Mavis and Beryle.... Refined
Mavis and Beryl
(a couple of war wives out the front of their houses)
(Please note fag is cigarette and aye is yes)
So whilst the golden fire displayed nature in her prime
And oak trees stood proud and good in a regimental line
Dancing silhouettes tinkered, creating a wondering swaying scene
Mavis clad in rollers, upon her mop, she had chose to lean
A smelly fag she held in hand as a lady at a ball
Dreaming of Sherry and taffeta, turning the heads of all
Fingers extending as though she were the aristocracy
When up popped Beryl the girl next door
'Dya wanna a cuppa Tea? '
Mavis took a puff, then a breath, then left her world of mind
Said 'oh aye duck, I'd like that'
'you are so very kind! '
She stubbed it out, laid her mop then trotted up the path
Round to Beryles for a cuppa tea and a
Ruddy good laugh!

End of the Day
At end of the day
All ya wanna do is chill
And relax
Feet up reading a book
Or about the world from today's paper
Then grabbing your muse
Cuppa in one hand
Pen in the other
Contemplating on what to write next
Ooh that feels good
Just to relax at the end of the day
Pulls cuppa up…and salutes in the air
Bottoms up peps…and have a good day

Mavis
My name is Mavis and i am looking for a man like you,
I am lonely and sweet with the sweet apples of my breasts;
But you are all that i want to push me through in the name of love.
I am looking for somebody like you to satisfy me,
And i am looking or somebody as sweet as honey like your type;
For i have the sugar in me for the sweet love that you are looking for.
Come to me oh man and satisfy me with your love,
Come to me oh man for you are the one;
Mavis is my name and i have more to share with you;
Yes, of the love unlimited is what i want to share with you all day.
Come and taste this fruit of love,
Come and taste this valley of my love and feel at home;
Because, i need you to my naked body all day long.

Medley: Fool For A Cigarette/feelin Good
(sidney bailey)/(j.b. lenoir/jim dickinson)
Uhm, Im a fool for a cigarette
Lord, Im fool for a cigarette
When youve finished choke it cause I wanna smoke it
Lord, Im fool for a cigarette
Mind when you throw your cigarette
Mind when you throw your cigarette
When youve finished choke it cause I wanna smoke it
Lord, Im fool for a cigarette
Lord, Im fool for a cigarette
Uhm, Im fool for a cigarette
When youve finished choke it cause I wanna smoke it
Lord, Im fool for a cigarette
Feelin good, feelin good
All the money in the world spent onl feelin good
Well, the wino met me on the streets
Said, help me on to some sneakin pete
Please, help me brother, I wish you would
cause I feel so bad and I wanna feel good
Feelin good, feelin good
All the money in the world is spent on feelin good
Well, you see them folks all dressed so fine
Dancing, drinking champagne and wine
Theyd pinch your pockets now if they could
cause they aint doing nothing but feelin good
Feelin good, feelin good
All the money in the world is spent on feelin good
Red, yellow, black or tan
Makes no difference: a mans a man
They oughta live together now if they could
Then the whole wide world would be feelin good
Feelin good, feelin good
All the money in the world spent on feelin good
Feelin good, feelin good
All the money in the world spent on feelin good

Birds, Batsmen and Bowlers
The throstle now in English lanes
Bids Summer strew her dear delights. . . .
But we, intent on cricket gains,
Watch well our valiant willow knights.
With eager eyes on cabled news,
We watch each bravely mounting score;
With ears half frozen, we refuse
To go to bed; but crane for more
From out the ether, as we sit
And 'listen-in,' tho' midnight's gone.
While glorious centuries they hit
(And if it isn't Bradman, it's Ponsford;
and if it isn't Ponsford, it's Woodfull;
and if it isn't Woodfull, it's McCabe;
and if it isn't McCabe, it's Chipperfield;
and if it isn't Chipperfield -)
Gosh! Can this sort of thing go on?
Our hope lies not alone in Don;
Others remain to carry on.
The Merry Mavis, fluting free
In England now by wood and weald,
Calls from the edge of Arcady. . . .
But, as our bowlers take the field,
We mark them with a mental eye,
Striving against the mimic foe,
Despite one Shaw. (Let Mavis cry,
The foolish fowl.) We see them mow
The wickets down; this way and that,
Turning the ball. Rare joy we sup
To mark their cunning beat the bat -
(And if it isn't Wall, it's O'Reilly;
and if it isn't O'Reilly, it's Grimmett;
and if it isn't Grimmett, it's Fleetwood-Smith;
and if it isn't Fleetwood-Smith -)
Oh Gosh! Can our men keep this up?
The Test? Alas, what bitter cup -
Hey! Shut that kookaburra up!

Silhouettes
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes,
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes.
Took a walk and passed your house late last night,
All the shades were pulled and drawn way down tight.
From within the dim light cast two silhouettes on the shade.
Oh what a lovely couple they made.
Put his arms around your waist, held you tight.
Kisses I could almost taste, in the night.
Wondered why Im not the guy whose silhouettes on the shade.
I couldnt hide the tears in my eyes.
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes,
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes.
Lost control and rang your bell, I was sore,
Let me in or else Ill beat down your door.
Saw two strangers who had been two silhouettes on the shade,
My heart skipped a beat I was on the wrong street.
Rushed down to your house with wings on my feet,
Loved you like Ive never loved you my sweet.
Vowed that you and I would be, two silhouettes on the shade.
All of our days two silhouettes on the shade.
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes,
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes.
Two silhouettes on the shade.

Have A Cuppa Tea
Grannys always ravin and rantin
And shes always puffin and pantin,
And shes always screaming and shouting,
And shes always brewing up tea.
Grandpappys never late for his dinner,
Cos he loves his leg of beef
And he washes it down with a brandy,
And a fresh made cup of tea.
Chorus:
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea,
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea,
Halleluja, halleluja, halleluja, rosie lea
Halleluja, halleluja, halleluja rosie lea.
If you feel a bit under the weather,
If you feel a little bit peeved,
Take grannys stand-by potion
For any old cough or wheeze.
Its a cure for hepatitis its a cure for chronic insomnia,
Its a cure for tonsilitis and for water on the knee.
Chorus
Tea in the morning, tea in the evening, tea at supper
Time,
You get tea when its raining, tea when its snowing.
Tea when the weathers fine,
You get tea as a mid-day stimulant
You get tea with your afternoon tea
For any old ailment or disease
For christ sake have a cuppa tea.
Chorus,
Whatever the situation whatever the race or creed,
Tea knows no segregation, no class nor pedigree
It knows no motivations, no sect or organisation,
It knows no one religion,
Nor political belief.
Chorus.

Good Life
Seven days of work
Getting no break
Gotta take a day off to unwind
It gives me time to get away
A little time to ease my mind, my mind tonight
Forget about your worries
Save your problems for tomorrow
Tonight just try to have a good time
Let the DJ make it easy
Let the music help you do it
Tell me don't you wanna live the good life
The Good Life
Good friends, no stresses
The Good Life
Laid back, relaxed in
The Good Life
Good love, no messes
The Good Life
Wanna live in the Good Life
Dancing with a glass of champagne
Or maybe Chardonay, keep me feeling good all night
See so many happy people on the floor
Leave your problems at the door, the door
Forget about your worries
Save your problems for tomorrow
Tonight just try to have a good time
Let the DJ make it easy
Let the music help you do it
Tell me don't you wanna live the good life
The Good Life
Good friends, no stresses
The Good Life
Laid back, relaxed in
The Good Life
Good love, no messes
The Good Life
Wanna live in the Good Life
The Good Life
Good friends, no stresses
The Good Life
Laid back, relaxed in
The Good Life
Good love, no messes
The Good Life
Wanna live in the Good Life
We'll dance the night away
Inside it feels so good I wanna stay
Althought I hate I have to go
And face another day
I'm gonna get my groove on and party, party
Forget about your worries
Save your problems for tomorrow
Tonight just try to have a good time
Let the DJ make it easy
Let the music help you do it
Tell me don't you wanna live the good life

Feelin On Yo Booty
Feelin on yo booty
1 - this is my song for real, no doubt
Said the djs making me feel thugged out
As I walk you to the dance floor
We begin to dance slow
Put your arms around me
Im feelin on your booty
Hey pretty mama how you doing?
Said Im just in town for the weekend
Looking for a little trouble to get into
Baby tell me what youre drinking
And I got you, ooh
Playas wanna play
Ballers wanna ball
Rollers wanna roll
But Im taking off after I dance, oh yeah
Repeat 1 (2x)
Now youre bodys got me feelin like spending
With a backroom I could come to live in
And your hair weave looking kind of pretty
The way you back it up on me baby
God have mercy
Playas wanna play
Ballers wanna ball
Rollers wanna roll
But Im taking off after I dance, yeah
Repeat 1 (2x)
If its your birthday
Then put your hands up
You wanna get drunk
Then put your hands up
And if you got some cash
Then put your hands up
Have your own job
Put your hands up
Playas wanna play
Ballers wanna ball
Rollers wanna roll
Feel so good, say it again
Playas wanna play
Ballers wanna ball
Rollers wanna roll
But Im taking off after I dance, oh yeah
Repeat 1 till end

The Satin Bower-Bird
Spare a bloom of blue, lady,
To adorn a bower.
A violet will do, lady
Any azure flower.
Since we hold a dance to-day,
We would make our ball-room gay,
Where the scented grasses sway.
And the tall trees tower.
Beautiful but shy, lady,
Yesterday we came
Dropping from the sky, lady,
Flecks of golden flame
Golden flame and royal blue
We have come to beg of you
Any scrap of heaven's hue
For our dancing game.
Spare us but a leaf, lady,
If our suit be spurned
We shall play the thief, lady,
When your back is turned;
Ravishing your garden plot
Of the choicest you have got
Pansy or forget-me-not
Counting it well earned.
Then, if some rare chance, lady,
Later should befall.
And you gain a glance, lady,
At our dancing hall,
You will find your blossoms there
'Mid our decorations where,
With a proud, patrician air,
We hold the Bushland Ball.

Graduation
In couple months I will graduate from high school
I'm so excited and anixety
First, I have to get through this couple months and
Do everything I need to do
We are leaving behind good and bad memories
Is another chapter in your life
Time to start new one in college or whereever you go
Years in school fly so fast
This is our moment to show people we love that we can do it
You have plan to go to college or whatever you have in mind
Time to get our freedom and be away from home
Time to live our life way we want
We are going our separate path, but
We still can get in contact with each other
No matter where we are in the world
This is greatest moment of our life
We are going tear, laugh, smile, and be proud what we done
Graduation
Is once in life time
High school don't last forever
This is what we been dreaming
All our life and we make it through
With our ups and downs, bad and good times
I never picture myself that I would be here
In front of whole school and get my diploma in my hand
This is all worth it
I never gave up or had any doubt
Thank you to all my friends who was like my brothers and sisters
They have been there for me, fun to hang out, talktative, and funny
Thank you to my family who is supportive, caring, and love me
Thank you to all my teachers who never give up on me and help me through
I have confident, hope, and believe in myself
That I will make it through and look where I am

Good Love
Everytime I get to see you
I get this feelin
Its so fuzzy inside
And as soon as I walk away from you
Im still tasting your kiss
Saving it in my mind
Its not everyday I find
A guy that makes me smile all the time
Not the way that you do
All the guys I thought I used to love
Compared to you they dont match up
They got nothing on you
I think I found a good good good love
The kind that will put it on you
The kind that you wanna hold on to
I think I found a good good good love
We can be lovers and friends too
And theyll do anything for you
A good love
Baby you got somethin special
That has me thinking of settling down
Youre the one my mama told me
Would sooner or later one day finally come around
I think I found a good good good love
The kind that will put it on you
The kind that you wanna hold on to
I think I found a good good good love
We can be lovers and friends too
And theyll do anything for you
A good love
I think I found a good good good love
The kind that will put it on you
The kind that you wanna hold on to
I think I found a good good good love
We can be lovers and friends too
And theyll do anything for you
A good love
You bring me joy
And you bring me much pleasure
I could never see myself leaving you ever
Your soft touch is good and it cant get no better
You have got my mind so caught up
Im drunk off of your good love
I think I found a good good good love
The kind that will put it on you
The kind that you wanna hold on to
I think I found a good good good love
We can be lovers and friends too
And theyll do anything for you
A good love
I think I found a good good good love
The kind that will put it on you
The kind that you wanna hold on to
I think I found a good good good love
We can be lovers and friends too
And theyll do anything for you
A good love
I think I found a good good good love
The kind that will put it on you
The kind that you wanna hold on to
I think I found a good good good love

I wanna a girl,
A girl with Brave Heart,
A girl with an Winning Smile,
A girl who will make me laugh,
A girl who is beautiful,
A girl who is Kind And Strong.
I wanna A girl, A good one,
A girl who don't struts,
A girl who don't fuss,
A girl who's not a bling - bling,
A girl who will stand with me
A girl who will make my Heart Race
I wanna a girl,
A girl who is something special,
A girl who is loving,
A girl with great patience,
A girl I would be lucky to know,
A girl you'd dream About.
I wanna a girl,
A girl who will be my Kryptonite,
I want a girl I'd fight for,
A girl who makes me think,

With no trouble at all (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Survived em all baby (uh huh, say it, say it!)
Hmph, Im still melody, and Im still cool
Melody cool...
They call me melody cool (melody, melody)
I was here long before u (melody, melody)
If ure good I will love ya, (melody) but Im nobodys fool (melody)
Im melody cool
When I was born there were tidal waves (melody, melody)
Whole town went under nobody saved (melody, melody)
At every funeral it rained every time I sang
Melody cool
I have been here much longer, (melody) longer than u (melody)
Im melody cool
Well now, everybody runnin round talkin bout saving souls
When they know good and plenty well they got enough trouble
Trying to save their own
(alright, say it, say it girl)
(melody...melody...melody)
Go on, go on.
Every woman and every man (melody)
One day they just got to understand (melody)
That if we play in the same key everything will be
Melody cool
(melody, melody, melody, melody)
Whats your name? (melody, melody)
New power wave your hand, everybody sing out across the land
Say hey hey hey (hey hey hey)
Say hey hey hey (hey hey hey)
Everybody say hey hey hey (hey hey hey)
They call me melody cool (melody, melody, melody)
Looka here young un
Let me give u a piece of good advice, (melody)
And I do get paid for counseling
It aint no big is and little us in my life
So thats why u see they call me melody cool (melody, melody cool, melody)

There was a man
There was a man with a golden crop.
Started to see, the growth he had did stop;
Over a few months he noticed as he did look,
A cricket pitch, was now he saw it over took.
There was a lady of almost 60, and in a mood,
She looked in the mirror, found her chin growing a brood;
She tried to pull each new hair till it came out,
But a few weeks later, two no three, new ones came about.
These two met for a cuppa, and a sweet,
And spoke of their problems on their seat;
She said to him why is it to me, such a bother,
I'll soon need to shave, I'm not a guy I'm a mother.
He agreed, and started to laugh, at the situation,
That he also had a problem, a hair complication;
Then she said why do you laugh, it's no joke you know,
But; soon saw why he thought it was fun, said o blow.
He said dear girl, as we get older, I'm losing my locks,
But you sweet ladies start growing a beard so why the knocks?
From the younger generation, that we see everywhere,
After all one day it'll happen to them as well, and see if we care.

The Waltz
The young couple glided out onto the floor,
He was looking so elegant, and she even more,
Her wide flowing dress of a beautiful green,
Was swaying and swirling, a sight to be seen.
They waltzed to perfection, around and around,
Like soft curls of smoke that move over the ground,
The music was rousing, and as if in a dream,
Moving in unison, they danced so supreme.
He traversed the floor with incredible speed,
Never causing a mishap, yet giving no heed,
To other couples there, who were doing their best,
In this very important, ballroom dancing test.
Their faces were radiant their smiles said it all,
They were really enjoying it, and having a ball,
The audience were enraptured and were hoping that they,
Would be the one couple to win first prize today.
By Strauss they were captured, and sent on their way,
Commanding the dancers to dip and to sway,
The music so powerful, so compelling, so rich,
This waltzing was really reaching a 'pitch'.
At last the band finished, and everyone flopped,
For the judges were calling, and everything stopped,
The competitors were now asked to go for a break,
Whilst they, with deliberation, a decision could make.
The nerves were now beginning to come to the fore,
The knees they were shaking waiting for the score,
The shoes they were pinching, the feet they were hot,
And now they were wondering what 'score' they had got.
The dancers were now filing back through the door,
The decision had been made, and they crowded the floor,
The band started up, and a fanfare was played,
Now who, they were wondering, had come up to the grade.
The compere now asked for the audience's forbearance,
Whilst he read our the winners without interference,
First the third, then the second winners came up,
The third won a certificate, the second a cup.
Then with a great roar, the first place was announced,
And the elegant gent with his lady just bounced
With joy as the medals were graciously bestowed,
The gent and the lady, they positively glowed.
Everyone was pleased that the best two were winners,
Which was a nice happy ending for the delightful spinners,
Dancing their waltz with such wonderful ease.
So why don't you come dancing, you'll find it a breeze!

Sherry's Living In Paradise
Southern California could not hold her dreams
She's happy now it seems
'Cause Sherry's living, living in paradise
Chasing something or running from something
Had a lot of lovers that were good for nothing
And she's thought about leaving once or twice
But she's still in the sun and this laid-back life
Sherry's living in paradise
Sherry's living in paradise
Somehow the salty air, it soothes her soul
Says it makes her whole
She gets hit on by the tourists
But she brushes it off 'cause she's heard every line
She just takes it in stride
'Cause Sherry's living, living in paradise
Chasing something or running from something
Had a lot of lovers that were good for nothing
And she's thought about leaving once or twice
But she's still in the sun and this laid-back life
Sherry's living in paradise
She's thought about leaving once or twice
But she's still in the sun and this laid-back life

Something Good
Just wanna know ya
Just wanna talk to ya
I wanna hear about your day
I'd never leave ya
Never be mean to ya
I'd always let you get your way
Something good will come our way
And maybe this good thing's gonna happen today
If I were honest I 'd tell you everything
But it keeps coming out as lies
It's not a promise
In case you're wondering
It's not some blessing in disguise
But something good will come our way
And maybe this good thing's gonna happen today
Something good will come our way
And maybe this good things gonna happen today
I know romance is not in fashion
And my heart is on the line
If you would be so kind
To help me kill some time
Then something good just might come crashing
From the stars that light the sky
If you would be so kind
To help me kill some time
Just wanna know ya
Just wanna talk to ya
I wanna hear about your day
I'd never leave ya
Never be mean to ya
I'd always let you get your way
Something good will come our way
And maybe this good thing's gonna happen today
Something good will come our way
And maybe this good things gonna happen today
Something good will come our way
Something good will come our way
Something good will come our way
Something good will come our way
La la la la la la
La la la la la
La la la la la
Something good will come our way

One Leg Anne and the Kid
Anne poked Monica
the girl with burn scars
with one of her crutches
and said
Scam scar face
me and the skinny kid
want to be alone
and Monica moved off
and said
I'm going to tell
Sister Bridget about you
Anne indicated for you
to sit in one of the chairs
on the lawn
and said to Monica
Go tell her then
and kiss her arse
while you're there
and Monica went off
and Anne eased herself
down into the other chair
and laid her crutches
against the round table
Well Kid how's it going?
All right
you replied
Just all right?
aren't you blown away
and isn't your heart faster
on my approach?
she laughed
and stared at you
Well?
she said
after a few moments
of silence
Did you manage
to bum me a smoke?
you fumbled
in your shirt pocket
and pulled out
a cigarette slightly bent
Well done you
Skinny Boy
and she took the cigarette
and put it in the pocket
of her cardigan and said
I'll have that later
when I'm in the john
having a pee
What if someone sees you?
you asked
What in the john?
I hope there'll be
no one in the john
with me
well unless you want to come
you're quite welcome
No
you said looking at
her straight black hair
and her dark eyes
and the one leg
sticking out
from her red skirt
she saw you staring
at her leg and said
I think you've fallen in love
with my lone leg
and she lifted her skirt
and revealed the leg stump
coming a little way
from her panty line
Have a good look Kid
and she laughed
and pulled your left hand
onto the stump
and held it there
and you sensed
the warmth and softness
and when she released
your hand you seemed
to take the impression
of the leg stump
on your palm and fingers
and odd
that years after that
that impression
like some ghost
still lingers.
