The Thracian Stone

'The faieries gave him the propertie of the Thracian stone; for who toucheth it is exempted from griefe.'
The fairies to his cradle came to play their fairy part,
Their footsteps like the laughter of a leaf;
They touched him with the Thracian stone that setteth free the heart
—O dream-enchanted, singing heart!—forever free from grief.
The wind it could not blow a way that failed to please him well;
Beyond the rain he saw the March skies blue
With hope of April violets; he cast his fairy spell
Over our flawed and tarnished world, creating all things new.
He bore the burden of his day, the burden and the heat,
As blithely as a seagull breasts the gale,
Glorying that God should trust his strength. The color of ripe wheat
Was on his life when it was flung beneath pain's threshing-flail.
He fronted that grim challenge like some resplendent knight
Who rides against foul foes of fen and wood;
With ringing song of onset, his spirit, hero bright,
Went tilting with a sunbeam against the dragon brood.
Then dusky shapes stole on him, Queen of the Quaking Isle,
Queens of the Land of Longing and the Waste;
He bowed him to their bidding with a secret in his smile;
He quaffed their bitter cups that left ambrosia on the taste.
Last came the King of Terrors, and lo! his iron crown
Had twinkled to a silver fairy-cap;
Like two old friends they took the road to Love-and-Beauty town,
That's here and there and everywhere on all the starry map.

Why Not?

Why can't the blue note cry
and waste all its dreams away
like the mass of flesh around me
who hope and hope and forever
keep on hoping

Why can't the gray sky smile
and lift itself just a little higher
to touch the warm yellow happiness
where no human can go beyond
except to dream

Why can't the lone wolf dance
with fairy wings stretched out
and legs kicking up a merry tune
that rides around the sky
like a butterfly

Why can't the one dropp rain
to pour out a fury of its own
and cover the land in wet grief
where green things grow tall
just to fall

Why can't the shadow man laugh
and grab onto the coattails of a king
who just wants to play house
with the little village children
who think fairytales

I Try To Think Why Her Answer Always Ends In A No

May be she is trapped inside a water droplet
Resting on a green leaf
Of a rose plant
in the eden garden

The garden has a fairy
the fairy has a curse
the curse has a name
the name has a price

There are witches in the story
The witches are very bad
They rob the the flowers of smell
And kill the fairy’s smile

One day, a little boy
with a little heart
and two teddy bears
walks along that way

He kisses and walk -
The jasmine and the daisies
The lilac and the lilies
The roses and the fairies.

The rose has a name
It holds a dropp of love
The kiss is a game
Pushes the dropp of love

The lady in the droplet
Falls down the leaves
The boy leaps down
To hold it before breaks

The droplet breaks
The water splinters
the boy drops his heart
and break it into pieces

The girl is freed
The boy is dying
The girl does cry
The boy does smile

The fairy is sad
The witches are mad
The fairies are hot
The witches are not

The flowers smell beautiful
The fairy can smile
The curse is broken
The price has been paid

The battle is set,
The flowers decide to bet
The fairies will rollover
But witches are no pushover.

The fight is fought
The witches are lost
The fairies win
And everybody grins

The boy is dead
With a broken heart
The fairies believe
They can bring him back

The fairies promise
About magic and sorcery
The life is simple
We can buy again like grocery

The shopping is a trap
You buy one
You get one free.
Here the witches are free

The girl is trapped
Between pain and love
She things again
And decides its a no

Fanciful Dream

I left my love in the Fairy Glen
Home of the litte fairy men
I met her there on a July night
When a Summer moon was beaming bright.

For my love was the Fairy Queen
In Fairyland she reign supreme
She wore a glittering diamond cloak
Queen of the little fairy folk.

Though the night was bright it was bright as day
In a wooded vale I lost my way
Then I sat me down by a tall oak tree
And the Fairy Queen she came to me.

I gazed upon this fairy small
She stood scarcely more than two foot tall
Tiny shoes covered her tiny feet
And she bowed towards me in a fairy greet

Her pretty little face showed no trace of woe
And her hair was white as new fallen snow
And her eyes were sparkling bright and brown
And on her head she wore a tiny crown.

Then she smiled at me and this did say
You're in Fairyland you have lost your way
Sorry to disturb you from your rest
Come along with me and be my guest.

Then she led me to the fairy ball
To a fairy dance in a fairy hall
All the fairy folk were dancing there
And fairy music filled the air.

But when we stepped inside the fairy dance hall door
A hushed silence fell across the floor
Fairy men and women scarce one third my size
All looked up at me with fear in their eyes.

But their Queen she spoke to them and said
Of this gentle giant you need hold no dread
I met him in the oak tree shade
Into Fairyland he has somehow strayed.

Then the fairy band started playing anew
And the fairy folk started dancing too
Round and round the dance floor they did wheel
To the haunting sound of a fairy reel.

I have never seen people quite so gay
As these little fairies in their bright array
These happy folk did laugh and sing
As they danced around in a fairy ring.

Then I left the ball with the Fairy Queen
And we strolled the banks of a moonlit stream
I stooped to kiss her but she was gone
And by the moonlit stream I stood alone.

The alarm clock rang and I awoke
And my spell of fantasy was broke
I awoke to a World of reality
From a Fairyland of fantasy.

Fairy Tale (age 14)

'Above the shadow is the moon no further then the sun
As I sit under the big willow hoping a Fairy Tale has begun
Giant stars flutter through the sky as graceful as a dove
Hoping the everlasting Elf will find his true love

The wind shoves the Fairy dust around making it a sparkly night
As I fall in love with the Elf and his everlasting life
The sweet falling rain collides on us again
As our lips touch so softly making a Fairy Tale begin

But all the Fairies wonder refusing our desire
Judging every step we take putting out our fire
We will fade from this dark magic this sprinkle in the sky
As we swear upon each other to love until we die

Forgetting the world around me leaving without a trace
I’d do anything to keep the silky motions of your face
The velvet rose brings out the softness in your skin
I want you to hold me forever as we whisper to the wind

Forever is forever with a twinkle in the eye
Hoping the Fairy Tale we made will never ever die
The green leaves and white lilies rush down the falls
We are free from all the thorns and the tall rock walls

Beneath the moon is where the Fairy Tale began
Flying in the air freely hand in hand
Love of silver fire shimmers in our eyes
For the world of free affection is where the Fairy Tale truly lies! '

Sorry, O Little Fairy!

O fairy! O fairy! O little fairy!
I extremely feel grief and sorry;
You so heartily gave me the invitation;
I could not attend your celebration.

To come to you I’d the leisure although,
The circumstance did not allow;
I’ve ne'er seen you nor e'er met;
From someone about you heard a lot.

About your mischiefs like a fawn you do,
About your blossom-like smile-
About your tears like the pearl;
And the heart-attracting innocence of you.
Now in heart a wish and on lips a prayer,
O little fairy! I may see you soon somewhere

don’t get lost in the lavender sky
shake all the stars from your hair
taste your sweet, salty, bitter skin
cut the poison from your tongue
don’t sleep beneath the candy acid sun
please don’t follow the fairy dust

Don’t sleep to heavy in your cherry blossom bed
peel the razor peddles from your skin
don’t get lost in the fairy dust
don’t look at the fairy
don’t look at the fairy
that fairies not pretty
she's ugly, evil and deadly
are you still dying
are you still dying

Peddle red peddle blue, kill the fairy end the doom
peddle red peddle blue, the girl power will save you
peddle red peddle blue, if your crazy then so am I

Little Fairy

Little Fairy,
Shine so bright.
Little Fairy,
Show your light.

Little Fairy,
I’m amazed.
Little Fairy,
You seem to blaze.

Little Fairy,
I love your allure.
Little fairy,
You are so pure.

Little fairy,
In case you flee,
Little fairy,
First shine on me.

Mystical Meadows

In a land of magic where dragon flies are kings
Fairy Meadows
where peace and tranquillity reign
How I wish I could be
The one chosen to receive my wings
Flowers of all colours
Harvested for their sweet nectars
Sprinkled fairy dust to enhance beauty
Glistening in the sun light
My bright petal shift still fresh
How I wish to stay here forever
All wings flapping gently
Hurrying to finish their chores before the gathering
This enchanting world of peace and harmony
Soon all will be summoned
Be wildered at all the different fairies I have ever seen
Then came the sound of the gentle trumpeting
All is to gather in the clearing
Sprinkled fairy dust and merry making
Offerings to the ancient trees
Which housed, many fairy families
A source of energy to this mystical world
All fairies bowing
To the royal family of this enchanted meadows
Speeches from the crowned prince and nobleman
Someone is to be granted a pair of wings
Excited whispers as to whom and for the one unknown
Early to rise next morning
Stretching arm my wings unfolding
Dew drops shimmering in the first rays of sunlight
Home is Fairy Meadows
A place of beauty and magic
Where peace and tranquillity reign

A Song Of Faries

Flitter flutter here and there
Flying high up in the air
Fairy dust is just so fragile
And the fairies flying are all so agile
And sparkles in the sun
Oh looking for fairies is so much fun
Under some rocks or under a pot
Flying around a twisted vine knot
Under the tree is where the fun begins
all of our faces bearing grins
That’s me and my fairy friends

They lead me to the river they lead me to its spring
The lead to their castle to see the fairy king
Its pearly white with lots of land
Wow this place is very grand
I hop inside to take a peek
Me and the fairies play hide and seek

That night I share a bedroom with a little girl called sky
I like her lots ‘cause she’s my friend even if she’s shy
The sun shines through my window bright as bright can be
I hop out of bed with a big sigh of glee
Because today’s the day when I go home
To where I live back in Italy, Rome

I wave goodbye to my fairy friends
And tie together all loose ends
So goodbye fairies I’ll visit you soon
In the dead of night under the misty moon

To A Child

(Rosamund.)

The fairies have been busy while you slept;
They have been laughing where the sad rain wept,
They have taught Beauty to the ignorant flowers,
Set tasks of hope to weary wind-torn bowers,
And heard the lessons learned in school-rooms cold
By seedling snapdragon and marigold.
At dawn, while still you slept, I grew aware
How good the fairies are, how many and fair.

The fairy whose delightful gown is red
Across a corner of our garden sped,
And, where her flying raiment fluttered past,
Its roseate reflection still is cast:
Red poppies by the rhododendron's side,
Paeonies gorgeous in their summer pride,
And red may-bushes by the old red wall
Shower down their crimson petals over all.

Then she whose gown is gold, and gold her hair,
Swept down the golden steep straight sunbeam-stair,
She lit the tulip-lamps, she lit the torch
Of hollyhock beside the cottage porch.
She dressed the honeysuckle in fringe of gold,
She gave the king-cups fairy wealth to hold,
She kissed St. John's wort till it opened wide,
She set the yarrow by the river side.

Then came the lady all whose robes are white:
She made the pale buds blossom in delight,
Set silver stars upon the jasmine's hair,
And gave the stream white lily-buds to wear.
She painted lilies white, and pearl-white phlox,
White poppies, passion-flowers and gray-leaved stocks.
Her pure kind touch redeemed the most forlorn,
And even the vile petunia smiled, new-born.

The dearest fairy of all--green is her gown--
She kissed the plane-trees in the tiresome town,
She smoothed the pastures and the lawn's pale sheen,
She decked the boughs with hangings fresh and green,
She showed each flower the one and only way
Its beauty of shape and colour to display;
She taught the world to be a Paradise
Of changing leaf and blade, for tired eyes.

Then, one and all, they came where you were laid
In your strait bed, my little lovely maid;
The red-robed fairy kissed your lips, your face,
The white-robed made your heart her dwelling-place.
Into your eyes the green robed fairy smiled;
The golden fairy touched your dreams, my child,
And one, not named, but mightiest, made my Dear
The innermost rose of the re-flowered year.

(Freedom poems) Fairy child

Fairy child
You child of a god
Fairy child
You have given
up your freedom
Fairy
Fairy child
And now you roam
our world free
Fairy child
because
you know no borders
and your education
Ain't enough fairy child
So you cross borders
to disrespect international
Treaties
You're wanted by INTERPOL
(Can you spell that out loud?)
and the host of
The international agencies
you fairy child
You will know forwards
Fairy child
That the world serves
the interests of one
Super state
When the sanctions
begin to bite fairy child
You will cry like your
Fairy mama fairy
Because here there's
the scarcity
of the sanctions busters
Fairy child
You better go away fairy child
And find yourself
A love mate in Tokyo
Fairy child
'Cause in Tel Aviv
They hunt down the black
infiltrators
Yes they do fairy child
'cause they fear the black brothers
'cause they and the Israelis
Share the same black ancestor fairy child
You better run my brother
And fall in love and marry yourself
off to a Ethiop woman
To get a alien citizenship fairy child
'Cause as stateless as you are now
You're a sitting duck
For INTERPOL and Scotland Yard
Fairy child
Say nothing in Guantanamo Bay
Fairy child
When they come to interrogate
you fairy child
Fairy child fairy child
You child of a god
I warned you my brother
The laws of the brother Humanity
are harsh my man
Now you're sitting there and
all your life you've been
Apolitical fairy child
Now you're sitting with the politicals
Waiting for the interrogator
To interrogate you
For the politics of power
You know the science of which not
It's cold on the Cuban island prison
Fairy child
You chew on your blues
And you even miss the gilded
gates of the flames of hell

Don't let me down
Don't let me beg for
an ounce of your love
Give me what I want
I want to be loved with
a difference by a god
Do you hear me fairy lover?
It must be your love
My divine being
I am after your strange
unusual love when allowed
Hear me say to you
Let me bend down
Allow me once again
to mend your broken wing
My love is the herb
To nurse your fairy heart
With my kiss divine fairy
You have broken through the
cordon of your fairy shyness
Release me fairy boy
To love you with selfless
free spirited abandon
Don't constrict my love

Wishes To The Blue Fairy

As The Star twinkles in the dark night sky,
The Moon So bright,
The Star my Mother used to say,
Was the Blue Fairy.
The Blue Fairy who when wished upon,
Would wave the magic wand,
To make it come true.

So Tonight
Under the darkened Sky,
I wished Upon the Blue Fairy.
I asked for the worlds Happiness,
I asked for the strength to carry on.
I asked for my families health,
I wished for everyones smiles.

I made that wish to the Blue Fairy.
I made the wish for you.
I made the wish for all of us,
In hope that it would come true.

I saw that Blue Fairy.
She stood so tall.

But as my wishes fade,
The Fairy,
Became the star my mother always told me was the Blue Fairy.

Folklore for Children (1) and (2)

(1)

Won't you listen in my garden
to the tapping dancing feet
and the singing of the fairies
playing violins so sweet?

Won't you listen to the pixies
and the fairy queen's refrain,
songs of romance, songs of folklore
or do the fairies sing in vain?

Come and join these mystic beings
with pretty wings of fairest hue
delightful elves and friendly fairies
will sing and dance each day for you.

(2)

Down in yonder Elfin Park
Fairies play upon the swing.
Mother nature makes her mark
Saying 'au revoir' to spring.

Summertime is entering in
Fairy Queen begins to sing
No longer dark in Elfin Park
Sunbeams light the fairy ring.

Pretty Queen has lost her heart
True love to her is everything
And if we walk through Elfin Park
Bells will surely 'ting-a-ling'.

The timid fairy girl

That little timid fairy girl
What a woman, she will be
But she is just a picture
With a person underneath
Trapped inside an image
Of radiance and beauty
She is deprived of youth
She wants to be free
Her father and her mother
She hardly gets to see
Not a friend, nor a lover
Was that the price of royalty?
Now the subdued and timid fairy
Darted amongst the crowd
She dreamt of being wild
Though she was not allowed
One fairy, went to stop her
As she scurried through the place
Harsh words gave her instruction
Now she would slow her pace
As soon as she was out of sight
She unfolded youthful wings
Then settled into panicked flight
Too get away from things
Yes, grief enveloped her disfigured mind
It was not ok
All control left was behind
Fly, fly away

Even when the fairies realize
That their star is gone
They won’t rip the curtain
They will carry on
Because even though everybody loved
The princess of their world
They didn't know or love
The timid little girl

In the fairy kingdom of the secret realm
the princess has very special friends
honeybees and butterflies
ladybugs and fireflies

oh yea she has enemies also
they live by the cool blue lake
there is python poison snake
mad widow spider
mr. green lizard
and one mean wizard

who all wish to take over
the fairy princess kingdom
and end the fairy freedom

then there is venus-

who isn't taking anyone's side
she wants to eat them all
even the fairies who love to play,
dance at twilight and fly away

Epilogue II

When dusk falls cool as a rained-on rose,
And a tawny tower the twilight shows,
With the crescent moon, the silver moon, the curved new moon in a space that glows,
A turret window that grows a-light;
There is a path that my Fancy knows,
A glimmering, shimmering path of night,
That far as the Land of Faery goes.

II.

And I follow the path, as Fancy leads,
Over the mountains, into the meads,
Where the firefly cities, the glowworm cities, the fairy cities are strung like beads,
Each city a twinkling star:
And I live a life of valorous deeds,
And march with the Fairy King to war,
And ride with his knights on milk-white steeds.

III.

Or it's there in the whirl of their life I sit,
Or dance in their houses with starlight lit,
Their blossom houses, their flower houses, their elfin houses, of fern-leaves knit,
With fronded spires and domes:
And there it is that my lost dreams flit,
And the ghost of my childhood, smiling, roams
With the fairy children so dear to it.

IV.

And it's there I hear that they all come true,
The fairy-stories, whatever they do
Elf and goblin, dear elf and goblin, loved elf and goblin and all the crew
Of witch and wizard and gnome and fay,
And prince and princess, that wander through
The storybooks we have put away,
The fairytales that we loved and knew.

V.

The face of Adventure lures you there,
And the eyes of Danger bid you dare,
While ever the bugles, the silver bugles, the far-off bugles of Elfland blare,
The fairy trumpets to battle blow;
And you feel their thrill in your heart and hair,
And you fain would follow and mount and go
And march with the Fairies anywhere.

VI.

And she she rides at your side again,
Your little sweetheart whose age is ten:
She is the princess, the fairy princess, the princess fair that you worshipped when
You were a prince in a fairytale;
And you do great deeds as you did them then,
With your magic spear, and enchanted mail,
Braving the dragon in his den.

VII.

And you ask again, 'Oh, where shall we ride,
Now that the monster is slain, my bride?'
'Back to the cities, the firefly cities, the glowworm cities where we can hide,
The beautiful cities of Faeryland.
And the light of my eyes shall be your guide,
The light of my eyes and my snow-white hand
And there forever we two will abide.'

My Fairy Goddess

I saw a fairy goddess
in a strange, enchanted wood
with hair as bright and golden
as the flower, where she stood.

Her gown was white and lacy
and her figure was divine.
Her smile eclipsed the sunshine
and her heart was merged with mine.

We spoke of all our hopes and dreams;
the things that make us sad;
the things that make our heart sing
and the things that make us glad.

I fell in love that fateful day,
when I gained, yet lost my all,
for my fairy goddess soul-mate
was exactly one inch tall.
