A Cat With Nine Lives
A cat with nine lives,
Isn't sitting wondering...
Where to go and who to visit,
On vacation.
However,
Most dudes choose to purr at home.

Two Men and a Maid
Two little dudes from the George-street block,
Up for a brief vacation!
One little girl in a neat print frock,
Maid of the Mulga Station!
Two little dudes with walking-sticks,
Two little heads that the collars fix!
Two little hats at nine-and-six,
Two little dudes on a station.
One little maid with a bashful smile,
Given for a salutation;
Two little dudes of the nan-nan style,
Bent on a captivation.
One little maid with a smile so true,
Curly hair of a nut-brown hue;
Eyes of a liquid violet blue,
One little maid on a station.
“Didn’t she fear her walks to take
Over the grassy clearing?”
“Didn’t she fear some nasty snake
His ugly head a-rearing?”
“Sirs,” she said, with an arching brow,
And a smile that was hardly a smile somehow,
“There are so many jackasses ‘round here now,
That the snakes are disappearing!”

All The Young Dudes (live 2001-06-05)
Written by David Bowie
Billy rapped all night about his suicide
How he kick it in the head when he was twenty-five
Speed jive don't want to stay alive
When you're twenty-five
Wendy's stealing clothes from Marks and Sparks
And Freedy's got spots from ripping off the stars from his face
Funky little boat race
Now television man is crazy saying we're juvenile deliquent wrecks
Oh man I need TV when I got T Rex
I'm a dude dad
All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes
Carry the news
All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes
Carry the news
Now Jimmy looks sweet though he dresses like a queen
But he can kick like a mule it's a real mean team
But we can love we can love
And my brother's back at home with his Beatles and his Stones
We never got it off on that revolution stuff
It was such a drag too many snags
Well I've drunk a lot of wine and I'm feeling fine
Got to race some cat to bed
Is there concrete all around me
Or is it in my head
Yeah
I'm a dude dad
All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes
Carry the news
All the young dudes
Carry the news
Boogaloo dudes

All the young dudes
Carry the news

The Ache
I'm sitting alone and wondering why,
I met you and you became my life.
When you had to scratch yourself away,
Why did you bring those colourful days?
When you had to break them all,
Why did you make those promises fo souls?
When you had to leave me all alone,
Why did you make yourself my home?
I'm sitting alone and wondering why
I met you and you became my life.....
I know you saw those pity tears,
where loosing you was the only fear
rolling down my cheecks, my chin
when I knew nothing of your been.
I woke all night to see you return
And all I got was my hopes burned......
I'm sitting alone and wondering why
I met you and you became my life.......
I remember all that you said
Of our love that would never fade,
I'm still gathering all you broke
'cause I'll never kill my pretty hopes.
To see you walk my aisle again
I still gaze the door with my eyes on flame.....
And all I've left is to wonder why
I met you and you became my life............

Pinkle Purr
Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
A little black nothing of feet and fur;
And by-and-by, when his eyes came through,
He saw his mother, the big Tattoo.
And all that he learned he learned from her.
'I'll ask my mother,' says Pinkle Purr.
Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
A ridiculous kitten with silky fur.
And little black Pinkle grew and grew
Till he got as big as the big Tattoo.
And all that he did he did with her.
'Two friends together,' says Pinkle Purr.
Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
An adventurous cat in a coat of fur.
And whenever he thought of a thing to do,
He didn't much bother about Tattoo,
For he knows it's nothing to do with her,
So 'See you later,' says Pinkle Purr.
Tattoo is the mother of Pinkle Purr,
An enormous leopard with coal-black fur.
A little brown kitten that's nearly new
Is now playing games with its big Tattoo…
And Pink looks lazily down at her:
'Dear little Tat,' says Pinkle Purr.

Wasting Time
I'm wasting time thinking about a girl
And stealing her away from her world
She and I would run away
I think of all the things that I'd say
We'd talk about important things
And I picture it in my dreams
She'd teach me about modern art
And I'd show her it's okay to fart and
Maybe I'd impress her
By being in a band and
Maybe if I act real tough
She'd let me hold her hand and
Maybe I'll win her heart
By writing this song about her
Sometimes I sit at home and
Wonder if she's sitting at home
Thinking of me and wondering if I'm
Sitting at home

The Rest of Our Vacation In LA and San Diego
You know I didn't want to be
The cause for our need for Imodeum D
Since I displayed the symptoms first
I'll tak the blame for finding the curse
I could have brought it with me
Or caught it after we landed
Months planning our vacation
Getting sick seemed underhanded
We didn't take the Tijuana shopping tour
Montezuma found us anyway
Just because Cortez kicked his butt
Is no reason to ruin our day
Even with the unwanted wake-up call
We survived with medication the Saturday mobs
Venice Beach and Hollwood made us glad
We knew we could go home to real jobs
Beverly Hill and La Jolla made us envious
The airline flight from SF made you panic
The Del Coronado made us want to return without Montezuma
For a vacation more romantic
Looking back our vacation was fun
But restful not
Half our time sight-seeing
The rest sitting on the pot

I Want A Vacation
I want a vacation
For saying a word or two to you
See the moon just when
It lands in your eyes.
I want a vacation
To hold your hands for a while
And walk a few steps to anywhere,
To feel you even if for a moment.
I want a vacation
Just to do anything
To let you know I still care
And see a smile cross your face.
I need a vacation
For coming out from within
To be with you just once
And hold onto it forever!

Touching Numbers
I was sitting alone at home
thinking about you
wondering what the heck
you were up to.
Are you sitting there alone
thinking about me…
wondering if I was in
someone else's company?
Have you found someone new
to give your affection…
are you stroking each other's palms
considering a connection?
Are you snuggling up close
and kissing him
the same as you kissed me
on my neck and chin?
Is your breathing deep and heavy,
does your heart pound,
are you truly happy now
that I'm not around?
I really hope you're there
thinking about me,
looking at our photographs
on your phone's memory.
Touching numbers, about to call,
thinking of what to say.
Maybe, should we meet up
in our favourite café?
I suppose I'm just a fool
for thinking like this,
dwelling on a lost love
and past happiness.
I have to face it, you're not
thinking of me at all.
A full day has just about gone…
should I make the call?

An old fashioned horse in a modern racecourse
I choose my destination
But someone interrupts
And they ask where do you go on vacation?
I say sorry my dear, the word 'vacation' has disappeared
since a long time in my notepad.
And this working horse gallops out of the track
So never reach the goal it seems.
Even I do not have a leisure time to replace my wearied horseshoes.
Someone interrupts!

001-Traveling Cat
Pussy cat, pussy cat, why do you sing?
‘Cause I've been to London to visit the King.
Pussy cat, pussy cat, what did you hence?
I frightened a bulldog over the fence.
And to tell the truth, I think I'll go
To Paris to dine on some escargot.
Then to Rome I'll take a trip
To eat some fresh Italian cat nip.
Maybe to Russia to slurp some borsch
Made from beets and the hooves of a Cossack horse.
Then I'll try not to be an American menace
And take a gondola ride on the canals of Venice.
I think next I'll take my vacation
And go and visit that Indian nation.
Those sexy statues can't be beat
When it comes to putting a cat in heat.
But enough of that, before my feet get gluey,
Off to China for some pork chop suey.
But they didn't serve it there, it's an American dish,
So I settled for a plate of Hong Kong fish.
Then a quick stop in old-world Turkey
And on to my home in Albuquerque.
Off to Texas for a big bowl of chilies
Not too hot or I'll get the willies.
Now that I'm back from over the sea,
I'll visit my Tom in old D.C.
It's Easter, I've been a long time gone
So let's roll some eggs on the White House lawn.
That pussy cat sure likes to roam,
But she's happy now that she's at home.

My Mind Is On You
(dave loggins, don schlitz)
We had a fight
A lovers quarrel
Angry words spoken in haste
Deep in the night
It went out of control
And with tears streaming down my face
I slammed the door and I walked out
Swearing that we were through
Now Im sitting in a bar
Thinking Ive gone too far
Wondering what Im gonna do
Thinking about calling you
Chorus:
To my left blue collar
To my right a high dollar man
Across the bar a smooth bartender
Who thinks Im in the palm of his hand
Well they buy me drinks
Light my cigarette
Theyre all wondering which one Im gonna choose
Oh my hands on my glass
My second margarita
And my mind is on you
My mind is on you
Well I ran away
In a moment of weakness
I couldnt hold my own
I should stay
Because being together
Means more than who was right or wrong
And sitting in a room full of lonely faces
Youre the only one I see
If you only knew
I was thinking of you
Would you come and rescue me
Maybe I should call and see
Repeat chorus
(my third margarita)
I should of known I could never get along
Outside of your love
Its last call
And Im out of cigarettes
They are all wondering what Im gonna do
Oh my hands on the glass
Its my last margarita
And my mind is on you
My mind is on you
My mind is on you

Your Mind Is On Vacation
Sitting there yakkin right in my face
Coming on like you own the place
If silence was golden
You couldnt raise a dime
Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working overtime
Youre quoting figures, youre dropping names
Youre telling stories, youre playing games
You always laugh when things aint funny
You try to sound like you dont need money
If talk was criminal, youd lead a life of crime
Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working overtime
You know that life is short and talk is cheap
Dont make promises that you cant keep
If you dont like the song Im singing, just grin and bear it
All I can say is if the shoe fits wear it
If you must keep talking please can you make it rhyme
Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working overtime
Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working overtime
Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working overtime

Mind By Design
If you use it...
There is nothing you should fear.
Just don't abuse it.
Refuse to as you choose.
If you use it...
No dozing snoozing will oppose.
If you do as you suppose.
And if you use it...
Accusations will vacation.
Freeing you to cruise and choose.
To chase away confusion...
From your head that stays cool.
If you use it...
You can stop the drinking booze.
Or drugging up to soothe and numb...
Succumbing doubt that overcomes.
And if you use it...
There is nothing you should fear,
That's so severe you keep so near...
To pursue as a life that suits.
When to the curb you can boot it.
You can use it!
That mind by design.
You can use it!
I's one of a kind.
You can use it.
Use it.
Use it.
Use it...
That mind by design.
Yours and one of a kind.
You can use it.
Use it.
Use it.
Use it...
That mind by design.
Yours and one of a kind.
You can use it.
That mind by design.
Know you can use it!
Yours and one of a kind.
Accusations will vacation.
Freeing you to cruise and choose.
To chase away confusion...
From your head that stays cool.
You can use it.
Use it.
Use it.
Use it...
That mind by design.
Yours and one of a kind.
Just choose to use it!

Old Fashioned Courtesy for M'lady Tara
The hearth is the heart of the home.
Or used to be before T.V
The glowing coals bid you welcome
on winter nights especially.
Though now the idiots lantern rules
and it is given pride of place
An entertainment fit for fools
who sit and watch without a trace,
a glimmer of intelligence.
They live their lives vicariously
an unreal world of false pretence.
Hypnotised by what they see.
Although I watch occasionally
I can find better things to do.
Than voluntary slavery.
I have my hobbies to pursue.
I tend to watch the latest news,
Sometimes a movie if I choose
perhaps a documentary
I’m in control not the T.V/
If you should choose to visit me
So I can greet you properly
I switch it off without a thought
as any polite person ought.

Nice Place To Visit
Not really lookin for, for nothing special,
Just someplace that I can call my own,
Im growing tired of, of running wild,
Its time I settled down
Bridge:
There seems to be some lights on,
But aint nobody home
I think I see some lights on,
But there aint nobody home
Aint being choosy, but
Dont want no floozy,
And thats not much to ask
Chorus:
Shes a nice place to visit (3x)
But I wouldnt want to live her,
Nice place to visit
Hey, is anybody home?
Seeing is believing,
But looks can be deceiving,
What you get aint always what you see
I like what s down there,
But no one is upstairs,
I think theres bats in the belfry
Chorus
I dont know whats come over me,
Im blinded by the scenery,
Nice place to visit,
I dont know what Im gonna do
Im coming back because of you,
Nice place to visit, visit, visit...
Bridge
This big bad wolf knows
Which way the wind blows,
And which little piggys house is made of brick,
Must have vacated, or mislocated,
Theres just toys, toys in the attic
Chorus (hey, is anybody home? )
Knock, knock, whos there?
Shes a nice place to visit (2x)

Down Low
I've heard it said...
Those down low,
Do it slow in bed!
They want to keep
Discreet yet sneaky.
And I can't defend...
That kind of sense,
That makes none in the end!
Well...
That 'end' is a beginning,
For them!
Dudes say they are down low,
When sharing with like minds.
Just to satisfy desires...
They themselves can not define!
And choose to keep these thoughts,
More kept within!
And felt it better unexpressed,
If not mentioned and left behind!
And women do the same...
But they refrain from giving it a name!
Lesbian, gay or homo doers...
When it is done,
It is plain...
No one is blamed!
And a game played unseen...
Shouldn't make one feel ashamed!
Yet it has to be admitted...
Acts of love are done!
Look around...
They don't have to be claimed!
For those who know,
They are 'special' to someone!
It is a fact that is known.
It doesn't have to be publicly shown.
As long as what is shared...
Is between those who expose they care!
Whether down low,
Above...
Or any and everywhere!
For those who know,
They are 'special' to someone!
It is done protectively...
And out of sight of those who oppose,
How others live the lives they choose,
To live as 'they' do and chose!

On The Road
My aunt lives over there
you said
and Jimmy looked
over the back
of the coal truck
to where you were pointing
and said
we must be far
from home then
if that’s where she lives
and you looked over
at the apartments
wondering if your aunt
was home or not
and the coal guy said
best keep your heads down boys
don’t want people wondering
what the heck you’re doing
in the back of a coal truck
and so you and Jimmy
got underneath
the tarpaulin
and the driver pulled away
to deliver more coal
and Jimmy said
if my old girl
knew I was here
she’d hit the roof
or worse
and you said
well it’s been an adventure
it got us out
of the block
and on the road
for a while
and when we get
back home
we best sneak
out of here
and hope to God
we ain’t covered
in that coal dust
all over out jeans
and tee-shirts and such
or we’ll be in for it
and outside
you could hear
the pitter patter of rain
on the tarpaulin
and imagined
you could hear
Jimmy’s mother’s
sharp angry voice
through the darkness calling.

When the Night Falls Upon the Alone
When relationships keep failing, it really makes you wonder, am I meant to spend life alone
When the sun falls upon the city
Here you are alone
You think of families
Gathering in their homes
Moms putting a meal on the table
Making sure homework is done
Dads doing catch up work
He had to bring home
Here you are
Watching t.v.
Wondering is there someone
Out there for you
As your sitting home alone
A boyfriend here, a boyfriend there
But nothing really stable, nothing on solid ground
Wondering why is it, there is not anyone here
Sharing what couples share
Wondering who else is sitting
In this world alone
No one to bother you
Doing what you wanna do
No one to interrupt while the t.v. is on
Being able to walk out the door
No one to report to
Where have you been, when are you going to be back
Asking in worry what took you so long
No one to make plans with
The week days so long
Waiting for the weekend
To go out to social places
Watching couples kiss, cuddle
And dance, not going home alone
Someone catching you sitting there
Stuttering over invading your space
Asking, what are you doing here alone
Shrugging your shoulders
I just am
Asking if they could have the empty chair
Can I buy you a drink
Conversation covers topics
Thoughts of taking you home
Till you make it clear
One night stands is not what you do
The night ending with a favorite song
Can I call you sometime
When it dawns on him
Your still
walking out the door
Going home alone
Some day the phone may ring
Would you like to go out to dinner
Would you like to go out dancing
Sometimes it so tiring to be alone
Yea, I know what you mean
And the question is asked
Why are you alone
Your answer is plain
It may even match theirs
Just haven’t found that one
That wants to be focused on a relationship
to make plans that includes two
to wonder where I am when I am late
the moment when thoughts to give
who rings who to see how things are going
to only be with me
yea, I know what you mean
they tell of the story of why
they’re alone
you think this might be it
lets take it slow
see where it may lead us
yet in the mean time
I think I’ll watch the evenings
Come and go
Spending time alone
Till they make up there mind
They don’t want you
Or them to spend their life
Alone

An Englishman In The Usa
Writers: leo sayer & les davidson
Rambling round your city streets
I feel no earth beneath my feet
And I feel my life
Is crumbling into, into the sea
But I cant swim
Three thousand miles
So all I have is lonely nights
Im an englishman
Lost in the usa
And its a long way back home
Such a long way back home
And Im wondering
Where am I gonna go
Lines dead -- operators gone
And now the fear is coming on
And I hear my love
Wondering where have I gone
So Im gambling bucks for pounds
Yeah, but lady luck
Just wont come around
For an englishman
Who is stuck in the usa
And its a long way back home
Such a long way back home
And Im wondering
Will I ever get away
So here I am and there are you
Where wishful thoughts
Dont serve no use
And all the worrying in the world
Wont pull me through
So I think of love that
Might have been
And an airline ticket
Thats like a dream
For an englishman
Who is lost in the usa
Such a long way back home
Such a long way back home
And Im wondering
Will I ever get to go
And Im waiting for you
To take me home
