Ghosts Of The Sea
Calyx of forgotten souls
Crushed in the labyrinth
The sea whispers with ghosts
Cold night of the mariner
I hear the sigh of time
Every cry a breath of starlight
These dreams wash ashore
All your shelter leaves you
She fades like a winters day
No footprints along the tide
Seagulls circle golden history
Baroque poetry elegant as blue
Royal blue filled with radiant love
Ambiguous as the free will
Hard like diamond sextant notions
Under the sea my heart shines
Do we belong too one another?
Will the eastern sun bring us home?
I seek your values
I seek everyman free
I am the poor and frightened
You are the vulnerable
You are the divorced and hurting
We are the ghosts of the living sea
No epithet on the mystic waters
Names in ancient mystery
Caverns deep with leviathan
Wedding rings of the four winds
Empires rage tossed in the waves
Our ship joins mighty Neptune
Mountain villages with lanterns
Kelp and seaweed by our grave
Icy waters of the gracious Irish Sea
Crypts of the dusky Black Sea
For the sea shall give up its dead
A thousand tongues of the wind
We are beneath the pirate ships
Let the tides sing of love
Stars over the mighty Atlantic
Gales howl and we are at peace
Snowmelts like icy rivers of joy
Blending takes brave trust
Closer and wet with volcanoes
Islands swept with hurricanes
We were here and still are
Our candles join the tides
Moonlight eyes stare at me
The wind has called us
Whispering ghosts of the sea

Soft As Heaven
Your arms of the Taj Mahal
You capture the drowning feathers
Red crinoline rainbows
Norway pines sighing in the Rockies
Sky with visitors
Venus has winds of fire
Buffalo like ghosts of the plains
We ride the crest of the tides
Slow rhythmic mystic tides
Gather the philodendrons
Dream on golden fields
Sing in the honey meadows
Breeze with fingers of poetry
Dreams sing like crystal rivers

I Have Fallen
I am the mask of iron chiffon
Denied access to your rebellious rain
We hunt like unborn lovers
Waiting for the wet moon
Fallen like stars as bright as purple
Proper golden doors stay shut
Can you hear me call?
Will you wrap your lace?
I await your cryptic poetry
Secret like the dawn of tides
Tides that flood my night
Tides as warm as red fire
Let me drink until I am guilty
You haunt me like the wind
Open those gates that make me pray
Silk gates of Irish fishnet
The high elves of regal blue
Forests in the flames of joy
Satin gowns like ancient ghosts
Timely counsel where rubies speak
Emerald stars bright as shamans
I left the heavens for your kiss
Tempestuous sea sweeps the kelp
Brazen moonlight cradles my heart
Rings of mandolin wine
Shrouded like sirens of Ulysses

Sea Caves
Your garlic and sage roses
Your half moon sea
The waters rise like an oak tree
Boughs of pure crystal joy
Blue gray soul of seraphim eyes
Now the sea showers the shore
I am the hidden man
Golden treasures in caves
I hear the tide go in and out
We search for real dreams
Islands maroon the heart
Protons and neutrons in balance
Man asleep waiting to see her eyes
Woman knowing she is love
These kelp shores wait for you
I long to hold you in the moonlight
Your smile silent as morning
Seagulls soar with freedom
All the walls have crumbled
We share the serene stars of peace
Mystic warm waters surround
Topaz blended with sapphire
Violet touch amidst lime green

Cherubs
Cyan sky of liquid marble
Dreams rain singing doorways
Walk like vibrant eternity
Some know Egypt is real
They die in blue circles
Rise where love feasts
Hear voices of golden shores
I see the hallways of joy
Intuition preludes surround
Stars sail like strange avenues
We divide the divine signs
Tablature of cryptic Genesis
She stops for the cat on the road
Siamese eyes of mercy
Labyrinths where Apache hunted
Burial grounds of eagle souls
Satyr horses ride the northern tribes
Moving ghosts of buffalo herds
Listen to the wind of roses
Red roses where wine flows
Ancient wanderings
Dry places of pain
Now the restless tides change
Ships of dead time join the legions
Many have rings and spells
Leave Pharaohs dark magicians
Candles where souls meet the night
We war with dark angels
We move in a sold world
The wilderness is dark with shadows
Their fallen faces snarl
They stare like gargoyles
Now love comes like a storm
Tangled in the principalities
We are the dying amidst the dead
Called to live and change
The valley of idols calls
Drowned in a thousand lusts
Weak and chained
Caress the land of giants
No past, no nations
Identity of the called
We are spectacles of love
Leave the house of stone
Leave the altars of Baal
Time is a transgression
The inward man is renewed

We Are Dreams
Walk like children on river moonlight
Sovereign stars of infinite gentle topaz
She shines like spring waters
Laramie ribbons shoulder the dawn
Mountain mist with blue ice eyes
Drink from streams with no adultery
Inspiration from the winter sun
Green peppermint dreams
Purple dresses swoon the market
No twisted thorns shall ruin the day
Gifts of joy swell the river
Diamond smiles circle the night
Dusk has no war only ships of peace
Gardens march like childhood
Naïve blue sky speaks softly
The bass is deep like a galaxy
Wings bright as mellow gold
A voice of wisdom shall prevail
Lets wear flowers that sing
The shore brings scallion colors
We are revealed in naked mercy
The ages live like rainbows
Streets dance with embroidered sage
Aspen gather the singing stars
Made by fire in the ancient ways
Seeds with trees of angels
Growing in free gardens of peace
Tribes of gardens will win
No fear shall stand against love
We are the unorganized momentum
Turquoise grows like innocence
Isn’t it beautiful to feel the universe?
Rejoice amidst your eternal friends
We come up from the strange sea
Revel in the haunting wind
Eons sail in the pirate rainbows
Remember every tender touch
Every vibration sent by love
Shells with pink dawns sing
Time melts like centuries flow
We gather roses of mystical suns
Radiant waves sigh with stars
Paint your crayon hearts
We are dreams of infinite today

Bernadette
Waves of moonlight flow
She is the giving sea
I am the land of loneliness
She walks the whispering shore
She prays by the silent dawn
We connect like tropic waters
Parrots along the river
Vines with mystic leaves
Ancient waves of wholeness
Ripe fruit sings in the wind
Your fire glows in forest roses
Dreams sigh with golden flesh
Your words bring the tide
Ancient shells of Aphrodite
Women as strong as stars
Necklace of regal desire
Your wet beasts haunt me
Bernadette glows in the moonlight

The Ghosts of the Sea
The ghosts of the sunken ships remember the fog,
Reminiscent of the danger of a wild, mad dog.
Hidden it the darkness it came into the night,
everyone aboard the sailing ship became affright.
They lost their way in that thick cloud as they fell the rhythm of the waves,
They could hear the water as it crashed against the shore and the caves.
Before the sailor knew it they were in the sea among the rolling, foaming crests,
The deep sea was calling them as the waves broke across their breasts.
The high seas had taken another ship as it lay battered among the rocks, moving
slowly with tide,
Softly they could hear the whispering of the fog as it spoke to the ocean wide.
The ghosts of the sea beckon as the ocean becomes a sheet of glass,
The fog has lifted and the ghosts for the deep invite the ships who would dare pass.

The War of the Ghosts
Three Ghosts that haunt me have I,
Three Ghosts in my soul that fight,
Three grandsire Ghosts in my soul,
That haunt me by day and by night.
The first was a dark mountaineer,
Who hunted with arrow and knife,
To whom the turf was a bed,
And the wind of the moorland was life.
And the next was a mariner rude,
Whose home and whose grave was the sea,
For whom the land was a prison
And only the ocean was free.
And the last was a shrunken recluse,
Who lived with the dust and the gloom
And wrote of the Saints and of Him
Who went for us to His doom.
And all through the days and years
These ancient Ghosts contend,
And my soul is a battle-field
Of passions that pierce and rend.
And whenever a sunbeam alights
All gleaming and fresh on my page,
I am wild for the hills and the bush,
I am torn with the hunter's rage.
I am sick of the smell of a book,
I am off with the dogs or a gun,
Or I gallop my fifty miles
Before the set of the sun.
And yet from some loftier peak
When I look on the sea from afar,
I feel like one in a grave;
And I long for a ship full-sailed
And an ocean wide on the lee
I choke on the solid land
For the lift of the undulant sea.
Yet ever the battle goes on,
And ever there rises a day
When the Ghosts of the wave and the wood
To the Ghost of the cell give way.
Then the land is a wilderness drear,
And dismal and vast is the sea,
But cloistered in peace with my books
My soul is uplifted and free.
Three Ghosts that haunt me have I,
Three Ghosts in my soul that fight,
Three grandsire Ghosts in my soul,
That haunt me by day and by night.
Yet ofttimes there joins in the fray
One gross and sluggish of limb,
No spectre is he but a man,
Whose strokes are heavy and grim.
For a man is not nothing, I swear,
Nor a braggart am I when I boast
That though he be slothful or sleep,
A man is more than a ghost.
And my soul is my own, I aver,
The master and lord of it I,
And whenever I will to bestir,
All ghostly usurpers shall fly.
Then I what is mine will assume,
Nor diverge from the path of my will.
Though the Ghosts I have routed still call
From the desk and the sea and the hill.

Caves Of Dharma
Out from the caves
Kelp shores in the moon
We wait
Crying like falling stars
Hollow caves filled with time
Sisters with courage
Sisters wanting open fields
We are not going back
Bold as golden lions
Recovered from the incest
Severed from the chauvinism
She smiles again like azaleas
Eastern lanterns bring free winds
Out of the grip of gargoyles
Out of cold stone religion
The God of the cross reaches
Personal relationships replace ritual
Her dog runs along the sea
Black silk young with vision
Living by the ancient dreams
The wind blows her wild hair
The doors are the tides
Meadows of jubilant pearls
Nothing harvested by the dark lord
Rows of costumes burned
No victims crying
No molds that crystallize
Wear the shells of sea
Wear the beads of the land
Aqua eyes shine with dawn
Sacred souls gentle as clover
Sun inward and outward
Scallion ships with herbs
Decorate your heart with sky
Let the breeze carry your love
We are out forever from the caves
Her dress of summer roses
Mauve dances like purple life
Fountains of color in fauve night
Existential bliss revels
Justification in eyes of wonder
Grow your seeds like foreign love
Lentils, celery garnish kitchen poetry
Old farm houses with soft light
Paris breathes on the walls
Never let the madness win
Their endless war
Doves fly among the stars
Reflect the apple orchids
Exile is fools gold
Mountain streams are true jewels
She paints for the spring
Join hands children of begonias
Music fills the caves

Divine Spice
Beneath the ashes golden rivers
Feathers preened in gentle winds
Beacons like snow capped mountains
Shine on all you humble friends
Gold finches with ebullient joy
Her marvelous smile is a dream
Fields of yellow daffodils
Wreaths made of ancient streams
Muse wiser than great Solemn
Sleep in dreams of acacia and honey
Spirit of the garden gently blows
She awakes the fire of dawn in me
Night blazes with cleansing fire
Zephyrs of first delicate love
Recipients of eternal stars
The mystic moon shines above
Perfume rich from apple blossoms
Barley sires elegant meadows of time
Radiant soul elegant as maple leaves
Autumn shelters beauties sweet delight
Voices gentle with patience sing forever
The cloak of the muse in purple twilight
Candles shine on her face of rapture
Stars of ruby queens prickle the night
Tides glow with embellished blue
Light dances like mysterious elves
Gatherings of the oaks and pines
Owls amidst the eagle’s high realm
Born in rivers laced with romance
The royal sea sparkles in her eyes
Nectarines in orchards of cinnamon
Love is truly the eternal divine spice

Laurels Of Green
Trees filled with starlight
Wise rivers in the root of life
Cedar leaves banners of Solomon
White pine laugh with the elves
Poems of the ancient sequoias
Whispering forests by the sea
We are the fallen race of men
They have not been banished
They are free with no guilt or shame
They know no war like strife of man
They speak of the fire from above
We walk softly on velvet moss
Wild flowers, apple orchards, ferns
My darling have you heard?
Lets go out tonight in the moonlight
Blueberries grow free and wild
Eagles filled with grace and joy
Oak and basswood, grapevines
The grass awaits the savory rain
Solitude walks in the morning dew
Have you seen the magic islands?
Decorated with lavish palm trees
Coconuts, pineapples, breadfruit grow
Sandy beaches lit with tropic sun
Volcanoes rise like spires of mystery
Paradise by a sea of green blue dreams
Beads of seeds with spells of shamans
A crown of green that rules the night
Hear tides crash into the mountains side
Rain forests with tendrils of Eden
Tread on bareback mountains gloom
Where winds sing pure and free
Steep as love near precipitous gorges
Beauty walks amidst clouds and rainbows
Waterfalls fill with pristine melting snow
Streams feed the rivers of unyielding myth
Forests of shining green fill the valley
Stars glisten through the pines of night
Like ancient eyes that guard the earth
This land is filled with a mystic glow
Lovers of the great father sun
Old like legends of gnomes and moonbeams
No guile or pretense no masks to wear
Violets, peonies, orchids and the rose
Lilies on ponds and fields
Graced with the voice of song birds
Breezes in your hair of gold
Tales of the winds of old
When the trees ruled in gentle peace
Lovers need the laurels of green

Legend of the Sea
Many years ago
A story was told to me
About a mighty Triton
And his Goddess of the sea
~~~~~~*****~~~~~~
Two sweethearts met upon the shore
Touching ~ holding hands
Speaking softly as they left
Their footprints in the sand
A kiss they shared ~ so tenderly
Love shone with golden light
Enraptured in the setting sun
Souls filled with sweet delight
Wind whispered low ~ to the surging tide
As it edged ~ ever so near
To join the lovers standing close
Not seeing the waves appear
With gentle flow ~ the cunning tide
Moved across the land
To capture the magic essence
Of love's spirit in the sand
The tide ~ it made a mighty surge
And pulled the lovers out to sea
As they held tightly to each other
Their love tossed ~ through eternity
Now through the years ~ a legend grew
About these lovers in the sand
And how the sea did claim them
For it desired their love so grand
On evening tide ~ so many say
If you walk down by the sea
You'll see the golden lovers
Frolicking ~ wild and free
It's said the sea was jealous
For a love that could not be
And the lovers became immortal
With the greatest love you'll ever see
Yes, he is the mighty Triton
She is his Goddess of the sea
And they will stay among the waves
In love ~ for eternity....
Temptation
Night comes, she retreats from love
Winter tears water her memories
Enough pain, she closes the door
Snow falls lightly, hearts freeze
No lavender or soft blue only shadows
Behind thick walls her poetry sighs
Art from the dark soul without sun
Cold frosted illicit moonlight shines
Temptation walks along the lost sea
Silver bracelets and golden chains
Eyes pierce through my weakness
By the fire she burns and waits
The treasures of lust howl like wolves
Winding stairways haunted with ghosts
Masks of feasts from ancient Castles
Winds blow along the barren coast
Collect lost souls with thighs of sin
Creatures dead dance in crimson red
Deep inside the islands become desert
Run from the stars to your fallen bed
She burns like Poe's House of Usher
Frozen lioness eyes raging with war
She calls my name and I must go
Between good and evil my soul is torn
Tonight silence pounds like drums
Her gown is silk and fine black lace
Loneliness springs like an endless well
Aquiline beauty in a Goddesses face
I enter into temptations moonlight
Shamans and Dreamers
Rise to the occasion, feathers and drums
Let the colors of the rainbow shine
These myths have faces, let them dance
Music is a shaman
Ghosts play in the sacred fire
Ancient voices come out of their graves
Vast rivers of life flow in quiet soul
Visions shelter interior hallways
Dreamers induce the mystic pathway
Cool summer breeze deep with ancestry
Eyes of night bright with oracles
The old clock chimes
Moonlight glow on the lake
Wolfs howl in the distant forest
Tears bring memories by a camp fire
Sailors on royal ships, marooned
Watery graves of sunken antiquity
Spirits in the world of shadow
We are the living past, tell their stories
We are the scribes of true history
Stars play like ancient divine thespians
Shamans and dreamers feel chills tonight
Forever Born
Bequeath solemn blue dreams
Parley with golden rain
Sigh like timeless clarion wind
Shelter the diamond forest
Regal waters of ancient mystery
The sea calls with ancient sirens
Galleons desire ghost pirates
Escape the mist of Aegean eyes
Fire in the city like hard shoulders
Cold fire rising in new prisons
Muted screams dappled by Apollo
Steeples painted silver and red
Some leave their body
Thrust into ever lasting karma
Tired of tragic molds of earth
Midnight shelters broken walls
Boundaries drenched in mantra
Mirth shadows dance in moonlight
Nothing refined in pagan freedom
The land is bound in fear
Now we suffer for our sins
Ground of Paris hot with ghost
These silent ages have left
These friends that cry
Bells mourn in the frail rain
All this freedom with no summer
Clouds deliver promises
Living clouds filled with nests
The storm has left blue seashells
Legato chorus beyond revolt
Perception shines like reveling stars
Pizzicato pause awaken in the sea
Listen to the soft sweet rain
Let the sun shed its tears
Choice is a bright new day
The land is full of cheer
Yes! The tides sing and rejoice
Visitors are really here
Crucible beginnings in risen wonder
No persuasions
Forever light
Forever born
Mandolins
Hear the mandolins play like summer
Rain pounds my steeple soul
Integration is a dream of gardens
Amidst universal stars I cry
Amidst winds of azure I laugh
Between the plague and shoreline
Illumined poetry by the sea
Seagulls and tides evangelize
Poetry as sweet as rainbows
Mercy soothes the troubled life
Psychosomatic angst
Music heals like songbirds
You my love bring me hope
I cannot worry about everything
I must do my part
I must always see beauty
Some seem prone to despair
Cynical words run like sewers
Wondrous sky has no cynicism
Blue shines like another kingdom
Acoustic guitars like free forests
Love has elves and rivers
Love has beauty and gentle fields
Love has stars and moonlight
Listen to the mandolins ring
Mystic Earth
Mystic earth restores the sacred traveller
Mountains where wolves play with sojourners
Seeds deep with wisdom grow their life
Humble villages where trees laugh
Festive mushrooms, leaves of healing
Shamans of the ancient forest
Evil men know nothing of timeless medicine
Fruit from Eden replenishes pilgrims
The meek know the garden is a door way
Tonight crickets sing, pines listen with joy
Cedars are like great owls of time
Rivers flow with sweet peace
Your never alone, they are wondrous friends
Elves are not fairy tales, wake up!
Clover grows to magnify the green spirit
Fire flies play like shooting stars
Drink from a waterfall of wood gnomes
The cry of the loon haunts a magic night
Summer flowers sing such fine melodies
Hear the wind bring the voice of comfort
Rain on the daffodils blesses the oaks
Moonlight on yellow geraniums gather love
Rainbow fall will soon dance for the great King
All are invited to the harvest of beauty
She wears jewelry made of dappled sun light
Golden waves like the sea flowing in the universe
Opal, Topaz, diamonds forged from tribal ghosts
Beryl and onyx sigh with queens of ancient bliss
Eagle feathers lift the spirit into turquoise blue
Open the gates of the gifted Sequoias, giants
Dawn is a meeting of many noble angels
Look at Jupiter serenade the lovers moon
Stars smile for the hearts of searchers
The earth is a grand mystic friend
The Banshee
Green, in the wizard arms
Of the foam-bearded Atlantic,
An isle of old enchantment,
A melancholy isle,
Enchanted and dreaming lies;
And there, by Shannon's flowing,
In the moonlight, spectre-thin,
The spectre Erin sits.
An aged desolation,
She sits by old Shannon's flowing,
A mother of many children,
Of children exiled and dead,
In her home, with bent head, homeless,
Clasping her knees she sits,
Keening, keening!
And at her keen the fairy-grass
Trembles on dun and barrow;
Around the foot of her ancient crosses
The grave-grass shakes and the nettle swings;
In haunted glens the meadow-sweet
Flings to the night wind
Her mystic mournful perfume;
The sad spearmint by holy wells
Breathes melancholy balm.
Sometimes she lifts her head,
With blue eyes tearless,
And gazes athwart the reek of night
Upon things long past,
Upon things to come.
And sometimes, when the moon
Brings tempest upon the deep,
The roused Atlantic thunders from his caverns in the west,
The wolfhound at her feet
Springs up with a mighty bay,
And chords of mystery sound from the wild harp at her side,
Strung from the hearts of poets;
And she flies on the wings of tempest
With grey hair streaming:
A meteor of evil omen,
The spectre of hope forlorn,
Keening, keening!
She keens, and the strings of her wild harp shiver
On the gusts of night:
O'er the four waters she keens--over Moyle she keens,
O'er the Sea of Milith, and the Strait of Strongbow,
And the Ocean of Columbus.
And the Fianna hear, and the ghosts of her cloudy hovering heroes;
And the swan, Fianoula, wails o'er the waters of Inisfail,
Chanting her song of destiny,
The rune of weaving Fates.
And the nations hear in the void and quaking time of night,
Sad unto dawning, dirges,
Solemn dirges,
And snatches of bardic song;
Their souls quake in the void and quaking time of night,
And they dream of the weird of kings,
And tyrannies moulting, sick,
In the dreadful wind of change.
Wail no more, lonely one, mother of exiles, wail no more,
Banshee of the world--no more!
The sorrows are the world's, though art no more alone;
Thy wrongs, the world's.
