Is One Blamed?
Silence is golden, guilt remains ashamed
to hold up to the spotlight’s piercing glare
sentiments submersive, - is one blamed
if feelings are confided, shown to share?
One little thought to sense love’s lightening strike,
topple defensive certainties! The door,
once triple locked, is sprung, unsportsmanlike,
yet that which leaves one poor rich makes one more!
Rich one through knowing t’other, outlook clear,
poor when discovered what was lacked before
shows distance from the truth, who ‘self’ held dear.
This understanding makes self ‘self’ abhor.
Thus these short lines should shun flight, favour hope,
To-morrow’s stars spotlight bright horoscope.

The Very Thing That Makes You Rich
My father told me, lying on his bed of death,
"boy," he says, "woman she's gonna make it, don't fool your self
'cause she's got something to make a man lay that money, uh, right in her hand
And the very thing that makes her rich will make you poor
The very thing that makes her rich will make you poor"
That's right!
Well, i put you behind the wheel of a deuce and a quarter, yes i did
Had you living like a rich man's daughter, yes i did, i sure did
While you were living high on the hog
You had me down here scuffling like a dog
Well, the very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
The very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
Don't you never ever make such a bad mistake
You know i'd rather climb into bed with a rattlesnake
Then to work hard every day bringing that woman all my pay
The very thing that makes you rich makes me poor,
Makes me so damn poor
The thing that makes her rich makes me poor
The very thing that makes you rich make me poor
Very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
Makes me so damned poor
Money won't change it, no no...

Behind That Locked Door
(harrison)
Why are you still crying
Your pain is now through
Please forget those teardrops
Let me take them from you
The love you are blessed with
This worlds waiting for
So let out your heart, please, please
From behind that locked door
Its time we start smiling
What else should we do
With only this short time
I know to be here with you
And the tales you have taught me
From the things that you saw
Makes me want out your heart, please, please
From behind that locked door
And wherever my love goes
If Im rich or Im poor
Please let out my heart, please, please
From behind that locked door
From behind that locked door

A Lure For The Spotlight
A lure for the spotlight
lies in everyone somewhere.
At some point in our lives,
everyone wants the centre stage
and have the spotlight on them.
Some just dream about it
to pass the time away,
other have a natural gift
and in the spotlight stay.
When the spotlight shines on you
scrutinizing everything you do,
you want it to go away.
You want your life
to go back to the way it was.
However, when the spotlight
has been on you
it will never leave you alone.
It will be with you
for the rest of your days.

The Tears Of The Poor Man
The tears of the poor are
The drinks of the rich,
Yet the shedding of blood
Is the rich man's headache...
And what of the poor man's justice?
In truth, water is too cool
To bring forth your anguish!
Fire is the only solution!
Drink fire to end your injustice.
Silence is each lover's desire,
Yet the poor man's unbearable pain.
Making a din is the only right choice
To put forth your final demand.
Dew is but the conspiracy
Hatched between the rich and their kings,
While morning is but the first step
Of each poor man's sufferings...

Rich In Our Own World
We are rich in our own world
and far richer than you think,
we are rich love and caring
from our family and friends.
We are rich in what we give
our wisdom and our laughter
that we share with everyone.
We are rich for all sorts of reasons
and none of them includes money.
If you think, you are poor,
forget it and think again.
Think of all the things you have
and you will be surprised to find
you are far richer than you think.
You are rich in your own world
with everything you have
and they are far richer than
anything money can bring.

Rich and Poor
In me a sense has felt like each,
One causes others to wonder of strange beliefs,
In a feeding are the poor,
Poor are the opposite of the Rich.
In this side of the valley,
The Rich are better at living,
In opposition to the laughter
Of the Poor.
Poor is not Rich,
And Rich carries no Wealth
Of Heavenly Times.

Spotlight Kid
You dont know whats happening, you want to go home
But theres nowhere to hide
You walk out on stage, your first time alone
The crowds going wild
And you feel so alive
You could stand up and take this all night
They love you but youre in love with the spotlight
Youre the spotlight kid
Jokers and women they hang round your door
Theyre all part of the scene
Just like a junkie youve got to have more
Its a pleasure machine
And you fly every night
But the dressing room mirror dont lie
They love you but youre in love with the spotlight
Youre the spotlight kid
Your audience died, faded away
Leaving you on the stage
Its been so many years since that first matinee
It seems like an age
Encore one more time
For the ghosts of the past in your mind
They love you but youre in love with the spotlight
Youre the spotlight kid
Youre living in a dream
Youre the spotlight kid
Youre in love with the spotlight

Get An Answer
Man is not made known by his richness
But by simple logic of his humbleness
A poor man can be so rich in his heritage
Rest all the qualities come in later stage
“Will you like a glass of water” asked old man
It was scorching heat for any human
I was on way to a another town
Had chosen path of my own
I could read those worry lines
He was still standing on side line
He was no relative but only a stranger
I was much impressed and wanted to know more
This morning only someone had asked me question
What really makes man rich in sense and in relation?
I was in dilemma to answer but it touched inner core
I had to struggle hard for answer and explore
I thought of this old man and got answer
Such qualities may be had by fewer
They are happiest persons in the world
I would be so much lucky if find such safe fold
“Not by what you get but by what you give”
“Not by revenge but how you pardon or forgive”
These were all good signs of richness
This gave me an answer and brought shine on the face
It may necessary to have enough of fortune
Luxury and comfort in life with harmony and tune
Yet it is not everything if we compare to what others have
Kind gesture makes them rich and brave
The life has taught us to be little liberal
We may not spend on causes considered to be noble
Yet turn out and behavior makes it all important
Rich or poor may just be stage but one should not be ignorant

Lady of My Dreams
Let signal sparkle slip between silk sheets
And message mind which finds intentions clear,
Daily sought though thought still to appear,
Yet somehow ever present. This defeats
Our understanding, nonetheless completes
Fine-tuned intuitions hinting cheer.
Magically she’ll grace this lower sphere,
Yearned, here on Earth, seems heaven-sent. Conceits
Defeat ambitions as one rarely meets
Recall, prompts karmic. Time deletes most. Fear
Endangers fancied links that disappear.
Awakening masks dreams’ forgotten sweets.
Mayhap map heart has charted day and night
Shows sharing twins to spin soul’s true delight …

And etch within my mind your message clear.
Daily sought it was, still to appear,
Yet somehow ever present. This defeats

Magically you grace this lower sphere.
You, here on Earth, seem heaven-sent. Conceits
Dreams seldom spring to life, one rarely meets
Reminders karmic. Time deletes most. Fear
Endangers fancied links that disappear
Awakening brings longing, half-forgotten sweets.

Shows you as twin to spin soul’s true delight …

Legends Of October
My cubic pen quake in protest as I write this legendary poem
I besiege myself with apt feelings to explain this poetic term.
My moment like NEYO ‘I’m so sick of love song’
This autumn of October makes my moment sprung.
It’s October, I want to attend the NATIONAL DAY in CHINA,
Savor good memories, and gain independent like NIGERIA.
Today is the unity day in GERMANY,
Yesterday the inception of MAHATHMA GANHI, he annexed many.
In this blissful October, for my Hip-hop Messiah, PLAYBUOY I’ll take,
He’s “More than and option” just like DRAKE.
My feelings for her, right now I hate,
I can create a feeling that could ware her soft like BILL GATE.
My days with her was short and black like JUDE ABAGA
With my heart dribbling her feelings like MARADONA.
“I’ll never love again” was the last poem I wrote to LOLADE,
A thousand times I have scored love into her heart like PELE.
Like BRUNO MARS, I love you “Just the way you are”
But, my heart keeps staring at you from a far.
My feelings for her travels long like the rump of KIM KARDASHIAN
Her heart is guarded like a sentry; she’s Asian.
My head goes back and front like WILLOW SMITH,
I can’t say much, tis I’ll gnash my teeth.
I’m the Don of October like SLICKY,
Counting my awards and accolades weekly.
I’m not yet a “Super Star” like ICE PRICE,
But every where I go, I’m treated as a Prince.
I’m the Captain of my mind like CHARLES
My reality is running at pace like OBAFEMI MARTINS.
Yes! I want to rule my mind like JIMMY CARTER,
Rule it with diligence, like DWIGHT EISENHOWER.
I beseech these lines to you, these LEGENDS OF OCTOBER,
It’s an Ode Poem from OSHODIN GODSPOWER.

An Autumn Reverie
Alas! Beautiful Summer now hath fled,
And the face of Nature doth seem dead,
And the leaves are withered, and falling off the trees,
By the nipping and chilling autumnal breeze.
The pleasures of the little birds are all fled,
And with the cold many of them will be found dead,
Because the leaves of the trees are scattered in the blast,
And makes the feathered creatures feel downcast.
Because there are no leaves on the trees to shield them from the storm
On a windy, and rainy, cloudy morn;
Which makes their little hearts throb with pain,
By the chilling blast and the pitiless rain.
But still they are more contented than the children of God,
As long as they can pick up a worm from the sod,
Or anything they can get to eat,
Just, for instance, a stale crust of bread or a grain of wheat.
Oh! Think of the little birds in the time of the snow,
Also of the little street waifs, that are driven to and fro,
And trembling in the cold blast, and chilled to the bone,
For the want of food and clothing, and a warm home.
Besides think of the sorrows of the wandering poor,
That are wandering in the cold blast from door to door;
And begging, for Heaven's sake, a crust of bread,
And alas! Not knowing where to lay their head.
While the rich are well fed and covered from the cold,
While the poor are starving, both young and old;
Alas! It is the case in this boasted Christian land,
Where as the rich are told to be kind to the poor, is God's command.
Oh! Think of the working man when he's no work to do,
Who's got a wife and family, perhaps four or two,
And the father searching for work, and no work can be had,
The thought, I'm sure, 'tis enough to drive the poor man mad.
Because for his wife and family he must feel,
And perhaps the thought thereof will cause him to steal
Bread for his family, that are starving at home,
While the thought thereof makes him sigh heavily and groan.
Alas! The pangs of hunger are very hard to hide,
And few people can their temper control,
Or become reconciled to their fate,
Especially when they cannot find anything to eat.
Oh! Think of the struggles of the poor to make a living,
Because the rich unto them seldom are giving;
Wereas they are told he that giveth to the poor lendeth unto the Lord,
But alas! they rather incline their money to hoard.
Then theres the little news-vendors in the street,
Running about perhaps with bare feet;
And if the rich chance to see such creatures in the street,
In general they make a sudden retreat.

I Came, I Saw, Who Conquered?
I CAME, I SAW, WHO CONQUERED?
Music sudden waved Time's blight,
An incarnation of delight
Unchallenged. Naught continued to
Deny bright beauty, spirit true.
Each blush rose paled, blood ruby too.
Magnificence expelling night,
Acknowledged inner thirst quenched through
Unequalled charm, dream beamed delight
DEfying definitions trite.
Magical our planet blue
Appears to Nature, taps into
Unsullied streams of rainbow hue.
Descriptions fail. These splendours span
Eternities unguessed by man.

Robert
Roberts appearance is something to behold
Dressed in the finest of store bought clothes
My mamma sews my clothes cause Im just a poor girl
But robert is as real as his daddies gold
Robert could have any girl that he wanted
But his feelings for me each day seems to grow
He dont know the reason, that hes so drawn to me
But there is a story that robert doesnt know
Oh robert
Oh robert
Robert is constantly making eyes at me
He misunderstands the feelings we share
Theres no way that I can return his glances
But I know the meaning of the feeling thats there
Robert if you knew, there once was a rich boy
In love with a poor girl, long time ago
But the folks of that rich boy, would not let them marry
And I am a symbol of the love that they stole
Oh robert
Oh robert
Robert, oh robert if you only knew
The same blood is flowing in both me and you
That rich boys your father, but hes also mine
And my mammas the poor girl that he left behind
Oh robert
Oh robert

Rich & Poor; or Saint & Sinner
The poor man's sins are glaring;
In the face of ghostly warning
He is caught in the fact
Of an overt act---
Buying greens on a Sunday morning.
The rich man's sins are hidden
In the pomp of wealth and station;
And escape the sight
Of the children of light,
Who are wise in their generation.
The rich man has a kitchen,
And cooks to dress his dinner;
The poor who would roast
To the baker's must post,
And thus becomes a sinner.
The rich man has a cellar,
And a ready butler by him;
The poor man must steer
For his pint of beer
Where the saint can't choose but to spy him.
The rich man's painted windows
Hide the concerts of the quality;
The poor can but share
A crack'd fiddle in the air,
Which offends all sound morality.
The rich man is invisible
In the crowd of his gay society;
But the poor man's delight
Is a sore in the sight,
And a stench in the nose of piety.

The undeserved merits
Battering the poor, one grows rich.
Having grown rich, to quill the guilt
One flatters the poor with alms
And earn merits undeserved.
