I Kinda Figured It All Out By Myself
'Daddy...
When I called for you last night,
To bring me a glass of water.
And you were moaning.
And mommy was calling God.
I yelled even louder!
But you didn't hear me!
And I waited for God to bring me water!
But He didn't do the job! '
What are you saying, young man?
'Nothing daddy.
I kinda figured it all out by myself! '

What Children Worry About
Mommy
Mommy, mommy
what’s going on in the world today?
Mommy am I going to be OK?
I heard some kids were wearing bombs
and blowing people up..
Mommy their world is very far away.
They can’t come here, right mommy?
Am I going to be OK.

Daddy
Daddy, daddy
I asked mommy some questions yesterday,
and tears were in her eyes.
She’s really scared daddy,
I know the reason why.
The kids with bombs,
might be here in our schools.
They won’t listen to the rules.
Mommy is really scared that one day,
you’ll both have no choice but to send me away

Mommy, Daddy
Mommy, Daddy, there’s no reason to fear
I figured it out late last night.
I said the words for God to hear.
I know He knows all things
and will do what’s right,
sooo… we say the words for God to hear,
everyday and every night.
Guess what Mommy, Daddy
everything will be alright.
Mommy, why are you still crying? ? ?

The Diary Of A Young Girl (diary From An Angel)
Dear Diary,
Daddy was on the couch again
Mommy left again.
I walked alone to school today,
Somtimes i feel alone, sometimes I feel like a real lady.
My friend left me at lunch,
I was alone, I miss her a bunch.
I got a bruise from daddy,
He told me I have to do what he says, and call him daddy
Mommy got home late tonight,
But thats no different from every night.
Daddy put me in bed with him,
I said I didn't want to, but he made me do it with him.
I cut myself, I cut my arm,
I sat and did my own harm.
Daddy and mommy were yelling,
Please don't tell, the don't know I am telling.
Daddy threatened me,
He said I ruined his life, and that I can't start new.
Mommy said I was nothing
God said she's bluffing.
Daddy killed mommy today,
As I sat and watched today.
Mommy left me alone here,
I can't feel her near.
Daddy says I'm his now, his to enjoy,
That my body is his toy.
Daddy cut through my body,
He didn't stop, even when i said I had to go potty.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I met god today
I saw mommy's face again today.
I don't want to see daddy again,
Not after the pain he's left with me, with nothing to gain.
I left him alone in the world,
I left him alone.
He hurt me yesterday, that's all I know now,
I'll never forget...... I don't know how

Daddy Why?
Daddy why did you leave Mommy before I was born?
Daddy why weren't you there for my birth?
Daddy why did you divorce Mommy when I was only five months old?
Daddy why did you day those mean things about Mommy?
Daddy why weren't you there for my first birthday?
Daddy why weren't you there when I took my first step?
Daddy why weren't you there when I got hurt?
Daddy why weren't you there when I became a teenager?
Daddy you're not going to be there when I turn 16.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I graduate from high school.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I get married.
Daddy you're not going to be there when I have children of my own.
Daddy you're NEVER going to be here.
Daddy you had a choice.
Daddy I chose too.
Daddy I NEVER WANT TO BE LIKE YOU!

My Daddy
My daddy was never there for me.
My daddy always drank.
My daddy told me I was worthless and unworthy of his time.
My daddy was the one who made me, but also broke me.
My daddy never came to my birthday parties.
My daddy came to my 5Th grade graduation drunk as can be.
My daddy would walk into my room every night with a belt in his hand.
My daddy was the one who shattered all my dreams.
My daddy wouldn't let me sleep until he hit me.
My daddy would tell me I'm nothing but a piece of crap.
My daddy was the one who tore my life into pieces.
My daddy is not my daddy any more...
He can be your daddy if you'll take him.
That man I called my daddy, he never was truly a daddy.
But he was still my daddy.

Mommy & Daddy
Ask your mommy and daddy, what happened to the indian?
How come theyre all living in places
With too much snow or too much sand?
Tell your mommy, I got a funny feeling deep inside of me
Ask your daddy, is it really as bad as people make it seem?
Wa ta tick it ta too too..
Ask your mommy why everybody swallows all those little pills
Ask your daddy why that soldier doesnt care who he kills
After theyve put you to sleep and tucked you safely down in your bed
Whisper, mommy and daddy would you rather that
I learned it from my friends, instead?
Do you think Im to young to know, to see, to feel, or hear
My questions need an answer or a vaccuum will appear
Dont be surprised if they turn and walk away
And tell your mommy and daddy that you love them anyway
That you love them anyway...
Give them a kiss
Love will set you free
Kings of emi
Mommy and daddy (alt.)
Ask your mommy and daddy, what happened to the indian?
Ask your mommy and daddy to tell you where you really came from
Then mommy and daddy will probably turn and quickly walk away
Then ask your mommy and daddy who really killed j.f.k
Wa ta tick it ta too too...
Ask your mommy if she really gets off on all her - all her pills
Ask your daddy, why doesnt that soldier care who he kills?
After theyve put you to sleep and tucked you safely down in your bed
Whisper mommy and daddy,
Would it matter if the bullet went through my head?
If it was my blood spilling on the kitchen floor
If it was my blood, mommy, would you care a little more?
Dont be surprised when they turn and start to cry
And tell your mommy and daddy, tell your mommy and daddy
Scream it to your mommy and daddy
Theyre living in a lie, a lie, a lie
Its all a lie, a lie, a lie
A lie, a lie...

T'was the Night Before Christmas
Her mommy was sound asleep, Her daddy was on the couch, Watchin' the T.V, She got up to use the potty, Hopefully he wouldn't see, Then she got back in her bed, She heard him walkin', And fallin' on the walls, 'cause he was drunk,
Then she prayed: 'Hopefully he wouldn't slap me, Please don't let him kick, Please not a bite or a scratch, Not even a knick, Please don't let it happen, Not on this wonderful night...', Then he opened her door, Grabed her by her neck, What a horibble sight, He put her down with a slam, Grabed her by her hair, And pulled her down the hall,
She screamed, She kicked, Then she yelled, 'WHAT DID I DO? ' After that he let go, He punched, He hit, There was nothing she could do, But lay there and cry,
Then her mommy screamed at her, For making her daddy angry, Mommy grabed a beer bottle, Then through it a her head, Her mommy said 'clean up this mess then go back to bed', She did as her mommy said, Then her mommy grabed her daddy by the arm, And went back to bed, Then she noticed she was bleeding from her head,
She grabed the phone and called 911, But I guess they were to late, 'cause when they got there, She was already dead,
T'was the night, Before christmas, The same night that little girl died, If you listen closely, You can still hear her cry.

If Daddy Only Knew
I wonder if Daddy knew I had to become super-responsible and a miniature adult at the age of 12
I wonder if Daddy knew life at home was full of broken promises and full of disappointment.
I wonder if Daddy knew why he didn't ever carry me fishing
I wonder if Daddy knew why I had to take life so seriously
I wonder if Daddy knew why I couldn't have fun like my other friends
I wonder if Daddy knew I never really knew what 'normal' was
I wonder if Daddy knew I had to lie and cover up the truth about our family for all those years when telling the truth would have been easier
I wonder if Daddy knew why he didn't ever tell me he loved me. Was it because I was a little 'man'?
I wonder if Daddy knew why he didn't come to my graduation?
I wonder if Daddy knew how much I loved him?
I wonder if Daddy knew how many times the arguments and yelling was my bedtime lullaby?
I wonder if Daddy knew..................that I knew

She Called Me Daddy
She's gone
I froze her out
Move by move
First I didn't hold her hand
Then I didn't touch her in bed
Then I wasn't tender with her upsets
Then I just told her to go
And still, she didn't go
I had to push.
Now this place is peaceful as a grave
It's dead quiet without her
And her stupid t.v. shows
And young girl laughing
I was always ashamed she read Cosmopolitan
I should have been proud of her
What did she want that was so bad?
She just wanted to believe that someone would
Love her and look after her always
She called me Daddy
She called me Daddy

Dont Cry Daddy
(words & music by scott davis)
Today I stumbled from my bed
With thunder crashing in my head
My pillow still wet
From last night tears
And as I think of giving up
A voice inside my coffee-cup
Kept crying but
And ringing in my ears
Dont cry daddy
Daddy, please dont cry
Daddy, youve still got me and little tommy
Together well find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please dont cry
Why are children always first
To feel the pain and hurt the worst
Its true, but somehow
It just dont seem right
cause evry time I cry I know
It hurts my little children so
I wonder will it be the same tonight
Dont cry daddy
Daddy, please dont cry
Daddy, youve still got me and little tommy
Together well find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please dont cry
Oh, daddy, please dont cry

All I Wanted Was Some Water
Mommy?
Mommy...
I want some water.
'Not until I hear that magic word.'
What magic word, mommy?
'That word you hear me say to you,
All the time whenever you want something.'
Okay.
Mommy...
May I have some water,
Damnit.
'No!
It's PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...
Damnit.'
Mommy may I have some water?
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...
Damnit.
'You go to your room...
Right this minute.'
WHY?
All I wanted was some water.
'Damnit...
It's PLEASE.'
No thanks.
I'm not going through that again.
I know what time of the month this is.
Daddy told me all about it.
'WHAT? '

Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy
(Buck Owens & Don Rich)
Well, Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like him
It's not the way I had him pictured
Santa was a much too thin
He didn't come down the chimney
So momma musta let him in
Yeah, Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like him.
Well they thought I was a sleepin'
They thought I was tucked in bed
They never thought that I'd come a peepin'
Or that I'd hear what was said
Santa put his arm around momma
And momma put her arm around him
So if Santa Claus ain't daddy
Then I'm a gonna tell on them.
Well, Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like him
It's not the way I had him pictured
Santa was a much too thin
He didn't come down the chimney
So momma musta let him in
Well, Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like him.
I never saw Dancer or Prancer
I never heard the sleigh bells ring
I never saw the red nosed reindeer
Like they show on the TV screen
But he sure bought alot of presents
So Santa Claus he must have been
Well, he sure looked a lot like daddy
And daddy looked alot like him.
Well, Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like him
It's not the way I had him pictured
Santa was a much too thin
He didn't come down the chimney
So momma musta let him in
Well, Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like him.
Santa looked a lot like daddy
Or daddy looked alot like
Daddy looked alot like him...

War No More
Daddy why are you wearing that armoured suit?
Where do you want to go with your decent youth?
Don't you think, mommy can't nursed us alone?
Who are going to fight with that firing bone?
isn't your enemy my uncle?
Aren't you ashamed to show my nephews that pistol?
Daddy can't their be war no more?
Can't you mend your sour with love color?
since you bring me to this bowl
all I dream is the struggle of despairing soul
Daddy how many children had you made orphan?
Don't you think I'll one day fall in that clan?
Daddy why are we fighting war?
Is it because of that ornamented earth core?
daddy are you fighting for we?
Or Is your country not yet free?
Daddy wouldn't their ever be war no more?
Please answer me what should I tell my seeds in the future?

Mommy Daddy You & I
All the way home from baltimore
We couldn't find a seat
Conductor says he's sorry for
The blisters on our feet
Comes a-riding in a bus
The high and the low
Mommy, daddy, you and i
Going on a trip
And we're not going home
Mommy, daddy, you and i
Driving, keep driving
Driving, driving all night
Sleeping on my daddy's shoulder
Drinking from a paper cup
And i'm wearing my grandfather's clothes
And they say that up north it gets cold
Crawling out of bed one night
Walking in my sleep
We're not the only family
To take this little trip
Driving all the way up
It's 30 below
Mommy, daddy, you and i
Even little kids
Getting ready to go
Mommy, daddy,you and i
Chilly, chilly-willy
It's colder the further we go
Some are born to take advantage
But saying it don't make it so
So hold me and don't let me go
'cause the sidewalks are covered with snow
He's speaking english now
And he's smoothing out his clothes
He's mr. button down
He's leaving home
Making changes day by day
And we still ain't got no plan
How we gonna make our way
In this foreign land?
Well we'll keep driving, keep driving
Driving with all of our might
Changing, still changing
Changing the water of life
Keep that little man a shining
See how the tail can wag the dog
And we're all riding in this old bus
And the driver is singing to us
And we're wearing out grandfather's clothes
'cause we heard that up north it gets cold

Daddy Died Mommy Cried The Little Girl Laughed
Daddy is dead
Mommy shakes her head
They say Mommy poisoned him
And all the little girl can do is laugh
The little girl wanted to shout joyfully
It was all the little girl's fault
The little girl poisoned Daddy
Finally the little girl's revenge
Mommy and Daddy used to beat the little girl all the time
Mommy would watch and laugh while the little girl screamed
Because Daddy was raping the little girl
hey people a girl i knew wrote this poem

Smile
Daddy says "Come and sit on my knee"
Daddy says "You're the only girl for me"
'Cos Amelia, "You're Daddy's favourite girl"
Amelia, "Daddy loves his little girl"
Daddy comes in the dark of night
Daddy say "Don't be scared, it'll be alright"
Amelia, "Daddy hates to see you cry"
Amelia, "You're the apple of Daddy's eye"
Daddy says "Dry your tears and give me a smile"
Daddy says "If you're good I'll hold you awhile"
'Cos Amelia, "You're daddy's precious girl"
Amelia, "Daddy loves to love his little girl"
"Daddy, tell me Daddy,
Is this really love?"
Daddy says "Don't tell Mama what I do to you"
Daddy says "If you do I'll beat you black and blue"
'Cos Amelia, "You make Daddy feel like a man"
Amelia, "Daddy loves you more than Mummy can"
"Daddy, tell me, Daddy,
How can you call this love?"

The Simple Prayer Of A Child
'missing in action'...
they didnt know...
dont get your hopes up,
we're doing all we can...
she lay on the bed
and wept uncontrollably...
the little boy sat in the darkness,
thinking...
he got down off his bed,
and down on his knees:
'God, if you're out there,
if you're real...
help my mommy, help me,
bring my daddy home! '
the room was still,
he could hear his own breathing...
suddenly light poured through
the window, and flooded his room.
the little boy got up
and ran to his mother's side.
'mommy, mommy, daddy's ok,
he's not lost...'
'what do you mean, honey?
what are you saying? '
'he's not lost, mommy...
remember what he said
before he left...
he's in our hearts! '
she took the little boy
in her arms and hugged him...
they fell asleep in the stillness.
the next morning the phone rang.
she answered, and listened,
her mouth agape...
'what is it mommy, what is it? '
she put down the phone...
'they found him, he's ok,
they said it was dumb luck...'
they hugged each other crying.
dumb luck, i think not...
the simple prayer of a child!

Woke Up With A Monster
Words and music by rick nielsen, robin zander and tom petersson
Hush little darling, dont you cry.
Daddys coming home, coming home tonight.
No bed of roses for your head, for you.
You see no future, its all in the past.
This is a nightmare, wont be your last.
Its hard to admit, its hard to admit youre that blind.
Mommy and daddy dont see eye to eye.
Mommy and daddy dont see when we cry.
Mommy and daddy they dont understand.
Whats wrong with this picture, is right in their hands.
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Woke up with a monster. ah.___
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Woke up with a monster. ah.___
Hush little darling, dont be long.
Mommas little angel cant do nothing wrong.
No bed of roses in your head, for you.
Wholl dry your tear when you cry?
Daddys comin home just in time.
Will, he be the one to make it, to help make it right?
Mommy and daddy dont see eye to eye.
Mommy and daddy make each other cry.
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Woke up with a monster. ah.___
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Woke up with a monster. ah.___
Not sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Not sleeping with an angel. ah.___
Mommy and daddy dont see eye to eye.
Mommy and daddy dont hear when we cry.
Mommy and daddy dont see eye to eye.
Mommy and daddy dont see when we cry.
Mommy and daddy they dont understand.
Whats wrong with this picture, is right in their hands.
Sleeping with an angel. ah.___

I Wish My Own Uterus Was Left Alone
Didn't I tell you not to use,
That kind of language 'inside' this house?
'Yeah, but mommy...
Daddy uses it inside, outside,
And 'everywhere'.'
And tell me this,
Why is it you rush to the mailbox...
When the mailman comes everyday.
What's going on?
'I'm waiting for a letter from the President.
I wrote to ask him a question.
I want to know why he hasn't replaced my piggy bank.
With the money I had in it.'
Didn't I tell you your father did that?
'Yeah but daddy said if it wasn't for the President,
The gas prices wouldn't be high.
And he would be able to buy his own cigarettes.'
The President had nothing to do with your father's actions.
'Tell that to daddy.
He said he can't wait to vote him out of office.'
And what do you think the President will say about that?
'I don't care.
I just want my money and my piggy bank back.'
I wish my own uterus was left alone.
Without debating over who stays and who goes.
Pretty soon we'll need permission to use the bathroom.
'Huh? '
Don't worry about it.
Trust me.
What you have and how it's used...
Will 'never' be up for debate.
'Mommy?
Nevermind.
I don't even know what to ask.
I'll just wait to get my letter from the President.'

Daddy Come And Get Me
In this mental institution, lookin' out through these iron bars
How could he put me in here, how could he go that far
Yes i need help but not this kind, he didn't love me from the start
But it's not my mind that's broken, it's my heart
Oh daddy come and get me and take me home with you
I'm depending on you daddy, there's nothing i can do
And you said that i could come to you if i ever was in need
But daddy i can't come to you, you'll have to come to me
When he said he loved another, i was crazy with jealousy
That's 'cause i was crazy over him and i couldn't stand to set him free
And i couldn't stand to lose him and i cried and cried for days
And he said that i was crazy but he just put me in here to get me out of his way
Daddy come and get me
Oh daddy come and get me and take me home with you
I'm depending on you daddy 'cause there's nothing else i can do
And you said that i could come to you if i ever was in need
But daddy i can't come to you, you'll have to come to me
Oh daddy, come and get me
