Ghost of You

Whistling wind
Crashing waves
Hot white sand
And high caves

The smell of grass
The taste of sand
The sight of happiness
Cool skin 'gainst my hand

Footballs and soccer
Cameras and lenses
Exercise and hugs
Sitting watching movies

Hiking the bush
Cycling in the heat
Slaving at work
Blisters on my feet

Ur cool lips
Ur smooth legs
Ur delightful smile
things i won't forget

But no joy
Do they give
They merely remind
Me of what i could've

Everywhere i go
In the things i do
I'm constantly haunted
By the ghost of you

Trying so hard
To get you out my head
But The ghost of you
Still isnt dead

GRAINS of SAND

Grains of sand
on which I stand
burn my feet
from the sun's intense heat.
I bury them quickly
to keep them cool.
The grains of sand
can be too cruel.
And now I know
I played the fool
for I left my sandals
where it was cool.
Afraid to move,
I see a child.
I call to him
as if I'm wild.
'My shoes, my shoes
please bring them here.'
He looks and waves,
then disappears.
And so I stay
and face the day
stuck in grains of sand.

A New Day

Come quick. Give me your hand.
Let us go walking on the white sand.
We must go early before the sun's high
for then comes the time when our feet will fry.

We can find shells and smooth sea-glass
after the waves wash up, then pass.
All of our cares we will leave behind,
nothing but sand and sun on our mind.

And if we are quick there just may be
dolphins swimming in the open sea.
If we don't dawdle we'll wet our toes
to enjoy the day as the sun glows.

The sparkle of sand like crystals aglow
makes your heart quicken and then you'll know
that all of your cares have faded away
'cause you took my hand to face the new day.

These Foolish Things

A cigarette that bares a lipstick's traces
An airline ticket to romantic places
And still my heart has wings
These foolish things remind me of you.
A tinkling piano in the next apartment
Those stumblin'words that told you what my heart meant
A fairground's painted swings
These foolish things
Remind me of you.
You came,
You saw,
You conquered me
When you did that to me
I knew somehow this had to be
The winds of march that made my heart a dancer
A telephone that rings but who's to answer
Oh, how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things
Remind me of you
First daffodils
And long excited cables
And candle lights
A little corner table
And still my heart has wings
These foolish things remind me of you
The park at evening
When the bell has sounded
The pier in france
With all the gulls around it
The beauty that is spring
These foolish things
Remind me of you
How strange,
How sweet,
To find you still,
These things are dear to me
They seem to bring you near to me
The sigh of midnight trains
At empty stations
Silk stockings thrown aside
Dance invitations
Oh how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things
Remind me of you
Gardenia perfume
Lingering on a pillow
Wild strawberries
Only seven francs a kilo
And still my heart has wings,
These foolish things,
Remind me of you
The smile of garbo
And the scent of roses
The waiters whistling
As the last bar closes
The song that crosby sings
These foolish things
Remind me of you
How strange
How sweet
To find you still
These things are dear to me
They seem to bring you near to me
The scent of smoldering leaves
The wail of steamers
Two lovers on the street
Who walk like dreamers
Oh how the ghost of you clings
These foolish things
Remind me of you.

Angel

Written by stevie nicks.
Sometimes
The most beautiful things
The most innocent things
And many of those dreams
Pass us by
Keep passing us by
You feel good
I said it's funny that you understood
I knew you would
When you were good
You were very, very good
I still look up
When you walk in the room
I've the same wide eyes
They tell the story
Try not to reach out
When you turn 'round
And you say hello
And we both pretend
There was an end
But there was no ending
So i close my eyes softly
Til i become that part of the wind
That we all long for sometime
And to those that i love
Like a ghost through a fog
Like a charmed hour
And a haunted song
And the angel of my dreams
I still look up
I try hard not to look up
That girl was me
Track a ghost through the fog
A charmed hour -- a haunted song
Track a ghost through the fog, baby
Ooh, you try hard
But you'll never catch me -- yeah

Real a Lie

Tell me is it Real a Lie? Wont you come a little closer to reveal the sky?
Through dirty crowds she burst through gathering clouds.

I just can’t think in this heat, I need to get off my feet.
Sink into cool, cool calms of shade.

Think like a genius to act like a fool,
Always bending the rules, they hammered into us at school.
Beneath giant palms we could go fade,
sink into cool, cool calms of shade.

I'll have it on the rocks, laid out on the sand,
I'll wait for you by the docks to take me by the hand.

Across oceans of eternity, we'll plummet to the depths of this land
if only we could avoid it, if only I could take you by the hand.

A small pang of regret, better off to live and forget
better off to live as it’s life we’re living.

You don’t have to forgive me, You don’t have to receive me,
You don’t have to believe a word I say.

Here we begin, for the cycle to start a new,
I've felt this way before, too many times,
its all downhill fro here my friend.

What I would give to hold you, just once, to let you know the way I feel,
Just for you to tell me, is it Real a Lie?

Hush now baby, baby blue,
These tears I've shed everyone for you,
all I’m asking, is it Real a Lie girl

Hit me, where it hurts, don’t you k now I like it when she hurts,
Skin so easily bruised it may have been that of a peach.

Coolhead

Ill keep a cool head
bout all the things that you said
Ive lost my innocence
Ill keep a cool head
Im not here for you amusement
But I think one thing is clear
I see you with that bitch
When you know you shoulda been here with me
Ill keep a cool head
bout all the things that you said
Ive lost my innocence
Ill keep a cool head
Youve got a reputation
For being a ladies man
Ive got determination
For thoroughly kicking your ass my friend
Its not cool
cause I hate all the things that you do
Ill keep a cool head
bout all the things that you said
Ive lost my innocence
Ill keep a cool head
No matter what you say to make me stay
I will make you pay
No matter what my gut tells me to say
Im playing the game
Im gonna pop
No matter what you say to make me stay
Youre gonna pay
Ill keep a cool head
bout all the things that you said
Ive lost my innocence
Ill keep a cool head
Ill keep a cool head
Im gonna make you beg
And all the promises
Ill keep a cool head
Yah yah Ill keep a cool head

Symphonic Senses

A diamond in the rough,
Light dances through you
Revealing a rainbow of harmonies
bouncing against walls of sound creating waves
Fantasia
... The sight of music

Ice cold lemonade on a Golden sunny day
The perfect rum
Hot cocoa next to the fire
Chocolate syrup against smooth skin
... The taste of music

Sunday dinner
Sweet potato pie, cornbread, ham
Filtering in memories of back in the day...
Michael Jackson...
The scent of an ex-lover you sometimes still wish you had
Aroma Fusion Therapy
... The smell of music

Waves crashing against smoothed out pebble beaches
Strengthened by hissing wind gusts
Cool rain hitting hot pavement
Your car starting in the midst of a deep freeze
The gentle moan following a passionate kiss
... The sound of music

Music's backstage pass... Access granted
A tight bass line tickles your inner thigh
as is firmly pulsates against your G-spot
You spread your legs in anticipation
awaiting an orgasm of soulful jism
... The touch of music

Aura

The air was dark
The moon was dark
The night was dark
The cloud was dark
The heat was dark
The stars were black
The birds were black
The eyes were black
The shadows were black
The planes were black
A sound of night
The hearts of night
A chase at night
A fall at night
No help at night
The night is night
Where is my sight
I have no sight
Your light was sight
No light no sight
No one in sight
The dark in sight
Don't call my name
What's my name
They call my name
That's not my name
Who said its my name
I have no name
You took my same
It was our same
She was our same
She's now your same
Its all the same
I'm not the same
Judas and my hand
You took my hand
'I do' my hand
You kissed my hand
You broke my hand
You fell my hand
A tear in sand
A heart in sand
A body in sand
Alone in sand
A dust in sand
At home in sand.

Club Tropicana

Let me take you to the place
Where memberships a smiling face,
Brush shoulders with the stars.
Where strangers take you by the hand,
And welcome you to wonderland -
From beneath their panamas...
Chorus:
Club tropicana, drinks are free,
Fun and sunshine - theres enough for everyone.
All thats missing is the sea,
But dont worry, you can suntan!
Castaways and lovers meet,
Then kiss in tropicanas heat,
Watch the waves break on the bay.
Soft white sands, a blue lagoon,
Cocktail time, a summers tune,
A whole nights holiday!
Chorus
Pack your bags,
And leave tonight.
Dont take your time,
Gotta move your feet, dont you miss the flight!
Cool, cool, cool, cool
Chorus
Cool, cool, cool, cool

Ebb-Tide

NOW the vexed clouds, wind-driven, spread wings of white,
Long leaning wings across the sea and land.
The waves creep back bequeathing to our sight
The treasure-house of their deserted sand,
And where the nearer waves curl white and low,
Knee-deep in swirling brine the slow-foot shrimpers go.

Pale breadth of sand, where clamorous gulls confer,
Marked with broad arrows by their planted feet;
White rippled pools, where late deep waters were
And ever the white waves marshalled in retreat
And the grey wind in sole supremacy
O'er opal and amber cold of darkening sky and sea.

Thanking The Lord

I have to thank god every day
For all the good things he sends my way.
Even before a problem would arise
He is there by my side.

When I have a problem that is tearing me apart
I give it to his kind gentle heart.
When I am fearful of walking down
That lonely dark road
He’ll be there for my hand to hold.

Just like the poem footprints in the sand
He is there to give his hand
And when I can no longer travel the road
He is there to carry the load.

When my feet are cut and bruised
Because I no longer have any shoes
He is there to clean my feet
And cool down the burning heat.

He is there every step of the way
And I thank him every day.
He will love me no matter what I may do
And the best part is that he forgives me too.

He is a forgiving and loving god
Because he knows the human heart.
We do things that we may not think about
But, he doesn’t scold, or scream and shout.

he knows That we will make mistakes
And like a bird we will want to try our wings
And may do the unforgivable thing.
But just like a bird we will always
Go back to our nest, and from that
Point we will do our best.

Oh! Death Will Find Me, Long Before I Tire

Oh! Death will find me, long before I tire
Of watching you; and swing me suddenly
Into the shade and loneliness and mire
Of the last land! There, waiting patiently,

One day, I think, I'll feel a cool wind blowing,
See a slow light across the Stygian tide,
And hear the Dead about me stir, unknowing,
And tremble. And I shall know that you have died,

And watch you, a broad-browed and smiling dream,
Pass, light as ever, through the lightless host,
Quietly ponder, start, and sway, and gleam --
Most individual and bewildering ghost! --

And turn, and toss your brown delightful head
Amusedly, among the ancient Dead.

0332 How were they to know?

Yes, how were they to know,
searching in the heat of forenoon dunes,
those high hills of sand
where once the forests grew,
now a rhythm of burnt sunned, cool shadowed, mock horizons,
- they, searching for the camel which had strayed -

and finding there, a man sitting still, cross-legged
in the sand upon a small strip
of faded coloured carpet,
palm of hand crossed in palm of hand,
and in the palm of his upraised right hand,
one grain of sand

and who, as they approached,
did not shift his gaze from that one grain;
and yet they sensed that he sensed them;
better let him be, he knows what he’s about,
or if he’s mad, at least he’s quietly purposeful…

how were they to know
that as he gazed, the universe he saw
in that one grain of sand then
grew inside of him? till it filled itself,
like a sand-clock, as the last grain
falls from the upper to
the lower, and all is still again
as measured time stops still
amid the sands of time?

how were they to know
as that small figure against the desert sand
his cloak still burning to the touch,
returned to the oasis, as the red-hot sun
sank below the dramatic shadow of the furthest dune,

and later, sitting by the green palms and papyrus reeds,
the camels head down, humped around the welcome pool,
one child, then many children,
then grown men, asked him their questions;
and the answers, as the night folded in
below more stars than anyone could count,
drew the circle of cross-legged silent listeners
- occasionally, urgent voiced with a lifetime’s pressing question -
as if some grain of sand became in their mind too
totality; the universe.

Balangaw (Rainbow)

One morning, I had a cup of coffee
By the window of my hut at Lahong
Facing North. I let the air evolve into wind
From my mouth to the surface of the vaporizing
Liquid in the cup, forming waves,

And then took a sip.

The heat and the taste bit my tongue.
Ouch!

The sky was partly cloudy; it was raining
In the West whilst the sunrise shone in the East.

I took a sip.

I looked up in the sky and was pleased to see
A rainbow painted on the Western part.
Mamang always warned us not to point our fingers
To the rainbow because doing so
Would give us skin blisters.
Papang once told us that there is a pot of gold
On each end of the rainbow.

I took a sip.

The color of the liquid in my cup was pale.
So was its sweetness.
Poverty and frugality are twins.
It came to my mind:
The pot of gold on a rainbow's end
Is the answer to this bland coffee.

I took a sip, the last sip.

I left the hut, treading westward,
Barefooted. Soft drizzle on my head.
Tacky quagmire on my feet.

I walked, walked, and walked
To Gacutan - I had seen one
of the rainbow's ends on this place,
but it disappeared.

Noon came with raindrops
Falling on my head. No shelter.
No food. No rainbow.

On a grassy peak of a hill
I waited for the rainbow to reappear.
Soft drizzle on my head.
Cold wind against my skin.
Tingling touch of grass on my feet.

Afternoon came with sunset visible,
Giving warmth to my shivering lips.
The rainbow! There! On the East!
I saw one of its ends
On my hut at Lahong.

A Time At The Beach

Why not long walks on the beach
Whispering sweet nothings to each
Walking bare foot in the sand
Walking together hand in hand
Watching the waves come crashing in
Feeling the dampness on my skin
Feeling the gentle breeze on my face
One of god's beauties, what a wonderful place
Looking up towards all the stars
On this magic night, this will be all ours
Love the ocean once in a while
Forgetting your problems and making you smile!
