Gold Dipped and Personalized
People...
Please.
All of you must listen.
They have dug us into a very deep hole.
And we have stood by long enough.
We can not allow them to do this!
People...
Please.
All of you must listen.
We must insist upon doing this ourselves!
We are more experienced.
And besides...
The shovels we are more accustomed to using,
Are the custom made gold dipped and personalized ones!
With the silver studding around the handles for better gripping.

Dont Listen/ listen
Don't listen when they tell you that you can't be somebody well known someday
Don't listen
to the stupid remarks people say
Don't listen
when people spread rumors.
Listen
when people give you advise
Listen
when they try to bring you spirit high
Listen
because they always try to help you.
Don't listen
to the people who try to get you high
Don't listen
to the people who lie
Don't listen
to the people who tell you that your ugly.
Listen
to the people who make you smile
Listen
to the people and get to know them for a while

That Hole Is Not Of Our Making
Although their fingerprints appear,
On the shovels used to dig themselves...
Into a hole so deep,
Those still digging can not be seen...
The ones standing above it and looking below,
Wish to have the ones they have deceived...
Believe they had nothing to do with it.
'But it is clear to everyone,
Your fingerprints appear on the shovels.
And your hands and pockets are covered with dirt.'
~We've only come to sample the richness of it.
But that hole is not of our making.'
'Can you explain why the ones in the hole below,
Have chosen to scream out your names?
Begging to be rescued from their predicament? '
~We too are mystified just like you.
However...
We have come together to insist,
Everyone should participate...
To free us from this embarrassment.~

Some People Listen Some People Don't
You judge me before my words can come out
You can’t even look my way
And you leave me with no doubt
You won’t listen to a word I say
And I will never be heard by you
No matter what it is that I do
Some people listen some people don’t
Some people listen some people won’t
You shut me up before I can speak
You shut me up so you can keep me weak
Now I breaking all your rules
That you have made just for me
To keep me away from my history
From my strength and my dignity
Some people listen some people don’t
Some people listen some people won’t
You don’t know how many times I have prayed
That you would hear the words that I have to say
Now get out of the way
Because we no longer have to stay in this prison of the mind
Because we find you guilty of the ultimate crime
Now get out of the way
So that they can hear what I have to say
And begin to make their plans for escape today
Even though you made me a thug,
It is out of love that I put my message out
Find your voice in school and follow the Golden Rule
And shout it out, with out a doubt
That you will be heard, until you are heard
Right down to the very last word
Some people listen some people don’t
Some people listen some people won’t

Listen to each drop of rain (listen listen)

Whispering secrets in rain (listen listen)

Frantically searching for someone to hear
That story be more than it hides
Please don't let go
Can't we stay for a while?
It's just to hard to say goodbye
Listen to the rain
Aa...ah
Listen listen listen listen listen listen to the rain
Weeping
Oo...ooh oooh ooh oo...ooh
Oo...ooh oooh oh oh
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen
I stand alone in the storm (listen listen)
Suddenly sweet words take hold
(Listen listen)
Hurry they stay for you haven't much time
Open your eyes to the love around you
You can feel youre alone
But I'm here still with you
You can do what you dream
Just remember to listen to the rain

Listen, Listen
Listen, listen to the life all around.
You need not put your ear to the ground.
For what springs forth is already here.
It's just repeating year after year.
There's grass growing green mixed with weeds.
There are people doing good and bad deeds.
There are babes being born and some that we mourn
as we listen to life all around.
Listen, listen to the life that's here.
You need not shirk from it. You need not fear.
For the fearful ones will ne'er be content.
They'll shake where they stand with discontent.
There are birds that sing, then eat the worm.
There are people that are well and some with germ.
There are raindrops falling and the echoes of drought
as we listen to life all around.
Listen, listen to the life on earth.
You need not search hard for there is no dearth.
It's there in abundance. It's in full bloom.
It's outside among the flowers and inside every room.
There are cats that purr and some that screech.
There are people that listen and people that preach.
There are words in the air and true words of prayer
as we listen to life all around.

A Song for Iraq
Listen, people are crying
Listen, bombs are raining
Listen, missiles are pounding
Fires are spreading
Houses are burning
People are running.
Listen, mothers are screaming
Listen, children are dying
Listen, soldiers are bleeding
Death is growing
Hate is rising
Where are we heading?
Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho,
Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.

The Art Of My Poetry
Listen to the art of my poetry,
Listen oh mankind!
What goes around comes around,
And like the things seen in and around us;
But not all the governments are doing well on this earth.
Why are many people suffering ans starving?
Listen to the art of my poetry;
Why are there many bombs in our backyards?
Listen to the art of my poetry;
Why should there be many people sleeping on the streets while,
There are governments ruling over them?
I have seen people drinking from dirty water,
I have seen people eating from the garbage dump,
Yet still there are governments ruling over them;
Listen oh mankind!
Listen to the art of my poetry.

Sonnet- O Listen To...
O listen to the songs, so sweet of Birds;
0 listen to the sea-waves hitting shore;
0 listen to the noise of trampling herds;
0 listen to the breeze that slams the door.
0 listen to the animals all wild;
0 listen to the Wind that howls and screams;
0 listen to the cries of orphaned child;
0 listen to the shrieks of ghosts in dreams.
0 listen to the beggar asking alms;
0 listen to the noises made by Science;
0 listen to the children clapping palms;
0 listen to God-given Conscience.
0 listen within you and hear God's call;
The Holy Spirit dwells in good souls- all.

Their Closest Relatives
People hypnotized and transfixed,
Have grown more accustomed
To their movie productions.
And those creative emotional TV shows.
So accustomed to myths,
People are.
And the praying to what is believed,
To what has been embedded
In their minds,
Exists.
People do not wish to be told,
About the thought process of Nature.
And how that goes.
Or about Earth and Mother Nature.
The relationship between them.
How that works and what they know.
People wish and desire to accept,
They are more powerful
Than that which 'allowed' them life,
And gave to them breath.
People reject with a dismissing of this,
That which gifted them and permitted their lives.
People have grown more accustomed,
To their movie productions.
And those creative emotional TV shows.
Yet,
Give zero respect to their closest relatives.
The Sun, The Moon
And how together,
They affect their lives lived here on Earth.
People have chosen to become accustomed,
To ignoring as if they do not hear or listen.
Or are aware of them with comprehension.
People choose not to accept this as is.
People choose to believe from that which exist,
They are not born from it.
People choose for themselves to believe,
For them
There is no connection to perceive.
Even though what is they can not conceive,
Flows through their veins and bleeds!

Silver And Gold
Silver, silver and gold
Silver and gold, silver and gold
Ev'ryone wishes for silver and gold
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth.
Silver and gold, silver and gold
Mean so much more when I see
Silver and gold decorations
On ev'ry Christmas tree.
Silver, silver and gold
Silver, silver and gold
Silver and gold
Silver and gold
Silver and gold
Wise men brought gifts to the mange I'm told
Mary was humble to see
Shepherds and kings there on bended knees
It's silver and gold, silver and gold
Feeling the world with their lives
Silver and gold how they shimmer on ev'ry Christmas night
On ev'ry Christmas night
Silver, silver and gold

The Wall Clock And The Stairs....
all the sad and lonely people
they are all here
gathered,
all the sad and lonely people
they are all here
and i listen, listen all too well
and i ask myself, from where do all these lonely people come from?
and i ask some of them, from where do you come from?
all the lonely and sad people do not answer
they are well dressed, and square and straight and prim and proper
their lips are sealed and their gazes are deep
all the lonely and sad people with their wits on, their wisdom kept
in the silence of their boxes
that thorax, that ax on their backs
no blood at all, no sound, nothing so bad to see
from all these sad and lonely people
who have gathered here
knowing perhaps that we all look the same,
and behave in the same manner
of the wall clock and the stairs.

Son Of Africa
Listen Africa listen!
Listen to the words of a stallion
Listen as I speak of a giant,
An African giant
A giant entangled by his own hand made snares
Yes! Indodana ya se Africa
Un-wax your ears and Listen
Great warrior of the chimurenga,
Phela you stood against white powers
And liberated black wishes
Against the Blairs and Bushes you stood.
Courageous, you battled the spite of the Smith.
Now listen Ndodana ya se Africa
Hear this young stallion galloping towards the truth.
In Limbo you stand snared by your own snares
In Limbo, you warrior remain just a memory
Hau lalela son of the soil,
It’s your people who go under the soil
Their calabashes are dry, they go under the soil.
Under the soil their bellies lie empty
Hau lalela Ndodana ya se Africa
Listen son of Africa
Do not stand as proud as death
Do not let its sting be your companion
An African warrior you must once more become
Adorn the spirit of Madiba, No easy walk to freedom
Remember...Listen...Remember.
T he Ndukus and the rocks, Africa’s weapons of old
Now Son of the Soil’s desires battle against Africa
Hau listen son of Africa
Lalela...listen...lalela

Dyou Know What I Mean?
Back into the hole where I was born
The sun in the sky never raised an eye to me
Theres blood on the tracks, and it must be mine
The fool on the hill, and I feel fine
Dont look back cos you know what you might see
Look into the wall of my minds eye
I think I know, but I dont know why
The questions are the answers you might need
Coming in a mess, going out in style
I aint good-looking, but Im someones child
No-one can give me the air thats mine to breathe
I met my maker, I made him cry
And on my shoulder he asked me why
His people wont fly through the storm,
I said listen up man, they dont even know youre born
All my people right here, right now,
Dyou know what I mean? yeah yeah
All my people right here, right now,
Dyou know what I mean? yeah yeah
All my people right here, right now,
Dyou know what I mean? yeah yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
I dont really care for what you believe
So open up your fist or you wont receive
The thoughts and the words of every man youll need
Get up off the floor and believe in life
No-ones ever gonna ever ask you twice
Get on the bus and bring it on home to me
I met my maker, I made him cry
And on my shoulder he asked me why
His people wont fly through the storm
I said listen up man, they dont even know youre born
All my people right here, right now,
They know what I mean. yeah yeah
All my people right here, right now,
They know what I mean. yeah yeah
All my people right here, right now,
They know what I mean. yeah yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
All my people right here, right now
Dyou know what I mean? yeah yeah
All my people right here, right now
Dyou know what I mean? yeah yeah
All my people right here, right now
Dyou know what I mean? yeah yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

For me, I can only do that from my own experience with people I've known and things that I've lived and experienced. That's what good pop music is all about, pop music that does reach out to people. It's very personalized and very real, honest and sincere.

If You Did Not Know!
If you sit and listen,
To those deranged.
You will leave them believing...
They are innocent of their misfit ways.
And they had nothing to do with,
A way of life that for all has decayed.
With halos adorning upon their heads.
And wings attached from their backs to spread.
If you sit and listen!
If you did not know!
If you thought of them victimized...
In a world they themselves did not bestow,
Their own love to feed and grow...
A decadence!
A decadence only they nurtured.
And allowed themselves to show!
If you sit and listen to them.
And...
If you did not know!
'What is that over there? '
~Oh...
Those are the two million people incarcerated.~
'How did that happen to them? '
~Who knows?
Perhaps that is what they chose.~
A government for the people,
And by the people!
Certain people...
That is.

Listen
Listen to the vines with the thorns
For they are the tricksters
Listen to their wisdom
Listen to the trees
For they are the sages
Listen to them whisper their knowledge in your ear
Listen to the leaves
For they are the talkers
Listen to them talk
Listen to the stream
for it is the dreamer
Listen to its dreams
Listen to mother nature
For she is their mother
Listen with her for she is your mother too

Life Is Truly Like A Stage
If we filmed all our lives,
Would people watch us as we cry,
Would people listen to our lies,
Would people sorrow as we die?
If our stories were to be told,
Would people let the stories unfold,
Would people notice us be so bold,
Would people love us as we grow?
If our lives were to intertwine,
Would people drink it as a wine,
Would people lurk as we shine,
Would people sit as we dine?
If we had a song to sing,
Would people listen to everything,
Would people know our love is like a ring,
Would people know you are my queen?
If we all had an undying love,
Would people let it fly like a dove,
Would people turn to the gods above,
Would people know of our true love?
If I had one thing to give,
Would people know your love is why I live,
Would people know the joy, to me, you give,
Would people know for your love I'd jump a cliff?
If you had one thing to take,
It would be my soul so great,
Now that people know my fate,
It is that my love for you came too late.

Listen My Children
listen to what i have to say
my children listen to what i have to say
i weep for you all the time
yes i do
i see and feel you your pain
so please stretch out your hand and ley me help you
let me light your way through the darkness leading you to happiness
listen to what i have to say
my children listen to what your father has to say
i want to rain my blessings down upon you
and heal you when ever you're ill
my children come to me don't stray to the wrong path
what i can give you is more precious than gold or anything else
and that is a fact
my children listen to my voice
i love you
i care for you
i'll never leave you
i'm always here for you
listen! listen to what i am saying i'mwaiting for you my children
