The tree stands limp, dormant within a garish black unheard sky
Innocently displaying
(Mans inferiority complex)
Light reflects white which lays in leaf and dried blood

The dark is lost..in time..yet again
Angelic sprites hang as christmas baubles for those
Who seem fit to smile and point
So much white, in teeth and flesh
The shirt reflection is good and oh so good
And angelic and dark are ne-er the twain

With their bobbed hair and smile as bright as they

Ive seen it going around when you get bad news
Thinking that you found a darker shade of blues
Looking for the light and its a long way back
You know without a fight youre gonna fade to black
Never was a man that ever felt this way
One who couldnt live to see another day
Hard times seem to have the corner on you

A bullet from the back of a bush took medgar evers blood.
A finger fired the trigger to his name.
A handle hid out in the dark
A hand set the spark

A south politician preaches to the poor white man,
You got more than the blacks, dont complain.
Youre better than them, you been born with white skin, they explain.

The Beast Within
In all of us, a beast lays waiting,
in the dark part of our soul.
It waits in the shadows
to blacken out heart,
wanting us to do
its dark bidding here.
Some are over powered
by the beast within,
their dark deed are everywhere.
Others control its craving,
quelling its black thoughts,
leaving it locked in the dark, in which it dwells.
We have heard of the battles,
good vs. evil,
light vs. dark.
Therefore, we must be strong,
and never let it out,

A Smile Is A Complicated Thing
A smile is a complicated thing, I'll tell you why,
Anyone can smile, as anyone should,
Yet still it can mask the deepest cuts, I know it's true,
It can deceive people into thinking one's okay, has it worked? ,
It can hide the tears that have dried upon ones face, can you see them?
A smile can show the world a little bit of light, if even just a glimmer,
It can take dark cracks in one's mind and disguise them, I wear a disguise,
It can put on a show for everyone to see, will you clap for me? ,
Yet a smile can also be true, I've had those too,
Offering nothing but joy and laughter, I remember those,
So before you pass off ones smile take a second to smile back, please smile at me,
Reassure them that they don't waste their smiles, are mine wasted? ,
Never judge a smile or ignore the eyes of the smiling, look in my eyes,
Look for hidden pains behind the mask, can you see? ,
Don't be deceived by the charade, listen to my silent story,
And before you pass by smile back, please smile back,
For your smile could be saying the same, do you know how I feel? ,
