Seek Peek from Out The Blue after David Adams N'kima Speaks forelock tipped to JoVial Scavenger
He reached down, carressed her scar
and she remembered herself.
This rhyme she did not brush away
or shake, remained like Shaka the lion
She knew she was all ears, should stay.
Ear scratching pleasantly reveals
brain teasing ticklers light as Spring breeze
that begin and end
text messages
or calls from out the brightest blue
dispersing the MUST for inner might, the past's clog logs
fallen, replaced by dialogues
that beetles away from distasteful time-traps,
snub grubs, grab dainty morsels.
Dishevelled, clothes in disarray,
he lay awaiting her return,
patient without watching
the movement of all
the humming of the city,
Internet buzz and double clicks
proving mouse pads
refute the bugs that move
behind the page ink link.
Were they destined for each other
without Bragg_in, bussing to breathe debt free
where playing for time met cusp watershed springs
to and through unpolluted air clear across the ocean.
She knew him not at first, and yet
rode beside window
whispering awakening.
David Arthur Adams N'kima Speaks
I reached up and touched his scar
and he remembered me
This time he did not brush me away
or shake his mane like Numa the lion
He knew I was here to stay.
Ear scratching is pleasant and reveals
many things the same as the wind
that begins and ends
with messages
from the deepest green
the musty odor of the rotting logs
where they have fallen
the beetles that crawl there
the grubs and dainty morsels
all the places I lay in the heat of day
awaiting her to return
whiling and watching
the movement of all
the humming of the forest
the buzzing and clicks
the footpads
the little bugs that move
upon the page of it.
We were destined for each other
The clambering to the upper terraces
where the swaying springs into
the clean air across the chasm.
He did not know me then and yet
I rode upon his shoulder
manu whispering awakening.

No Return
Im at the point of no return
Im watching the candle burn
Both ends
Theres a lesson we
Both can learn - this time
So if you wanna make my day
Theres something
Youve gotta say
Now please dont laugh
And turn away - this time
I dont wanna make a fuss
But this is the time for us
And I aint gonna miss the buss
This time
No return
So therell be no turning back
Once I know that
Youll be by my side
No return
Maybe youll give me all the love
That you always felt
You had to hide
No return
Ive come a thousand miles
Across the ocean
But that aint half
As far as my emotion
Now Ive reached
The point of no return
While on my way down the avenue
I had to stop for a drink or two
Or three
Now not that I was stalling you
For time
Its just I wanted to feel my best
And I almost passed the test
I need your lovin to do the rest
This time
No return - so please dont ever do
What youve done
So many times before
No return
Because Ive made up my mind
That this time Ill make it
Thru your door
No return - I rode above the clouds
So far below me
But didnt get as high as
When you hold me
Now Ive reached
The point of no return

What You Never Knew
I first remember you from way back, when I was just a kid. You stopped your life and reached down to spend time with me.
I guess I'm getting rather old now, as I look back and wistfully wish. Wish that things would go back to how they use to be.
Cause you ain't there no more, to spend some time with me, find something for me to do, walk beside me, catch me when I fall.
Now I find that I'm all alone in a cold cruel world, faltering, running scared. I'm tired of running, I don't want to run no more.
Now I think I've found what you felt. The loneliness, the desolation, the desire to belong: the longing for someone who adores everything you do.
Well that was me, I followed you round. My little eyes watched your every move. You were my idol, but you never knew, that I was following you.
I would be your slave, your servant, whatever you bid. Who cares, as long as I got to be your accomplice.
Come the good times, yeah, come the trouble, I'll be there, anything just to get on your 'good friend's list.
I guess I'll never really know, if you knew I was watching, or if you were ignorant. But sometimes I wish that I knew, cause ignorance ain't always bliss.
If only you knew, how each morning, I stared into the mist, waiting for you to appear, but after so long, it's all boiled down to this.
What you never knew, is I loved you with every fiber and being of my heart. If there ever was a thing as the perfect devotee, that was me. Nothing could stop me.
What you never knew, is that I would move heaven and earth to stay close, but you let the mountains and giants make you flee.
As time passed, things got in my way. You let them cloud your vision, I didn't clear them out fast enough. Don't really know how it all collapsed.
Maybe I wasn't hard enough. Maybe I was too caring. Maybe I should have been more point-on. Maybe I should have followed my heart, but now it's crashed.
What you never knew, is that I didn't care what inflicted you, because I would walk through hell, just to carry through.
What you never knew, is that all I really cared about was you.
Story behind the poem:
There are so many things that we 'never knew'. Perhaps if we actually took the time, we might be able to discover some of those things.: D

Daze
Bugs of all types,
Crawl on the wall.
They crawl onto my body,
And I just sit there.
I stare at the TV,
And ignore the bugs.
They crawl all over me,
Up on my face,
Down my legs,
On my arms,
Everywhere.
Someone comes in,
They see all the bugs,
Covering my body now.
They scream,
And try to get me uncovered.
I just sit there,
Doing nothing but watching,
The black screen.
Once they have me uncovered,
They shake me,
But I don't come out of my daze.
I sit there,
As they call nine-one-one.
Once they get here,
They try to,
Get me out of my daze.
But even they can't.
They just leave me there,
Sitting and staring,
At a black screen.

In Vain
Well just the other day
While alone in my room
I said to myself
I need something new
Ive cut a new life slice
And feed the lions twice
And theyll shake their manes in confusion
My love
My loves in vain
My love
Put a bet on everything
Itll come up fine
My fingers are crossed
And tapping in time
You got a pretty face
Such a pretty pretty face
You can brush your own mane
Fame is your pain
Maybe an older woman
Will show me a way
To ease those creases
And crave no reasons
cause reasons are with gods
Theres a heaven within me
But we all shake our manes in confusion
Should I grab you by the collar
Or just go my way
With a knife between my clean white teeth
Dont want your feather in my cap
Dont care about that
You can brush your own mane
Fame is your pain

Watching Me Watching You
I sit by the cutting on the beaconsfield line.
Hes watching me watching the trains go by.
And they move so fast --- boy, they really fly.
Hes still watching me watching you watching the
Trains go by.
And the way he stares --- feel like locking my door
And pulling my phone from the wall.
His eyes, like lights from a laser, burn
Making my hair stand --- making the goose-bumps crawl.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me
Im watching you watching him watching me
Watching stares.
At the cocktail party with a bucks fizz in my hand
I feel him watching me watching the girls go by.
And they move so smooth without even trying.
Hes still watching me watching you watching the
Trains go by.
And the crowd thins and he moves up close but he doesnt speak.
I have to look the other way.
But curiosity gets the better part of me and I peek:
Got two drinks in his hand --- see his lips move ---
What the hells he trying to say.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me.
Im watching you watching him watching me
Watching stares.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me.
Hes watching me watching you watching
The trains go by.
Hes watching me watching you watching him
Watching me.
Hes watching me watching you watching him watching me.
Hes watching me watching you watching him watching me watching him watching.

It was just there
It was at the dance floor
under the Neelsie,
where I saw her sokkie
and every movement
was perfect.
When she walked to me
her long blonde hair,
was made in a French plait
and I was captured by her bright blue eyes.
There was something especially beautiful to her,
but suddenly my feet were made of lead
and I could almost not speak
or even move.
From somewhere she knew,
maybe out of another life
or another time,
that we were destined to dance.
Of sokkie I knew nothing,
but along with her
every movement was just there.
[References: Neelsie=> Stellenbosch University’s Neelsie student centre. Sokkie=> ”a Sokkie is a social dance with a partner. The word sokkie refers to the way people dance in their socks, without shoes. This is not always the case, but this type of dancing is always called sokkie. Folklore has it that this type of dancing was taken from the American style: Sock-Hop”]

The Dead End
'I looked above and tried to find'
Those lovely eyes which were so kind
I trusted her and remained completely dependent
She was around me all the time and present
My eyes have become wet and not probing
I feel helpless, tired and only sobbing
I fear about somebody's presence
Hence look down and don't raise the face
The life time bond should not break
It must be drawn long to converse or speak
As one may need another at any time
Couples are destined not to last long sometimes
I knew well how painful it was today?
I cried relentlessly as found no other way
She was proving unbearable with pain
I wept and remembered her again
She is no more with me in this world
I have been left alone to suffer the cold
It is almost dry and sultry surrounding
I control the sentiments but immediately rebounding
I saw her hiding in dark clouds
As she emerged with silver lining to speak loud
I was watching her helplessly
But she was there guiding me readily
'Don't feel sad´ as I am here
To show you the way with light there
You may not miss me for complete time
Shed your sadness and come out of bad time
I just listened to her words with care
They were inspiring me to dare
Not to get frightened with immediate vacuum
It would be better if I regained posture and kept mum
One day it comes in everybody's life time
We are left behind to see the painful time
Even though it is not in our hand
Yet that proves unimaginable dead land

Intimidation
The lion looked with such a look,
That's called your deepest fears...
And with your courage that he took,
Bravado disappears!
Have you the strength to move your hand?
Or lift your arm above?
Or is your movement slowly planned,
As timid as a dove?
Have you the power left to run,
The stamina to flee?
Or is the battle lost not won
And his the victory?
So many questions fill your mind...
The lion gives you time...
Just think of what he has outlined,
This super cat sublime...
He licks his lips while you're perplexed,
This prince of past pursuits
And thinks of what will happen next,
While you shake in your boots!
Intimidation, that's his game!
It's how he gets his kicks!
He lacks all conscience, knows no shame
And you've run out of tricks!
It's time to pray! God knows your need!
Ask Him as Daniel would...
For God helped Samson to succeed,
To do the feats he could.
A humble plea's more powerful
When God is on your side!
Let God grant you a miracle!
His arms will open wide...
The poem is based on the magnificent painting
by Stephen Gayford called 'Intimidation'.

Bloodshot Skies
To fly on the wings of a dragon trailing destruction in her wake,
This is all we know a nightmare set so far in stone it’s impossible to shake
In foundation, as consolidations are offered upon the sight of tragedy,
Offered the witness describes in colour the plight of imaginations pallet running dry.
Too many tears I’ve cried for the girl of skin tight denim wears
For the girl destined never to shed a tear for a love she could never
Comprehend. Understand me when I say, I never wanted it to be this way
Striding forth into the foam, roaming, searching for a place to call my own,
This is all I ask.
To swim the deepest blue in an attempt to drown my love of you
This is how I start the day, defences laid bare in every way.
As rose petals fall to autumns calling, embracing the ground as they land from flight,
Mother earth in her yawning, awaiting the dawn
As consolidations are offered upon the sight of tragedy
Offered free tears the witness describes in colour the plight of imaginations
Pallet running dry.
To awake early morning by bloodshot eyes, I’m running free from bloodshot skies,
Running, rubbing the red dirt deeper, weeping in motion.
Flooding the floor by the fears of the ocean as liquid emotion heeds Luna’s calling
Turning upon the tides a drift, shifting upon the ripples
Hear the Goddess calling you, felling hearts of pity, awaiting a return to the city from
The green. Weeping Willows herald the return of winters yearning, dying to be taught, Tied up to be caught in the fall.

Fighting For Night
Sitting and watching the sun rise
knowing time is near
time to laugh
time to smile
time to cheer
Sitting and watching the sun rise
Lyeing and watching the sun sway
over the puffy white clouds
over the bright blue sky
over a home town
Lyeing watching the sun sway
Standing and watching the sun fall
down to the ground
down to the greenest of grass
down to meet your tears
Standing and watching the sun fall
Leaning and watching the moon climb
up past the stars
up past the sun's lost glem
up to where it shins too full
Leaning and watching the moon climb
Swaying
not watching
not breathing
not hearing
not frowning
Swaying
Laughing from below
watching your body away
watching the rope in the moon light
watching gathering people
watching them cut you down
Laughing from below
Sitting and watching the sun rise
Lyeing and watching the sun sway
Standing and watching the sun fall
Leaning and watching the moon climb
Swaying
Laughing from below
Laughing

Looking For Today
Its complete but obsolete
All tomorrows become yesterday
In demand but second hand
Its been heard before you even play
Up to date but came too late
Better get yourself another name
Youre so right but overnight
Youre the one who has to take the blame
Everyone just gets on top of you
The pain begins to eat your pride
You cant believe in anything you knew
When was the last time that you cried
Dont delay youre in today
But tomorrow is another dream
Sundays star is mondays scar
Out of date before youre even seen
At the top so quick to flop
Youre so new but rotting in decay
Like butterfly so quick to die
But youre only looking for today
Everyone just gets on top of you
The pain begins to eat your pride
You cant believe in anything you knew
When was the last time that you cried
Looking for today
Glamour trip so soon to slip
Easy come but oh how quick it goes
Ten foot tall but what to fall
Hard to open yet so easy to close
Front page news but so abused
You just want to hide yourself away
Over-paid, but soon you fade
Because youre only looking for today
Looking for today

Move It On Over
Came in last night at half past ten
That baby of mine wouldnt let me in
So move it on over (move it on over)
Move it on over (move it on over)
Move over little dog cause the big dogs moving in
Shes changed the lock on my front door
My door key dont fit no more
So get it on over (move it on over)
Scoot it on over (move it on over)
Move over skinny dog cause the fat dogs moving in
This dog house here is mighty small
But its better than no house at all
So ease it on over (move it on over)
Drag it on over (move it on over)
Move over old dog cause a new dogs moving in
She told me not to play around
But I done let the deal go down
So pack it on over (move it on over)
Tote it on over (move it on over)
Move over nice dog cause a mad dogs moving in
She warned me once, she warned me twice
But I dont take no ones advice
So scratch it on over (move it on over)
Shake it on over (move it on over)
Move over short dog cause the tall dogs moving in
Shell crawl back to me on her knees
Ill be busy scratching fleas
So slide it on over (move it on over)
Sneak it on over (move it on over)
Move over good dog cause a mad dogs moving in
Remember pup, before you whine
That sides yours and this sides mine
So shove it on over (move it on over)
Sweep it on over (move it on over)
Move over cold dog cause a hot dogs moving in

Grenouillage à Trois
Deep in the forest, on two logs
were perched two rather handsome frogs.
The logs were pretty close together
and served as shelters for the weather.
Now, on the smaller of the logs
was sitting, still, the bigger frog.
He looked across and had discovered
that on a tree a third frog hovered,
apparently intent to pounce!
He must have weighed a paltry ounce.
They say that from necessity
all frogs, no matter where they be
will act. So this one did pretend
for competition soon to end
that in the tree the frog was meat,
a moth or insect he would eat.
Thus ends the story of the frogs
on trees and on two fallen logs,
while after all they got together
and sheltered in their log from weather.

Here In The Mounds Of Death
Feed the fantasy lost within a suffocating reality.
Listen, the flutes of the forest night are calling, can you hear?
Listen as you shed a tear for the last leaf of autumn falling,
Winter’s dawn is rising fast upon the horizons of our vision
And we are as the children of Eve lost to blanket insanity.
As each day disappears into the last we are waiting,
Awaiting the guardian at the gate to promise flowered
Wisdom in a lover’s kiss, yet there is something missing here
Within a world imbued with burning sigils of fear.
Into the eye of the dragon that holds the sky within his teeth
We stride, riding on unto the midnight sun
Never fearing the kingdom of shades
Nor running to hide from the waves of karmas tides.
Within celestial mansions built of ethereal elements
They reside; the Ancient Gods of our awakening.
The solar dragon is watching, keeping close and warming eye
Upon the valley green below
The Earth Mother writhes in ecstasy
Penetrated by the eye of the sun.
Here in the mounds of death, under fallen leaves
The Springtime maiden breathes
Knowing in dreams that her time is to come
And that it is she that will be celebrated
Within the return of the sun unto our realm.

In The Wind
We watched as darkness would fall
upon our sacred land
still we tried to keep peace at hand
though they would have seen us gone
we kept going on
Killing our men, women and children
we kept living never giving in
proud of who we were
we would make our stand
being as one with all creation
And when they knew we would stay
they tried to change who we are
but still we reached for the light
that would guide us through it all
for we knew this is where we belong
and our time to rise wouldn't be far
Guided by the Great Spirit
we knew thier would be a better day
for in the wind we heard the call
for our future generation
that would make it right
still never to forget

The Whispering Wind
like the whispering wind you sent to me
like the hopeless time you gave to me
i watched your dreams all slip away
i watched your dreams all slip away
there's a hopeless place inside my heart
when i look inside i see where we are
like the whispering wind in the top of the trees
i will watch the sky come following me
like the rain on my windows late every night
like the hope i have for us every time
it's like the whispering wind in the top of the trees
i see it sway as you come for me
there's a whispering wind i feel it inside
like a place i can feel but never will see
let a whisper come touch you come touch every thing
i stand in the way of the things i can be
let the whispering wind come lift us away
let it push us apart if we wish to stay
you're my sweetness my baby my love for all time
like the whispering wind it makes you all mine
like the whispering wind you stand here with me
like the whispering wind you stand here with me
i see your dreams all slip away
slip away
slip away
slip away

On the desert
On the desert
A silence from the moon's deepest valley.
Fire rays fall athwart the robes
Of hooded men, squat and dumb.
Before them, a woman
Moves to the blowing of shrill whistles
And distant thunder of drums,
While mystic things, sinuous, dull with terrible colour,
Sleepily fondle her body
Or move at her will, swishing stealthily over the sand.
The snakes whisper softly;
The whispering, whispering snakes,
Dreaming and swaying and staring,
But always whispering, softly whispering.
The wind streams from the lone reaches
Of Arabia, solemn with night,
And the wild fire makes shimmer of blood
Over the robes of the hooded men
Squat and dumb.
Bands of moving bronze, emerald, yellow,
Circle the throat and the arms of her,
And over the sands serpents move warily
Slow, menacing and submissive,
Swinging to the whistles and drums,
The whispering, whispering snakes,
Dreaming and swaying and staring,
But always whispering, softly whispering.
The dignity of the accursed;
The glory of slavery, despair, death,
Is in the dance of the whispering snakes.

The Mark On My Heart
I once woke up to Love
he was humming happily
as he paced around an unfamiliar room
and when we spoke it sounded like magic
and we both knew but never said it.
A few words into the conversation and
I already knew he could reach his hand out
palm facing up
ask for my heart
and I'd hand it over without hesitance.
I simply know love when I see it.
Magnificent love it could have been
but now you're floating around the world
searching for that missing piece you always talk about
well maybe it's me.
I'm a sliver in your brain and you're a bullet in mine
and we are always cursing the hands of time.
You told me you're as free as a bird
however free they can be.
But you're some sort of angel in a dishevelled disguise.
I saw your wings
and darling you were meant to fly.

Wiped Out
Wiped out!
I went to a party, just so smartly, cool as cool could be
I knew I could make it, knew I could shake it, lose some fancy free
So I went to the table and reached for a bottle
And poured me a glass of wine
Took a few sips and looked around, I was feelin fine
But an hour along, comin on strong, I was gettin drunk
The next thing I knew I looked at you, I was blind as a skunk, I was
Chorus:
I was wiped out, I had my lights out
Was fallin right out, cos I was wiped out
Through the smoke-filled room I caught your eye
And I think that you caught mine
And I knew in a minute or maybe less, it was just a matter of time
Then you started to move with such a groove, stronger than sneakin slow
Then you looked at me with your big blue eyes, they had such a glow
Then I took your hand and tried to stand and ended up sittin back down
Then you smiled at me and gave me a wink, how quick I lost my frown, I was
Chorus
So I looked at you and then I knew that we were gonna have some fun
So I thought to myself, wine was out, we should switch to rum
So without a word, and like some bird, we flew to another place
And pretty soon we were in some room stretched miles out in space
The room was turnin, we were burnin, things became a haze
It seemed that already I had too many, firewater caused the blaze, I was
Chorus repeats out
