
Those who make excuses,
With a truth they can not face.
Today so many seem to wish an escape,
From their mistakes they can not admit.
And quick with unsilent lips they are,
To review a stewing to do a brooding over it.
And since my patience has gone,
To listen to the same song sung...
From Sunset to dawn prolonged too long,
I immediately exit from it as being relevant.
I know I am aging at a rapid pace,
Because I can no longer tolerate...
Those who make excuses,
With a truth they can not face.
And it gets annoying to hear,
A voice deceptively lamenting...
Over what was done when they were young,
With a venting of their issues unending.

Today
There has been a day like today
But a fresh new day is today
It is a unique day today
It is wide open today
All the answers for our questions has today
Let us dream today
Let us laugh today
Let us share our love today
Let us express our greatness today
Let us trade many a yesterday for today
Let us perform our tasks today
Let us make it a magnificent today
Let us thank God for giving life today
Let us thank God for seeing His creations today
Let us love most about today
A golden day is today
For it is a fact today
It has arrived today!

You've Got to Notice...
You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.
You've got to watch.Your back.
And every little step you take.
You can not stop.To drop...
A point of view someone will take,
And hate...you!
You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.
You can not smile. Or nod. Or say hello,
'Have a good day! '
You may regret.Someone you've met.
Then get upset.
When they just turn, and walk away!
That's how it is today.
You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.
You've got to watch.Your back.
And every little step you take.
You can not stop.To drop...
A point of view someone will take,
And hate with such rage....displayed.
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.
Don't stop. Don't stop!
Pat your feet to the beat...
Repeat!
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.
You've got to notice...
Something's wrong about these times.
You've got to notice...
People clearly out of their minds.
You've got to watch.Your back.
And every little step you take.
You can not stop.To drop...
A point of view someone will take,
And hate...you!
You can not smile. Or nod. Or say hello,
'Have a good day! '
You'll be hated anyway...
Today.
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Each and every day.
Today...
People are in a rage.
Today...
People are quick to rage.
And getting crazier...
Every day.
Don't stop. Don't stop!
Pat your feet to the beat...
Repeat!
Snap or pop your fingers,
As you hip hop down the streets.
Today!
People display such a craze!
And it seems to be 'okay',
This way!

Marcus
I am joyous today because,
I have given birth to a son for my husband;
For he who is called Marcus is very glad today.
Of the shades of yellow, brown, green and red;
Of the shades of black, white, blue and orange;
I am very joyous today because of you Marcus.
Of the laborious process,
In Medieval and Byzantine times;
Today i have given birth to a son for my husband.
Of the fruits, vases, butterflies, birds, animals and the landscapes;
Of the love, peace, care, kindness, hope, and the dreams;
For he who is callled Marcus is very glad today.

Today (Earth Song)
Please oh please
where blue ain't green
so flowers can bloom and birds can sing
today
Hang out with your friends
cool breezing sun
and I'ma join y'all so we can all have fun
today
and blow me a kiss
and dry my clothes
while I run through the sheets like I'm 5 years old
today
You got the natural wood grain with the big ol' 'fro
your fresh 15's got me ridin' low
today
smile today
smile today
smile today
smile
today
See you got this new man
who treats you wrong
but I'ma do you good before your youth's been gone
today
and if you feelin' kinda grey
I understand
emotions sway but I'm still your friend
today
You got bugs in your house
that you let run free
but if they don't bug you then they don't bug me
today
See, I respect you and you respect me back
so I'ma make sure I put my trash in the sack
today
smile today
smile today..
(feel good today)
In origin brown you look so young
so let's spend the night 'n tell purple to come
today
and I'ma sing you a song so play that track
with the creekers in the back that so abstract
today
and as I take a deep breath
I close my eyes
I say a little prayer for the sun to rise
today
(tomorrow)
and I see in the morning all bright and fresh
and I'll be the girl in the yellow dress
new day, new day
smile today
smile today
...

Is Today the Day
Is today the day
we tell Satan flee
is today the day
we will be free
Is today the day
we curl and run
is today the day
we use that gun
Is today the day
much like before
Is today the day
to close the door
Is today the day
the walls come down
Is today the day
we will abound
Is today the day
we ask Jesus in
Is today the day
life begins again
Is today the day
we help a friend
is today the day
Will we let Him in

Today...
Today, the leaves were greener
Today, the sky wasn’t grey
Today, the sun was brighter
Yes, it changed today
Today, people transformed
Today, they weren’t rude
Today, I felt loved
All just today, it’s true
Today, I lived for today
Today, was not for the future
Today, was a great day
Not menial, tiring, brutal
Today, I laughed in silence
Today didn’t make me cry
Today, everything became clearer
But, today, I couldn’t figure out why
And today, if everything changed
And today, if it wasn’t a dream
I don’t know what happened
But today will become everyday, it seems.

How The Chickens Were Fed
It is practically an impossibility,
Not to be affected...
By a testing of patience.
Especially today,
When people today are becoming more aware...
Of their diets and what they consume to eat.
To remain calm and understanding,
Without the gritting of one's teeth...
Is challenging.
Try patiently standing behind someone,
In a line at your favorite grocery store.
And your time once precious...
Is not to them anymore.
In fact...
It has been decided,
Your time and everyone in that line...
Comes to a halt.
As that person wishes to know...
How the chickens were fed?
Where the potatoes were grown?
If the vegetables are fresh and organic?
And if the beef they wish to purchase,
Had quick or prolonged deaths.
Since this might have some affect,
On their digestion.
And...
They demand these answers,
From a store manager on a lunch break.

You Better Spice This With Brown Sugar
Last night...
I whipped up something,
To quench my appetite.
I diced onions and green peppers.
With tomatoes,
Broccoli and carrots too!
Knowing this would be liked.
I added red cabbage, potatos...
Dashed with salt and red pepper.
And other ingredients like curry...
To stimulate the brew.
'Something' said,
'You better spice this with brown sugar.'
So this I did do.
Then I next heated a frying pan.
From slow to medium.
But not hot!
With vegetable oil, butter and a bit of soy.
And all of it simmered in an aromatic splender.
And I ate it.
EVERY drop.
It was great!
And,
I must admit this...
I did lick the plate.
