I Hurt a Dove

I hurt a dove
She landed on my sill
With wings of glorious heaven

She covered me with acceptance
Legitimacy
Made me feel family

Her soft voice volatile
Her pain exposed
Incantations of delicate identity

I seen her tears
I spoke of them
She flew away wounded

I call and call but she is gone

All Across The Sands

Bones of an impressive romance
Scattered all across the sands
A secret safe with all the world
Too vain to seem so capable

Can you hear it calling?
Do you feel warmer?
As the hired hand's exposed

How can a pretty painted shell
Send them all packing off to Hell?
A freight train laughs and rattles by
You kiss the girls and made them die

Can you hear it calling?
Do you feel warmer?
As the hired hand's exposed

And I'll never come here again
And we will never come here again
And we will never play here again
Again

Can you hear it calling?
Do you feel warmer?
As the hired hand's exposed

After her call
After her call
After her call
Didn't call

Can you hear it calling?
Do you feel warmer?
As the hired hand's exposed

After her call
After her call
After her call
As she calls

The Cuckoo Clock

The cuckoo flew out of the clock
and landed on the arm chair.
It looked me in the eye and said,
“I’m not going back in there!

People expect too much of me,
going back and forth all day.
I’m not going back inside.
No! Never! No way.

The clock’s none stop ticking
has made my head feel sore
Calling ‘cuckoo’ 24-7 it’s too much,
I’m not doing it any more.

I want to breathe the fresh air,
and feel the rain and sun.
I want to be able to fly around
and enjoy proper cuckoo fun.

I should be leaving my eggs
here, there, and everywhere.
Eating lots of juicy worms,
and being free without a care.

What do you mean I’m not real
and I’m only made of wood?
Of course I am; I call out ‘cuckoo’
like every cuckoo should.

Just put me on the windowsill
and I’ll show you how I can fly.
Why..? I can’t move my wings,
no matter how much I try.

And I can’t call out ‘cuckoo’,
my ‘cuckoo’ cry has gone.
My head and body won’t move,
and my wings won’t open.

Oh dear, what am I to do?
I’m just a piece of wood.
I’ve been shaped like a bird
and my paint job’s not so good.

I’ve a spring sticking out my bottom
and my feathers aren’t feathers at all.
I haven’t a sound to call my own,
and when I try to fly I fall…

Will you please put me back in the clock?
It’s the only place I can call my home.
I’ll be happy to remind you of the time,
and I promise never again to moan.

The Lonely Dove

A lonely dove struggled above
an ocean without a shore.
Weary of crying, "I am dying,
help me, I can fly no more." He wept alone and tried to wing on
but was too spent with pain.
He had no nest, or place of rest,
and fell, never to rise again. Now there is an empty space
where the lonely dove once flew.
For on one at all heard his haunting call
and only the Father his anguish knew. Now there is an empty space
where the lonely dove once flew.
For no one at all heard his haunting call
and only the Father his anguish knew.
Now just an empty silence falls
where the lonely dove cried alone.
For his calls ceased as he made his peace
and a deaf and blind world turns on.

The Dove of Dacca

The freed dove flew to the Rajah's tower—
Fled from the slaughter of Moslem kings—
And the thorns have covered the city of Gaur.
Dove—dove—oh, homing dove!
Little white traitor, with woe on thy wings!

The Rajah of Dacca rode under the wall;
He set in his bosom a dove of flight—
`If she return, be sure that I fall."
Dove—dove—oh, homing dove!
Pressed to his heart in the thick of the fight.

"Fire the palace, the fort, and the keep—
Leave to the foeman no spoil at all.
In the flame of the palace lie down and sleep
If the dove—if the dove—if the homing dove
Come, and alone, to the palace wall."

The Kings of the North they were scattered abroad—
The Rajah of Dacca he slew them all.
Hot from slaughter he stooped at the ford,
And the dove—the dove—oh, the homing dove!
She thought of her cote on the palace-wall.

She opened her wings and she flew away—
Fluttered away beyond recall;
She came to the palace at break of day.
Dove—dove—oh, homing dove,
Flying so fast for a kingdom's fall!

The Queens of Dacca they slept in flame—
Slept in the flame of the palace old—
To save their honour from Moslem shame.
And the dove—the dove—oh, the homing dove,
She cooed to her young where the smoke-cloud rolled!

The Rajah of Dacca rode far and fleet,
Followed as fast as a horse could fly,
He came and the palace was black at his feet;
And the dove—the dove—the homing dove,
Circled alone in the stainless sky.

So the dove flew to the Rajah's tower—
Fled from the slaughter of Moslem kings;
So the thorns covered the city of Gaur,
And Dacca was lost for a white dove's wings.
Dove—dove—oh, homing dove,
Dacca is lost from the Roll of the Kings!

His Call

That evening
I sat down to write
My very last mail
To him.

And while I was writing
I could feel
My aching heart
Throbbing so loud
I could hear
Every beat of it
Pulsating with pain.

And still I kept writing
My very last mail
To him.
Though my eyes
Felt blurred
With all the tears
That rushed asunder
Streaming through my cheeks
And yet I brushed them aside
And wrote
My very last mail to him.

And when I had done
All the writing
I took a long, last look
At that letter of mine
Re-reading every word of it
That I had written to him
With all my heart...

Those precious moments
Were so endearing to me
For I felt that
Once this mail goes
I won't be able to
Write to him anymore
No more of those
Diary mails of mine
I used to write to him
Everyday.

For I had made a Promise
Never to go back
To him.
And that promise I had made
To him and to myself
With all the pain
And the agony
That had shrouded me.

Yes - that promise has stayed Intact
And I would abide by it.
And I haven't faltered...
Though my tender heart feels
So very Bruised.

And even though
The other day
He called me up
And I heard
His broken voice
Over the phone
Saying that
He had read my mail
Explaining himself
How he was...
How very dear to him
I have been
How very close
To his heart.

I just listened
And yet his garble of words
Were beyond me now
And more than his voice
His words of care
I could hear -
The waves of silence
That had engulfed me.

He did all the talking
And I -
All the listening...
And yet,
Today - when I look back
I don't feel like going back
To him anymore.

And I know he might call again
Asking me if I am cross.
In life's such delicate
Situations -
Being angry doesn't help
So why should I be?

It is just that
I don't feel like
Writing to him anymore
The pain is just too much
And so are the scars of the past
Like scabs on the skin
Bleeding every now and then.

And so that was my last mail
My very last mail to him
And his call for a truce
I had to choose...
Truce with him
Or truce with my silence.

And I looked back
At all the hard times
He had given me -
All the pain of the past years
That kept reverberating inside
Like the Tinnitus of being Deaf.

And I thought
I would call it a truce
A truce of realisation
A truce of acceptance
No - not with him.
But - A Lifetime's Truce
With me and my Destiny.

Wings Of A Dove

Let me fly in the wings of a dove
Above the Manhattan sky
So that all the yankies can see me
At least I will be safe in the wings of a dove
And I can sleep while I am fling in the wings of a dove
I love to fly in the wings of a dove
But the feeling of being high in the sky is great
But God gave me a chance to fly in the wings of a dove
When the opportunity came I didn't even think for a minute
I just jumped right in this opportunity
And I am glad I did it
Because I am having the greatest time when I am flying in the wings of a Dove
But I woke up at midnight and the sky was already dark
Eventhough the dove was still flying
The dove took me all the way to Chigago the windy city
Men I must tell you that it was very windy inthe sky in chicago
But we landed safe in Chicago by the shore
And I sleept in the shore of Chicago for the night
To me it was almost like being inside a movie scream when I woke up the next morning at the Shore of Chicago

A mothers Tear

A mother tear is feel with fear and determination, stress in her voice cause her family face starvation. The longer she fight, the more they starve, so she shares her body with strangers and drugs. Her family ate with the money she made, regret in her voice cause now she have aids, slave to the needle for so many years, the ocean got deeper with so many tears, death was coming and now its hear. The 4 horsemen stood watching while the grim reaper stared. the pain is to strong, she could not bear the angel sung loud she could not hear everything went black can't see clear, her eyes went blank, soul faded away. family heard a beeping noise so all they did was prey. Father in heaven i love her so much, father in heaven she gave up so much, father in heaven i prey for my family and me that the hardships she went through, we won't see. Father in Heaven.

Heaven Sent

Your eyes are like deep wells of desire
Once in your arms Im on fire
You were sent girl so perfectly true
Changing my life
Now Im a survivor
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you
Late at night when the evening fire has died
Theres a look in your eye
Seductive images fly
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you
One day youll see what angels can see
Dressed in black if she comes back
I think Ill lose my mind
Tuesday she works
In the library uptown
Some useful knowledge
Can always be found
Dont burn the library
Till youve read all the books
Sometimes in life
You get a second look
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you
Heaven sent
Thats what I call you

Thats what I call you

I Always Gave In

Why do family attack and criticise?
Why the anger, attitude and the need to fight?
We need to be here for each other
Not constantly ducking for cover

Family needs to love, support and affectionately be tight.
It should be discussion not argument no matter who is wrong or right Neither visits nor calls unless to be used or abused
Now I stand my ground for surrender I refuse

Family can be insensitive and cause so much pain
I can’t believe after all these years here it goes again
The hurt can be so immense just so one can feel they are right
My broken heart and flowing tears afford me no comfort through the night

Family can hurt you the worst when they stab you in the heart
When all you want is love, recognition, acceptance, not broken and ripped apart So here is the message, no more, no more and take it to be true
If you can't give love and compasion then that's it I'm through.

The Wounded Bird

In the wide bed
Under the freen embroidered quilt
With flowers and leaves always in soft motion
She is like a wounded bird resting on a pool.

The hunter threw his dart
And hit her breast,--
Hit her but did not kill.
"O my wings, lift me--lift me!
I am not dreadfully hurt!"
Down she dropped and was still.

Kind people come to the edge of the pool with baskets.
"Of course what the poor bird wants is plenty of food!"
Their bags and pockets are crammed almost to bursting
With dinner scrapings and scraps from the servants'
lunch.
Oh! how pleased they are to be really giving!
"In the past, you know you know, you were always so
fly-away.
So seldom came to the window-sill, so rarely
Shared the delicious crumbs thrown into the yard.
Here is a delicate fragment and her a tit-bit
As good as new. And here's a morsel of relish
And cake and bread and bread and bread and bread."

At night, in the wide bed
With the leaves and flowers
Gently weaving in the darkness,
She is like a wounded bird at rest on a pool.
Timidly, timidly she lifts her head from her wing.
In the sky there are two stars
Floating, shining...
O waters--do not cover me!
I would look long and long at those beautiful stars!
O my wings--lift me--lift me!
I am not so dreadfully hurt...

Another Day

What seems like such a winter's tale
Lightening runs through the fallen flames
By kneeling down we're here to pray
At that point forsaken unafraid
I only wanna feel you being strong
I only wanna feel you being strong
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
Another day
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
You done that to me
Feel my breath go cold and calm
My pride is last and I sin again
And all the seasons change their scent
A year of hell they come against my head once more
I only wanna feel you being strong
I only wanna feel you being strong
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
Another day
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin

Im Alive

Mmmmm ... mmmmm ...
Mmmmmmmmmmmm
I get wings to fly
Oh, oh ... Im alive ...
Yeah
When you call on me
When I hear you
Breathe
I get wings to fly
I feel that Im alive
When you look at me
I can touch the sky
I know that Im alive
Mmmmm ohhhhh ahhhhhh
When you bless
The day
I just drift away
All my worries die
Im glad that im
Alive
Youve set my heart
On fire
Filled me with love
Made me a woman on
Clouds above
I couldnt get
Much higher
My spirit takes flight
Cause I am alive
Ohhhhh
When you call on me
When you call on me
When I hear you breathe
When I hear you breathe
I get wings to fly
(fly)
I feel that Im alive
(Im alive)
When you reach
For me
Raising spirits high
God knows that
That Ill be the one
Standing by
Through good and
Through
Trying times
And its only begun
I cant wait for the
Rest of my life
When you call on me
When you call on me
When you reach for me
When you reach for me
I get wings to fly
I feel thatIm alive
Yeah
When you bless

I just drift away

I know that Im alive

Wings to fly
God knows that Im alive

No Father?

At times I feel so hurt because i got wounded so deeply.
I know You are there for me, Father my peace and comfort.
I turn towards you murmuring the word 'Father' and slowly.
I look towards you and pour out my pain and the much hurt

Even though I do not have a loving father to this day
I have You who is my true caring Father who loves me fully
When I am hurting, seeing other children happy today
due to the fact they have a loving father who loves them wholly.

I am so hurt, looking at my friends who have such a great live.
I am not enving them, all I want is to be happy and to be loved.
but then I see You turning towards me, You show me so much love
Lord You comfort me like a true father would, I feel so loved

Like a ray of sunshine I sense Your gentle kind fatherly comfort
I pray to you Father when I am in misery, pain or when happy
I realise I have You my true Father so I am free no more hurt.
I pray to you Lord, day and night so that I am no more weary.

When I am sad I slowly cry out to You in a desperate voice of mine
I call onto to You saying these words, 'Father, Father, Father'
I do like calling You father because I get the joy, oh so divine.
I love You so deeply My true compationate Heavenly Father.

When I pray I say, 'Father My provider, Father My God'
My whole prayer are full of the words 'Father'.......father, father
I am thankful that You gave me Your truly fatherly love Lord.
I love you so much even though I have no loving father.

I do not know why I refer to my God as 'Father' not Lord or God
but I find this peace and satifaction when I do call You father
I love my Heavenly Father so much, oh how you give joy, oh God
I somehow find comfort when call on You, You are my only loving father

Oh how Jesus loves me...............How I love Him

Once I Flew

Once I flew
And it made my fingertips sing
I was more like a God than a king
Now I cant believe that was true
Once I flew
Though you dont believe me I know
You look where Im standing now
You cant believe I left the ground.
Look up to the bright blue sky
Cant you feel life passing by
If you could wouldnt you
Try to soar over everything?
All the pain this world can bring
Once I flew now Ive lost my wings
Now Im down here with you
Now Im down here with you
Once I flew
And the angels were my friends
They would grant me every whim
Now I cant believe that was true
Once I flew
Though its easy to forget
I dont seem to have managed yet.
And I dont think I ever will
Look up to the bright blue sky
Cant you feel the life passing by?
If you could wouldnt you
Try to soar over everything?
All the pain this world can bring
Once I flew now Ive lost my wings
Now Im down here with you
Now Im down here with you.
And in my dreams I am happy again
Youre in my arms and were flying
Again, flying away.

Roll Over Minutes

Say what?
I have not seen you in years.
So good it is to see you.
I feel like breaking down in tears.

But then within one hour,
You receive a call on your cell phone,
From a long lost aging relative...
Who has fallen and can't get up.
And afraid to be alone.

'I'm sorry, honey.
I have to cut this visit short.
You know how it is with family...
They know just who to call.
Those who will stop to prioritize 'them'.
Regardless of what it is...
Those loyal like me abort! '

Say what?
I have not seen you in years.
So good it is to see you.
I feel like breaking down in tears.

And I'm trying to be understanding.
With no demands on your time.
I know how deep you are in it.
But you tell your family...
I am the one in need,
Of those roll over minutes!

Fugue 2 / Song Of Daedalus

Call me cool as january
I walk like the breeze
And wear the world like filigree
Call me too large for life
Thats only sticks and stones
Im standing so tall
It seems that Ive grown
Call me irresponsible
Your rules of the game
Are only clouds to float above
Call me, lets do lunch
When I get time for girls
Im working on things
To astonish the world
Call me weird and laugh at me
I tell you its true
Ive found a cure for gravity
Call me mad as march
High as in hogmanay
Just watch me and weep
Im out of this maze
See the wings made of feathers, of wax and of thread
See me soar high above all the quick and the dead
Call me now
Call me stars and moon and plough
Call me lord, call me sire
Call me earth and wind and fire
Call me judge, call me shah
Call me king, call me tsar
Call me god

Always Think Of Heaven

When Family loves you, you can tell
Always think of Heaven; never Hell
When Family photos are taken, they exude all
Always think of Heaven; Peter and Paul
When Family is together, there is a word 'kiss'
Always think of Heaven; Genesis
When Family creates, the best feeling around
Always think of Heaven; actually solid ground
When Family reunions, are the years' events
Always think of Heaven; you are Heaven sent
When Family members, are graduating school
Always think of Heaven; actually really cool
When Family takes a fall, then just has to rest
Always think of Heaven; it will be the best
When Family has turmoil, agony and pain
Always think of Heaven; it actually helps again
When Family needs a break, in life's' game
Always think of Heaven; that's where the Lord remains

And when i hurt you and cause you pain

It's hard enough i know just to feel your own pain
It's hard enough i know to feel, feel your own pain
All that i know is just what you tell me
All that i know is just what you show me
