Stage to Stage
One wore hoar age as well as most who count from tear to tear,
as stage succeeded stage geared down, while rage at age’s sting
increased as waning youth began to spread its restless wing,
while all too lucidly was heard furred dreaded footfall near.
One bore sore rage as well as most who post from year to year,
hale Summer paled, frail Autumn failed full promises to bring
to fruit as root from tree and shoot took little comfort. Ring
to ring adjoined seemed time purloined, no raison d’être clear.
One saw Life’s page criss-cross sage stage barred from tomorrow’s cheer,
time underlined, once wined and dined, uncertain everything
became as game and aim turned tame, lost flavour, savour, zing,
lights on life’s stage in turn caged, rage, dim, swiftly disappear.
The chronicle of wasted time, chased hasty jotted down
as witness to fear's tears, last years fast passed in study brown

Getting Old
When you’re young you think you know it all
Then you get old and life begins to unfold.
In their youth they don’t think ahead
The future is something they do not dread.
They feel that everything in life they can control
They’re young and strong and very bold.
Aaaah! Those beautiful days bring back memories
Of how simple life used to be.
Youth had respect for the elderly
And their fellow man.
Now the elderly they try to scam.
When they are older they will see
They want respect and to live with dignity.
they are young and they don’t seem to understand
That with age you may need a helping hand.
Everything in life comes in stages
It’s like a book when you turn the pages
It gets deeper and keeps you enthralled
Until the time that you reach the end
And you’ve lost all your family and friends.
The First stage is when you are a child
And someone is taking care of you for that while.
The Second stage is when you become a teen
And you feel like a king or queen.
You feel that you can not get old
This is what you believe at this stage in your life
Because you’re not looking at the struggles and strife.
The Third stage is the adolescent years
And you feel you’re in control and lose your fears.
The final stage is when you become old and gray
And your youthful years have slipped away.
You look back and ask yourself!
where did All those years go?
Why did I waste so much time?
And the most important thing is
That I am so glad I made you mine
For with you by my side I had a life divine.
So to the youth who have not gotten to this stage
Don’t get angry, and get rid of your rage.
There is no way to turn back the time
For time just moves straight ahead
You’re getting to the point that you now dread.

Players
The summer leaves in autumn fall
covering grass and garden walls.
A passing page on life’s stage
soon forgotten as the next season calls,
a circling unforgiving tide
that carries with it our passing lives.
Players are we upon the stage
of life’s ever turning page.
We live today and pray for tomorrow
that we may again grace the stage
of its next passing page.
And so life goes on
from birth and beyond
as players on the stage of life.

Draw The Curtain, Turn The Page...Close The Day...
Clear th' Stage
Draw th' Curtain
Down th' Lights
Turn th' page
Close th' Day
Ther' be nothing in this World to help me understand
Some shapes of Life that cast-out imperious shadows
Saw black crows, wings stretched...pointing skyward
Perched upon a gangly autumn tree branch......dying
Seven crow's, alas, but one was just a strange illusion
Leaving six, th' number etched upon Abbadons Beast
Watch a clock upon its wall...moves like snail on sand
Look away to savor life.....Time beats like Arrhythmia
An' what would you like to see in stone as yo'r epitaph
A Poet....A Muse.....or perhaps just a Soul of Gratitude
Then again, all in time...does it really matter any at all
When time does take us all.........to th' very same plane
This Game, this Rubics Cube........of understanding Life
Like a Passion Play with ballerina's...falling to the wood
Dark masques of pale white skin an' pink-lipped frowns
Over flesh........of pale white skin an' pink-lipped frowns
Sometimes our disguised visages, are reflecting mirrors
Yet, in th' end, when time an' we.....have far long passed
What does it matter what masques we wore....in passion
When time it comes, our time...ther' be no time to lobby
for more time to orchestrate a more auspicious outcome
Today should be th' Tomorrow we planned out Yesterday
Lifes' precious, ev'ry moment, still we need to know when
To Clear th' stage
Draw th' curtain
Down th' Lights
Turn th' Page
Close th' Day.

Separation Soon
Stage stage succeeds to sunder what
Evolved together for a while.
Page follows page until forgot
Are smiles that once caught sunny smile.
Rage follows rage, one cold, one hot,
As end awaits a stressful trial -
Trouble bursting bubble plot -
Intense unwinds to reconcile
One to one’s lot unties love's knot.
No balm spleen calms - scene volatile
Sheds shaky sighs for baby's cot,
Or sight of Spring forget-me-not.
One rage encaged until old age
No pages leaves for sot or sage.

Get Off The Stage
Oh, you silly old man
You silly old man
Youre making a fool of yourself
So get off the stage
You silly old man
In your misguided trousers
With your mascara and your fender guitar
And you think you can arouse us ?
But the song that you just sang
It sounds exactly like the last one
And the next one
I bet you it will sound
Like this one
Downstage, and offstage
Dont you feel all run in ?
And do you wonder when they will take it away ?
This is your final fling
But then applause ran high
But for the patience of the ones behind you
As a verse drags on like a month drags on
Its very short, but it seems very long
And the song that you just sang
It sounds exactly like the last one
And the next one
I bet you it will sound
Like this one
So, get off the stage
Oh, get off the stage
And when we get down off of the stage
Please stay off the stage - all day !
Get off the stage
Oh, get off the stage
And when weve had our money back
Then Id like your back in plaster
Oh, I know that you say
How age has no meaning
Oh, but here is your audience now
And theyre screaming :
Get off the stage
Oh, get off the stage
Because Ive given you enough of my time
And the money that wasnt even mine
Have you seen yourself recently ?
Oh, get off the stage
Oh, get off the stage
For whom, oh ...
For whom, oh ...
For whom, oh ...
For whom, oh ...
Get off the stage
Get off the stage
Get off the stage
For whom the bell tolls

Stevie D Jimmy And Melodie
Melodie adores Stevie D,
she compliments his style of dress to a T.
She has the memory of going to City Place
Stevie goes on the Improv comedy stage
Stevie does comedy and entertains.
Melodie laughs with Jimmy Dean,
it is one funniest acts they have ever seen!
Then Jimmy is next to go on stage,
his act is funny it's all the rage.
Melodie is then to be seen,
she is with Razel puppet and me.
Lighters light up in the air,
wild whistling everywhere,
Razel yells without a care,
'You know why I have no pupils? '
right before Melodie can jump in-
Razel has finished her line and committed the sin.
People are shocked and begin to talk.
Lights go out and Razel starts to shout,
I bow with the girls before I walk out.
What a time in 2005, where the Improv Stage comes alive.
Sharing the stage with Stevie D, Jimmy, Razel and Melodie.

Jekyll And Hyde
Your innocence all but fades
When we peel the veneer away
It's all an act which you stage
With your two faced barricades
Rage consumes
You every night
Caged inside you
Trying to get out
Schizophrenic basic needs
Fools me into complacency
But now I see through your facade
Behind the mask a monster snarls
Hatred burning
In your chest
Dazed but learning
In your quest
chorus
Oh it's killing me your unpredictability
Oh all the time
You hide behind
Your Jekyll and Hyde
Now I realise
There's a dark side
Disguised
Always changing
Then love hating
Baiting me
Your innocence all but fades
When we peel the veneer away
It's all an act which you stage
With your two faced barricades
Rage consumes you every night
Caged inside you trying to get out

30th Page
My Life, my story,
Like a play on stage
A book with a tale
Year for me, for you just a page.
The first few ones
Day's innocent, beautiful age
But time gets hard,
was destined to rage
In teens imagined
Bird trapped in a cage
Who dreams freedom
Feathers all white with a little beige.
Twenties spent, in tests n struggle
Came of age, could measure n gauge
limits and restrictions, its all in ones head
its Liberation Day on my 30th page.

Graduate, The
He has done the study
Sat all the exams
Handed in all his assignments
Now he is recognized
The walk across the stage
Long, but not long enough
We cheer and shed a tear
For our graduate
Now his future what will it be?
How will this knowledge help him?
Does he walk this stage again?
Its all up to him.

Good Enough
When footsteps from that Sunday march faded out into the dark
The melody blows in to ease the pain
Two thousand years and we're still here fighting over the same old fear
The muddy steps of hate can't stand this rain
I'll stand up on this stage as if it was my altar
I'll face down all the rage and no, I will not falter
Say I'm good enough to play but not good enough to stay
In your heart
The mat on the floor says welcome, the sign on the door says no
Says 'No coloreds allowed unless you're playing in the show'
Well I've never seen a color except the ones up in the sky
When I see this kind of hatred I die a little inside
I'll stand up on this stage as if it was altar
I'll face down all this rage and no, I will not falter
Say I'm good enough to play but not good enough to stay
And when you finish your song boy you've got to be on your way
But if I'm good enough to play then I'm good enough to stay
In your heart
This one's for the Godfather, Duke, Ella, and the Count
And for all those who fought their way here no matter the amount
For all of God's children walking through dumpsters in the back
Had to finish their show and leave just because their skin was black
They stood up on the stage as if it was their altar
They faced down all the rage and no, they did not falter
They were good enough to play but not good enough to stay
And when they finished their songs boy they had to be on their way
They were good enough to play and somehow they've always stayed
In our hearts
And if I'm good enough to play then we've got to find the space
In our hearts

We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.
Quiet Please, There's A Lady On Stage
(carole bayer-sager & peter allen)
Quiet please, there's a lady on stage
She may not be the latest rage
But she's singing and she means it
And she deserves a little silence
Quiet please, there's a woman up there
And she's been honest through her songs
Long before your consciousness was raised
Doesn't that deserve a little praise
So put your hands together and help her along
All that's left of the singer's
All that's left of the song
Stand for the ovation
And give her one last celebration
Quiet please, there's a person up there
And she's been singing of the things
That none of us could bear to hear for ourselves
Give her your respect if nothing else
Quiet please, there's a lady on stage
Conductor, turn the final page
And when it's over we can all go home
But she lives on -- on the stage alone.

Stages Of Development
Every life goes through stages,
stages of development.
It starts with our birth,
the first stage in our lives,
and ends with our death,
the final stage when we
evolve to a higher plane.
Each stage along our journey
prepares us for our final stage
and the journey
that has to be taken by us all.

There are many stages to a man's life. In the first stage, he is young and eager, like a beaver. In the second stage, he wants to build things, like dams, and maybe chew down some trees. In the third stage, he feels trapped, and then 'skinned.'' I'm not sure what the fourth stage is.

Another day to remember
That day is the day with rebound of joy.
She waited as I told, and had my call.
The same flavour was in her talk, I saw.
Her love hasn’t gone stale by time and space.
To love out of contest, one is contrite.
To leave any evidence, one is afraid.
The stage of guilt, she has passed.
The stage of qualm she is yet to pass.
Whether the qualm withers or not
Let the summer come to wilt it out.

There and back again for M 'lady Chitra
There are no blossoms to be seen.
They’ve served their turn and left the stage
The trees are clad in shades of green
One further step on their passage
from the bare twigs of winter time.
Stark silhouettes against the sky
then blossom time which is sublime
Providing pleasure for the eye/
The trees are in their summer dress
More subtle than their spring attire.
Waiting for autumn to impress
with leaves that seem to be on fire.
The autumn winds well strip them bare
and spread their glory on the ground.
A coloured blanket everywhere.
and twigs now dancing to the sound
of early winter gales that blow.
Creating eerie harmonies,
bare branches moving to and fro
produce discordant melodies.
The trees endure the winters rage,
the bitter cold and falling snow,
The know it’s just another stage
they’re well prepared to undergo.
Before the welcome spring returns
to prompt new tender leaves to grow
Followed by blossoms in their turn.
As seasons come and seasons go,

Happiness in change of stages
I went on foot to far away school.
Then I rode on a bicycle with a pride.
Later two-wheeler took me to pedestal.
Now a car. In each stage I was happy.
In each stage the intensity was same.
Every up stage is a happy stage
till it is replaced by the next stage.

Article
Article, ear, tear, trice, trace, tea, eat, at, era, it, are lair!
But, joy is the muse of love;
Where people are connected with the peaceful solution,
However, the people are confounded!
And the stage has now been turned into a boxing ring.
Article, art, tar, rat, air, tie, lie, tail, late, ale, trail, tale, rail;
But as sad as it is,
Who is ready to teach them?
For, their comments are like the acts of war!
And i do understand their background;
Because, a cat is always a cat!
Article, rate, rite, car, race, cat, cart, ice, lace, ace, rice, rile;
But the people are confounded!
And they need the works of love to guide them on than hate,
For, the stage has now been turned into a boxing ring!

Amber Autumn (Sonnet)
To some, their youth was just sublime.
Then age crept up and over time
Their joy then faded with the years
As body changes led to fears.
Their days are spent rememb’ring when...
They long to see their youth again.
For those whose youth was filled with strife,
Their autumn years are best in life.
Now their retirement Is here,
Old age is far from what they fear.
Time now to enjoy and savour
Their rewards for past times labour.
It’s time to spread their wings and fly,
To enjoy God’s gifts ‘fore they die.
