Blind Them With Your Reach For The Stars
Why cling onto what people think?
Is that going to change?
Are you...
Going through any misgivings?
If you are...
Let that be a natural process.
People are going to voice their opinion.
And some do not care how that is done.
Or if what is done,
Hurts anyone.
They just want the taste of that venom,
Dripping from their lips.
Every second, minute and hour...
A ticking clock tocks.
Why try to stop what is a fixture,
Of one's routined appetite?
As long as you give 'power'
To that which decides, select and contemplates,
Your choices made in your life...
What is the point of saying whose life it is,
Lived?
You definitely are not the one living it.
And if you are...
Why cling onto what people think?
When in the environment of those who are thoughtless...
You do not have to pretend to do the same..
And not one of them are pretending to maintain a sanity.
Why stoop to that level?
When you can blind them with your reach for the stars!

Do You?
When life gets hard?
Do you give up?
When people doubt you?
Do you prove them wrong?
When people say things?
Do you let it get to you?
When you don't want to be here?
Do you pretend you somewhere else?
When nobody seem to care?
Do you just wonder why?
When life doesn’t go your way?
Do you try to fix it?
When you don’t know what to do?
Do you do the only thing you know?
When you seem to give up on life?
Do you remember the good things that come out of it?
When people not who they seem?
Does that mean you can’t trust anybody?
When you give up on life,
You are missing the things that are offered.
When life gets hard,
It only makes you a stronger person.
When people doubt you,
Who should care?
When people say things,
That’s there problem.
When nobody seem to care,
You can’t just wonder why.
When life don’t go your way,
There a reason it didn’t.
When you don’t know what to do,
You turn to somebody who does.
When people not who they seem,
Remember there always somebody better.

This Thing Known As Power
This thing known as power is an addictive thing
And those who do have it to it try to cling
Abuse of power we do read of and hear of every day
Not all who have power use it in a good way
Dictators use the power that they have to suppress
And where Dictators rule you won't find happiness
They cling to their power by the medium of fear
Only of crimes against Humanity of their oppressive regimes we do hear
Power used in a good way happiness does create
And those who use their power for the good we ought to celebrate
Benevolent people with great power are becoming more rare
But blessed are those who for others do care
That philanthropic people are not many does seem sad to say
And of abuse of power we do read of and hear of every day.

The Spreaders Of Negativity
The spreaders of negativity now as ever are not rare
And that the World is ruled by negative people we are only too aware
With wars waging in some Countries and poor people to be found everywhere
And so much financial hardship and unhappiness in the bigger World out there,
The World is ruled by negative people and their weapon for to cling to power is fear
And 'tis only negative stuff from them we ever do hear
For to cling to power they create fear and division of their promotion of us against they
We'd be better off without their type as leaders that's how I feel anyway
We will never know of peace in the World as long as negative people hold the power
In a garden that is ruled by weeds you won't find any flower
As long as negative people are in positions of power peace we will never know
With them as our leaders mistrust between us and those different to us grow
The spreaders of negativity with us do have their way
They only cause division would that seem fair to say?

Heidelberg recollections
Too many memories cling
to the places where you life and stay
from being small and in thoughts you pass
the pain and think about the joy,
so as if good things can make up for that which hurts.
Poems was in my dad’s heart, so as if Afrikaans
is a living thing,
from being small I was aware
of his voice letting words cling to me,
even at the mourning,
where without really realizing
what the meaning of it is
I stood at his grave in the red-brown sand
and saw crying people passing
and for me it was as if he just went away,
but his big black car
with the fins was still there and daily
mother used it to drive to work
and I was really scared
that at a time she would also take to the road
and when she in the mornings was leaving
I was wondering if I would see her again?
The black jacket and hat
with which dad made us scared
when we did not want to eat
or did not want to learn
what he was teaching us
still was hanging behind the door
and time and again I looked
at these objects
expecting them
to on a day come to life again
with dad disguising him self in them
like when I was naughty,
when he came in through the back door.

We Give Them Our Power
From them only negative stuff we do hear
They tell us who to trust and tell us who to fear
We want to believe the lies to us they tell
They promise Utopia and give us Earthly Hell.
We want to believe every word that they say
And for to cling to power they create us and they
We help to create our own reality
The blind in the light of day never do see.
Their pre election promises they never do keep
We give them our power and we follow like sheep
They tell us who to fear and them we believe
And they laugh behind our backs and us they deceive.
Through false patriotism to power they do cling
And the praises of war heroes they gladly do sing
They cling on to power and they cheat and they lie
Whilst in the wars they created the innocents die.

Loss, Strain Butterflies
He got bad when she got mad
He lowered it one more time and she got even
No one heard a single word
But as the clock ticked from next door I could hear her breathing
I said good morning mr. sun, now I would like you to meet my friend mr. bomb
(he has a house made out of butterflies)
Well I cant sleep sometimes but Ive been told
Its a lonely condition called growing old.
Let me stumble sometimes...
Im looking for someone to cling to, yeah...
So what you think about that?
This time, well it all comes down
To loss and strain and butterflies,
And then it comes right down to me.
Hello, have you been alright?
Did you find a piece of something
Wrapped around the light side of your life
To make you feel better?
Did you get out with your sanity?
Did you save a little something for the people in need?
Did you know with the rain in your pockets, you can change the weather?
Im looking for something to cling to, yeah
Girl, what you think about that?
Well this time, yeah it all comes down
To loss and strain and butterflies
Then it comes right down to me.
Well this time, this time, yeah it all comes down
To loss and strain and butterflies.
Hey yeah yeah, come on down to me...
Is this just the total for the wages of our sins?
Have you made yourself a victim in a game that you cant win?
And are we caving in?
Does it all begin with loss and strain and butterflies?
Does it come right down to me, anymore?
Yeah this time, maybe, does it all come down
To loss and strain and butterflies?
Hey yeah yeah, well...
Come on down to me.

Are We Growing Wise
Of National security we so often hear
Just one more example of power held through fear
We may be growing older but are we growing wise
We trust the power hungry and swallow their lies?
We only believe what we want to believe
And for to cling to power us they gladly deceive
For their love of power they create us and they
Why must we believe what these liars to us say?
About people we don't know from a bar of soap
When we vote people like them to power for peace can we dare to hope?
'Tis time we voted out the war men and give those for peace a go
'Tis from concilitary words not war words peace can only grow.
For to cling to their power only fear they create
And they tell us who to trust and they tell us who to hate
And for our choice of leaders on Election Day
In wars caused by hatred we all have to pay.

Living For You
There was a time when I believed in anything but you. I closed my eyes and let you in, ready to let my life begin. It just hit me, couldnt have known it. Your voice calling out I know it.
Chorus:
I want to see your face. I want to speak your name. I want to tell the whole world how my life has changed. I want to lift my voice ever to sing your praise. As long as Im alive, I know that Im living for you.
Youre here I stand before but now I want to give you everything. No matter what may come my way. You give me a smile they cant take away. Holding on to all you put me through, through the strength that Ill always cling to.
Chorus
Some one question what is right, in my heart I cant deny. Once I was blind but now I see, you have a soul and I am yours for eternity .
O Lord I want to see your face, I always want to sing your praise. I want to be the first to say Im living, Im living for only you.
Chorus (4x)

I see something wrong
Some people care about,
you.
Some people don't care
Would people listen to,
our lies?
Why are people abused
I see something wrong
There are pretty people
There ugly people
People play
People talk
I'm tired of people messing,
With me.
I guess people hate the truth
Some people are bad
Some people care
Others don't
Why do people cry?
This is life
I don't understand
Some people like to talk
Some people like to walk
Why people argue over nothing?
People act crazy
Why are people always cheating?
People that are lost
I admire people that have respect,
for others.
We are the people of the earth
What really goin on?
I really don't know

Waiting For Hours
Not a clock heard ticking with a tock,
Is doing it slower at one's advantage...
To block the stopping of procrastination.
However...
Nothing prevents a hand to reach out,
For a muffin to stuff a mouth.
OR a burger with a side order of greasy fries,
To find its way to satisfy taste buds.
And people can be seen waiting for hours,
Patiently...
To get their hotdog topped with sauerkraut.
Not a clock heard ticking with a tock,
Is doing it slower at one's advantage...
To block the stopping of procrastination.
And yet...
People give more time in the doing of it,
But will stand in line for days without a single complaint...
To pay to entertain themselves with an array of nonsense.

Never change yourself
I dread how people change
They want to become something
their not
It's all because of what they say
I wish that people never changed
The people that make life worth living,
change themself
It's like people try to be like everyone
else
But I'm never going to change, I'm
always going to be the same
Maybe I'm not intellignant nor
am I foolish
I'm one of the bright ones
Which not everyone notices
or cares to look at
But sometimes it's hard to
bare everyday, with everyone
the same
Everyone around me acts
the same
I believe people should maintain
the way they are
Each day I can't help but to notice
that they'll never going to change
In a way, I'm not the same
But I'm sincere, because I'm actually
real
Different makes things stand out
When everything is in black and white,
you'll be in color
When things seem dull, you'll going to
stand out
All though it's the same, I'm never
going to change
If you even have a brain,
I suggest you'd do the same
By a 13 almost 14 year old girl. Don't judge me by my age but my skill and passion for talent for writing.

Life Mean To Me Is
Life mean to me is
Full of surprised that is good or bad surprised
It can be tough or easy
Choices it should be what you think
It should be what you want not anyone else
I don't listen or care
I know you will make right one
We all have time when we mistake that
We wish we haven't and take back, but
You can't because it happen when you make adecision unless
You able to fix it
Life mean to me is
Going complaining, but I can overcome it
Everything be ok
I'm losing everyone that I care and love
I feel they give up on me
I be alright again like now
I feel horrible at time
It opens my eyes and makes me think
I need to stop complaining about problems that is gone over and over
I need stop acting like I'm now
I don't care what people think of me
I have done it bad so I'm changing my way
I'm going be ok
Every day is not getting easy
I'm not going let it stop me
I am letting it turn out this way all because of you
I lost most important thing and is you
You are one who turn my life upside down
I was fool for falling over you in first place
I take it on people and I didn't mean too
I know it now than late is good
I'm starting over
It's going to take time
This summer I learned a lot about life and people
I got part of me need to grow up
Right now it in my hand
Time to reach for goal
What life means to me is
Start doing it right
I need to improve myself
I don't want to be like this anymore
Is hard enough already
Don't be hard on yourself
Enjoy life while you have chance
Take a break and have fun
You can't undo what happen already
No matter how much you wish for it
You need to start fresh and over again
Life mean to me is

To You, Africa
You are a beautiful terra firma
With beautiful people
Rich in history
Rich in prosperity
You are a land of life hard lived
Through droughts and famines
Your people had a lot to give
Your villages were of close community
Unlike that of civilization
You were the best example
that the world could have seen
Then the toubob began to arrive
And your people were taken
With no regard for your childrens lives
I know you are still shaken
Taken from the land they loved
Shoving their beloved Earth into their mouth
For one last taste of you, Africa
Your people have been stolen
Your people have been killed
Your generations have been lost
Your families have been torn apart
Your people have been enslaved
Your women have been raped
Your people have long suffered
Your people have lived through misery
Stolen for what purpose
Other than to be a serf
Some say it could have been worse
But we know it was the worst
Africa, your people are great
Your people are strong
Your people survived through it all
Your people still sung their songs
After 1865 they were freed
Yet still they were enslaved it seemed
Today there are still places that ban your people
Brought here unwillingly, to this 'land of the free'
Your people are who can change this nation
Your people are here for that reason
All hope is not lost
We will succeed regardless of the cost
This is to you, Africa

Everything belongs to people
Everything belongs to people
Give back to the people
Give back their land their forest
Their hills mountains rivers
Give back to the people
Earth mines irons etc etc
Everything belongs to the people
Give the people the power
In democracy everything belongs
To people and democracy is
Of the people by the people and
For the people and people are
At the centre of power progress
Prosperity public funds
People are there just to forgive
And forget and do not take
The advantage of their ignorance
made the people know everything
Everything belongs to people
People are the people in this system
And the system depends on you only
You can make it coal
And people are there to group.

Candle In The Wind
Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on a treadmill
And they made you change your name
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
The candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Marilyn was found in the nude
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
Well I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
The candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
Goodbye Norma Jean
From the young man in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something as more than sexual
More than just Marilyn Monroe
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
Well I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
The candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Goodbye Norma Jean
Goodbye Norma Jean
Goodbye
Goodbye Norma Jean

A Asome Poem About PEOPLE
Some people
Care about you, some people
Don’t care,
Make fun of you and walk away,
Some people,
Run past, some people
Hand you presents,
Give you a pat on the back,
Some people
You love, some people
You don’t know
Some people, some people,
You do,
Some people
You notice, some people
Eat cauliflower, some people
Are teenagers,
Some people walk to restaurants,
Sit down at the counter,
Eat there food, through it at
People,
Some people never notice you,
Some people always look, some people
Want to take you away, some people
Will never exist
Some people are other people; some people are you, some people
Die ever second,
Some people are you

People Power. A rant.
The people’s voice so long suppressed.
Has now been forcibly expressed
Egyptians want democracy.
The world is waiting now to see
if their demands meet with success.
The winds of change are blowing free.
So tyrants sleep uneasily
They fear to hear the people’s voice
but really they have little choice.
If people choose democracy.
They can no longer rule by force.
Its time to take a different course.
The people have the power to
discard the old bring in the new.
By just resisting passively.
I have no doubt that some will die
As the dictators vainly try.
To cling to power at any cost
a battle that’s already lost.
The people will sweep them away.
The western world must wait and
see what happens next uneasily.
We have no right to interfere
although we have good cause to fear.
The power games that people play.
The world is changing rapidly.
Because of new technology.
Information is exchanged,
the internet has rearranged.
What people are allowed to say.
They have the opportunity
to state their views quite openly
For and against the government.
Although it seems that discontent
is the major force in play..
The peoples will is paramount
They will demand a close account.
From those they give authority
to take control and over see.
the changes that they need today..
Perhaps we too need to review.
A process which is over due
Our concept of democracy
at least our foreign policy..
We do not have the right to say.
What other countries ought to do
Because they are entitled to.
Do whatever they think best
to pacify the deep unrest.
the people have the final say.
If they decide to give assent
to a form of government.
Which may not be democracy
but suits the vast majority.
We have no reason for dissent.
We may quite well learn something new
That makes us take a different view.
Of the systems now in place.
By which we choose our government.
Which do not work as they were meant..
The powers that be may disagree.
Because they do not want to see.
The fault and flaws that now exist.
Although they preach democracy
They breach the rules in secrecy.
Although they may control the press
and the media more or less.
They can’t control the internet.
If they are wise they’ll recognise
That people can see through their lies.
