Passing

As Adam Smith and Marx
Prove they’ve outlived their day
One seeks an inner ray –
Enlightenment – whose sparks
Take up fresh flag which marks
In some symbolic way
Creation new, with grey
Exchanged for rainbow arcs.
Can future sing as larks
Songs which rich hearts may sway,
That lighten darkness, pay
Attention to no clerks.
So one Age slips away, -
Yet what tune will the next one play?

My loves sonnet

My loves sonnet
~
My love is an unwritten sonnet
an ode to the greatest beauty
which sparks the soul into a song
and the heart a merry dance
which brings to life many a dream
such joy I now find in me
happy my soul thanks to love
that the world should hear
and share in such sweetness
the rich melody of this sonnet
still remains unwritten
but this love, such love
inspires all creation to thought
how can such beauty
be captured in words alone
to eternity I look and beyond
to read my unwritten love
is to live and watch over it

Fair Untangled Poetry

FAIR garden blossoms through trust's rising sun
Uniquely satisfying inner eye
Nature's weave worlds, thriving, merge as one
Twin[n]ed symphonies of song, Time’s drum defy.
A cherry blossom spri[n]gs as h[e]aven stream
Neath rainbow bloom beads whose bouquet may bridge,
Graft, eastern ‘floating world’ to western dream,
Light bright transmuting, muting urge to fidge.
Extended gardens conquer care, wear, tear.
Digest, ingest each sound shade tone profound,
Pause, look and learn, yearn not, reach round despair -
One gleans joy harvesting rich hallowed ground.
Encounters unforeseen weave sunlit leaves,
TRY framing scene which pastures green believes …

From sunken garden into rising sun

From sunken garden into rising sun
one may transform perspectives, inner eye
flows through holistic channels, once begun
shares symphonies of song Time’s wrong defy.
The cherry blossom spri[n]gs as h[e]aven stream
bubble beads wreaths ‘neath a rainbow bridge
which links the ‘floating world’ to western dream,
white light transmuting, muting urge to fidge.
How many times may readers full of care
read, bookmark, learn, digest each sound profound,
speed, look, hark, yearn, ingest, reach round despair,
to feed from inspiration’s hallowed ground.
Encounter unforeseen weaves sunlit leaves
to set rich scene which pastures green believes …

Hello, Rainbow!

Rainbow, Rainbow
that was her nickname.
A name she had obtained,
for all the colors she'd appreciate.
Rainbow, Rainbow
that was her calling
to come out in style to show the worlds vibrant.
Rainbow, Rainbow
they laughed at her colors
said she was different
not normal like others.
Rainbow, Rainbow
they took her as a joke.
Just a mere girl looking for attention you know?
Rainbow, Rainbow
lover of rain
not a care in the world of what other people say.
Rainbow, Rainbow
she started too change
The world saw her brightly
now shes all black and grey.
Rainbow, Rainbow
why goes this way.
We've all secretly loved you.
So why not stay the same!
Rainbow, Rainbow
you bring us joy
You shed light too our day.
So go back to your ways
Rainbow, Rainbow
we appreciate your love!
We see differently now
so stay who you are.
Rainbow, Rainbow!
That's who I am.
A girl of 14
who is oddly at best.
Rainbow, Rainbow!
Everyone calls me that.
I'm just a use for you all
, but i don't mind that.
Rainbow, Rainbow
A mirror image I am.
A reflection of colors
that most people don't understand.
Rainbow, Rainbow
you called my name?
Why hello I'm here.
To shed light to your day

Soldiers

Do I hear what I think Im hearing?
Do I see the signs I think I see?
Or is this just a fantasy?
Is it true that the beast is waking
Stirring in his restless sleep tonight
In the pale moonlight
In the grip of this cold december
You and I have reason to remember
Soldiers write the songs that soldiers sing
The songs that you and I dont sing
They blow their horns and march along
They drum their drums and look so strong
Youd think that nothing in the world was wrong
Soldiers write the songs that soldiers sing
The songs that you and I wont sing
Lets not look the other way
Taking a chance
cause if the bugler starts to play
We too must dance
Whats that sound, whats that dreadful rumble?
Wont somebody tell me what I hear?
In the distance but drawing near
Is it only a storm approaching?
All that thunder and the blinding light
In the winter night
In the grip of this cold december
You and I have reason to remember
Soldiers write the songs that soldiers sing
The songs that you and I dont sing
They blow their horns and march along
They drum their drums and look so strong
Youd think that nothing in the world was wrong
Soldiers write the songs that soldiers sing

~ Game Of Songs ~

GAME OF SONGS
Ms. Nivedita
UK
[To Poet John Knight ~ Christmas poetic nosegays]
December 15,2009.

Standing you’re
On the opposite bank
Of my song,
Ambulant my tunes become
Me, don’t get you.

Breeze is blowing
Oh, oh excellently
Keep anchored the boat
No more.
Cross and come, O Dear
Into the abode of my bosom.

Game of songs with you
Game of distance is,
Me in agony play flute
All the time,
When, O Dear yourself will come
Take my flute to play,
In the dense darkness of
Rapture-full silent night.

No Liberty can Bloom where Doomsday Few Enshroud

Drone's no-fly zone sets tone for prompt poetic
Radar tracks furtive raider rarely seen
Only sophisticated systems glean
Near view. Invader unapologetic
Eyes all below, hill, hollow, scan frenetic
Seeks secrets, civil, military, sheen
Now cloaked - gold members' privilege - can screen
One at a time all details. Energetic
Flight-path for Big Brother is planned, magnetic
Lasers home in on aerodrome, demesnes,
Yet few maintain complaints as freedom's scene
ZOne borderline must meet. Heed call prophetic!
No liberty can bloom where doomsday few
Enshroud, cloud basic facts, conceal true view.

Sing me no sad songs cause my hearts
been broken too many times and I've cried
myself asleep too many nights.

Sing me no sad songs cause they bring
back all the hurt and all the memories that
I'm tryin' to forget.

Sing me no sad songs cause I'm feelin'
low and those songs just keep me down.
They keep me from smiling or seein' the sun.

Sing me no sad songs, cause I'm tryin' to
raise myself up and lookin' for a feel
good song and a feel good smile.

Sing me no sad songs cause they chase away
all the stuff that's good in life. Those sad songs...
they always make my brown eyes blue and lock
the door on love and such.

Baby...sing me no sad songs, just hold me and
sing softly...the songs of love and the songs of hope.

If I live to be a hundred I never want to hear those
bad feelin' sad songs again.

Break Out 0509 - Initial Version

I've lived protected by those walls Time's wit
Lets stand a while, like pride before the fall,
Ignoring purposely the fact that all
Vain structures tumble down, and bit by bit
Earth into dust dissolves what man would knit.
Protection serves its purpose, for the wall
Relieves some pressures, gives the wherewithal
Of time to see life's puzzle pieces fit.
The time has come to quit false safety, split
Entrenched opinion whose scope seems so small,
Creation hinders, progress holds in thrall.
Turn then with me towards fresh future lit!
Each step to freedom leaves the past behind,
Destroying bias, liberates the mind!

Wife to Be (Petrarchan Sonnet)

I stroll along a fragrant country lane
With honeysuckle perfume on the air -
And feathered crooner's warble to revere -
Then cross a golden sea of flowing grain
In empathy - it seems to sense my pain
Of knowing all was done with my affair -
Her empty meaning now the solitaire
She cast away - betrothment all in vain.
But oceans team with many fish to catch
So I must up and hoist another sail
And seek the one that really waits for me,
For soon auspicious breezes will prevail
In guiding forth to find a truer match:
The one to take my hand as wife to be.

April May June Duly Appear August

Another day spins round, another moon
Plies silver gossamer surprise profound.
Rebounding droplets of spaced spring too soon
In Lethe's stream eternity resound.
Life drips despondently, some say, tear drowned.
As April breasts Spring's crest, as lovers spoon,
Perceive leaf, bud and bowls' rich garb fresh found,
Rainbow bridge 'twixt mad March, warm May, June.
Imagination's tendrils intertwine,
Leap out from Winter's protective cocoon,
And span star-spangled sky, lands fertilize,
PRepare the ground for future harvest wine.
..If Truth be Beauty, April offers boon,
..Links seasons' sparkle, Life reflects, replies.

Empowerment

Times of trouble sponge solutions new,
Insight inks page which once seemed whitewash blank.
Grief is patient. Joy greets the dawn to thank
Hope for fresh sparks where all once seemed askew.
The challenge unchains energy that through
Creative actions borrow from the bank
Of inner strength, experiences drank
Retained in brain, regurgitate on cue -
New inklings spliced with instincts tried and true.
Errors past forge future force if frank,
Reproachless one remains, nor closed, nor crank.
Sincerity succeeds if luck smiles too.
Turned, tight corners open vistas which
Empower options sure solutions stitch.

Tight Corners

Times of trouble sponge solutions new,
Inklings spring up, ink in what seemed blank.
Grief is patient, joy greets the dawn to thank
Hope for fresh sparks where all appeared askew.
The challenge unchains energy which through
Creative insight borrows from the bank
Of inner strenght and knowled which, once drank,
Retained within the brain was, then, on cue,
New-born did blossom: instinct tried and true.
Errors past forge future force if frank,
Reproachless one remains, and not a crank.
Sincerity succeeds if luck smiles too.
Tight corners prove the mettle of the soul,
Cast off all doubts, rewards you’ll reap, not dole.

Bridge over Troubled Waters - Acrostic Sonnet

Bridge of colours spans the years
Responding to shared tune on cue
In light and laughter keys into
Dreams' hopes for scope. Grey disappears.
Glow grows, tomorrows free from fears
Extend through unveiled planes that few
Or none else know. Constraints melt too!
Voyage duet hearts' wonder hears,
Echoes return to welcome ears
Responding with joy overdue.
TROUbadour threads song sincere,
BLED heart's quite healed, bright crystal clear.
WAs wait worthwhile? Touchée? Emue?
TERSe verse here ends with thoughts of you.

Operatic omelette

I could write a sonnet
about what I just ate.
My lady's beautiful
omelette.
I may try operatic,
p'raps poetic,
that music of taste,
an omelette in travel
going from north to south
via my mouth.
No omelette going to waste,
a thing to revel,
my lady's a devil
when cooking that omeletting
thing.
So play it again
sonnet, operatic,
cooking poetic.
So pan out again,
do you ken.

Sonnet: My Poetic Evolution

From simple Rhymes that Kinder-gardens teach,
And little songs that children love to sing,
I worked my way, up to what Poets reach,
And tried to soar the Skies with my own Wing!

And then I came to know what metre was;
And Rhythm melody of words and sounds;
And soon I was some kind of Poetic-Boss;
And tried my skill of words in newer grounds!

The old was gold but people wanted new;
I had to write 'free verses' now and then;
My Sonnets sprung with speed and divine hue;
My Wings were strong enough to reach Heaven!

Believe-it-or-not, I'm World's Sonnet-King!
Each Sonnet was just a ten- minute thing!

The Old Songs

There goes another one
Another happy couple on the road to emptiness
I think of my father and mother
Can they imagine how two people can get in this mess
But the old songs say - loves forever
And the old songs never say die
But a song cant keep us together
How can that beautiful song be a lie
Me I blame the old songs
Filling hearts with rebellion and romance
Our book of revelations
And all we had to do was dance
Play us another one
Play us the hopes and dreams of twenty years ago
Theyre all over the bloody radio
Its like theyre telling us theres nowhere left to go
And the old songs say - be my baby
And the old songs say - she loves you
All the songs well sing come what may be
I like those songs
But Id like something new
Me I blame the old songs
Protect us all against a change of course
All our great expectations
Turn to alimony and remorse
