Riot
From the flickering screen to the eye of my eye of the world
I see the dance of old children around a ring of fire
They swarm downtown as ambassadors of Reichstag ghost
Piling debris of the streets into aluminum pyres
Where black smokes in vigor in the war of Childs play
Leading plagues of amber flames that erase all false remorse
Rehearse well for reason: say it's for losing the game
Guilt washed from their faces as they entertain a savage choir
Riot - ignites Pandora's Box of treats
Her final secret unwrapped the cellophane teats
Riot - assemble the horseman's chariot
Let them carpool in masse as they scourge Vancouver's streets
Two Escalades asphyxiate in pool charred embers
Smoke escapes from a nightmare in sky that foreign
Telephoned skyped from Kandahar province
You can't tell the difference between terrorist or prep kids
Accept their conflict is nothing in an armistice of leisure
We got rebels in khakis with orthopedic shoes
designer T shirts purchased at Steve and Berries
Fighting not for a faith but the apathy of youth
Guilt soaks their actions for their adolescent ways
Riot - assimilate the sheep into wolves
Packs run amuck when the shepherds fail to judge
Riot - Reflects the mirror of Shiva's Cloth
Creation bares marks for life's agents to Damage
Maybe they should use this chance
to march on City hall
Instead of using it as opportunity
to vandalize some luxury malls
Their making it a hell just to walk down the street
But they don't even bother to pick a fight with Harpers sheiks
Retaliate against the new Cons senate
or Joe Flaherty's austere amendments
Our nation crumbles to our leader's follies
But we have the Nikos in Molson Stanley Cup rebellion
Riot - Unleash the instincts of carnage
Dismember sobriety of middle class prostitution
Riot - Is the pivot of intelligent dissention
Mans brutish innate instincts, without the makeup of etiquette
I watch this carnage, married to a plasma screen
and I look outside my blinds to French windows to see
Faces of neighbors mowing lawns and trimming hedges'
And I Wonder how far it takes for them to jump from the ledges
Into the sea of anarchy, destitution has know lessons
When we purchase damnation through our insolvent actions
I turn inwards and feel secure, solitude and keep the mind pure
For the only miracle I've believe
is man's not dead from an Atom bomb bee
The only prayer I will ever make
Is to hang the bloody race from sycamore tree
Riots destroy and Riots demolish,
the being of human that falls entombed to the furnace

And later on at peoples park
The winds of change fanned into flames

Down to isla vista where police felt so harassed
They called the special riot squad of the l. a. county sheriff
Well theres a riot going on
Theres a riot going on
Theres a riot going on

The violence spread down south to where jackson state brothers
Learned not to say nasty things about southern policemens mothers

When rally turned to riot up at kent state university
They said the students scared the guard
Though the troops were battle dressed
Four martyrs earned a new degree

Love is similar to God
Love is similar to God,
Both are riots, One is good,
Another is bad in the name of God;
Love is the result of 'Harmonal' riot,
Misunderstanding the religion and God
too leads to 'Religious' riot;
Both are invisible to human eyes,
Why do you want to sacrifice your lives
for the sake of Love and God?

The Riot Of Your Time
Music :rudolf schenker
Lyrics:klaus meine
The only king of rock has gone
Gone to heaven
A star on the way to the stars
Another king of rock is born in 77
Just born to be there when its dark
94, 95, if the world is still alive
With the start of the riot of your time
Heres a ticket for a burning train
To set the world in flame
To play the heros game
The riot of your time
Heres a ticket for the future days
Youll be the guitar king
When your electric plays
The riot of your time
A new generations mind
The riot of your time
Just to get the message to be more
Than you desire
A star full of life wild and young
The hits from 1994 electric fire
Will burn out the time like the sun
94, 95, if the world is still alive
With the start of the riot of your time
Heres a ticket for a burning train
To set the world in flame
To play the heros game
The riot of your time
Heres a ticket for the future days
Youll be the guitar king
When your electric plays
The riot of your time
A new generations mind
The riot of your time

Another Dictator Coming Down The Road
They’re having another daily riot somewhere over there,
Trying to get rid of another despot dictator somewhere,
They must have a good reason to riot and need to change so bad,
There’s something extremely wrong there and it all seems quite sad.
But who’s going to come out of the woods and be the new dictator?
Will democracy raise its head in this amphitheater?
Without plebiscites, propositions or honest elections,
Who will win in these new poker-like very strange selections?
As we watch these vicious deathly riots nightly on TV,
Could be compared to watching a prolonged bullfight for free,
Except for the smoke, the tanks, the bullets, the bodies and bombs,
And dead people just lying around without any qualms.

Riot Reunion
What time is it, I want to know
It's late and we're feelin' great
Well the time is now, we're ready to go
Gonna make it right tonight, oh yeah
Come on, come on, to the riot reunion
Come on, come on, we're gonna get you
Come on, come on, to the riot reunion (yeah)
The lights are bright, we're gonna dance all night
It's late and we're feelin' great
I want to see 'em move, ain't got no time to lose
Rock on all through the night (oh yeah)
Come on, come on, to the riot reunion
Come on, come on, we're gonna get you
Come on, come on, to the riot reunion
We're feelin' funny 'cause now is the time
We'd like to get crazy with you
You got to lock the doors 'cause their havin' no more
Ain't gonna let you out 'til we're through
Oh yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah let's go!!
Come on, come on, to the riot reunion
Come on, come on, we're gonna get you
Come on, come on, to the riot reunion
Come on, come on!

Drones And Riots
Just a Thought (drones and riots)
In Waziristan, a tiny Pakistani town, a drone hit its target.
The collateral damage... several children killed.
This incident happened about the same time as riot struck
London after an armed loser was shot by the police.
A few building were torched and many shops were looted
and trivial items like trainers and TV were stolen.
In Waziristan the drone was dropped by murderous fools
the riot in London was done by the hopelessly inadequate.

The Drug's Not Working
I was shooting in the back of the car
When the windows smashed on the police cars
I was swimming through the streets of New York
With my cocaine dagger and throats to cut
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
But it was making me high
She was a hooker at the age of 16
All she wanted was the money
She didn't need an I.D.
She was a junkie and I know its clich
But then so was her life
I mean, she lived in L.A.
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
But it was making her high
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
But it was making her high
And it was making her cry
And it was making her cry
(Riot in my skull, demons are coming)
And it was making her cry
(Los Angeles is dead, the drugs ain't working)
And it was making her cry
(Painted it all black, the chains are jerking)
And it was making her cry
(Los Angeles is dead, the drugs ain't working)
And it was making her cry
(Riot in my skull, demons are coming)
And it was making her cry
(Los Angeles is dead, the drugs ain't working)
And it was making her cry
(Los Angeles is dead, the drugs ain't working)
Riot in my skull, demons are coming
L.A. your dead, the drugs ain't working
Painted it all black, the chains are jerking
L.A. is dead, the drugs ain't working
L.A. your dead, the drugs ain't working
L.A. your dead, the drugs ain't working
The drugs ain't working
The drugs ain't working

Season Of Unrest
Watching TV, I really can’t quite believe my eyes.
The country’s losing control, I’m starting to realise.
If I was caught up in the riots, I’d be shaking with fear,
But, to be honest, I wouldn’t even dare venture near.
All that people can see for many miles around,
Are buildings on fire, being razed to the ground.
Some people have literally lost all their possessions,
Which hits them harder in this time of recession.
Faced with rioters with masks to hide their faces,
Riot-trained police are put through their paces.
The authorities seem to be rapidly losing control,
And their lack of strong presence is taking its toll.
In some places, are police dressed in their riot gear.
All around, you can almost smell the sense of fear.
Cars and buildings are being deliberately set on fire.
People are running amok till their heart’s desire.
They’re breaking down people’s front doors,
As well as looting goods from the nearby stores.
Many shops have had their windows smashed;
Their goods carried off to where the loot is stashed.
Petrol bombs and missiles are being thrown at the police,
Who are doing their best to restore relative peace.
The streets are bathed in orange firelight,
As police and rioters continue to fight.
Staff have locked themselves in; to scared to leave work.
Scared of getting caught up in the mobs going berserk.
TV reporters try their very best to keep us up to date,
But, with their own lives at risk, reports have to wait.
Unrest has now spread far and wide.
Law abiding citizens run and hide.
People are being forced to leave their homes.
Through the dark streets, terrified, they roam.
Unrest has been brewing for quite a while.
With cutbacks and job losses, people get riled.
People wonder where will be targeted next.
The whole country, this problem now affects.
I’m concerned for the safety of a dear friend.
I do so wish these awful riots would end.
I really do hope that it’s not long before,
Peace and harmony are restored once more.

Lightning
I want to know where you live
I want to know who you are
I want to see what you see
I want to go where you are
Want to touch what you touch
Want to be where you are
I want to know what city this is
Seems like Im moving so far
Riot town right noise
A lightning streak
Fate rides up and moves us on
Mother dont weep
I want to see what you see
I want to touch - let me play
I want to try every poison in sight
I want to lie where you lay
Let me see let me see
I want to know what you know
I want to learn whats imprisoning me
Iwant to know let it go
Riot time right noise
Violent times speak
Bottled up - like a fake damnation
Lightning speed
Crackdown backdoors
Meltdown shoes
Bare back riders - a rank outsider
An automatic cruise
I want to touch what you touch
I long to be where you are
Ill always know - youll let me know all this gets too far
Let me touch. let me touch
Let me feel what you feel
I want to know how certain this is
I want to know this is real
Riot town, right noise
Lightning streak
Fate rides up and moves us on
Mother dont weep
Crackdown back door
Violent times speak
Fate rides up and moves us on
Lightning streak

Little Honda
Im gonna wake you up early
Cause Im gonna take a ride wih you
Were going down to the honda shop
Ill tell you what were gonna do
Put on a ragged sweat shirt
Ill take you anywhere you want me to
First gear its all right
Second gear real riot
Third gear hang it tight
Faster ( its all right )
He climbs hills like the magic
Cause my honda felt really light
When I go into the turn
Stick with me and hang on tight
I better turn on the lights
So I can ride my honda tonight
First gear its all right
Second gear real riot
Third gear hang it tight
Faster ( its all right )

Across The Lines
Across the lines
Who would dare to go
Under the bridge
Over the tracks
That seperates whites from blacks
Choose sides
Or run for your life
Tonight the riots begin
On the back streets of America
They kill the dream of America
Little black girl gets assaulted
Ain't no reason why
Newspaper prints the story
And racist tempers fly
Next day it starts a riot
Knives and guns are drawn
Two black boys get killed
One white boy goes blind
Across the lines
Who would dare to go
Under the bridge
Over the tracks
That seperates whites from blacks
Choose sides
Or run for your life
Tonight the riots begin
On the back streets of America
They kill the dream of America
Little black girl gets assaulted
Don't no one know her name
Lots of people hurt and angry
She's the one to blame
Across the lines
Who would dare to go
Under the bridge
Over the tracks
That seperates whites from blacks
Choose sides
Or run for your life
Tonight the riots begin
On the back streets of America
They kill the dream of America

The Miniature Woman
The Blue-Eyed Giant, the Miniature Woman
and the Honeysuckle
He was a blue-eyed giant,
He loved a miniature woman.
The woman's dream was of a miniature house
with a garden where honeysuckle grows
in a riot of colours
that sort of house.
The giant loved like a giant,
and his hands were used to such big things
that the giant could not
make the building,
could not knock on the door
of the garden where the honeysuckle grows
in a riot of colours
at that house.
He was a blue-eyed giant,
he loved a miniature woman,
a mini miniature woman.
The woman was hungry for comfort
and tired of the giant's long strides.
And bye bye off she went to the embraces of a rich dwarf with a garden where the honeysuckle grows
in a riot of colours
that sort of house.
Now the blue-eyed giant realizes,
a giant isn't even a graveyard for love:
in the garden where the honeysuckle grows
in a riot of colours
that sort of house...

Flowers Bloom Like People
The flowers in the garden strike blue,
Just like lovely you.
These flowers at the forefront speak loud,
Opening the doors to what is allowed.
Never do we release so many scents
As this day. This day, we march like gents.
Just like roses we announce,
We sometimes ponder and pounce.
In effect we denounce our leaders,
Leading the committee of readers.
These are the authority of the dance
Of flowers, in our garden of chance.
From this garden I walk into fields,
Then streets are with us, no more hayfields.
The green garden was behind now and then,
With innocence at its side, compared again.
A ghostly swamp is not our task,
Merely we dine in pleasure and mask.
For we arrive in the city streets,
Walking is an objective so much it cheats.
We are some, they are many,
This conundrum augments the penny,
For if they are greater than us,
We shall be greater with words to discuss.
Flowers, we claim, are at our heads,
They do swear to keep beds;
Our heads also keep them, one after the other,
The rooms to occupy are more than our mother.
The soil is so endangered by us,
Flowers keep great ideas in dirtiness.
The gardeners work forever this way,
Shaking the soil with their day.
May our sleeping hours prove to be higher
Than all of nature’s, still we can tire.
Flower the world with our march,
The march continues to arch.
May fatigue be the enemy of our protest,
This riot we create, and then be assessed.
What we are is not your concern,
The bushes and plants have a turn.
Their laziness requires religious thought,
We need to think better than today as sought.
Let the population know what we have forsaken,
The streets should be empty and obedient with abortion.
The walkers are right, just totally right,
An abduction causes us a different light.
They take away some flowers from the garden,
The garden of Us, we are the garden to pardon.
May we string new words,
Extract blessing from our birds.
The garden is polite like a stage,
Acting will never grow or enrage.
The nature of substances is grand,
Like that of this very land.
Lazy flowers shout too hard,
That is why they droop and be charred.
They wilt and slowly drop,
Like us as we come to the top.
Life is about the riots of flowers,
We marched up and down, with powers.

religion is like prison
keep the people locked up in different divisions
some of them promise you heaven
but I see a whole lot of bullshit ism-scism
imperialism in the form of spirituality
slave mentality, escape reality
what we supposed to just suffer and smile and be content?
sendin our prayers to the clouds? (stic.man - uhn uh)
i want my heaven now, freedom on earth
and if the preacher ain't with us, then we takin his church
what is it worth to have the biggest religion
when the people got miserable living conditions?
no water, no lights, no rights
all over africa we fight, but we have to unite
cause ain't no power in the gospel
when the priest puttin powder in his nostril
and the elder's council fails to lead
and the children suffer from daily need
and the people can barely eat
is it a sin to stand up
to fight against the ones that put is in handcuffs?
goddamn, what happened to the daily bread, spread love
and not what the bible said, but in the name of the bible
how much love is spread compared to how much blood is shed
chorus:
[Bilal]
everyday my people get inside the bus
(women - shuffering and shmiling)
everyday its the circle
(women - shuffering and shmiling)
everyday my people get inside the bus
(women - shuffering and shmiling)
everyday its the circle
[Jorge Ben Jor] (scat singing)
(women - shuffering and shmiling) x4
everyday its the same thing
[Talib Kweli]
yo
every day I wake up is a miracle, thank you
seperate religious and the spiritual, thank you
see, I dont be askin in the air, every action is a prayer
the bear won't attack me, I be, attackin the bear, see
back in the day I used to work in a bookstore
my job was to find whatever book you look for
i remember one day this lady came for a bible
we was out, so I started showin here other titles
tryna share information about a religion
everything that I showed her was written by christians, still
she got the hell up outta the place
wonderin something about me shakin her faith
now, knowledge is power, we spread information
how strong is your faith? what it take to be shaken?
yo, I think she missed what jesus was sayin
can't keep your eyes closed to a revelation
you could be speakin in tongues
could be speakin of sons and daughters
my reflection of course, within the water is
beautiful, attractive, my musical contraption
classified as unusual practice but
thats what it take to be a man
free the land, crash down on babylon like the sea to the sand
peace to the fam, we want you all to stay strong and live long
like a de la song, c'mon
[stic.man & Talib Kweli]
can't keep quiet
this time gon' be more than a riot
can't keep quiet
this time gon' be more than a riot
can't keep quiet
this time gon' be more than a riot
can't keep quiet
this time gon' be more than a riot
[m1]
this way of life, ain't right
pray all day and night and don't fight
poped up, doped up
work three jobs to fill the gold cup
no water, no food, no lights, no rights
no power til the people unite
it's gone - divison and they work us in prison
look round, how my niggas is livin
everything we make, they takin it to the bank
while we sittin up in the church to give thanks
don't you know the preacher got bank? (m1 - uhn uh, uhn uh)
don't you know the deacon smoke dank? (m1 - uhn uh, uhn uh)
did you ever think the bible was a prank? (m1 - uhn uh, uhn uh)
somebody bout to faint
before they came
they had the bible, we had the land
now, we got the bible, they got the land
and what do you believe in, heaven or hell?
life is what you make it, so thats why I rebel
uncle sam, got blood on his hands
good god, how the devil can dance
nobody wanna help a nigga
put your hands together, do it yourself my nigga
don't sit there
you won't have nobody rushin to die
so do something don't just suffer and smile

Even As Cities Burn
Come on get those cocktails ready.
The riot is tonight.
Time to settle the score.
No I don't think so.
I rather use my words.
Hurting others brings no satisfaction to me as it does you.
So then your not coming?
I'm sorry but I just can't.
This war will destroy.
I rather not bloody my hands as another one of them.
Guilty by association.
No matter how greedy the bastards really are.
Its not my job to mar.
They will destroy themselves.
One way or another.
Fine I'm leaving without you coward.
I'm sorry but I just don't believe in that kind of violence.
A prediction as history will play out and repeat its self.
Like a broken record.
It continues on.
Even as cities burn.
Killing and looting will play out as it always does.
Their is already enough blame to go around.
Why should be involved in disembowelling of what I helped to create?
When it is done you can celebrate.
And I'll sit in prayer for its all of our mistakes.

Riot Act
Forever doesnt mean forever anymore
I said forever
But it doesnt look like Im gonna be around much anymore
When the heat gets sub-tropical
And the talk gets so topical
Riot act - you can read me the riot act
You can make me a matter of fact
Or a villain in a million
A slip of the tongue is gonna keep me civilian
Why do you talk such stupid nonsense
When my mind could rest much easier
Instead of all this dumb dumb insolence
I would be happier with amnesia
They say forget her
Now it looks like youre either gonna be for me or against me
I got your letter
Now they say I dont care for the colour that it paints me
Trying to be so bad is bad enough
Dont make me laugh by talking tough
Dont put your heart out on your sleeve
When your remarks are off the cuff

Detroit City
Me and Iggy were giggin' with Ziggy and kickin' with the MC5
Ted and Seger were burnin' with fever
And let the Silver Bullets fly
The Kid was in his crib, Shady wore a bib
And the Posse wasn't even alive
Shock rock choppin' block, songs to make your heart stop
Shovin' it in to overdrive
Playing loud and fast
Make that guitar blast
Playing like today will be your last...
Well I was born there
Gonna die there
With all my long hair
Detroit City
You feel your heart beat
You hit the concrete
Dance the mean street
Detroit City
There's a riot raging downtown
Tryin' to burn the place down
Skies glowin' red and gray
But the Riff kept a rockin'
The Creem kept a talkin'
And the streets still smokin' today
Playing loud and fast
Make that guitar blast
Playing like today will be your last...
Well I was born there
Probably die there
With all my long hair
Detroit City
You feel your heart beat
You hit the concrete
Dance the mean streets
Detroit City
Six mile seven mile eight mile nine mile ten mile eleven mile
Detroit City
Louder
Faster
Louder
Detroit City
Well, I was born there
Gonna die there
We don't belong here
Detroit City
You feel your heart beat
Hit the concrete
Dance the mean street
Detroit City
Well, I was born there
Probably die there
With all my long hair
Detroit City
You feel your heart beat
You hit the concrete
Dance the mean street
