Do Not Wait For Others to Live Up to Expectations
I've learned a few things...
With time and age.
And what experience brings.
One major lesson,
That took a long time for me to accept!
Do not wait for others to live up to expectations.
Yours or theirs,
Suspected or professed.
Time will move on and leave you in regret.
That has been the best lesson yet,
I have learned!

Used To Be Bad
I used to be bad
But I dont have to be bad no more
Yeah, I used to be bad
But I dont have to be bad no more
Well aint no doubt about it, people
Its something you cant ignore
Well, I aint good looking
People, you know Ive been up on a shelf
Yes, I know I aint good looking
And Ive been put up on the shelf
But I got a sweet disposition
I like to enjoy myself
I used to be bad
But I dont have to be bad no more
Yeah, I used to be bad
But I dont have to be bad no more
You know I learned my lesson
A long, long time ago
Well, no matter what you say
No matter what you do
Youve got one life to live
Its gonna come back home to you
I used to be bad
But I dont have to be bad no more
Yeah, people, I learned my lesson
A long, long time ago
The good lord made this world
And everything thats in it
The way I see it, baby
You got to love it to the limit
Oh yes, now people
Its something you cant ignore
Yes I used to be bad
But I aint gonna be bad no more
Well, the way you treat me darling
Made me understand
Never quit you baby
Im gonna love you to the end.
Yeah, I used to be bad
But I aint gonna be bad no more
Yes, I learned my lesson
A long, long time ago
Yes, I learned my lesson
A long, long time ago
Yes, I learned my lesson

Hetuaght me a lesson
He said he was going to
teach me a lesson.
I needed to no some things.
The lesson was rape.
But he said it was a game.
He said I had to learn sometime.
When he'd finished.
He smiled and said.
This happens to
Stupid little girls
All the time.
I was only teaching you a lesson.
If it was a lesson to learn
It was one well tuaght.
Be weary of who you trust.
For you never can
Read people like a book.
If you could
The world would be safe.
It was a lesson hard learned.
One that still remains today.
Its a lesson that effects me still.
I only wish I could
Of turned and run.
Only when your young
Like that you dont
Really understand.
If I did
I would of ran.
A thousand miles a way.
Out of reach.
And out of harms way.

How To Survive Without Riches
First,
We must relax.
And begin to breathe...
Slowly.
In with the new.
And out with the old.
In with the new.
And out with the old.
Remember...
There is only one cycle of breath.
Now...
We are all ready,
To learn a lesson about trust.
Let us all close our eyes...
Gently.
Deep breathe...and,
In with the new.
And out with the old.
In we go...
With the new,
AND...
Removed from us,
Is the old!
In with the...
'Hey?
My watch is gone.'
~Where are my shoes?
My wallet is missing.~
'You said,
We are all going to learn a lesson about trust.
Everything has been taken from us.'
Trust!
Has been a lesson...
A major lesson,
All of you have learned today.
~TRUST?
Everything.
Our valuables have been stolen from us.
That's not trust.
That's THEFT! ~
I disagree.
IN with the NEW.
And OUT with the OLD.
There is nothing crooked about that.
And TRUST?
I think you all have learned that lesson.
DO NOT EVER DO IT!
EVER...
AGAIN!
'What about our valuables?
Our things? '
You have all signed contracts,
Stating you come to me...
For lifestyle changes!
And...
You can admit with assessment,
Everyone here has experienced...
Immediate and rapid change.
Have you not?
I will expect all of you back,
For the next session...
BASIC LIVING!
HOW TO SURVIVE WITHOUT RICHES.
And...
STILL FEEL THE GLOW Of LOVE!

Live To Tell (Live)
I have a tale to tell
Sometimes it gets so hard to hide it well
I was not ready for the fall
Too blind to see the writing on the wall
A man can tell a thousand lies
Ive learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell the secrets I have learned, till then
It will burn inside of me
I know where beauty lives
Ive seen it once I know the warmth she gives
The light that you could never see
It shines inside, you cant take that from me
A man can tell a thousand lies
Ive learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell the secrets I have learned, till then
It will burn inside of me
The truth is never far behind
You kept it hidden well
If I live to tell the secrets I knew then
Will I ever have a chance again ?
If I ran away, Id never have the strength to go very far
How would they hear the beating of my heart ?
Will it grow cold the secrets that I hide ? Will I grow old ?
How would they hear ? They would they learn ?
How would they know ?
A man can tell a thousand lies
Ive learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell the secrets I have learned, till then
It will burn inside of me
The truth is never far behind
You kept it hidden well
If I live to tell the secrets I knew then
Will I ever have a chance again ?
A man can tell a thousand lies
Ive learned my lesson well
Hope I live to tell the secrets I have learned, till then
It will burn inside of me

Its Time You Learned About Goodbye
(alan jackson)
Well Ive been on the wrong side
Of the front door too often
Watched you slam it in my face
Well I may have learned the hard way
Im not a soft one
Tonight Im standin in your place
Cause you taught me a lot about leavin
Wont even have to try
So heres your lesson in heartache and grievin
And a chance for you to cry
Cause its time you learned about goodbye
Ive stood behind you
And Ive laid beside you
But I wont do that anymore
Cause Im tired of bein
Just here when you want me
Tonight Im walkin out that door
Cause you taught me a lot about leavin
Wont even have to try
So heres your lesson in heartache and grievin
And a chance for you to cry
Cause its time you learned about goodbye
Its time you learned about goodbye

Charmed Into It
If there is 'anything' I've learned,
As I continue to live my life...
With widened eyes and healed knees.
And...
With ears alerted like a bat radared for life.
Never will I allow myself,
Consciously...
To revisit an experience that has taught me a lesson.
Nor will I be charmed into it!
Michael Jackson took a few steps backward,
And called that 'moonwalking'.
When I did it,
I called it regret!
I discovered a repetition of that,
Cause me much sorrow!
Never will I allow myself,
Consciously...
To revisit an experience that has taught me a lesson.

It is the invariable lesson to humanity that distance in time, and in space as well, lends focus. It is not recorded, incidentally, that the lesson has ever been permanently learned.

Forgiveness: The Greatest Lesson Ever Learned
Forgiveness,
The greatest lesson ever learned,
From the greatest story ever told.
But is it a story or a promise?
If you do this, you will get this.
That is a promise.
He did this and this is what he experienced.
That is a story.
Simply an outcome.
Their outcome.
What if this were your story?
Could it be the same outcome?
If you do not try, you will never find out.
A muscle being worked out,
Experiences pain, then growth.
The heart is a muscle.
Growth comes from pain.
Am I angry that I am hurt?
Or should I accept?
Others have hurt me,
As I, have hurt others.
From them, I hope for forgiveness,
As a result of the pain I have caused from the mistake,
I have learned.
In the end, they were my blessing.
Another hurts me from their mistake,
They too have learned,
Yet they are my curse?
We are all each others lessons.
Each other's opportunity for growth.
What we embrace, is what we experience.
If we forgive, we are forgiven.
Then we receive the promise.
If the promise is true love,
Then isn't worth the lesson?
If you do not learn the lesson,
You won't get the story.

I've learned
Ive learned that to love someone doesnt have to involve pain,
Ive learned that to have a friend you must be a friend first,
Ive learned that in time youll see your mistakes and learn from them,
Ive learned that to be alone sometimes is the best thing for you,
Ive learned that in order to love a person you must feel loved,
Ive learned that if your wrong admit it or youll never forgive yourself,
Ive learned that your first love will be a part of you and you may never forget,
Ive learned that in order to move on you must fix what was first wrong,
Ive learned that if you ever mess up, you can always start over again,
Ive learned that to be 'cool' doesnt involve pressure,
Ive learned to accept what I have and be happy,
Ive learned that people will come and go so tell the ones you love how you feel,
Ive learned that to respect yourself you must respect others,
Ive learned that your actions always involve consequences whether it be good or bad,
Ive learned that priceless words can mean the world to someone,
Ive learned that sometimes being silent is the best solution,
Ive learned to expect the unexpected,
Ive learned that healing a broken heart involves tears and pain,
Ive learned to see the world in the eyes of others,
And Ive learned that each new day is a day to touch a life.

The More We Try
The more we try
Sung by - kenny loggins -
Some lessons are forever
Never need to change
Write and the word is written
Then we turn the page
But some lessons take forever
Time and time again
Caught in a battle that you cant surrender
And can never win
You tried to make me the boy of your dreams
The ones that you never could find
You thought you saw your face in mine
The more we try, the more we just get lonely
Though youve shown me how
The things you say are true
The lesson learned
Is no concern
If you dont even know me
To need love is all I really learned from you
The more we try, the more we just get lonely
Though youve shown me how
The things you say are true
The lessons learned
Are no concern
Cause you dont even know me
Sure youve done what you can do
But when all our time is through
To be loved is all I ever needed of you

Wasted Years
Wasted years been brainwashed by lies
Oh yes I have
Oh wasted years
Im talking about wasted years
Oh Im not seeing eye-to-eye
I just cant see the things I should see
Wasted years, baby
I was taking the wrong advice
I know you was, I know you was
And I was too
All alone Im travelling
Travelling through these wasted years
For so long, so long, so long I was
Oh, I must have gained some wisdom
Down through the years I did
Somewhere along the way
Oh yes, I did, oh yes I did
Thets why there cant be no more
No more
No more wasted years today
I got wise, I got wise to myself
Well baby the great sadness
Oh, youve got to let it all go
Oh yeah, oh yeah van
Live in the present
Live in the future john lee, aint that so
Oh, its a sad feeling, oh yeah
Oh, youve gotta find something
To carry you through, carry you through,
Carry you through
Ive learned my lesson
I aint gonna do it no more, yeah
Now van
Now john
Ive learned my lesson
I should have a long time ago
Thats right
All these wasted years, wasted years
I finally woke up and got wise
I aint gonna be, aint gonna be no fool no more
Now van, now van
Aint gonna be nobodys bodys fool no more
Sing the song van, sing it with me
Well all alone, all alone Ive been travelling
Yeah
Travelling all along through these wasted years
Dark, dark wasted years
So dark here
Dark, dark, dark, dark wasted years
I must have gained something
Yeah
Oh travelling along the lonely way
Yeah, Ive learned a lesson
Im gonna make damn sure baby, make damn sure
Theres no more wasted years today

Everytime I See This In Others
Every time,
And I've noticed this.
Since you are the lesson taught,
I see in myself.
Everytime.
Every time,
There is an obstacle presented...
For you to overcome,
There you are looking...
For an easy way to go around it.
Instead of confronting it head on,
On a journey meant for you to undo them.
But stubbornly you don't want to do it.
You want to sit and make excuses.
Hoping someone will come along,
To convince you have been victimized...
By someone who wants to see you punished.
And of this you are right.
You are the biggest self abuser you have in your life.
Every time,
And I've noticed this.
Since you are the lesson taught,
I see in myself.
Everytime.
And everytime I see this in others,
I am immediately reminded of myself.
And so blessed I am to recognize it.
Everytime I see how much I have learned.

When You Have Done Your Best
when you have done your best
and they all begin to like
your art
your ways and what you want to become
when they also want to become like you
when you tell them now where to go
and what to do
when they are now at home with themselves
in their own chosen climates and houses
when they have understood their fears
and learned to live with their longings
when they have learned the power
of laughter
when they have learned to dream
when they have learned
how to talk to a tree,
it is time for you to go
you have freed them all from their shackles
you have taught them how to fish
it is time for you to go
your presence has become useless
it is now time to go
human reconstructor.

Discovered and Found
The claims you make are fine.
No one but you can clearly define them.
It is when the mind has been silenced,
Does one find an enlightenment that is divine.
With a truth that is indisputable.
And carried within them all the time.
When this is discovered and found...
It is like a lesson learned.
And lessons,
When learned for what they are...
Become a process of much growth,
Too unforgettable to let go.

Lessons In Love
First you cuddle up beside me nice and near
Then you whisper all the things I long to hear
That's the first lessson in love
Mmmm...Give me your heart
Then you put your two sweet lips on mine like this
And you'll learn the magic of a tender kiss
That's the next lesson in love
Mmmm....lesson in love
It's so easy when you know how
O my darling let me show you now
Last you whisper I love you so sweetly
Then I'll know you've learned it all completely
That's the last lesson in love
Mmmm...baby love me true

Still Trying To Learn That Lesson
In my wildest dreams,
I would never have imagined...
Or in my mind thought to create,
The twists and turns my life has taken.
I am not that innovative.
I learned early as a child,
The term sacrifice.
But the meaning of it,
Has hit home clearly...
On more than one occasion,
With an experience of it.
I also learned the meaning of patience.
But I didn't think,
The meaning of it meant...
I would need to have it for the rest of my life!
'Someone' ordered re-writes to my contract.
I learned early as a child,
The term sacrifice.
But the meaning of it,
Has hits home clearly...
With many fouls to strike out,
To experience with doubts.
And today it seems,
I have accomodated both patience AND sacrifice.
As if inseparable twins loving to dress alike!
However...
I am 'still' trying to learn that lesson,
Why both at the same time...
Have to show up to pluck my nerves?
With the testing of my emotions.
And no one as of yet,
Can supply me with an answer.
Or suggest with a hint or clue,
As to how best to deal with them.
Especially when they pick the wrong time,
To decide to hold a conference with me involved.

Why Empower It With Concern?
When something isn't...
Why empower it with concern?
What lesson is there learned,
By choosing to discuss...
The 'what ifs'.
As if those 'what ifs' breathe and exist!
When something isn't...
Why empower it with concern?
What lesson is there learned,
By choosing to discuss...
The 'what ifs'.
As if those 'what ifs' breathe and exist!
And the next step we need to take...
Is to select someone qualified,
To monitor our decisions and babysit!
And that time spent doing this...
Has been wasted like devalued dollars,
We struggle to find ways to throw away...
Or burn.
With no regard and less concern.
And that is the headache we've lived to earn.
Too many are already confused in creating solutions.
All we need to do,
Is to commit ourselves to have nothing to do with it.
Already you look relieved!

Terrible place
There is time to smell the flowers,
There is time to drink the wine,
We have time to sit and think
About the love we left behind.
There is time to be romantic,
There is time to say goodbye,
We have time to hear the music
Of the babies when they sigh.
There is time to feel remorseful,
There is time to heal old wounds,
We have time to learn the lessons
From the wars that brought us gloom.
There is time to feel excitement,
There is time to trust a friend,
We have time to love each other
In this world that we must tend.
There is time to watch the sunset,
There is time to sit and stare,
We have time to whisper softly
To the ones we find most fair.
There is time to see the heavens,
There is time to praise the Lord,
We have time to take slow walks
Across the fields that we adore.
Please let this be a lesson learned
Treasure each and every trice,
For time holds no one to itself
It’s lost at a terrible price……

Push Me
Album: No Excuses
Ever since the world's been turning
It turned away from me
I've been pushed across the planet
To find my destiny
I've been running away from something
Thats deep inside myself
I've been running till that someday
When I reached the border's edge
Refrain:
Push me I'm living on the edge
Push me I'm sick of living like that
Push me living on the edge
The weak play the strong out of fear of what's wrong yeah
Push me I'm living on the edge
Push me I'm sick of living like that
Push me living on the edge
Im sick to death and learned the lesson
I'm still running yet I don't got
Ground beneath my feet - something is tracking me something is wrecking me
I'm still running and I don't have
Time to fall into deep
Refrain:
Push me I'm living on the edge
Push me I'm sick of living like this
Push me living on the edge
Im sick to death and learned the lesson
Push me I'm living on the edge
Push me I'm sick of living like that
Push me living on the edge
Im sick to death and learned the lesson
Push me I'm living on the edge
Push me I'm sick of living like this
Push me living on the edge
The weak play the strong out of fear of what's wrong yeah
Push me I'm living on the edge
Push me I'm sick of living like that
Push me living on the edge
Im sick to death and learned the lesson

Forgiving Myself
In my youth...
My casting shadow
Appeared to glide
Against all it reflected.
There were few rests between strides.
And I did not concern myself,
With the limitations of time and uncertainties.
I've aged to witness my slowing pace...
With an acceptance,
A mind of a child does not forgive!
I've learned to respect the 'do's and 'don't's
Of life!
That did not come easy!
Nor did my patience come without making mistakes.
Or taking risks!
And forgiving myself has been the best lesson I've learned!
Afterall...
These steps I take today,
Are watched much more carefully with a purpose...
Each time they are taken!
