Salesman

There once was a salesman who swore
he could ope, without keys, any door,
the police called one day
to take him away,
he won’t be seen here anymore;

She Says

Father I've sinned
over and over and over and over again
sorry my friends
I'm such a mess
I'm doing the best I can
She says "where ya goin? where ya been?"
She says "I don't want you hanging out with them"
She leaves like she's never coming back again on and on...
it goes on and on YEA
She says "I don't love you like I loved you before"
She says, she says "I don't love you anymore"
and mother I've tried over and over and over to open my eyes
look at my life
tell me when did I die
cause I'm not alive
flip through the script and tell me what it says
skip through the story tell me how it ends
she says that we're probably better off as friends
on and on and... yeeeaaaa
she says "I don't love you like I loved you before"
She says, she says.... YEEEAAAA
She says "I don't love you. I don't love you anymore."
She says, she says "I don't love you. I don't love you. I don't love you anymore."
she says she says she says "where ya going"
I know I know I know I know I know
she says she says she says "where ya going"
I know I know I know I know I know
she says she says she says "where ya going"
I know I know I know I know I know
she says she says she says "where ya going"
I know I know I know I know I know
WHAT I WANT
you... you called the police
you called them on me
and I want to go anywhere but home
I... I'm done listening to whats wrong with me
cause it goes on and on and on and on YEA
she says "I dont love you like I loved you before"
she says she says... YEEEAAA
she says "I dont love you. I don't love you anymore"
she says, she says "I dont love like I love you anymore.

Don't Come Around Anymore

Goodbye, farewell
I don't wanna see you around anymore
Don't come knockin' on my door
Coz i won't answer it to you
No don't come knockin' on my door
Coz i won't answer it to you

You told me you loved me
but all you wanted from me
was sex. When you didn't get it from me?
You went and got some from a Barbie
If i see you with her
I'll tell her what you did to me

So farewell, goodbye
I don't wanna see you around anymore
Don't come knocking on my door
Coz i won't answer
No don't come knockin' on my door
Coz i won't answer it to you

If you come to my place
I'm gonna call the police, and tell them
Why i had a black eye
Why i am so bruised
Why my nose is broken in two
I wanna tell them but do you

So goodbye, farewell
I don't wanna see you around anymore
Don't come knocking on my door
Coz i won't answer it to you
So goodbye, farewell
No don't come knockin' on my door
Coz I'll be waiting on the other side
With a crowbar

Just a Bit

A big hound dog laid on the lawn.
Nearby, an old geezer did sit.
A traveling salesman came on
The scene, and paused there for a bit.
'Does your dog bite? ' the salesman asked.
'Nope.' the old geezer replied back
Then the dog's face got snarling masked.
That salesman came under attack,
Bitten about the arms and head
By the dog, as it fiercely growled.
'Call the dog off. I thought you said'
'It doesn't bite.' the salesman howled.

'My dog don't bite.' smiled the old guy,
''Cause that there dog ain't mine, that's why.'

He Is Just a Salesman

Mom, there is a man at our door
He wants to talk to you.

The man was weary
His hair was like hay
His face was wrinkled
But a pair of eyes of steel.

Mom was angry
Go play in your room son,
He is just a salesman.
Salesman, didn't I tell you never to come again?

The man said,
Mom is right son,
I sold a heart to your mom long long ago
She promised one back but never paid
Now I want to sell another for free,
She will not allow me now.

Knocking On Heaven's Door

I went knocking on Heaven's door today
but no one came to the door to see.
Who was making all that knocking noise
for it was just, little old me!

I guess they might all still be sleeping?
Or maybe out shopping, at Heaven's Grocery store?
So I guess I'd better continue
just knocking, knocking on Heaven's door?

As I gazed in through leaded glass windows
of those golden Heaven's doors.
There on knees was seen an Angel crying!
who cried out, ' God doesn't live here anymore! '

'He went to earth yesterday
to fight earths war, with His Angels you see!
And left me here to man Heaven's doors
but I've seemed to have misplace their keys! '

I can't seem to let you in right now
so can you come back maybe, another time?
I will let you know if I find the keys later
I'll be sure to send you, an Angel's Knee Mail line.

Salesman

Salesman, where you gonna go?
To sell all your of your goods today
Salesman, gonna walk along the street, see friends along the way
Well salesman, with your wooden cart that you push along while you walk
Hey, salesman, got a little dog whose tail wags when you talk
You always wear a smile, even though youve gotta walk ten miles
Short lifespan, goodtime salesman
Yep, yep salesman got it on the street, whether its hot or cold
Its salesman, well, you work real hard,
Until every part is sold
Salesman as the years go by,
People changing every day
Hey, salesman til the end of time youll be livin in the same way
You always wear a smile, you love em fast and you live wild
Short life span, but aint life grand?
Copper kettles, different kinds of tin
There goes salesman and hes sailing high again
Hes sailing so high, high, sailing so high...
Salesman where you gonna go to sell all of your goods today
Yup, salesman, gonna walk along the street, see friends along the way
Hey, salesman, with your wooden cart that you push along while you walk
Hey, salesman with your secret goods that you push while you talk
You always wear a smile,
Even though youve gotta walk a hundred ten miles
Short life span - but the whole things grand
Salesman...
Now, well, I tried the one that you put it in and you have to do it
Manually. but Id like the one that you just plug it in and it does it all
By itself in a real long strand and you cut em up. its easier to do it
That way because, well, I put all the stuff in there and it keeps flippin
Out. and I cant get the thing to stick together anything. coupled with
The fact that I have to stick two of them together to even get on out of it
And they always end up lookin like lucky strikes.

I Aint Got No Home

I aint got no home, Im just a ramblin around
A hard working ramblin man, I go from town to town
The police make it hard wherever I may go
And I aint got no home in this world anymore
I was farmin on the shares and always I was poor
My crops I laid into the bankers door
And my wife took down and died upon the cabin floor
And I aint got no home in this world anymore
I aint got no home, Im just a ramblin around
A hard working ramblin man, I go from town to town
The police make it hard wherever I may go
And I aint got no home in this world anymore
Now as I look around its mighty plain to see
This wide wicked world is a funny place to be
The gamblin man is rich and the workin man is poor
And I aint got no home in this world anymore

No-one cares,
nobody,
sick of stares,

Through salt tears
I beg thee,
in thy prayers
think of me!

Institutional Investment

Keep some ten percent in hand,
it is best to do.
Pick a share in every land,
or, if you can, two.

If all this you understand,
and can follow through,
everything will be just grand,
there’s naught you will rue!

A silly poem about keys

Keys can open doors
they can lock you in
keys on a piano
but not on a Violin.
Keys to a safe
inside a vault
keys lost again
well that's your fault.
Keys on an old typewriter
and on a modern laptop
keys stolen by a thief
to break into a shop.
Keys hang on a keyring
or on a fancy chain
but how on earth can you
dropp them down a drain?
Keys for this and that
a key lying under the mat
having to rush to the Vet
it's been swallowed by the cat.
So I'll end this poem now
and try and get my key
I dropped it down a drain
oh stupid and silly me!

January Stars

Ten below and falling fast
Those days of summer were long past
My horoscope said you'd come back
I have my doubts, you see
And as I watched the mercury
And thought about the prophecy
A new moon and an early thaw
I watched the door for you
If January stars came true
And as I gaze at winter stars
The second house conjunct with Mars
They would suggest that we'll be one
I have my doubts, you see
If I maintain a skeptic's eye
And train the other on the sky
I'd eat my hat if it came true
I'd probably eat yours too
If January stars came true
If January stars came true
Now I'm in a pretty mess
It's getting warmer I confess
My horoscope said you'd come back
I have my doubts it's true
And as I watched the mercury
And thought about the prophecy
A new moon and an early thaw
I left the door for you
If January stars
If January stars
If January stars came true
January stars

Open Up Said The World At The Door

Can you believe no one has called anymore since the ball that was
Thrown in the spring
Brother, beware,
Nobody dare anymore since the days back when balls were the thing
Open up said the world at the door
Swimming around out in the hall
In the ground til she finds what she lost years ago
In a nightdress, dirty old vest, she never rests,
But the old folks at home never know
Open up said the world at the door
What are (? ) the heart, guess its a part of the tale and the feeling
Thats being with each (? )
Brother, beware,
Nobody dare anymore since the days back when balls were the thing
Open up said the world at the door

Po Boy

Words and music by bob dylan
Man came to the door, I say for whom were you lookin?
Says your wife, I say shes busy in the kitchen cookin
Po boy, where you been?
Already told you, wont tell you again
I say how much you want for that, Ill go into the store
Man says three dollars all right, I say, will you take four?
Po boy, never say die
Things will be all right, by and by
Workin like in a main line, workin like the devil
The game is the same its just upon another level
Po boy, dressed in black
Police at your back
Po boy in a red hot town
Out beyond the twinklin stars
Ridin first class train
Makin the rounds
Try to keep from fallin between the cars
Othello told desdemona Im cold, cover me with a blanket
By the way, what happened to that poisoned wine?
She said I gave it to you, you drank it
Po boy, layin em straight
Pickin up the cherries fallin off the plate
Time and love has branded me with its claws
Had to go to florida, dodgin them georgia laws
Po boy in the hotel called the palace of gloom
Called down to room service, says send up a room
My mother was the daughter of a wealthy farmer
My father was a traveling salesman, I never met him
When my mother died my uncle took me in to run a funeral parlor
He did a lot of nice things for me and I wont forget him
All I know is that Im thrilled by your kiss
I dont know any more than this
Po boy, pickin up sticks
Build you a house out of mortar and bricks
Knockin on the door, I say who is it, where you from?
Man say freddie, I say freddie who?
He say freddie or not, here I come
Po boy neath the stars that shine
Washin them dishes, feedin them swine

Give Me The Keys

I can see you've got your motor running
Don't you think you're movin kinda slow
If you feel the way i feel
Let me get behind the wheel
We don't need any destination baby
Anywhere you wanna go
Give me the keys, and i'll drive you crazy
Give me the keys, i'll drive you out of your mind
Honey we don't need no registration
We don't need no license anymore
Let me in the driver's side
And we can take a ride
We don't need to ask directions baby
I know where you wanna go
Give me the keys, and i'll drive you crazy
Give me the keys, i'll drive you out of your mind
Give me the keys, and i'll drive you crazy
Give me the keys, i'll drive you out of your mind
Maybe we'll just ride into the sunset
Drive around til who knows where or when
And when it gets a little dark
We'll find a quiet place to park
And when the sun comes up in the morning baby
Do it all over again

Used to be Hero

Patricia,

Do you know? Do you remember? Things from long ago? Do you know that you used to be my hero? The person I thought I could always talk to? Do you remember when I called you mom?

I wish this letter was addressed to her; the woman I called mom; my hero. I used to think about asking dad where did you go; then I realized he was never there. So instead I realized the appropriate question for him is 'where have you been'. It was my hero who left me. It is you I must ask 'where did you go'. You used to be my hero.

Once upon a time,

You lived in Newell; Dad lived in Nisland. Matt and I we were at your house for the night. Mattie slept in our bunk in the back room. I slept on the floor in the livingroom. To raised voices I awoke. Daddy was drunk and you were fighting. You told him to leave and he grabbed Mattie. He took him out to his truck and you locked him out. To the door I ran screaming for Mattie, scared for my little brother. Not caring for my safety. You locked the door and pulled me back. Daddy soon was at the door screaming and pounding at the door for you to let him get his stuff. You ignored his rants and raves and called the police. I watched from the door as they arrived and Daddy, he put up a fight. The cops asked once, they asked twice, soon he was on the ground and put in vice. On his wrists they slapped the cuffs and dear little mattie was brought back to us. In the back of the police car Daddy went.

The End

That night you were my hero. You kept Mattie and me safe from Daddy when he was drunk. I only have one question for you now. Where did that Mommy go? My hero.....the person who was supposed to teach me everything in life. Your life seemed to fall apart in front of my eyes, but I did not see your pain. Only the pain inflicted on Mattie and me. I wish you could still be my hero, but that was lost a long time ago.

Outside the Café

Outside the Café
where I was having coffee,
a red BMW without number plates
died on the driver
and was flashing lights
and its hooter went off.

Inside of it I saw a face
of a ugly white man,
with a wig upon his head
and the look in his eye
spelled out dread.

Be careful
he’s got a gun,
the café’s owner warned
and I looked away
as if the man was not there.

Thrice I called
that one zero triple one number
from my cell phone
and no police did appear,
while the criminal was near
as if my calls was in vain.

No cars are available
they said
and on the next morning,
a squadron of police
was knocking my door down
and eight cars and a helicopter
was waiting outside.
