Within the Alamo
He drew a straight line
Across the dirt floor:
Within, it was death-still--
Without, was a roar
And a scream of the trumpets:
Within, was a Word--
And a line drawn clean
By the sweep of a sword.
No help was coming, now--
That hope was done.
No more the free air,
no more the sun
Bright on the blue leagues
Of buffalo-clover.
Travis drew a line
And they all crossed over.
Travis had a wife at home,
Travis was young;
Travis had a little boy
Whose tight arms clung,
But Travis saw a far light
Shining before:
Travis drew a sword-cut
Across the dirt floor.
And now the old fort stands
Placid and dim,
Blinking and dreaming
Of them and of him;
And now past the Plaza
Other tides roar,
since Travis wrote "Valor"
Across the sand floor,
And the guns they will rust,
And the captains will go,
And an end come at last
To the wars that we know,
But as long as there travails
A Spirit in man,
In a war that was ancient
Before Time began,
Here will the brave come
To read a high Word--
Cut clean in the dust
By the stroke of a sword.

Travis The Terrible
This is an adorable little creature called Travis The Terrible
It lives in toys, trees, towers, and transformers
A Travis eats toads, trampolines, tornados and tomatoes
It likes trucks, ticks, tortillas, and tests
It tortures, teases, tricks, and treats
It took my television and with a twist turned it upside down just one of its little tricks.

Incommunicado
By: jimmy buffett, deborah mccoll, m.l. benoit
1980
For the duke and travis mcgee
Travis mcgees still in cedar key
Thats what ol john macdonald said
My rendezvouss so long overdue
With all of the things Ive sung and Ive read
They still apply to me
They all make sense in time
Chorus:
But now Im incommunicado
Drivin by myself down the road with a hole in it
Songs with no vibrato
Takin the long way home
Now on the day that john wayne died
I found myself on the continental divide
Tell me where do I go from here
Think Ill ride into leadville and have a few beers
I think of red river or liberty valance
Cant believe the old mans gone
Chorus:
But now hes incommunicado
Leavin such a hole in a world that believed
That a life with such bravado
Was takin the right way home
So when I finished that last line
I put the book by itself on the shelf with my heart in it
Never wastin time takin the right way home
I know Im never wastin time findin the right way home
Chorus:
Still I am incommunicado
Livin next door to a leg with a pin in it
Life with such bravado
Is takin the right way home
Tryin to make it
Tryin to fake it
Tryin to take it home
Tryin to make it
Tryin to fake it
Tryin to take it home
I know im...
Tryin to make it
Sometimes I fake it
Tryin to take it home
All Im doing is...
Tryin to make it
Tryin to fake it
Tryin to take it home
But now Im incommunicado...

Bureaucracy By Demigods
bureaucracy is minor
power abused by ego
inflated individuals
who abuse authority
or an organization
of non-elected officials
a governmental or
organization which
implements the rules,
laws, functions
of their institution,
often characterized
by excessive
officialism
corruption
rabid red tape?
Georgia-Rose Travis
said “... and 'it's' all
gone arse upards cos
certain people can't get
their *&^% sorted...
can't read legislation
or apply the relevant
laws to my situation...”
as you are already
aware Georgia
sometimes those not
worthy of being in
charge should be
removed from office
and their policy of
“changing the bloody
goal posts” is best
removed buried
with them for greater
good of the people
Dedicated to Georgia-Rose Travis.

Remember The Alamo
Freedom within grasp of their hands
Travis' men held the Fort in line
If later, none among them stands
Still, blowing all throughout those lands
Is cause that walls could not confine
It grew strong with the blood they spilled
And Crockett shed his blood for more
Pop! Pop! Pop! Bom! Bom! Bom! till killed
Yet outside, Fate has been fulfilled
Houston struck to even the score
Freedom earned not without a fight
For dream to live, and as they choose
In precepts that will give them light
To say which one is wrong or right
By themselves, without pride to lose.
