As If You Were A Window With Dust And Smudges On It

You perceive everything you do,
As a prerequisite of acceptance by others.
Don't you?
No matter what it is,
You edit it as approved.
Even lieing to yourself,
You believe should be forgven.
And your dishonesty charaded,
Others should receive without debate or hesitation.

Well,
I have been healed from any wounds.
Deliberately afflicting my mental stability.
And I don't allow either those conscious,
Or those protecting their unconsciousness.
The opportunity to reflect the disrespect,
They have for themselves up in my face.
I know my self worth and earned value obtained.

You?
Perceive everything you do,
As a prerequisite of acceptance by others.
Me?
I live in this neighborhood.
But I am not of it.
And that is a choice.
Not a sacrifice.

And I am certainly not going to define,
How I wish to be treated.
By those who wouldn't have a clue,
Of what a comprehending of respect means.
Your insecurities wont open that gate.

And I don't want to have your ego believe me to be angry.
Or bitter.
OR any of those things you'd like to repeat to your friends.

I just want to make this clear to you face to face.
On a one on one.
The backstabbing you've done to me.
I've been aware of it.
But the pushing of my buttons,
To allow a squeezing more of a forgiveness from me to you done.
Is no longer here for you to do as in days gone to forget.
I see through you,
As if you were a window with dust and smudges on it.

Peer Pressure, Identity, and Acceptance

Just not fitting in
Where's those people?
Is there anyone like me?
Am I supposed to be like them?
Just not fitting in

I want acceptance they don't want me
They want me to compromise
This isn't who I am
Who am I anyways?
It's only temporary.... right?
I can't lose myself cause I'm....well I'm me

I need acceptance they're like a distant dream
They're staring right through me
They're speaking to me out of sympathy
They see through my act
They see.... no they couldn't
Who are they anyways?
I guess I'll call them..... well, they're friends
They're all I got

I crave acceptance
The pangs of loneliness
No it's not that
Not quite
As much as I crave acceptance
I think deep down
I don't want to have to change
I think deep down
If I could speculate about myself
Deep down I want to be me
But who.... who am I? I can't remember or maybe....
Maybe there's nothing to remember

Just fitting in
Has changed me
Where can I get real acceptance
Would anyone just care about me even knowing that I was me?
I can't even love me, I don't want to feed me, I don't want to help me
Why would they?
Is there anyone who'd just want me, even if they knew it was me?

Acceptance
It's not just a commodity, it's a necessity
So I found acceptance
It took my life but I'd gladly give it up again
It's better that I no longer live
Well in the my old definition of life
This.... this is life
It's acceptance

I found acceptance with the one I deserved it from the least
Someone I never did anything for
One of my greatest enemies
That's why this acceptance
This forgiveness
This love
Changed me
From the inside
Out

I think I found part of me, I must show my friends
Or that's what I thought
Because the cruel reality of the world is that it
Denies us that one thing that we need to survive that one thing we crave
Acceptance
When I told them He loved me
I lost what little friends I did have
But I have more than I've had
Because I have

Acceptance

IF' Given The Opportunity

If one is in possession of anything,
One has earned and deserves...
Why would others expect,
That this person will beg from them...
To be welcomed with acceptance?
And just for kicks do a tap dance routine.
'IF' given the opportunity to entertain,
Those sitting on neighborhood stoops...
In discussion about what goes on across the street.
While standing on corners are others protecting their turf,
As if to supply security for vacant lots filled with trash.

If one is in possession of anything,
One has earned and deserves...
Why would others expect,
That this person will beg from them...
To be welcomed with acceptance?
And just for kicks do a tap dance routine.
'IF' given the opportunity to entertain them,
Until they give approval of one's ability...
To tap and smile at the same time.
Just to prove one's affiliation and representation.

It Is Not

Conscious of structure.
Conscious of order, law and discipline.
Conscious of those to whom is given respect.
Conscious of tradition and ideals...
And the effect this has on one's mindset.

Conscious of a faith that goes much deeper,
Than the faking of an acceptance of rituals.

Conscious of life,
And the limits of it lived.
Conscious are those,
Who are aware that this life...
Is much more than it is perceived,
It is!
Since it is not what we have been led to believe.
And a consciousness of those conscious of this,
Is what has been received.

To Infest and Manifest

Why do they glare?
Those who stop to stare...
With a bringing of their gloom,
To pollute environments everywhere.

Do they perceive themselves to be,
Rulers Of Acceptance.
Judges Of Appearances.
Police to guard values and standards...
Molding with age and on the decrease.

Why do they restrict to insist,
Those of ethnic differences...
Should from themselves be distanced quick.
With minds influenced by ignorance,
To infest and manifest.

And they feast upon with feeding misery.
Miseries denying hiding,
Insecurities.

Do they perceive themselves to be,
Rulers Of Acceptance.
Or police to guard what's valued...
Hypocritically!

And they feast upon with feeding misery.
Miseries denying hiding,
Insecurities.
To infest and manifest.

And they feast upon with feeding misery.
Miseries denying hiding,
Insecurities.
To infest and manifest.

And they feast upon with feeding misery.
To infest.
And manifest.

And they feast upon with feeding misery.
To infest.
And manifest.

Where Have I Been?

'Where have you been? '

Where have I been?
Giving myself the opportunity to grow.
Reflecting.
Dissecting.
And self examining.
With the doing of those things,
That will bring an understanding.

Knowledge obtained,
Needs the support from others...
For more of it to be gained.
And I embrace those,
Who have come face to face with change.
Those who comprehend,
Nothing accepted today will remain the same.

Where have I been?
Giving myself the opportunity to grow.
And 'that' which isn't doing it...
I have to let it go!
Without debate or loss of patience.

I am reaching for a seeking of clarity.
I've sought Sun.
I am not one comfortable in hiding...
When those cloudy days come,
To delight in disguise.
My vision needs to be freed of fog or smog.

Where have I been?
Giving myself the opportunity to grow.
And preparing for all kinds of weather.

Insinuations

There are many sides to determination.
And many are not too obviously displayed.
Like the ones who are determined by others,
Not to be impressive by appearances alone.

Those determining people like this,
Have no influence...
Are generally mistakened on the basis of their analogies.
Perhaps it is a college degree...
Or the schools such degrees were by some people received.

And there are those who are just determined to succeed.
On their own merit.
With a turning down of requests of assistance...
By those they care not to name drop.

Some people like to be in the company,
Of those they perceive are 'real.
No matter what they've got.
Or titles they may wear.
Eye or skin color or texture of hair.

People like these are not living their lives,
Based upon limitation or those kinds of insecurities.
With the acceptance and the acknowledgement...
A sexual performance got us all here!
With few, if any, exceptions open to debate!

'PLEASE!
Your insinuations are distasteful! '

Nope!
That's not one of the exceptions.

Chosen To Judge And Define

If I had not been prepared early in life,
To appreciate and explore my differentness...
And develop an acceptance for it,
To like and observe everything unique...
Only God can create to make,
I'd be seeking everyday to find an excuse...
Like others who perceive themselves,
Chosen to judge and define.

If someone has come,
Willing to apply an undeniable love.
One that another can identify as true.
Why should the affect felt from it,
Be determine as an inspected prerequisite...
One let sits to decide if it fits.

Why can't the origin of love be accepted?
With the intentions of it meant that were sent.
As an unconditional love that is present.
Coming as it does,
Without complications of a document...
Written in fine confusing print.

Preferences listed,
Often change to forget.

P.o.v.

From my 'point-of-view',
We all have the ability to reminisce.
We all have the gift to pick and choose,
From which selected memory to visit.
There is a choice involved...
That decreases the likelihood,
To stir up argument or debate.

Wouldn't it be easier,
When and if in conversation...
Someone announced,
'From my 'p.o.v.'...
This is how I perceive things to be.'
Opening the door to receive comprehension.
Without trying to convince anyone...
A 'point-of-view' expressed,
Is the best one anyone can get.

And at these prices,
Who can afford therapy?
Just say what it is...
To get it out in the open.
Allowing other topics to be discussed.
Why keep the fussing done,
Over spilled milk!

Proud To Exist To Witness Possibilities

I am glad I represent a generation aging.
With an acceptance to reminisce and reflect,
Upon the times I have been blessed to remember.
I am glad to be able to think with a thought process,
That connects with a wish to daily adventure.
And welcome a maturity I have earned.
With all that being conscious of it has to offer.

Although I will admit,
A loneliness when so many are dismissing...
There are phases of life that should be natural.
And understood with observations undenied.
And moving forward instead of backwards.
Or remaining down to earth unchanged.
As many aging with their delusions intact,
Would like to claim with a sameness of sanity.

But isn't that what stagnation is?
A stubbornness that is fixed in place.
With ways that begin to collect ignored dust.
And being stagnant and stale, unchanged...
Is something I don't consider fresh or impressive.
Or sparkles as if proud to exist to witness possibilities.
Not if one is to grow and experience what life is.
Or come to realize this adventure isn't here to last forever.

I am glad I represent a generation aging,
With an acceptance.
I am glad to be able to think with a thought process,
That connects with a wish to daily adventure.
And welcome a maturity I have earned.
With all that being conscious of it has to offer,
As a life I have learned to live...
To appreciate, explore and not take for granted.

Acceptance Heals

Acceptance heals!
A willingness to just let go...
To be a part of a natural process,
Reveals an ability to face the truth...
For what it is and means.
Without the need,
Of foolish protective measures.

Some wish to stop to grow.
To direct with a decision...
To have things go their way.
Blocking the experience of a natural adventure.
As if the ticking of a clock,
Depends on a decision made.
Since time itself...
Is a creation of man.

And where man stands...
Has nothing to do,
With the evolution of nature.
And nature awaits...
Such dictates!

Acceptance heals!
A willingness to just let go...
To be a part of a natural process,
Reveals an ability to face the truth...
For what it is and means.
Without the need,
Of foolish protective measures.

And those foolish protective measures,
Keeps a wounded mind...
With no peace to find.

Acceptance heals.
Like one's faith,
Eliminates...
A stunted life that wastes away,
In anticipation to have a stubbornness validated.

Give Me The Taste,

give me the taste,
give me the taste,
the joy of being with you,
you made me see beauty of you,
Iam not under attack anymore,
I loved that face,
I can see that great taste,
give me love,

more love than these,
alive and living,
we will survive,
we will live and never die,
I can watch them seeing me,
This is the face of a King,
Within me is the living man,
Man that is living,
My human will is not to attack,
But to love the human ability,
Make me perceive the joy of living,
Do not make me be under attack,
Make me see the joy of us loving one another,
By human conscience,
It is my ability to see the fear dyeing,
We are all the lovers of the higher being,
Perceive the joy of living,
That by the grace we are never willing to die,
Time is moving so fast,
All our abilities is to love one another,
All our abilities is to perceive the glorious throne.

Grateful To Them For This

I've earned the right to make my own decisions.
And to decide what I like and dislike.
I 'try' not to give unsolicited opinions.
And the passing of judgement,
I rarely do.
What does my critique expressed,
Satisfy or improve?

For many years,
I've known what had created my past headaches.
And when I recognize them coming,
I head the other way.
To save them a sniff or a lifting of their nose.
Where I come from...
There are many in number of those with upturned noses.

It took me a long time to understand,
Not to waste my time seeking acceptance.
Because people who perceive someone seeks,
Their acceptance...
It gives them validation to believe themselves,
Better than anyone else.
And 'if' they have created ways to isolate themselves...
To others they have given to them a gift!
And I am grateful to them for this.

'I like very much,
That effort you made.
Now...
Can you prove you can stay out of my way?
And leave,
Not take...
Those resources that are mine.'

Because...

Because...
The sense you make,
It goes a little bit deeper.
Because...
You see defects,
And you are claimed tom peeper.
Because...
You do speak up,
And you know you can succeed.
Because...
Your mind's at ease.
You seem to reek of quality.

Some wont believe,
There are not too many people,
That are strong like that.
Some can't conceive,
There are not too many people,
With stress packed on their backs.
Some can't perceive,
There are not too many people,
Who will tell you where it's at.

Because...
The sense you make,
It goes a bit deeper.
Because...
You see defects,
And you are claimed a peeper.
Because...
You speak up,
And you know you can succeed.
Because...
Your mind is at ease.
You're not the one to beg on knees!

People might say some things...
Just to pick and irritate.
And then somebody comes along,
Who makes them player haters...
By the comments said and made.

Because...
The sense you make,
It goes a bit deeper.
Because...
You see defects,
And you are claimed a peeper.
Because...
You speak up,
And you know you can succeed.
Because...
Your mind's at ease.
You're not the one to beg on knees.
You're not the one to please another,
With lies to feed.

Because...
You're not the one to beg on your knees.
You're not the one to please another,
With lies to feed.

Because...
You're not the one to please another,
With lies to feed.
That's why they believe...
What you say they can leave.

Because...
What you say is not to believe.
That's why you're treated less than equal,
By your physicality.

That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some perceive.
Because...
That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some believe.
But deep inside of them your thoughts live and breathe.

But deep inside of them your thoughts live and breathe.
That's why you're treated less than equal,
As some perceive.

That's why you're treated less than equal,

We Need Not Fight

We don't need to fight.
To make a wrong thing right.
We don't have to scream,
To demean.
For childish reasons.

Why are we so mean to each other?

And...
We don't need to debate,
Or escalate a hatred.
We should find what it takes,
To stop our hearts from aching.
Breaking into pieces.
Without a forgiveness released.

We need to pack more of that.
We need to chill and relax...
As a matter of fact!

We need not scratch like two cats.
Or run and hide like we are criminal rats.
We need to come face to face...
Without desires to attack.

Forgiveness needs to come back.
We need to pack more of that.
We need to chill and relax,
As a matter of fact.

We need not fight.
We need not fight.
We need not fight.

Forgiveness needs to come back.
We need not scratch like two cats.
Or run and hide like we are criminal rats.
We need to come face to face...
Without desires to attack.

We need not fight.
We need not fight.
We need not fight.

The Preacher Wont Have To Lie

(steve dean/billy montana)
I used to believe what money could bring
Was worth more than anything else
But all that changed when I had a dream
And I got a good look at myself
I stood face to face with the ghost of my past
And the spirit what was to come
And they made it clear that one day Id have to
Answer for what I had done
And I saw what Id become
The choices you make
The chances you take
Theyll follow you all of your life
Im just tryin to live so when I die
The preacher wont have to lie
I aint no prophet and I aint no saint
And I aint made no great sacrifice
I just keep tryin to carry my weight
I keep trying to do what is right
And its hard to do right sometimes
The choices you make
The chances you take
Theyll follow you all of your life
Im just tryin to live so when I die
The preacher wont have to lie
The choices you make
The chances you take
Theyll follow you all of your life
Im just tryin to live so when I die
The preacher wont have to lie
Oh, the preacher wont have to lie

With Our Love

It's just a look, and it makes the boys quiver.
Yes, it's just the look, and now they remember.
Had they forgotten ... what this all means?
I think they want to forget,
And they hope that this time.
(chorus)
I won't look, i've got other things to do now.
I forgot what it was, i've got to get to work now.
(and they) set an example for us (i see it!).
It can happen to me too.
(and it) didn't make any difference to us (but i)
Forgot the trouble, that's the trouble.
Forgot the trouble, that's the trouble.
Forgot the trouble, that's the trouble.
Forgot the trouble, that's the trouble.
With our love,
With our love,
With our love
They hear the words, such as "you're really special"
(and they) can't face the feeling.
(and they) can't really tell
I look out the window,
(and i) i call that education.
(and i) see all my friends standing out there
(and i) i call that education (sophistication)
(repeat chorus)
Had the forgotten...what this all means?
Things come and go (and i see 'em)
And i wont be neglected (not this time!)

Bewildered By The Process of Progress

I will perceive a dangling done,
As a preview of a coming lesson.

And comprehension for this session,
Is a prerequisite.
Pretentions and anything less than common sense...
Will not reveal the purpose,
As to why something appearing out of reach...
Attracts most and gets immediate attention.

I will perceive a dangling done,
As a preview of a coming lesson.

And I will learn what that lesson is,
Without concern of the consequences.

Something will be exchange to my benefit.
Whether I limp in pain or walk away entertained...
I am going to gain an experience.
And a life lived can not be done without them!

You know...
Those experiences,
We more often get as we grow...
To eventually sit us down acknowledging,
Just how blessed we are!
And in appreciation of what has been accomplished,
As some reminisce bewildered by the process of progress.

Travesty of Brilliance

A travesty that shadows brilliance,
Contorts the showing of it...
In atmospheres where foolishness,
Seems worshipped and condoned.

Those who have a brilliance,
Are made to feel freaks.
Made to feel unusual whatever they do...
And often how they speak.
With a clarity understood!
That is not butchered on the streets.
Are pointed out as smart and/or 'lucky'.
And should move away to succeed.
Since where they live and feel a comfort...
Only disrespect they can expect to receive.

A travesty that shadows brilliance,
Leaves many disadvantaged...
With an unconscious acceptance,
Of a stifling ignorance.
Smothering them and in their decadence.
And...
In many communities where unity is professed...
A preferred association with ignorance,
Many profess as their success.
With a known evidence of it achieved.

To be brilliant and exposed,
Threatens those with insecurities.
Expecially those who are clueless,
With no connection to identity or to what that means.

To achieve mediocrity is a stretch for many!
And for more it is out of reach.
And those who are brilliant in the own communities...
Are treated as if they have leprosy.
OR something that disfigures them to be ostracized,
Shunned and banned.
Ridiculed by minds diseased.

And this travesty of brilliance,
Sweeps across a degraded land!
Showing just what influences.
And how corrupted insecurities...
Can destroy and ruin by command.

Face To Face

We never talk to one another
We just disagree
Im the one who runs for cover
And you turn your back on me
They say nothings gonna last forever
But some things are worth fighting for
Yeah, well love could bring us back together
But love dont come round here no more
The words unspoken in the night
Locked away in my heart
And Im feeling out of place
But if love is the key
Let it open the door
So well be standing -- face to face
You never want to see me face to face
Think it over
Face to face
If only it could be just face to face
Baby you and me
Face to face
I may be better off without it
I cant go on this way
Time has come to talk about it
This is our judgement day
You know we swore it would last forever
Always felt so sure it would
But its looking like now or never
Time to turn a bad thing into good
The words that echo in the night
Theyre fading away
And theyre gone without a trace
Now its up to you and me
Lets open the door
And meet each other -- face to face
Its time we saw each other face to face
To talk it over
Face to face
You know its gotta be just face to face
Baby you and me
Face to face
We gotta see each other -- face to face
And talk about it
Face to face
Hope it aint too late to meet face to face
Just you and me
(solo)
Face to face
Its time we saw each other face to face
To talk it over
Face to face
You know its gotta be just face to face
Baby you and me
Face to face
We gotta see each other
Face to face
And talk about it
Face to face
I hope it aint too late to meet
Face to face
Dont turn your back on me
Face to face
Its time we saw each other
Face to face
To talk it over
