God's Christmas Tree
The traveler told me,
That He had walked far.

He had not much father to go,

Did I see the Christmas tree,
With a bright star,
covered in blankets of snow,
Fighting for life,
against nature and man's war.
Needing to find peace for the soul,

It's cloudy out in pittsburgh
It's rainin' in saigon
Snow's fallin' all across the michigan line
Well she sits by the light of her christmas tree
With the radio softly on
Thinkin' how a good man is so hard to find

Is It Christmas Again
No matter how hard I try thoughts of
Christmas leave me with a sad sigh
Why on that one day people promise
Peace and joy to the world and
On the very next day those feeling run cold
That wonderful spirit felt on that night
Is diminished and not shining bright
How can it be gone from one day to the next
That is why I feel always perplexed
When bells are ringing and choruses are singing
Gifts under the tree are supposed to bring joy
I remember a time when there was not even a toy
No cookies or candies no tree graced the room
Only for a few hours the bombing did not resume
In a dark room we huddled glad to be alive
It made me realize life can be strife
For me to have Christmas Spirit I need to know

The Bells Announcing Our Wedding Day
Today is a wonderful day for me,
I feel so special, I just did ten years ago,
I remember when we entered the church,
The sound of the bells announcing our wedding day.
The feelings I had on that day, i'll never forget,
I'll tresure them forever in my being,

HEAVY hearts, your jubilee
Droops about the Christmas Tree.
Sudden sighs cut off the laughter,
For a haunting pain comes after

Our earth made beautiful shall bless
Their stern young manhood nobly testified.
Silver chimes are on the air,
Sweet and blithe—too blithe to bear;
And what singing hearth rejoices,
Missing the belovèd voices
That were merriest there?
The booming cannon are their Christmas bells;
(O Holy Child, how many a homeless waif!)
Their carols are the hiss and crash of shells.
God keep them safe!
Be comforted! For safe they are within
His quiet hand, your soldiers who fulfil
In steadfast discipline,
Like those calm stars, His patient will
That is the peace beneath all battle-din.
