I Know What You’ve Been Doing’
Nanna’s charge little Shirley all but four
Grabbed the chocolate and closed the door,
On her face round her mouth, sticky dress
Melted chocolate what a mess!
Grandma came in to such a shock
Wishing she’d kept it under lock.
“Never never eat so much of this treat,
Your stomach will balloon till you float down the street, ”
Cleaned and tidy they both went off to catch the bus,
Alighting Shirley said, ‘Sit here just the two of us”
A heavily pregnant lady passed as though something was brewing.
Tiny Shirley stood up shouting ‘ I know what You’ve been doing’
NB. Eating lots of chocks?

I Love Chocolate
I love chocolate, oh yes I do.
Eating chocolate is a must too.
I love chocolate, how about you?
They say dark chocolate is now good for you too.
I would eat chocolate while watching Mr. Magoo.
I would eat chocolate instead of dodo.
I like a good chocolate candy bar.
I would even eat chocolate from a jar.
I want to eat chocolate all day long.
Eating too much chocolate may be wrong.
They need to write about chocolate in a song.
Some people eat chocolate just to belong.
I would even eat chocolate in my Froot Loops
I would even eat chocolate with a big group.

Chocolate Is A Food Group
I love chocolate.
So should you.
Milk chocolate,
Dark chocolate.
It's good for you, too.
Chocolate cake,
Chocolate candy,
Chocolate pie.
Take away my chocolate
And I might die.
White chocolate,
Hot chocolate,
Even chocolate soup...
Any chocolate lover knows
Chocolate is a food group.

Shirley Sherrod
It was early Shirley learned,
She would be propelled to excell...
In the fight against the right,
For anyone to ignite...
Racial injustices.
Shirley told a story,
About her life!
Not to glorify the strife she faced.
But to eliminate misunderstandings to erase.
And edited her good deeds from a speech she made,
To entice a hatred meant...
By those who wished Shirley's descent.
Those who used deceit and...
Devilment.
For purposes to exclude,
Shirley's full and precise comments infused.
It was early Shirley learned,
She would be propelled to excell...
In the fight against the right,
For anyone to ignite...
Racial injustices.
Shirley intended to end,
Experiences with pointless discrimination some defend.
By using her position,
To effect better conditions.
But one sentence made and reported out of context,
Affected the influence to show Shirley at her best.
And she was fired!
Yes.
Because Shirley inspired.
Yes.
And those who supported Shirley,
Became upset and began to protest.
'We must overcome,
Those divisions some welcome.
We have to do this for ourselves.
Since where we are as a people...
Exposes a magnified sadness.
That documents a backward movement tracked.'
A fiasco started to discredit Shirley Sherrod,
With Black and White attacks...
That keep all strapped and attached to traps,
Must end!
Before the blindness of divisiveness...
Ruins a nation of various colors and ethnic blends.
Dedicated:
To Shirley Sherrod.
A USDA Official fired from her job,
For not only going beyond the call of duty...
But also dignifying the human race,
With her commitment to ensure justice...
Is there to represent 'all' people.
Not just the 'rich'.
But also those who are defenseless.
~She is to be 'admired'.
Not fired!
Lifted and praised.
Not disgraced by racists...
With limited days.~

Weighty Dilemma
Whata yah do
when yah no longer care
that yer shortnin'
yer days with
that cake
yah just ate?
This is the moment...
the one that counts,
yah lie to yerself...
as yah sink
yer teeth inta
the chocolate dream
yah just crammed
in yer mouth!
This is the moment
the one that counts...
not the one
ten pounds
down the road
where you'll
run into the
results
of the one
who didn't care
way back
when yah were
sinkin' yer teeth
inta that chocolate dream.

5. Chocolate
Chocolate made of yummy stuff
We taste it with delight
The more we eat the more we want
Some say this isn’t right
Chocolate looks so harmless
A smart smooth creamy block
With lots of little chunks to eat
All gone well that’s a shock
Chocolate does melt quickly
It runs between your fingers
Until you lick it all away
No fear it never lingers
Chocolate tries to temp us
In its many coloured pack
It tries to cause addiction
Being sure that we go back
Chocolate’s simple pleasure
Enjoy it while you can
With waistlines now expanding
We’ve installed a chocolate ban

Chocolate!
Chocolates, Chocolates, Chocolates,
Milk- chocolate, Mint-chocolate and semi-sweet,
Yummy dark chocolate is such a treat.
Chocolate yoghurt, sauce and chips,
And the chocolate dips,
One can have lot of sips.
Some are hard, some are smooth,
But at times give you saw-tooth,
Chocolate-shake, Hot chocolate are some drinks,
Which makes you wink.
Chocolate to express your love,
Which makes you feel above,
Chocolate to say sorry,
And then no worry.
So is chocolate healthy?
Or is just a mystery?
Or is chocolate a delight?
But, chocolates are just so right.

My Husband
MY HUSBAND
I ask you if you'd be my man and you said I already am
You call me your wife, You gave me a ring, but I don't have your last name
But I love you just the same.
You ask me if I wanted to.And I said yes I do
There's one thing you need to know,
I love you with all my heart and soul.
I pray were together til death do us part.
I'm so happy you chose me, for in my heart you'll always be
We've laughed together. Cry together, And shared our dreams
You ask me if I wanted to.And I said yes I do.
In my heart your my friend, my lover, my soul mate, Your my husband
And there never be another.
I'll always be your wife, Mrs. Shirley Margerum.

Wrapped In Chocolate
I love the way the chocolate taste when enter into my mouth.
It covers my body with silkiness around my temple.
This chocolate feels warm when it enters into the body.
I feel the chocolate stirring up inside.
Causing my body to shiver.
This chocolate doesn’t melt in your mouth it because harden.
It strengthens the deeper goes and it grows.
The chocolate wraps me with whites of cream I ever seen.
I don’t want to share my chocolate.
I have become enchanted with the way this chocolate makes me feel.
This chocolate it’s made for one.
That one is I…

Chocolate Creations
You wouldn’t believe what we’re having
Right down at our plaza hall
There are tables of delicious chocolate
Tiny red apples, and that’s not all
A chocolate vase, can you imagine?
Clusters of chocolate with nuts
I’ll tell you one thing folks
This is one way to get out of a rut
Makes you smile just to imagine
What chocolate can do for you
Not only can it make you smile
But it’s sweet and good and true
But, you have to be so careful
About how you eat this treat
Oh yes, you musn’t gobble
My way just can’t be beat
Why, chocolate’s something to savor
You can’t just start to chew
Oh no, you must let it melt
On your tongue and mouth, it’s true
So if you have a need for something
Sweet and oh so good
Join us, but make it quick
Or I’ll eat your share for you!

Chocolate Fever
It all started this morning,
When I was craving something sweet.
Hey how about some candy,
Wouldn't that be just the treat?
And that morning...
Creamy
Tasting light in my mouth
Tummy turning chocolate feeling heavy in my belly
Hit me
like
a BOMB
And now you see... I'm addicted
I can't keep your taste off of my mind
I just crave for more
Of my astonishing find
I have it every hour,
Every second of the day,
I can't even share this sacred feeling
To have some you have to pay
So pay up, pay up, HURRY!
Before I eat it all...
Oh...woops I'm sorry... It's Gone!
Hypnotizing delight and all
That night,
I dreamt of chocolate rivers,
Chocolate fountains,
Chocolate Buildings
Chocolate mountains,
Chocolate cities
Chocolate, Chocolate
Where art thou? ? ?
I miss you...
I need you...
You’re gone
And I crave you night and day,
Please Please come back...
I promise I'll pay.

Something From the Woman I Left Behind
1978,
the seventh anniversary of our marriage
we spent the night in a van,
on top of Brasstown Bald mountain.
He slipped a pistol under the mattress
and said we would be safe
from robbers.
Vandals wear many disguises
and the violated learns, eventually,
to recognize the mask.
2 a.m.,
wrapped in my own arms,
the scent of his whiskey on my neck,
bruises on bare trembling legs;
I stood naked before the moon.
In cold October air,
had to find my way back
to me.

Shirley Do You Own A Ferrari?
[Chris Rea:]
Shirley
Do you own a Ferrari?
Do you live in a wonderful place?
And the smile on your face
Is of joyful laughter, happy ever after
[Shirley Bassey:]
Yes, I own a Ferrari
Yes, my life is your dream
And I live in a wonderful place
And the smile on my face
Is not sycophantic
I'm just a true romantic
How about you?
What is so wrong
With a heart with a dream
A soul without hope
Is a terrible scene
Deep in the coldest and darkest of nights
I hang on to my dream
Keep it locked in my sights
What is so wrong
With a heart with a dream
A soul without hope
Is a terrible scene
Deep in the coldest and darkest of nights
I hang on to my dream
Keep it locked in my sights
[Chris Rea:]
Shirley, do you own a Ferrari?

Huckleberry Grove
Shirley was a lady whose teeth were made of gold
She danced before the music and everything it told
Huckleberry Grove
Where the music plays into tomorrow night
Huckleberry Grove
Only fools would need to argue or to fight
Shirley had eight children and each of them were told
You got joy for singing burning in your soul
Huckleberry Grove
Where the idiots can't ease you of your mind

My Favorite blanket
When I was very little
I had a favorite blanket
I named her (For to me that
fluffy piece of fabric with
threads hanging off it,
was a girl) Yes I named her
Boobie
Now boobie was 'brown'
with small flecks of 'fawn'
she Hung by my side from dusk
until dawn.
One day as I sat in my 'beige' child's seat
with a 'chocolate' ice cream I was trying to eat
it melted and covered me from head to my feet
my boobie and I were stuck to the seat
Chocolate everywhere
Everything turned 'brown' including the 'beige'
little chair I now found.
Mummy would be so angry I knew
so I decided on what I must do
I gathered the mess
took it into the bath
filled up the tub
and then for a laugh
chucked in the chair with me and my clothes
funny thing happened the water just rose
over it flowed onto the floor
a sticky 'chocolate brown' water ran out the door
I remember Mummy did not think it fun
when she saw the mess and what I had done
She sent me to think about things in my room
with my soggy 'brown' blanket
to help ease my gloom
