Lovers In The Back Seats At The Movies
Two young lovers in the back seats of the movie house
Beautiness cuddliness loveliness holding hands,
Youths pleasure, everyone quiet as a mouse
The flickering light shows a Caliph riding across the burning sands,
Riding hard to save a captive princess his love of many years,
The two, oblivious to everything except each other's touch
This caliph, has the princess in his arms certainly with no tears,
An' wow this hour they love each other oh so much.
A mighty sword flashes across the screen and downs the Devil thief,
The victor frees his love and lifts her on to his horse
Then rides off on to the horizon goodness his belief,
A movie we all love with a happy ending of course.
OMG our young lovers are still kissing
Wake up little Susie what a movie they've been missing,
A flashing torch makes them end their date
For he did say 'I promise we won't be late'

Silent Movie
(corky laing/ian hunter)
Well the school bell rings
I carried your things
Getting on the yellow bus
With the whole world watching us
And our love was like a silent movie
Aint got nothing to say
Our love was like a silent movie
I wish we could have kept it that way
Now the door bell rings
Im gonna get my things
Take another bright (? )
At the lions side
Cause our love was like a silent movie
Aint got nothing to say
Our love was like a silent movie
Thats the all-american way
Silent movie
And our love was like a silent movie
Theres nothing to say
Our love was like a silent movie
And thats the all-american way
And our love was like a silent movie
Theres nothing to say
Our love was like a silent movie
I wish we could have kept it that way

Back Row Of The Picture House (Fun Poem 31)
Sitting in the back row
of the picture house the other day,
as the lights went out
the lovers came out to play.
First it was arms around shoulders,
then came the closer move,
it was then the kissing began.
There was more action going on
in the seats in front of me,
than there was on the big screen.
At one point I thought,
I was at a wrestling match.
They need subtitles and an X rating
to describe what happened next.
As I do not have one,
I’ll let your imagination do it for me.
Now when the lights went on
during intermission time.
Each had gone back
to their corners of the ring,
but once the lights went out,
they started all over again.
What was happening off screen
was more interesting than what was on it.
Finally, the movie was over,
and I did not see one bit of it.
There was more happening in the seats
than there ever was on the screen.
Tomorrow I’ll have to come back again
to try to see the big picture through once again.
That will be the third time this week.

Wake Up Little Susie
Wake up little susie, wake up. wake up little susie, wake up.
The movie wasnt so hot, it didnt have much of a plot
We fell asleep, out goose is cooked, our reputation is shot
Wake up little susie, wake up little susie
What are you gonna tell your mama, what you gonna tell your pa
What are you gonna tell your friend when they say ooo la la
Wake up little susie, wake up little susie
Well I told your mama that youd be back by ten
Now susie, baby looks like we goofed again
Wake up little susie, wake up little susie, we gotta go home
Wake up little susie, wake up. wake up little susie, wake up.
The bullfrogs sound asleep, wake up little susie and weep
Its four oclock and were in trouble deep
Wake up little susie, wake up little susie

Lovers Walk
I wont walk with my head bowed
(be on) beyond caution where lovers walk
My love walks where threes a crowd
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers walk, lovers scramble
Beyond caution where the lovers walk
Lovers step, shuffle and gamble
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers trip, lovers stumble
Lovers dip, lovers fumble
Lovers lip where love has crumbled
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers strut, lovers stroll, lovers leap
Lovers late, lovers wait
Making promises that they cant keep
Lovers link up arm and arm
Lovers slink up, lovers charm
Lovers drink up and come to harm
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Love is gone and its no ones fault
Love has stopped here, lovers halt
Lovers dont walk, lovers run
Will you look what love has done
Will you look what love has done
Will you look what love has done
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Now loves limping on a lovers crutch
Looking for a hand with a personal touch
Beyond caution where lovers walk

Princess Rose should indeed be a TV movie, assuming something doesn't go wrong. I don't know how good a movie it will be, because the way movie folk think is different from the way writers think, and I distrust what isn't done my way. This is what I call a healthy paranoia.

The Way Young Lovers Do
(van morrison)
Originally contained in van morrison's astral weeks
Oh...
We strolled through fields all wet with rain
And back along the lane again
There in the sunshine
In the sweet summertime
Oh the way that young lovers do
I kissed you on the lips once more
We said goodbye at your front door
There in the nighttime
Love, that's the right time
Oh to feel the way that young lovers do
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that we were and the
Way that we wanted to be
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that i was for you
And that you were for me
And then we long to dance the night away
Turned to each other, saying 'i love you, baby i love you'
Oh the way that young lovers do
Lovers do...
Do, do, do, do...
The way young lovers do
Do, do, do, do...
The way young lovers do...
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that we were and the way
That we wanted to be
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that i was for you
And you were for me
Oh baby, baby.
And then we long to dance the night away
And turned to each other, saying 'i love you, baby i love you'
Oh the way...
I held her with her looking down
And i kissed her, with the snow falling down
In the street light
It was a sweet light
And the way that young...
Oh, the way that young lovers...
Oh the way that young... that young lovers...
That young lovers do.

Her...
I can never get my mind off her,
I wonder if she'd mind if i'd,
make her my own,
and never let her go,
hug her tight,
treat her right,
act all polite,
take her on a date,
make sure i'm never late,
kiss her on her lips,
talk about our kids,
Make her feel like princess,
living in a castle,
hope that is not too much hassle,
But i am so blessed,
hope i can be the best,
hold you tight,
have your BR3A$t,
on my chest,
pass the test,
NOW YOUR MINE!

Young Love
Young love, that lays at your feet
is flamboyant yet is not complete.
For it has not felt the pain
of love itself when the rain
washes over the rush of primeval calls
that leave you with ups and then the pitfalls.
Little does it know of long endured years.
Little does it know of deep felt tears
that tear at the heart of every lover
that comes to them and seems to cover
all aspects of what older love's about.
Young love is born and has no doubt.
Young love's a beginning that shows its face.
Its innocence is a feeling of grace.
For it only knows the instant glow
that accompanies the attraction and the flow
as it creates a beating in the heart
that to young lovers will never depart.
But young love can never stay young you know.
It will either die or it will grow
into a comfortable and wondrous gift
giving the two a constant lift
to soothe out the lows and create the highs
that brings back young love that never dies.

This Was A Movie
Last night I heard my own heart beating
Sounded like footsteps on my stairs
Six months gone and I'm still reaching
Even though I know you're not there
I was playing back a thousand memories,
baby
Thinking 'bout everything we've been
through
Maybe I've been going back too much
lately
When time stood still and I had you
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You would, you would if this was a movie
Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You could, you could if you just said you're
sorry
I know that we could work it out somehow
But if this was a movie you'd be here by
now
I know people change and these things
happen
But I remember how it was back then
Wrapped up in your arms and our friends
were laughing
'Cause nothing like this ever happened to
them,
Now I'm pacing down the hall, chasing
down your street
Flashback to the night when you said to me,
'Nothing's gonna change, not for me and
you
Not before I knew how much I had to lose'
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You would, you would if this was a movie
Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You could, you could if you just said you're
sorry
I know that we could work it out somehow
But if this was a movie you'd be here by
now
If you're out there
If you're somewhere
If you're moving on
I've been waiting for you
Wary since you've been gone
I just want it back the way it was before
And I just wanna see you back at my front
door
And I say
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You would before you said it's not that
easy
Before the fight, before I locked you out
But I take it all back now
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You would, you would if this was a movie
Stand in the rain outside 'til I came out
Come back, come back, come back to me
like
You could, you could if you just said you're
sorry
I know that we could work it out somehow
But if this was a movie you'd be here by
now
You'd be here by now
It's not the kind of ending you wanna see
now

The Reoccuring Dream
Words and music by joni mitchell
This is the reoccurring dream
Born in the dreary gap between
What we have now
And what we wish we could have
More fulfilling--and less frustrating!
Out of the envy in our eyes
Look!
Glamorous picture people rise
Radiant!
Gleaming down from screens and pages
Ooh--glamour--before your very eyes!
Isnt it true--isnt it true?
Good question--i know--who cares
Look here they tell you
If you had this
If you had that
Latest styles and colors
If we had that for us mmmmm
Wouldnt it be fabulous
If you had that house, car, bottle, jar
Your lovers would look like movie stars
Movie stars, movie stars, movie stars
Order your youth secrets of the stars
Call now--just $9.99
Our discontent is their delight
They offer relief for the purchase price
Love in a bottle
Love on four wheels
Is that our new car charles?
Isnt it true--isnt it true?
We guarantee it--pick up your phone and dial
See here they sell you
If you had this
If you had that
I want a new truck!--more power!
If you use this shampoo
True love will come to you
If you had that house, car, bottle, jar
Your lovers would look like movie stars
Movie stars, movie stars, movie stars
Hollywoods greatest legends
Recognize this?
Dreamer
Soft sexy hair
Dream on
Hes going to love me in this ruby, ruby lipstick
Others will notice!--sexy!--who cares!
Recognize this?
Dreamer
Latest styles and colors
Oh, dream on, dream on, dream on
The fashion looks youve been hoping for
Sexy--sexy
Recognize this?
Dreamer
So special
Dream on
We will have happiness in heaven
The place you dreamed of retiring to--
Who cares
Recognize this?
Dreamer
I know that glamour is--sexy
Oh dream on dreamer
What could go wrong?
Dream on
Who cares!
Recognize this?
Dreamer
Im afraid I cant go below two million
Dream on
Life would be easy if I had that new appliance
Food processors for all of us
Who cares!
Recognize this?
Dreamer
There are lots of strings
Dream on
We can solve everything in science
Naturally
Science
Its a picture of how to get what you want out of life
Recognize this?
I love it
Dreamer
Isnt there some other way?
Who cares!

When I Was A Young Girl
(A Song of Old Ballads)
WHEN I was a young girl, all in a green arbor,
When I was a young girl in Springtimes gone by
All the long days I went singing and smiling,
Down by the roses the sweet days beguiling,
Love in the arbor and love in the sky . . .
When I was a young girl, a young girl, a young girl,
When I was a young girl, how happy was I!
Oh, the long days I must sit at my sampler,
Oh, the slow way that the still time would go!
I longed to be running across the bright heather,
'Off with the silk gown and on with the leather,
Following the raggle-taggle gypsies, oh!'
When I was a young girl, a young girl, a young girl,
When I was a young girl, a long time ago!
When I was a young girl in days that were golden,
When I was a young girl, and life had no smart,
All the world seemed a place for my playing,
Full of great lovers to come to me, saying,
'Madam, I give you the keys of my heart . . .'
When I was a young girl, a young girl, a young girl,
When I was a young girl, and dreaming apart!
When I was a young girl, I dreamed of my lover,
A tall cavalier who should whisper me low,
'Love, on your lips are red roses a-blowing,
I am your true love, and fast is time going
Am I your true love? Oh, say yes or no!'
When I was a young girl, a young girl, a young girl–
When I was a young girl, a long time ago!
When I was a young girl there came my true lover,
Swiftly I knew him in glad days gone by;
Never a sword or a lovelock or feather,
But oh, at his touch 'twas our hearts came together,
Love in the arbor and love in the sky . . .
When I was a young girl, a young girl, a young girl,
When I was a young girl, how happy was I!

The LOVE Bug
That wonder bug of love makes
the world go round and round
To search nonstop for lips
that see eye to eye til found,
Oh wonder bug your wings
waft the fire of desire’s call
It bites and rides the rolling stone
that dually gathers all.
Lovers love, bitten smitten
forget the moon above
The sign is flying nigh it’s
the white winged dove of love,
Wedding rings, knots and things
are tied to build a lovely house
Off to bed we lovers tread
as quite as a mouse,
The bug of love as made
our families’ so in love’n’ happy
For on the line we all fly
the flag of a baby’s lovely nappy
To end this happy tale with laughter,
..................................We really do live happily ever after.

Movie Memories
Holding hands at the movies
waiting for the lights to dim.
Anticipating the characters on the screen
but thinking of only him.
The one beside you, not on the screen.
His arm now on your shoulder.
You feel the length of his arm.
He becomes a little bit bolder.
You see the characters on the screen.
All are playing their part.
You forget the name of the movie
but not what's happening to your heart.
The lights come on all too soon
but not before he kisses you.
Great to be a teen-ager.
Sorry, the movie is through.

Legend of the Sea
Many years ago
A story was told to me
About a mighty Triton
And his Goddess of the sea
~~~~~~*****~~~~~~
Two sweethearts met upon the shore
Touching ~ holding hands
Speaking softly as they left
Their footprints in the sand
A kiss they shared ~ so tenderly
Love shone with golden light
Enraptured in the setting sun
Souls filled with sweet delight
Wind whispered low ~ to the surging tide
As it edged ~ ever so near
To join the lovers standing close
Not seeing the waves appear
With gentle flow ~ the cunning tide
Moved across the land
To capture the magic essence
Of love's spirit in the sand
The tide ~ it made a mighty surge
And pulled the lovers out to sea
As they held tightly to each other
Their love tossed ~ through eternity
Now through the years ~ a legend grew
About these lovers in the sand
And how the sea did claim them
For it desired their love so grand
On evening tide ~ so many say
If you walk down by the sea
You'll see the golden lovers
Frolicking ~ wild and free
It's said the sea was jealous
For a love that could not be
And the lovers became immortal
With the greatest love you'll ever see
Yes, he is the mighty Triton
She is his Goddess of the sea
And they will stay among the waves
In love ~ for eternity....
Left In The Dark
Your father took you
to see a Jeff Chandler movie
and you sat there
in the dark
eating popcorn
sharing some with him
and taking in
the cowboys
and guns
and imaging you
were up there
riding your imaginary horse
shooting your gun
along side the others
when your father got up
and went off
into the darkness
and so you continued
to watch the movie
giving no further thought
to where he'd gone
the john perhaps
or to buy some smokes
or get some air
and you just stayed
sitting there watching
when some young dame
came down
and said
your father’s had a choking fit
but he’s ok now
and you said
shame he’s missed the best bit
and she whispered
(her voice like Marilyn Monroe’s)
I don’t think he gives a shit
and the odd thing was
out of the blue
you said kind of shy
neither do I.
All In Green My Love Went Riding
All in green my love went riding, four lean hounds
crouched low and smiling; riding upon a great gold
horse into the silver dawn. She ventured far ahead, an amazon
princess, flanking four lean hounds; my love struck the path.
She wished to rid herself of me. All in green
my love kept riding, without me; into the silver dawn.
Till I heard the whine of a horse and the bark of the hounds.
I abandoned all caution, raced atop the high peaks
into the silver sawn, to find the Golden Horse
with no rider. Four lean hounds, crouched low and silent
Where a motionless figure lay on the path;
All in green, my heart fell dead before.
Still Around
Do you remember what you said to me the day I met you
Like yesterday I still can hear your voice, you promised to be
Still in my life no matter what you had to do to be there
Well, it's been a while and here we are lookin' back on times that we shared
I still imagine us being young and so in love
Never apart, you were my heart
Seems like it's always just been us
Chorus:
I remember we were in the park
Holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl
You would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around
Still around (yeah)
I still believe in all the things you said to me in those days
You gave me love and kept your word with every promise you made
I sing your favorite song inside my head when you're not with me
Until you come back home and take me in your arms and hold me
I can imagine us being old and still in love
Never apart, you are my heart
Makes me smile, we're still in love
I remember we were in the park
Holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl
You would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around
Looking back through all the years
(Man speaking):
Heh
You remember the first time I went to your house
And your father looked at me like I had three heads
(And I will never forget the day)
Heh
We were so in love
(Looking back through all the years)
You were so beautiful and so young
(And I will never forget the day you came into my life and what you said to me)
I can't believe you're still mine
That's crazy
I love you
I remember we were in the park (we were in the park)
Holding hands and you said to me (holding hands)
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete (and I would your life complete)
If I said I'd be your girl
You would stay with me forever (I'm still your girl)
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around (I'll never let you down, my baby)
I remember we were in the park
Holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl (said I'd be your girl and)
You would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around
Still around (yeah)
One Love
Sunshine, on the horizon
Over two young lovers, while its going down
Somewhere, the same sun rising
On another two lovers as the world goes around
Same scene, played over and over
Same sweet passion
Same warm blood
Softly speaking the universe language
So many lovers, one love
One love
Might make a difference
Might take the walls, and tear em down
One NIGHT might keep on shining
If we take one love and we spread it around
