Tablet

TABLET

Mountain tablet, steep protective sides,
Above savannah security provides,
Green pastures, flora, fauna, stretch below,
Imagination catalyzed may flow
Creatively, seek what horizon hides.
Maybe lost world jurassic here abides.

Depressed Vilanelle

They say depression's like exhaustion of the brain
And medication's there to help us cope.
A daily tablet keeps me nearly sane

When life brings sorrow over and again
The mind lacks even energy to mope,
They say depression's like exhaustion of the brain.

All passion and desire go down the drain
Soon followed by enthusiasm, hope,
A daily tablet keeps me nearly sane.

Give up the struggle. What is there to gain?
Recovery becomes a slippery slope.
They say depression's like exhaustion of the brain.

But medication's there to ease the pain,
Reduce the gradient as back to life we grope:
A daily tablet keeps me nearly sane.

So praise the Prozac in sonnet or quatrain.
It keeps a chap from Paraquat or rope.
They say depression's like exhaustion of the brain:
A daily tablet keeps me nearly sane.

Go Sling Your Bloody Hook

My tablet broke the other day,
I went and told my Mum,
I never meant to cause affray,
But are adults really that dumb.

She told me not to worry,
Things could be much worse,
I'll get it fixed in a hurry,
Or on me you can place a curse.

I thought my mind was playing tricks,
She couldn't possibly know?
How to get my tablet fixed,
Her demons must have her in tow.

She shouted out it's all in hand,
I'm heading for the shops,
It won't take long you understand,
My devotion to you never stops.

Within an hour she was back,
I thought this can't be right,
She said no need to give me flak,
Your future's looking bright.

Your tablet couldn't be sorted,
So I bought you one brand new,
At that I just retorted,
I know this I am going to rue.

Here it is she said to me,
I want you to close your eyes,
Playing along filled her with glee,
Try this one out for size.

She said I know you'll be overawed,
Scottish tablet is the best,
I opened my eyes and thought, my God,
What I saw had me distressed,

A bar of sugar lay on the table,
I said, Mum are you bloody mad,
Adults really are unstable?
They're all Unhinged and really sad.

She said I thought you'd love it,
I didn't know where to look,
At that she told me to shove it,
Then said,

‘' Go Sling Your Bloody Hook ‘'

Beyond Beyond

BEYOND BEYOND

Two thralling eyes, unlatched,
Attractive and unmatched,
Reveal, no strings attached,
Signs seeking to respond
In many ways beyond
Eternity, beyond
Restrictions, to true bond.

Lost for Words

LOST FOR WORDS

The art of writing's such a sport
with styles of every kind and sort
that not to try would be a tort.
Synaptic leaps can keep, support,
ideas which interlink, report
mind melodies naught need contort
as eyes observant insight court:
imagination is my forte - right!

As interlocking lines of thought
are threaded neatly, tautly brought
to heel, reined in, discreetly taught
to underscore ideas, here’s sought
communication vectors caught
in lightning thought wave flashes short,
coherent, to the point! ... Now ought
I not recall the subject about which I meant to write?

Never A Drug-addict Be

A lad went to a chemist
With a big medicine list
Where one puzzling item
Wasn't familiar to him.

'A tablet for happiness, '
Never in his business,
He heard of, any time,
Was that unusual item.

However, he gave a small tablet,
That no where anyone could get,
What the lad ate and thought,
Of no more stress to worry about

The brain, a drug can knock off
And give him a momentary take off
To an unknown distant paradise,
With no pride or prejudice.

But to the hell he'll return,
To fall back again to yearn,
For that hours of happiness lost,
And take the drug till his days last.

Happiness comes not from outside,
But is generated in the heart inside,
With no stress or over-strain
To the God-given wonderful brain.

The charm on objects whatever
Material stays not for ever.
It's in the everlasting spiritual mind
An eternal happiness one can find.

Never a drug-addict be,
Nor go after momentary glee,
But in the divine path see
How happy you're going to be?

Coarse power course over horse sense - 1375

Figurant half-hidden fades below
the plodding hoofs of half forgotten years,
from chariot to dray spanned, disappears.
Hansom, carriage, coach and four seem slow
compared to fleeting Change as change of gears
speeds up events, time feeds on time, view blears.
Dream scheme seems cavalry careers whose flow
once spun the wheels of empires' fates, cocks crow
show 'brave new world', few horse sense hold though tears
nostalgic some still shed for pastures green
as time tides on while beauty rides unseen.

Progress

Progress

Progress expresses courage, leaves behind
All unhappiness as heart can start
Making up time lost. Each puzzle part
Eases into place within the mind, -
Light the touch, much tension may unwind
Allowing scope for hope, new worlds to chart.
Problems solved, and walls dissolved with art,
Augur pastures green, set scene to find
Magic harbour safe, serene, assigned, -
Excluding pressures in a world apart.
Life takes on fresh colours à la carte
And offers fair reflection unconfined.
PAMpered past to self acceptance cedes,
ELAtion follows as vain pain recedes

Love Warning Carved In Wise Stone

in quiet wise hamlet of Aneyoshi
in Iwate Prefecture northern Japan
a centuries-old stone tablet stands
warns of danger of tsunami waves

a single centuries-old tablet message
a love warning carved in old stout stone
a blessing bestowed on all descendants
a blessing outlasting survivor memories

'High dwellings are the peace
and harmony of our descendants, '

'Remember the calamity
of the great tsunamis.
Do not build any homes
below this point.'

advice blessed dozen plus wise households
of Aneyoshi ancestor descendants heeded
their homes all high built emerged unscathed
a disaster safe huge wave in swept flattened

all low-lying communities elsewhere killed
thousands along Japan's northeastern shore

Garden Sunshine

GARDEN SUNSHINE

Garden which wild wilderness attested
Awash with colours now greets eye-in-dream.
Rich profusion prospers unprotested,
Dragonflies hover, honeybees here teem,
Enchants with wonder, pleasure uncontested,
Nature's splendour welcoming sun's beam.
SUNdry blooms here groomed, there random seem,
SHINE, rain, remain inspiring and unbested.

Grass lawn graceful, verdant, uncongested,
Assuages anguish. Nearby silver stream
Rich irrigation adds, as swan, glebe crested
Drift on lazy current. Joy supreme.
Evergreen and annuals unmolested
No high walls know, turn mind from urban theme.
SUNset scarlets, strawberry dawn scheme
SHIft NEts of light, draw cheerful robin nested.

Renaissance

RENAISSANCE

Friendship dances into sight,
An incarnation of delight,
Leaves none who can continue to
Love's light deny, nor spirit true.
Entranced, rose pales, then ruby too, -
Night banished ever to invite
Forever fallen to see through
One glance's fair reflection bright,
Restoring hope as wings for flight
Enchanted find strength as, on cue,
Vain fears of falling conquered quite,
Expectantly joy's splendours span
Renaissance paradise can scan...

Sure Render or Surrender, Sur Rendezvous or Sir Rendez Vous

My one half celebrates our meeting's near
And yet my other fears the tears of fear.
Undoubting, one lives US as heaven's writ,
Deterred the other by too perfect fit,
Each part completes the other's inner whole,
Completely each defeats void's empty hole,
Made one by destined synchronicity,
Maid Man ban 'ran', scan fans complicity
As natural for flowing through twinned soul
Unsure, yet too aware two can't be sole.
Dance catalyzed by chance shows love's pure state
Enhanced by 'wait', scorns concommitant weight.
Contradictions sweet sound beat for rhyme,
Make light of distance, down beat jealous Time.

Philosopher Stone

Throughout the Ages:
Alchemists have sought a magic stone,
Possessing virtues of “The Emerald Tablet”
Some mystics find truth, yet some are prone,
To exploit “Arcane” for selfish gain,
The balance of natural world they upset;
By making gold from common lead
By attempting life from what is dead
By pride and avarice they are led

In truth;

We must recognize a Spirit’s goal,
To understand that the Philosopher Stone,
Resides within the human soul…
A gift from God, which makes one whole

“So above, So below”

We then embody and extol
