Remember the Seasons
'Gladness of life in blossom, will to wend
its way as if instead
of deathwards, voyage led
to timeless bliss ahead,
to ease unlimited.
Madness of life to dissipation friend -
unheedful, as we said,
that mortal trap is spread -
where one on mischance has fed
Time's hydra head.
Sadness of life left little to defend,
as palsied hairs are shed
and heart thumps at the tread
announcing that the thread
shall snap - too soon to bed!
Sadness of life on knife edge of its end,
all former fortune fled,
to Lethe's waters wed -
last leaf which hangs in dread
of Fate, of Time, soon dead.
Is stonewall all our trend?
Beyond perceptions bread
and butter life lends bred
by hopes and fears unread
perhaps we'll find instead
the seasons' reasons end
come clear as round life's bend
we travel onwards, send
our children hope, extend
trust, understanding blend,
man's misconceptions mend.

What is Life
What is life?
Who knows the true definition?
Is life everything that you want you gets?
If life a bowl of gravy and a bucket of biscuits?
Is life just one good time?

there is another not far behind.

With everything that is good
there is always an element of bad.
So life drives us onwards

Sonnet: Anticipate Woes; Lose not Hope
When sadness goes and joy has replaced it,
Remember Man, ’tis just a transient state;
One’s happiness depends on how you’re hit;
Enjoy as if ’tis not your one life-mate.
Who knows how long the present joys shall last?

“He is as dead! ”
his younger brother will a stranger wed,
one’s mind sees red.
At University their paths would thread,
thoughtless they tread,
senseless instead
of following where ancestors had led,
for what they bled
to be a Jew and join a new homestead
in Talmud read.
Although on Saturday turned table’s spread, -
(he butters bread) -
one would prefer by far to fast in bed, -

Good bye Sadness
She is so happy now
That you are out of her mind
You finally vanished
Good bye Sadness
Why are you called Sadness?
Because that’s the name they given you
You make people cry
You even made her cry too many times
There was a dark cloud hanging in her eyes
For a long tine
And now it is gone
Good bye sadness
She doesn’t need to see you again
You are also painful
Good bye sadness
You belong in the sad Sea
Where the pain lays
Among the dead fishes
In that sad Sea
The oil from that big ship and vessels
Pollutes this sad Sea
She doesn’t want to be a part of the Sad Sea either
Because it is sad to see
All that wild life dies

A rose to you I now shall send
Gone are the days with my best friend
Empty pockets willing no longer to lend
Wasting time I now alone spend
If only time I could suspend
You back in my arms I’d pretend
With you I’d exhaust every weekend
Affectionate letters now I’d resend
To cherish you more I’d intend
Into the darkest of caverns I would descend
Captive wires I would unbend
On summits high I would ascend
Your every need I would contend
Lavish parties we would attend
On you all I would spend
For you are truly a godsend
Preoccupied I was with having a girlfriend
On you I relied and came to depend

Released from the nest birds must fend
This voyage now I append
Left to my own qualms I must now tend
A tree in the wind must learn how to bend
