Night Secrets…
No more my aching heart
As you sleep silent in my breast
Awakening in the night
I await your sweet caress
My aching, barren arms in vain
So many times I've wept
At night upon my pillow
While in my bed I slept

This morning,
at about ten after eight,
eyes still aching
from all of those tears,
I stand at my office window
and look out
at an impossibly orange sun
climbing into
a blue celebration of sky.

In the background,
the haunting beginnings of Carrickfergus:
aching flutes and yearning pipes
calling,
beckoning my heart
to yours.

And in this moment,
hands in the back pockets
of worn blue corduroys,
squinting through a salt-stained window
on the last (and much welcomed) Thursday
of a sad and sadder January,

I see
(or seem to see)
drifting through my soul (and yours, sweet child)
a pale bouquet
of Emily Dickinson's feathers.

You, the eternal bruise and brilliance of my heart.
You, the memory that whispers endlessly
of wonder and wings.

Once again
I long to hear
The promise of love
That flies with silver wing
Unto golden sun.

My heart is filled with so much love
Suddenly, there is heaven in my heart
The bells are ringing in the sky
Sounds like a symphony

So I blew a kiss on a wind
Scattered into the fields of love
That sways together with the four leaf clover
And flew into the petals of rose
Just close your eyes,
Feel the love that dances to the music of sunrise

I hear laughter at the morning skies
On were the morning sun has begun to rise
As a golden fire scattered at the meadow
Like this love arose as a morning glow

'You must remember this...a kiss is
just a kiss...a sigh is just a sigh, ' etc.

With you...nothing...nothing, could be
further from the truth.

Your kiss, is a ride among the stars,
a shower of moon beams and a
sailboat ride, in the Garden Of Eden.

Kissing you...is an out of body experience,
a transport to paradise and a creation
of ultimate passion and joy.

Kissing, every part of who you are, is
truly a banquet of love.
