Eggs Are Laid

Chew the few do on tidbits.
Some onioned and green peppered!
And moo with sounds like cows,
Ruminating cud...
When touched by cool fingertips.
Gently squeezing milk from filled utters.
Hens peck.
Roosters crow.
Eggs are laid...
As opinions are tossed to and fro.
Farming fresh water fished.
And booted to gossip in spring waters.
This, when viewed, inspires appetites to write.
Delighting one to dine...
On the imaginative scrambling to perplex fixed minds.
Sometimes!
Some do chew on tidbits stewed.
Spitting pits of cherries picked,
On a hilltop sitting sniffing fumes of manure.
Thinking of stiff necks to crack...
Within the shells of those stuff shirted backs.
Smacking on rhetoric and tossing crap,
As if narrow points of view...
Will influence a sunnyside up disposition,
Of one who knows they desire news to poach
From all sides of this valley.

Keep On The Sunnyside

(alvin pleasant carter, gary garett)
Theres a dark and a troubled side of life
Theres a bright and a sunnyside, too.
Though we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunnyside we also may view.
Keep on the sunnyside
Always on the sunnyside
Keep on the sunnyside of life.
It will help us every day
It will brighten all our way
If we keep on the sunnyside of life.
The storm and its fury rage today
Crushing hope that we cherished so dear.
Storm and clouds will in time pass away,
The sun again will shine bright and clear.
Keep on the sunnyside
Always on the sunnyside
Keep on the sunnyside of life.
It will help us every day
It will brighten all our way
If we keep on the sunnyside of life.
May the street with the song of hope be paved
Though the moment be cloudy or fair.
May we trust in the good lord always
To keep us everyone in his care.
Keep on the sunnyside
Always on the sunnyside
Keep on the sunnyside of life.
It will help us every day
It will brighten all our way
If we keep on the sunnyside of life.
Keep on the sunnyside
Always on the sunnyside
Keep on the sunnyside of life.
It will help us every day
It will brighten all our way
If we keep on ...

Cows

I love to watch my seven cows
In meads of buttercups abrowse,
With guilded knees;
But even more I love to see
Them chew the cud so tranquilly
In twilight ease.

Each is the image of content
From fragrant hours in clover spent,
'Mid leaf and bud;
As up and down without a pause
Mechanically move their jaws
To chew the cud.

Friend, there's a hope for me and you:
Let us resolve to chew and chew
With molars strong;
The man who learns to masticate
With patience may control his fate,
His life prolong.

In salivation is salvation:
So if some silly little nation
Should bathe in blood,
Let's take a lesson from the cow,
And learn in life's long gloaming how
To chew the cud.

The Cow

Thank you, pretty cow, that made
Pleasant milk to soak my bread,
Every day and every night,
Warm, and fresh, and sweet, and white.

Do not chew the hemlock rank,
Growing on the weedy bank;
But the yellow cowslips eat;
They perhaps will make it sweet.

Where the purple violet grows,
Where the bubbling water flows,
Where the grass is fresh and fine,
Pretty cow, go there to dine.

Spill

Push holes in the plastic
Immaculate dolls in the hands of a child with a ratchet
Two fingers too out of control
The confusion shall leave us to vultures and preachers
I hate it...
Can't take it...
I can't believe it
Why don't you see it?
I can't believe it
Chew me up when needed
Turn over another day older
Another day nearer to jumping on over
Bloodsuckers and lover that leave you
And tease you and cheat you, deceive you I see through
I hate it...
Don't want it...
I can't believe it
Why don't you see it?
I can't believe it
Chew me up when needed
I can't believe it
Why don't you see it?
I can't believe it
Chew me up when needed
I'll say what I wanna say
I'll say what I wanna say
I can't believe it
Why don't you see it?
I can't believe it
Chew me up when needed

A Farmer's Song

One, two and three
Its dawn, and cows are mooing,
cocks are crowing,
a dog is barking,
a new day, welcoming.

Four, five and six
The sun is up, plants are healthy
On goes the counting, hens eggs they lay
Manure is turned for decay,
Cows fed with hay.

Six, seven and eight
Milkman returns pails for day
Cake done, ghee and butter,
Egg trays for this, has made a day
Fruits flourish for better

Nine ends with ten
To, West the Sun retires
Clutter clang, tools return to stores
Dogs released from kennels
Radio some news it blares,
A way the cold is driven with fires.

A Saint I Ain't

If there is anyone seeking,
Anything in my life to taint?
I'll be the first to say...
A saint I ain't!

There is too much to explore.
Too much to experience,
Than to choose it to be ignored.
I want to adventure my life!
And that freedom nature offers.
And I can well afford.

Why should I deny myself...
To please those with their noses in the air?
With their stiff necks.
And their tight high lifted derrières!

People like that...
Can remove their behinds of my track.
The path on which I place my steps...
May shock others to hold their breath.
In fact...
Many like that,
Are busy body pests!
You know the kind...
Those who find time,
To wine and dine their displeasures.
As they pour someone's tea!
And I don't mind at all...
Serving up a full pot of my own for starters.
I want it known...
I can be quite cordial.
Even in the midst,
Of my own possible degradation.
I like to sit...
And listen to this mix of gossip.
The 'seriousness' of it...
Is worth a hasty limited visit.

I choose to do the unexpected.
With God's blessings,
Of course.

If there is anyone seeking,
Anything in my life to taint?
I'll be the first to say...
A saint I ain't!
Or profess to know,
What my 'Creator' wishes.
Like some hypocrites...
Quick to quip from scriptures.

I keep my eye on folks like that!
They can become defensive...
When questioned about their lack of facts.

Nor do I choose to walk on water.
Today...
I probably could.
Much of it is too polluted anyway.
Like some people with minds...
With nothing else to do,
But define how others should be living their lives.
Like 'themselves'...
Who have been certified self righteous.
And gossip as they sit in church pews.
Discussing where the pastor's wife,
Purchased her brand new shoes.

A saint I ain't.
Especially after observing...
Those who make claims,
They are the elite of 'christianity'.
And you can find them anywhere.
Once they have been seen...
Like roosters with hens pecking,
On any scene they pronounce as qualified...
For their self indulgence.

For Those Who Scrutinize Others

This one is for those,
Who scrutinize others.
But are afraid to expose,
Insecurities they hold that smother.

Take some time,
And isolate your druthers.
Don't share them with your sisters,
Or inflict them on your brothers.

Cleanse your mind,
Of judgements that you pass.
Chew your food like cows do!
And fertilize the grass.

This will keep you real busy!
To moo and graze...
Will keep you off the pavement.
And do your do-do too!

On farms where good manure is bagged.

And celebrated you can...
On farmland where manure is bagged!

It Smells So Good and Fresh

Nuts have been cracked from their shells,
And their secret taste now scatters.
The ingredients to flavor on pictured menus shown...
Are not the same,
Brewed by stewed cooks hidden and deranged.
They've been hired to prepare pleasant presentations.
But all guests observing...
Have spotted one among them without class.
And feeding on something,
They find delicious not served to them.
And one of their kind removed his mask and asked:

'What is that you're having?
It smells so good and fresh.
We always accept invitations here...
But this crap we eat is a mess.'

This right here is called Integrity.
Over here is a thick slice of Truth.
You probably got a whiff of this...
This is Self-respect.
And it's Purpose I now slowly chew!

'It must be good?
That's the first time I've seen any of that in here!
Do you mind if I join you? '

No! I don't mind at all!
Just make sure you wash your hands,
Before you sit at my table!
It's important you don't bring any of 'that'...
Over here!
I'm doing the best to keep my 'system' clean!
And with a low profile I have come to enjoy.

Born In Baryards

Born in barnyards, see how roosters strut,
searching for a hen that is a slut.
Wherever men are born they do not care
about most women till they see them bare.
Their eyes that flash like moonshine look around
like roosters for a hen, and once they’ve found
a bird they like they do not need to beg,
and leave her long before she’s laid an egg.
Roosters in the morning crow in time
to wake their counterparts who’re with a hen,
ridiculous sometimes, sometimes sublime,
like roosters always, born as barnyard men.

View The Dragon

View the powerful dragons of this century,
Find their names and view the common logic,
Chew the warehouse with its smoke and abbey.

With computers define the current times abnormally,
Fence in the animals too good and heroic,
View the powerful dragons of this century.

May winter complete nothing of itself as an absentee,
Religion carries the videos and classics heraldic,
Chew the warehouse with its smoke and abbey.

My terms of the moon are foods from absurdity,
Keeping individuals of theology who are heretic,
View the powerful dragons of this century.

Zoology states classes and categories that are lively,
Horns sound on the way to what is hectic,
Chew the warehouse with its smoke and abbey.

My decision guesses as thawing carries on limitlessly,
This day we mar the region of skin that is ironic,
View the powerful dragons of this century,
Chew the warehouse with its smoke and abbey.

Shroomin' Daze

My frontal lobe sent me a message
telling me to recall
a cool October misty morn'

Man what a state of mind I was in
not a state or country or
some foreign land or swelling sea

In a dense moist foggy setting
vast grass, cows galore
heaves of manure too

Shrooms under cow chips
free to pick and bag
time to kick it
dry it, chew it

many friends giggled
I puked, saw GOD
thought I died
yet, simply cried
asleep

The Cool Living Waters

the cool living waters of spring
plunge in like a hot rod wanting pacification
flames of fire
cinders of desire
let us be calm and swim in the cool living waters
of divinity

nude we realize there is shame and we stand
and take the clothes of morality
then we rest under the cool shades of green trees
beside the brook
the winds from the mountains refresh what dimples we have
and we reflect upon the words of God

time moves and stays a while and this evil of boredom comes
idle moments craving for more
and then we stand and play under the sun
we run, we play, we sweat and those that watch us
begin to think
that we are sinners on the loose

cool living waters i ask
bathe and wash all their dirty minds

The Thirsty Crow

Have you ever heard this story before?
Of a wise and clever thirsty crow?
Well, if you haven't then listen
The famous tale of this hero, now let's begin,
It happened when in a spell of dry weather,
The poor birds could find very little water,
This crow, when he felt thirsty,
Searched for some water desperately,
But in summer, as it was great famine,
Even a dropp of water he couldn't find,
This unfortunate fellow thought that he must,
In despair surely die of thirst,
Then suddenly he spied an old pitcher,
Filled with very little water,
But oh! The pitcher was so high with a narrow neck,
The little water, the poor crow could never get,
He was unlucky, thought the crow,
His beak couldn't reach the water as it was low,
Then suddenly a brilliant idea flashed into his mind,
Around him some pebbles he could find,
He picked some pebbles and threw into the pitcher,
And finally the water raised its level,
This clever fellow then threw more pebbles
Until the water was higher in the pitcher,
Higher enough for his beak to reach the water,
The thirsty crow now took a sip of water,
Then drank more water from the pitcher,
Until he was no more thirsty,
The genius crow then flew away,
To tell the world about his victory!

0328 Holy Shit

jeez I thought here’s
this lady I have the greatest
respect for and she
comes out with this holy crap
and holy shit stuff

so yesterday I was
walking through the
winter-wet tufted grass
of the field they keep
the cows in this year
avoiding the cowpatties
the outside tap for
gumboots is frozen

and stopped and looked at one
fresh and steaming
the way you do
and the cow down the field
looked at me with that
not very enquiring look
they have but today
it came across as So?

and I remembered
the milk that morning which
had that layer of extra
spring cream
and the roast beef
smell when the kitchen
door’s open on a
spring day and it all
linked up later

as I got home and sat
contemplating
the bathroom fittings
as one does and
thought

holy shit yeah
the lady’s right

Shame
Dog shame
I know whats wrong
Mans too old and wise
Bring in the dog
Turn on
Down the mountain rescue
Slip and slide when sunny
Small cat better move along
Or this bitch could do harm, baby
Straight as an arrow
Im walking the dog
Three is a crowd
Two is a dog and me playing
(whats he saying)
Free as a cloud
No one ever really knew you
Make clear your illusion no, no, no, no
Some dreams you dream you alone
You thank christ youre coming home
Better better give the dog a bone
Go go go go chew chew chew chew
Some dreams you dream alone
Go get a life and ease the pain
Dogs a best friends dog
Dogs a best friends dog
Word, speech, blurred, bleached
Tell mr godot Im walking the dog
Walking the dog

You thank christ youre coming home

I Used To Be Fat

I used to be fat,
Just like one spoilt brat,
As fat as a brat could be...

I could squash you flat,
Just as quick as that...
No-one stood too close to me...

Started a diet,
No need to fry it
And my weight began to fall!

One book! Just buy it!
You've got to try it!
And here's the number to call...

Just chew, chew, chew it!
Then loo, loo, loo it!
And soon, you'll be on the mend!

How do you do it?
Continue through it!
Persevere, my fat, fat friend!

I chewed like a cow,
Yes, I chewed and how
And I exercised each day...

Ta-da! Take a bow!
Just look at me now!
Admit it! I look O.K.!
