The Knife
Can I explain this to you? Your eyes
are entrances the mouths of caves
I issue from wonderful interiors
upon a blessed sea and a fine day,
from inside these caves I look and dream.
Your hair explicable as a waterfall
in some black liquid cooled by legend
fell across my thought in a moment
became a garment I am naked without
lines drawn across through morning and evening.
And in your body each minute I died
moving your thigh could disinter me
from a grave in a distant city:
your breasts deserted by cloth, clothed in twilight
filled me with tears, sweet cups of flesh.
Yes, to touch two fingers made us worlds
stars, waters, promontories, chaos
swooning in elements without form or time
come down through long seas among sea marvels
embracing like survivors in our islands.
This I think happened to us together
though now no shadow of it flickers in your hands
your eyes look down on ordinary streets
If I talk to you I might be a bird
with a message, a dead man, a photograph.

Survivors And Inheritors
Caves, like palaces,
hotels, churches
(and shoes) ,
outlive their tenants.
Tigers came and filled the caves
with snarling and roaring.
After the atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima,
more than a hundred Japanese soldiers retreated here.
Most fell on their swords in accordance with custom,
grasping the hilts with both hands,
pulling and falling into an exploding sphere of pain.
The rest cut open their stomachs
and died more slowly, but just as surely.
Their flesh was eaten by tigers and dogs,
their bones mingled with those of prehistoric men
and the residue of earlier tiger feasts.
Thirty five years later, Buddhist monks came,
Japanese, Thai and Chinese,
and chanted mantras
for the salvation and reorientation
of the Japanese spirits,
who returned to Japan.
The earthly elements they left behind
were collected by the Japanese Embassy
(who also took the swords) .
The caves were cleaned.
The tigers stopped coming.
Like deserted Indian Temples,
the caves were left to monkeys,
who jabbered and squabbled
with the sounds of enraged chickens.
Dun, as a boy, came here with his friends,
when they were bored with fishing,
to fight the monkeys for their territory.
Now the worn limestone caverns
are empty, silent, echoing,
teeming with images in parallel worlds,
waiting for the next arrivals.
Tonight one old monkey
sits motionless.

Earth Again
They are incomprehensible, the things of this earth.
The lure of waters. The lure of fruits.
Lure of two breasts and the long hair of a maiden.
In rouge, in vermillion, in that color of ponds
Found only in the Green Lakes near Wilno.
An ungraspable multitudes swarm, come together
In the crinkles of tree bark, in the telescope's eye,
For an endless wedding,
For the kindling of eyes, for a sweet dance
In the elements of air, sea, earth, and subterranean caves,
So that for a short moment there is no death
And time does not unreel like a skein of yarn
Thrown into an abyss.

The Death Of A Beloved
there is your dear cdead one there
at home
his or her photograph ıs stuck
somewhere in an esteemed corner
you look at it
without seeing it in sorrows
when they talk about your dead one
your heart hurts and deeply aches
secretly and silently
some tears on youyr eyes
at first
like all the other dead ones
yıur dear dead one
haunts the house at night
this lingers on for months till morning
and now..sometimes
sometime
it appears n unexpected moments
mostly when you feel terribly lonely
there is your dear dead one over there
at first
the empty place it has left
in your bed behind
is exteremely grieving
and then..as time goes by
the mourning ages
with the wearing off sheets
and like
aged..precious wine
it is tasted sometimes
in just one small cup
there is your dead one
in the twilight
lıke all the other dead ones
it is more closer to you
but seen more unclear
unclearly visible
there is yoıur dead one over there
in faCT
it is lying in the grave
itys flesh not wholly decayed yet
its hands and feet moving a bit
ı knelt down and looked at the soil
ı looked at the grass
ı looked at the beetles
ı looked at the flowers blue blooming
you looked like the spring soil my beloved
ı gazed at you admiring
then ı lay down
my back on the ground
ı see the sky above
ı see the limbs of the trees
ı see the flyıng storks
ı see dreams awake my eyes open
you also look like the sky of the season spring
there
ı see you my beloved
at night
ı lit a fire in the wilderness
ı touch the fire
ı touch the water
ı touch the cloth
ı touch the silver
you lok like the fire
lit under the stars
ı touch you
ı am among the human beings
ı like the human beings
ı like the movements
ı like the thoughts
ı lişke my struggles
ı like all the struggles aimed for goodness
and you
you are a human being in the season spring
my beloved
ı still love you

Sea Caves
Your garlic and sage roses
Your half moon sea
The waters rise like an oak tree
Boughs of pure crystal joy
Blue gray soul of seraphim eyes
Now the sea showers the shore
I am the hidden man
Golden treasures in caves
I hear the tide go in and out
We search for real dreams
Islands maroon the heart
Protons and neutrons in balance
Man asleep waiting to see her eyes
Woman knowing she is love
These kelp shores wait for you
I long to hold you in the moonlight
Your smile silent as morning
Seagulls soar with freedom
All the walls have crumbled
We share the serene stars of peace
Mystic warm waters surround
Topaz blended with sapphire
Violet touch amidst lime green
Clouds sigh like satin prose
These sea caves fill with your love

Symposium
We still wanted to talk and philosophise
over that which happened,
was coming and was occurring right now
and learn something from it
but my words disappeared
while a rain storm
was unfolding outside
and thunderbolts
draw blue-white lines
with long fingers
and inside
between the rumbling
of voices
I heard a blowfly
going around and around
caught in its own orbit
where there were coffee cups
that where not taken
l’Envoi
and then I thought
what does man really know
and is our time here
not also measured out
till a set day, hour,
minute and second
and while we think that we know
we stray blindly
about on this planet
and in the sky
I heard the works
from the hands
of the almighty Lord resound
before the first drops of rain
fell refreshing to the ground.

What They Say
they say what is it that i have seen
your eyes are too ordinary
but i see them as warm suns
rising with time for my lonely morning
they say your lips are like any other mortal lips
but no, they are the luscious sacred flesh
too sweet too ripe for my tasting
my tongue always dream about fibers
and flesh and dripping drops of juice
they say your are just one mortal walking
on the common streets of this village
but no, you're so divine, a goddess,
a progeny of light descending
from the glory of the heavens
to the profanity of my distant world
they say i belong to the genealogy of the gods
and i must not defy the law that gives justice to our kind
but no, i love you, and i am descending from this throne
i now sleep on the grass, naked without my crown
disrobed, undressed, i am alone now, away from them,
they that mock me, i am alone now, long waiting for you.
how can you be so unkind? you send the message
you are not finally coming to be with me.

When Once the Twilight Locks No Longer
When once the twilight locks no longer
Locked in the long worm of my finger
Nor damned the sea that sped about my fist,
The mouth of time sucked, like a sponge,
The milky acid on each hinge,
And swallowed dry the waters of the breast.
When the galactic sea was sucked
And all the dry seabed unlocked,
I sent my creature scouting on the globe,
That globe itself of hair and bone
That, sewn to me by nerve and brain,
Had stringed my flask of matter to his rib.
My fuses are timed to charge his heart,
He blew like powder to the light
And held a little sabbath with the sun,
But when the stars, assuming shape,
Drew in his eyes the straws of sleep
He drowned his father's magics in a dream.
All issue armoured, of the grave,
The redhaired cancer still alive,
The cataracted eyes that filmed their cloth;
Some dead undid their bushy jaws,
And bags of blood let out their flies;
He had by heart the Christ-cross-row of death.
Sleep navigates the tides of time;
The dry Sargasso of the tomb
Gives up its dead to such a working sea;
And sleep rolls mute above the beds
Where fishes' food is fed the shades
Who periscope through flowers to the sky.
When once the twilight screws were turned,
And mother milk was stiff as sand,
I sent my own ambassador to light;
By trick or chance he fell asleep
And conjured up a carcass shape
To rob me of my fluids in his heart.
Awake, my sleeper, to the sun,
A worker in the morning town,
And leave the poppied pickthank where he lies;
The fences of the light are down,
All but the briskest riders thrown
And worlds hang on the trees.

The Naked Body In The River
i put you in the river
naked,
perfect body for my
feast at night till dawn
and then i sleep in
the morning
too tired
these loving eyes
still dead about you
someone beyond
the touch of my fingers
naked body
so beautiful but
it has no eyes
and hence
cannot see me.

Discordants
I
Music I heard with you was more than music,
And bread I broke with you was more than bread.
Now that I am without you, all is desolate,
All that was once so beautiful is dead.
Your hands once touched this table and this silver,
And I have seen your fingers hold this glass.
These things do not remember you, beloved:
And yet your touch upon them will not pass.
For it was in my heart you moved among them,
And blessed them with your hands and with your eyes.
And in my heart they will remember always:
They knew you once, O beautiful and wise!
II
My heart has become as hard as a city street:
The horses trample upon it, it sings like iron;
All day long and all night long they beat—
They ring like the hoofs of time.
My heart has become as drab as a city park:
The grass is worn with the feet of shameless lovers,
A match is struck, there is kissing in the dark,
The moon comes, pale with sleep.
My heart is torn with the sound of raucous voices,
They shout from the slums, from the streets, from the crowded places;
And tunes from a hurdy-gurdy that coldly rejoices
Shoot arrows into my heart …
O my belovèd, sleeping so far from me,
Walking alone in sunlight, or in blue moonlight,
Are you alive there, far across that sea?—
Or were you only a dream?
III
Vermilioned mouth, tired with many kisses,
Eyes, that have lighted for so many eyes,
Are you not wearied yet with countless lovers,
Desirous now to take even me for prize?
Draw not my glance, nor set my sick heart beating,
Body so stripped, for all your silks and lace!
Do not reach out pale hands to me, seductive,
Nor slant sly eyes, O subtly smiling face!
For I am drawn to you, like wind I follow,
Like a warm amorous wind; though I desire
Even in dream to keep one face before me—
One face like fire, and holier than fire.
.............................................
I walk beneath these trees, and in this darkness
Muse beyond seas of her from whom I came,
While you, with cat-like step, steal close beside me,
Spreading your perfume round me like soft flame.
Ah! should I once stoop face and forehead to you,
Into and through your sweetness, a night like this,
In the lime-blossomed darkness feel your bosom,
Warm and so soft, and find your lips to kiss,
And tear at your strange flesh with crazy fingers,
And drink with mouth gone mad your eyes’ wild wine,
And cleave to you, body with breathless body,
Till bestial were exalted to divine —
Would I again, O lamia silked and scented,
Out of the slumberous magic of your eyes,
And your narcotic perfume, soft and febrile,
Have the romantic hardihood to rise,
And set my heart across great seas of distance
With love unsullied for her from whom I came?…
With cat-like step you steal beside me, past me,
Leaving your perfume round me like soft flame.

Dead Cleopatra lies in a crystal casket,
Wrapped and spiced by the cunningest of hands.
Around her neck they have put a golden necklace,
Her tatbebs, it is said, are worn with sands.
Dead Cleopatra was once revered in Egypt—
Warm-eyed she was, this princess of the south.
Now she is very old and dry and faded,
With black bitumen they have sealed up her mouth.
Grave-robbers pulled the gold rings from her fingers,
Despite the holy symbols across her breast;
They scared the bats that quietly whirled above her.
Poor lady! she would have been long since at rest
If she had not been wrapped and spiced so shrewdly,
Preserved, obscene, to mock black flights of years.
What would her lover have said, had he foreseen it?
Had he been moved to ecstasy, or tears?
O sweet clean earth from whom the green blade cometh!—
When we are dead, my best-beloved and I,
Close well above us that we may rest forever,
Sending up grass and blossoms to the sky.
V
In the noisy street,
Where the sifted sunlight yellows the pallid faces,
Sudden I close my eyes, and on my eyelids
Feel from the far-off sea a cool faint spray,
A breath on my cheek,
From the tumbling breakers and foam, the hard sand shattered;
Gulls in the high wind whistling, flashing waters,
Smoke from the flashing waters blown on rocks.
And I know once more,
O dearly belovèd, that all these seas are between us—
Tumult and madness, desolate save for the sea-gulls;
You on the farther shore, and I in this street.

Near Yet So Far Away
you are just a breath
away from my
face. My fingers want
to jump off
my hands to
run over you
and indulge
in the lust of touch
and caress
my tongue wants
to run away
with your lips
my thigh
trembles beside
your hands
you are so near
yet
something holds
me away from you
(how can i
ever explain it?)
as i take
a glance, for the last
time at you
beside the glass window
of the car
i finally look down
and wish that
i kiss your feet
(i am in a
quandary between
shame and
satiation)
so near and
yet so far, i close
my eyes
and travel
inside my veins
my blood pumps
up and says
be good
take care as i leave
you are so
far now,
at the end,
at a certain edge
even the hands of my dreams
shy away
to hold and kiss
your shadow

Monday Morning On The Bus
Mona sits on the school bus,
the noise of the other children
seems far away, she is indulging
in her thoughts. Lisa will get
on the bus soon. Her closeness
again. Sitting just here. Next to
me, Mona muses, patting the
seat next to her. The evening
before they had parted after
the tea. The bedroom romp
had filled her up. Each moment
seems to relive in her mind.
She looks out of the window,
passing countryside, cows in
fields, trees, birds. They had
almost drowned in the downpour
of rain from the woods to the
house the afternoon before.
Drenched to the skin. Get out
of those wet clothes, they had
been told by a parent. And they
did so. That started it all off.
Naked and drying. How had it
got that far? She thinks, watching
a girl on the other side of the
aisle of the bus talk about
watching such and such on TV.
She wonders how Lisa feels now.
The day after. After such things,
such sights, such deeds. The bus
draws to a stop. Others get on.
Lisa comes up the aisle and sits
beside her. She smiles and fiddles
with her school bag. Her fingers
nervous, like spiders on the run.
Sleep all right? Mona asks. Yes,
Lisa answers. Their eyes meet.
Mona feels a thump in her breast;
her heart seems to want to burst
open. Lisa leans closer. Dreamt of
you, she whispers. Did you? Mona
says, taking in Lisa lips moving, her
eyes, the nose. Lisa nods. Looks
around her. The bus moves on.
Mona wants to speak but her
mouth seems sealed. Lisa turns
again and looks at her. Seems
strange now seeing her clothed
after the nakedness and kissing
and holding. Lisa puts her hand
over Mona's, squeezes, touches,
flesh on flesh. Mona breathes
in deeply. The touch, the feel
of her. She thinks of the last kiss
the night before. Not now of
course. Not with others about.
Not here. They seem in a different
world to the others. Adrift on
their own ship, wild seas. Waves
of passion inside. They look away
each to a different horizon. Love
locked. Hands touching, skin on
skin. Father O'Brien would call it sin.

We walked into distant mirage
Somewhere on a unfrequented beach
you and I alone left tracks
and walked into the distant mirage
to find a new tomorrow for us.
Our fingers twined through each others
and your shadow
became part of mine
as if from the beginning
we were meant to be one in love.
From then on
there was no pulling away for us
and like two antelope
we were always side-by-side
and just sometimes
the one leading the other.
Between islands we found a place
with a chalet
where the water makes a lagoon,
a small narrow beach touches the ocean
and a waterfall rushed down a brown black cliff.
Bees turned like swishing angels
around and around
wild fruit, berries and flowers
and we built a bonfire
and with the dwindling sun
still held each other’s hands.
There were sparks
drawing long lines in the dark
and I threw dark red
JC Le Roux champagne
for you in a long glass
which we touched
like bells and your eyes
sparkled like fireflies
and we invited the stars
and a golden moon as friends
and threw all our worries
and all the things
of the old world away.

Dead In The Wombs
those same children
who died in the waters
that swallowed Atlantis....
those same children,
starving 'neath Africa's sun....
dead from the bombings
in Iraq, Afghanistan, and soon Iran....
their bodies thrown into dumpsters
here in the United States....
dead on the borders,
dead in the oil filled waters,
dead on the cocaine streets,
dead in the prisons...
dead in the colleges,
dead in the unemployment lines....
dead on the picket lines,
dead, handcuffed, and beaten....
dying, and dead, world crazy spinning...
as the 'light of the world'
sputters, and goes out....
dead in the wombs of the
homeless, hopeless, and forgotten...
dead by our hands!

What is it all about
We try to talk about many things
Petty and not so vulgar
We try to overwhelm ourselves
With so much words as I choose
What to put to make you marvel
And you pretend you marvel
That I make sense, but in truth
That is not the point of this meeting
Of two souls, it is the meeting of bodies
Of two bodies, needing each other’s warmth
And wrath, as I tell you about something
Interesting, you know that I am just
Pretending, my eyes are looking at every
Corner of your skin, the tip of your fingers
Wanting to touch me, too,
The softness of your body, the lines in
Your curvatures, swaying towards
My lips, I stop, I kneel before your
Gentleness, as you close your eyes
As you hold my hair, as you caress
My neck, my arms, my chest and you
Have sympathies for my gentleness
My humiliation, you ask me with the
Signal of your hands, and eyes, and
Lips that I rise up
To kiss you, it is all about it, and
We have no chance saying words
Again, we breathe each other’s longings
We fill our mutual emptiness, like we
Are all cups now filled with air.

Beneath the Blue.
You both walked along
the narrow country lane
to the small church
and lay in the overgrown grass
in the churchyard
looking up
at the summer sky
and Jane said
It's so peaceful here
I feel as if part of me
were mixed
with the whole
of nature
you listened to her
looking at her
sideways on
seeing her profile
laying amidst
the green grass
her head facing
the blueness of sky
her hands resting
upon her breasts
with one leg straight
the other lifted upwards
with the knee bent
Do you feel that?
she asked
looking at you side wards
her eyes leaving the sky
and resting on you
Yes
you replied
but not thinking
of what she had
but of the beauty of her
and you being there
and taking note
of her eyes and hair
and moving lips
and hands at rest
and her soft youthful breast
and that glimpse
of thigh capturing
your eye
Yes
you repeated
I feel a part of that
feel almost drowned
in its beauty
and she turned
and you saw her smile
and heard birdsong
and felt the sun on skin
and the saw the expanse
of sky and clouds
white chariots moving
across the blue
and wanted that moment
for always and forever
and you reached out a hand
and touched her shoulder
and would had touched
and felt her more
had you been bolder
and she said
We lay here with the dead
but our bones and flesh
are filled with life and love
unlike theirs
wasted away
Yes
you whispered
feeling her bones
beneath the flesh
Just like us some day.

Be A Nice Baby Boy
Mom`s eyes was looking strange
Something was so cruel in her eyes
Mom made baby sleep
She whispered Hush now baby baby don`t you cry
Baby was boy he was staring at mom`s face and hands (breasts) with his black circle eyes
He was full of an unknown feeling
He didn`t know what was that but he knew it was
Moving inside his body
And looking his mom made it awaked
Baby felt a pleasure
Mom was clothing a white dress
She was a nurse
She knew all the medicines effects very well
She gave baby some sweet liquid
At once he fell into a so deepest asleep
Boy got up
It was 12 p.m.
He rush to the bathroom
Look at his eyes on the mirror
He open his eyes with trouble
He feels his head and eyes are so heavy
He spends all his time sleeping in the bed like a child
He is angry because he is always late
All the day he feels sleepy even when he get up from the sleeping
He is even tired when he is spending time with his girlfriend
His problem is that he feels senseless, tired and angry
I see night mares all the time
I take too much sleep I should go to the doctor
Mom asks: where are you going baby?
Boy says: mom I am not a child any more you are frustrating me with your questions and I am so tired
'You are always my baby,
I don`t know what`s going to my child,
This world is making him apart from me,
I think he is captured by a devil`s power,
He always wants to keep his room`s door closed,
He is going to make something hidden from my eye,
He talks to a girl through the phone,
But he is clean,
He helps to every people that never get to know,
He is so kind sympathized'.
Mom makes some mixed of pills
Solve it into a liquid:
I`m protecting you my son, '
You are only a child you can not protect from yourself,
I am making life more safe for you,
These pills will sleep some one for 24 hours,
Doctor gave them to the mothers after giving a birth,
For feeling less pain and sleep,
I will give it to you for sleeping and making the time of your day short,
You will not be suffered any more with visiting a girl and making conversation with her,
You will sleep all the day,
You will dream of making love,
Your feeling will be satisfied during your dream,
Just like the first time'
Mom is sitting near her son looking at him,
Touching his body caress his face
He is deeply sleeping
Mom whispers: Hush now baby baby don`t you cry
Be clean and healthy
Keep sleeping here
I love you.

Fire Air Water
Fire air water: the primitive deities in their snakish humor
Blessed you with beauty-
What a horrible solitary beauty they blessed you with;
And cursed the men in touch with you with the lust of flies.
Fire air water: the primitive deities in their punning humor
Pour passion on me to produce poetry:
As though I am fire air water too,
As though I am producing you,
As though your face is not blood, nor flesh, nor lust
But a nightly deodar island;
A desolate distant bluish island;
Nevertheless you are being used by the vulgar hands
And being dissolved across the earth of soil;
And I am being dissolved amid the shadow of stars over the distant island.
Fire air water: the primitive deities in their kaleidoscopic humor
Keep on spreading the seed of beauty,
The seed of dream on earth.
I ponder with surprise,
Where are you tonight?
Why can't beauty recognize the shadow of the stars over the solitary deodar island-
The beauty of that lady of the earth?
By the vulgar hands her beauty is being used- used- used- used- used-
Being used- used-
Fire air water: the primitive deities burst into laughter 'ho ho'
'Being used again and again and turning into pork? Ho ho'
'Ho ho ho' my troubled heart burst into laughter too! -
Amid this terrible laughter all around, the dark sea seemed to bloom
With a dead body of the enormous whale of darkness;
All the beauty of the universe stinks like the dead body of the enormous whale of darkness,
Wherever I go, among the comets over those seas and oceans
How normal, how natural!

Shadows
Let me reach out love and touch you
Let me hold you for awhile
Ive been all around the world
Oh how I long to see you smile
Theres a shadow on the moon
And the waters here below
Do not shine the way they should
And I love you just in case you didnt know
Let it go,
Let it happen like it happened once before
Its a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door
Wont you lie down by me baby
Run your fingers through my hands
Ive been all around the town
And still I do not understand
Is it me or is it you
Or the shadow of a dream
Is it wrong to be in love
Could it be the finest love Ive ever seen
Set it free,
Let it happen like it happened once before
Its a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door
Please kiss me gently darlin
Where the river runs away
From the mountains in the springtime
On a blue and windy day
When theres beauty all around
As the shades of night grow deep
As the morning stars grow dim
They will find us in the shadows fast asleep
Let it go,
Let it happen like it happened once before
Its a wicked wind
And it chills me to the bone
And if you do not believe me
Come and gaze upon the shadow at your door

Numberless Dreams
Wonderful beauty
The curve of her neck
The fullness of her lips
The way her eyes cast
fervent glances
Her hair freshly disheveled
Her furtive smile
The curve from her waist
down to her hips
The fullness of her breasts
The way her legs flash when they move
Her skin flushed. Her body fervid
Reverent hands
Every time he touched her
was like the first time
His hands trembled,
yet moved with purpose
over her body;
gently pushin', pullin'
Her response urgent, ardent
Numberless dreams
Once I lived my dreams
Now I dream my life
I dream of you muse
Each night I hope
you will fill my sleep
with numberless dreams
of your wonderful beauty
and my reverent hands
tremblin' as they touch you
