Artificial Flavoring

Well...
It has come down to this.
We would like your opinion.
And...
What it is you think.
We'd like for you to be candid with us.

'I'll do the best I can.
What do I think?
About what? '

About priorities.
And what others seem to have placed,
At the top of their lists.

'That's very difficult for me to respond.
You see...
I am accustomed to quality.
And not the artificial flavoring of anything,
Rated to give it popularity.
It is as it appears.
And what appears represents,
Where current mindsets feel...
They can accept as most comfortable.'

So you are not going to respond to our inquiry,
Legitimately?

'How can I do that responsibly?
When what has been selected,
To represent fine wine...
Clearly doesn't merit the taste,
Of a homemade beer.'

You 'sound' as if there are some sour grapes,
You wish to exchange...
To replace personal feelings.

'How is that going to make that beer taste,
Any better? '

Easy Made Cake

Easy made cake...
Doesn't taste,
Homemade.

An easy made cake...
Doesn't taste,
Homemade.
Or does it age...
Like a fine wine.
Made from grapes,
Picked and saved...
Off of a selected vine.

Easy made cake...
Doesn't taste,
Homemade.
Or have a flavor staying,
In one's mind.

Chug-a-lug

Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Gary likes a girls tight black pants
Larry knows he doesnt stand a chance
Carl says hurry up and order it quick
Dave gets out to chase that chick
Dennis wonders whats under the hood
A big chrome tach and it sounds real good
I go down to the root beer stand
And drink up all that I can
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Cold beer, root beer
Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Brians still glued to the radio
Louies lookin out the rear window
Guys got around to orderin fries
But root beers my best buy
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Cold beer, root beer
Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Cold beer, root beer
Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Root beer, need another mug now
Root beer, chug-a-lug-a-lug now
Root beer, need another mug now
Root beer, chug-a-lug-a-lug now
Root beer, need another mug now
Root beer, chug-a-lug-a-lug now

Wine can only be drunk once

Fine wine, unlike fine poetry.
Must be given time to mature,
selected for its quality.
You must be absolutely sure.
To store it very carefully
undisturbed perhaps for years.
I much prefer fine poetry
which rings like music in my ears.
Dependent on your taste of course.
My ears drink in well spoken verse.
My taste in wine is rather coarse
but it is easy on my purse.
I read fine poetry for free
from books stored in my library.

A Sad Melody From An Old Vineyard!

There are no standards of taste in wine, cigars, poetry, prose, etc. Each man's own taste is the standard, and a majority vote cannot decide for him or in any slightest degree affect the supremacy of his own standard.' -Mark Twain,1895

Though the ripen sour grapes sleep in the moonlit night
Yet the Landlady awakes with a solitary song.
Her fiance sleeps in another vineyard beyond the hills
Those grapes are sweet it seems?

Scotch Is A Secret

If drunken is a verb, then death is one too,
For they both induce violence, and if not, radical truth.
If a last wistful breath is what's seen as a plea,
Then please, gentle secrecy; let me fall down to knee.
Whiskey is a worry, and vodka is a vice,
I may once taste sweet blissful beer, but only once or twice.
Preach for the obvious, the sacred; the life;
Hypocrite be an innocent; a daughter a wife.
Let us all hide our secrets, behind the worrisome wine,
Charming be the chardonnay, as we taste flask flat beer fine.
Let the priest sip clandestine champagne,
And let all be right with the world,
Let a liar be justified a fight,
And a mute have the option of word.
If all of this be true; and the alcohol stable a fire;
Then let scotch be kept my secret,
And I, a truthful liar.

Selected Popularity

It relates to one's taste.
A selected popularity,
Along with a marketing that takes place.

Quick fads and that which has potential to last,
Requires a quality that time gives it.
And how it fits in one's environment.

One's perception of what is popular,
May evolve from a custom that has been updated.
And this becomes associated with time,
That eventually places a value to popularize.
And raises the price of the money spent.

A similar analogy can be applied to human beings.

It doesn't matter where an originality has been taken,
To forge or plagiarize with precise manipulation.
What matters is its presentation.
And who is accustomed to being fed,
On a series of reproductive mediocrity delivered.
With attempts to disguise,
A copying done from masters of their crafts.

Granola Homemade

Give me some of those walnuts.
Dried cranberries, brown sugar...
And rolled oats to bunch up.

I'll crush that stuff with raisins...
To make granola to munch!

Add with that papaya bits.
Cashews too with diced pineapple mixed.
And a snack to enjoy with fingers to lick..
Is granola homemade that's great and fit.

Granola homemade is a wonderful taste.
And a snack that'll boost you up.
Replace that soda with some lemonade.
And a snack that'll boost you up!

Give me some of those walnuts.
Dried cranberries, brown sugar...
And rolled oats to bunch.

Granola homemade is a wonderful taste.
a-knock knock
And a snack that'll boost you up.
Replace that soda with some lemonade.

Yet, Undefined But Welcoming

Almost but not quite,
Prepared to leave behind...
All remnants of doubt,
Completely with a clean slate...
For a broadened point of view,
From the hold of familiar darkness.
As shadows one questions but hides behind,
No longer offers an escape.
A developing need seeks to reach,
And stretch with more of life to find.

Almost but not quite,
Convinced that the embrace of light...
Can and will replace those common fears,
One had grown accustomed to taste...
As if craved so available and near.
To examine with a mind beginning to bloom,
To open.
With a wanting of more,
That appears to be free of limitations etched.
Yet, undefined but...welcoming to accept.

Genuine

When one accepts,
Who one is...
All that isn't,
Is made clear.

And that which has an identity,
As distinct as a tree.
Also appears to be genuine.
And recognized for what it is,
Naturally.

No pretentions are given to get from it.
Nor would that be acceptable,
Since a falseness is understood.
And not to be permitted.

And...
It becomes more difficult to respond,
To that which has no reality or vision.
It is as if a game of charades exist.
And one acknowledging this,
Rather not participate.
Or observe the nonsense of it!

'You can not force upon me,
What in my heart does not feel is real.
Or perceive to be.
So...
You are correct.
I do not believe you offer to give me,
One hundred dollars.
To do absolutely nothing! '

I Know You Do Not Feel Anything In Some Of My Lines

i accept my defeat in knowing you
i get the shake of your left hand
as you keep the other
safe and sound in your pocket
i can sense the hesitation
in your tongue that utters
some doublespeaks again

in your 'how do you do? '
I will always respond with 'i am fine'
but deep within this brief
exchange of lines i know you do not
feel anything anymore in the last two
lines that i utter

i hint that what you like most is
'goodbye, i am leaving'
and you do not show any sign
of holding my arms
your right hand is still in your
pocket playing with the coin
that you toss:
it's the tail this time
and i lose

I Often Wonder About This When I Am Solicited

It is difficult to remain objective...
When a solicitation comes.
It is difficult not to feel imposed upon...
When a rating is demanded,
From someone.

Does someone doing what they do,
From a love connection.
Desire to have it rated...
With a close inspection?
I often wonder about this when I am solicited.

It is difficult to remain objective...
When a a solicitation comes.
It is difficult not to feel imposed upon...
When a rating is demanded,
From someone.

And what is the ultimate purpose?
To feed an ego...
Or improve.
What if I should say I dislike what has been done?
What for that 'someone' will my comments prove?

That I don't know what I am talking about?
AND...
I am an eccentric fool?
I've been told that too many times.
That is why I refuse,
To respond to solicitations.

There is an honesty involved.
And I will protect mine too!

Taste Or Life?

They say honey is sweeter than wine;

Many say kiss is sweeter than wine!

Some are fond of sweet taste in all;

Many like hot taste in food we eat ever.

Taste is just a flavour of coffee we take;

Tasteless food nobody likes at first ever;

But food for living life cannot be ignored.

Sugar coated pill makes us take medicine;

Just like that taste makes food delicious!

Taste various from person to person ever;

Hence one man's food is another's poison!

So also taste for poetry, novel and articles

Say about one's mind, heart and soul ever;

More than taste food for living is fine ever!

If Amy Lowell Had Been James Whitcomb Riley

When you came you were like red wine and honey,
And the taste of you burnt my mouth with its sweetness.
Now you are like morning bread--
Smooth and pleasant,
I hardly taste you at all, for I know your savour,
But I am completely nourished.

--AMY LOWELL, in The Chimæra.

When I wuz courtin' Annie, she wuz honey an' red wine,
She made me feel all jumpy, did that ol' sweetheart o' mine;
Wunst w'en I went to Crawfordsville, on one o' them there trips,
I kissed her--an' the burnin' taste wuz sizzlin' on my lips.
An' now I've married Annie, an' I see her all the time,
I do not feel the daily need o' bustin' into rhyme.
An' now the wine-y taste is gone, fer Annie's always there,
An' I take her fer granted now, the same ez sun an' air.
But though the honey taste wuz sweet, an' though the wine wuz strong,
Yet ef I lost the sun an' air, I couldn't git along.

It Is Location, Location, Location

Authenticity is like a fine wine.
It's presence is not appreciated,
Until the taste is rated as Grade A...
By those who appreciate,
The meaning of authenticity!
And have identified what it is over time!

One can be 'chosen' to sit,
Above the clouds and amongst stars.
But it is location, location, location...
That makes where the seating takes place,
More of a value increased not to depreciate.
And that is determined by those who know quality.

Jenny's Husband

He has no taste for alcohol not even a light beer
And she says that he should be named the husband of the year
He changes the baby's nappy and cooks the evening tea
And she feels very happy to have one good as he.

he's never once been on the dole he gives her all his pay
And he's the greatest worker at least that's what she say
The bank account is in her name and Jenny runs the show
And for women's liberation she's struck a mighty blow.

She talks of Billy 'two doors down' his conduct a disgrace
And if she were married to him she would put him in his place
He spends his night down at the pub and comes home after ten
She cannot understand how women tolerate such men.

But if Billy were her husband she would not have her own way
And he'd go to the pub at night and not give her all his pay
And their marriage would not last too long for lack of harmony
But her George is very different as he bends quite easily.

She boast about her husband George he walks the narrow line
And he doesn't have any vices which seems to suit her fine
And alcohol doesn't pass his lips not even a light beer
And she at least has proclaimed him the husband of the year
