How Often?

How often may one meet
‘antidisestablishmentarianism’
in a poem, complete?
How many rant, defeat
harmony spewing sackcloth and ash aneurism,
heart-break volcanoes tie_rant cheat!

Is contemporary muse's seat
based more upon unchannelled antagonism's
compensatory self-deceit
than prose which flows slow to beat fleet
Time’s tempo and bigotry’s authoritarianism
monosyllabic feet?

Soul-song symphony seeks beat
juxtaposing sound sense's synchronism
with sounds' sensitivity sweet.

How Often?

How often may we meet
‘antidisestablishmentarianism’
in a poem, complete? –

Is poetry’s pseudo seat
based more upon ‘communicationarism’s
fictional deceit

than prose which flows slow to beat fleet
Time’s tempo and bigotry’s authoritarianism

As A New Road Opens Now 1156

As April with her showers sweet prepares the ground for Summer [w]heat,
A mother, Beauty's mirror, here for verses calls, both far and near.
Response from heart not art shines clear as verse verse follows, all do steer
One theme, one dream, 'Let all compete to make his day with joy complete! '
New stanza flows to stanza greet upon the screen where thrones love's seat.
Al good things wishing for this year which marks a turning point, frontier
A long the way as little man emerges from the toss and cheer,
'Run, now its bedtime, you're dead beat' a greater challenge new to meet,
On schools, why rules, why not to cheat, learning, earning. Litte feet
New legs find, steady, as Time, fleet, advances, strong grow, changing gear,
As worries, fears shall disappear, as youth flows on now April's here!
A shining light turns all austere to friendship, joy, and love sincere,
Rings of laughter bright sing clear as birthday brings treat after treat.
One road you start with smile so neat may bless blue eyes, in birthday signed,
No tears shall flow, none fears shall know, no thoughts unkind.

Poem Versus Prose

You do not like this poem
And I do not like your prose
Enough with your predicates
And your subjects
In this poem you will find
No commas and semicolons

This poem
Is armed with rhythms
Stanzas and shifts
This poem has no end
There are no colons
In this poem

Your prose is replete with nuances
This poem echoes
The plight of the oppressed
And dispossessed

In your prose I find parentheses
This poem speaks of life
Your prose can be edited
Cut this poem and it bleeds

You do not like this poem
And I do not like your prose
Prose has pauses and hyphens
Prose comes to a stop
This poem plugs images
Even in your head

Prose deals with fiction
And nonfiction
This poem can be heard
It can be felt
It speaks of hunger
Of hopelessness
Homelessness
It speaks of a bitter reality

You do not like this poem

Beat Down Those Creeps Found

Beat down,
The creeps found.
Sleazing in discreet,
With misdeeds they release.

Beat down,
The creeps found...
Sneaking as they 'peep' who to feed defeat.
Ripping up the streets with their brand of deceit.

Beat down,
The creeps found.
Sleazing in discreet,
With misdeeds they release.

Beat down,
The creeps found...
Sneaking as they 'peep' who to feed defeat.
Ripping up the streets with their brand of deceit.

Get to caring.
And sharing.
With those you held close.
And love the most.
With forgiving that can come...
And forgetting what was done!
When they weren't the only ones...
Lieing on the run!

Get to caring.
And sharing.
Don't wait to repay...
A 'shade' somebody gave to you,
That you should let fade away!

Beat down,
The creeps found.
Sleazing in discreet,
With misdeeds they release.

Beat down,
The creeps found...
Sneaking as they 'peep' who to feed defeat.
Ripping up the streets with their brand of deceit.

Forgive and forget what was done,
When they weren't the only ones lieing on the run!
Or sleazing in discreet with misdeeds they release!
You don't have to be like that to whoever you meet.

Beat down,
The creeps found.
Sleazing in discreet,
With misdeeds they release.

Beat down,
The creeps found...
Sneaking as they 'peep' who to feed defeat.
Ripping up the streets with their brand of deceit.

Beat down the creeps found.
Oh oh...
Beat down those creeps found.
Oh oh...
Beat down the creeps found.
Oh oh...
Beat down those creeps found.
Beat down those creeps found.
Beat down those creeps found.

Dead To My Poem

DEAD TO MY POEM

Dead to my poem-
Dead to the poems of others-
Dead to poetry
In any way at all-

Into another way of feeling:
Dry- nervous- anxious- fearful.
Prose is my soul
Empty small literal flat prose.

Flat prose
Lines too flat to even need paraphrase
No poem no poetry
Prose.

Rhyme Rant on Prose Rants

RHYME RANT ON PROSE RANTS
Prose which with capitals would rant
against pet hate, for favoured cause
is often filled with fatal flaws,
or pays attention far too scant
to harmony, stays ignorant
of rhythm which enhances, draws
skein polychrome. Its pointed jaws
restrict free scope increasing cant,
seldom perceived as elegant.
True poet purity implores
to etch, to sketch, to open doors
upon perspective which prose [r]ant
encounters rarely where it roams
on well trod trails of barren tomes.

This poem which is the essence of all poetry

Rock Roll Doctor

A woman in georgia didnt feel just right
She had fever all day and chills at night
Now things got worse, yes a serious bind
At times like this it takes a man with such style
That you cannot often find
A doctor of the heart and a doctor of the mind
If you like country with a boogie beat
Hes the man to meet (hes the man to meet)
If you like the sound ofa shufflin feet
I said, he cant be beat (he cant be beat)
Oh, if you wanna feel real nice
Just ask the rock and roll doctors advice
Its just a country town but patients come
From mobile to moline from miles around
Nagodoches to new orleans
In beat-up old cars or in limousines
To meet the doctor of soul
Hes got his very own thing
Two degrees in be-bop, a ph.d. in swing
Hes the master of be hop
Hes the rock n roll king
If you like country with a boogie beat
Hes the man to meet (hes the man to meet)
If you like the sound ofa shufflin feet
I said, he cant be beat (he cant be beat)
If you... if you wanna
If you wanna feel real nice
Just ask the r and-r d-rs advice
(rock n roll doc can make you feel so fine)
So fine so so fine, so fine, he makes you feel so fine
(rock n roll doc can make you feel so fine)
Rock-n-roll rock-n-roll rock-n-roll doctor, feel fine
Well he makes you feel so fine

Take Your Seat

Take your seat
Don't miss a beat
Of the soul that I bring
When I spit my poetry thing

The snaps of you fingers
To the way my words linger
Through the air
I'm not scared

Let your thoughts rain free
It's only me
Be open with yourself and be oh so true
I'm doing this for me, the hell with you

With your prejudice and sterotype
About how this girl is so righteously hype
I stand before you, not in disguise
No deception, deceit, or little white lies

What you see is what you get
So you either like it, love it, or leave it
I'll be alright if you don't approve
Of the way that I write, sing, shout, cuss, sex, love,
talk, fight, or the way that I move

Did you miss a beat
For you I will repeat
'Cause my skills keep on growing
And my words keep flowing

I might write an autobiography about me
About how I never failed me
I quinch my own thirst
'Cause I put myself first

I was born alone
I will die alone
And I can scribe whatever the hell I want because I am oh so grown

Despite what you thought, my beat brings heat
This I know because you are still in your seat

One Beat Away

One beat away from all I own
One beat away from where I've grown
One beat away from all the stars
One beat away from Jupiter or Mars

Let that beat stay away for awhile
So I may still see your smile.

One beat away from all my pride
One beat away from by your side
One beat away from songs I love
One beat away from the skies above

Let that beat not come around
So I may hear your breathing sound.

One beat away from quiet prayer
One beat away from all we share
One beat away from all this pain
One beat away, I can't remain.

Let my memory stay with you.
Ah! sweet love, I say adieu.

Slow

Knew you'd be here tonight
So I put my best dress on
Boy I was so right
Our eyes connected
Now nothing's how it used to be
No second guesses
Track in on this feeling
Pull focus close up you and me
Nobody's leaving
Got me affected
Spun me 180 degrees
It's so electric
Slow down and dance with me
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Yeah, slow
Come on and dance with me
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Yeah, slow
Don't wanna rush it
Let the rhythm pull you in
It's here so touch it
You know what I'm saying
And I haven't said a thing
Keep the record playing
Slow down and dance with me
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Yeah, slow
Come on and dance with me
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Yeah, slow
Read my body language
Take it down, down
Slow down and dance with me
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Yeah, slow
Come on and dance with me
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Yeah, slow
Skip a beat and move with my body
Skip a beat and move with my body
Skip a beat and move with my body
Slow

Unmet Need

I know not that for which I yearn
But know my life is incomplete,
At night I lie and toss and turn
But always I meet with defeat.

Sometimes my heart will miss a beat.
I know not that for which I yearn
A malady I cannot treat
Sometimes it goes but will return.

Perhaps in due course I will learn
What I must know to be complete.
I know not that for which I yearn
Until I know I can’t compete.

So like an echo I repeat
What must I do to earn
full forgiveness for my deceit
I know not that for which I yearn.

A Poem To Be Heard

A poem to be held

a poem to be fed, with words stronger than the ancient

spirits.

Ti's a poem to be read by all.

A poem that beats the heat of temptation away.

It's power in every single word attracts the moonlight.

A poem, a light in the dark wilderness.

A poem that is just needed and leaves the audience

speechless.

A poem that comforts a sad soul.

Read to me a poem

when I'm cold.

Read it to me till I'm old.

When I'm heart broken, a poem, a love, I'd want.

A poem, a victory through lives endless battle.

A poem an epistle to mine heart, and every written word

in it is heard.

A poem, about royalty, about Kings and Queens

and how they live in luxury.

A poem, a song about sweet heavens.

Read me a poem and slow my heart beat down.

A poem with a tasty flavor, I'd want to hear.

Read me a poem that explains how Nelson Mandela

conquered his fears.

A poem that can describe how Martin Luther Kings

felt when he fought for freedom.

I long to hear it,

Therefor read me a poem,

to be heard.

On The Beat Pete

Up I rush off to work
Hello fred you look half dead and
Are you coming are you going
I could never do a double shift
(allo fred get some bed fred)
Hello steve long time no see
I like the stones still on the thieve
Bet you aint half seen some time
In your short-lived life of crime
(by the way, have you got the time ? )
On the beat pete
Wiv me size ten feet
I wander up and down the town
For me thats a treat
The beauties of the city and
Everythings sweet
For me thats a treat
cos Im on the beat pete
Swing my truncheon merrily
Try to teach the blind to see
Move a lady for a seat
Tourist find a sight to see
Mingle with the crowd
I wonder if theyre proud
Yes, that would be a treat
cos Im on the beat pete... beat pete
Hello snowball, you still drunk ?
Here have a smoke, anyone for lunch ?
A printed person of last weeks times
Seen a lot of stars and moonshine
(spare you a dime ? )
On the beat pete
Wiv me size ten feet
I wander up and down the town
For me thats a treat
The beauties of the city and
Everythings sweet
For me thats a treat
cos Im on the beat pete
Swing my truncheon merrily
Try to teach the blind to see
Move a lady for a seat
Tourist find a sight to see
Mingle with the crowd
I wonder if theyre proud
Yes, that would be a treat
cos Im on the beat pete... beat pete
Hello bun been down the oven ?
Whats the rate for a single person ?
Is it good, is it sad ?
You look unhappy it must be bad
Hello may been a busy lady
All work and no time for play
Still its the life you chose I suppose
Good luck to you come what may !
Skip-a-di-do-da-days !
On the beat pete
Wiv me size ten feet
I wander up and down the town
For me thats a treat
The beauties of the city and
Everythings sweet
For me thats a treat
cos Im on the beat pete
Swing my truncheon merrily
Try to teach the blind to see
Move a lady for a seat

Last Descending Overtones

With each descending step I hear the beat
of sacrificial chants of those who know.
The stone is cold and grey beneath my feet.

The pungent smell is damp and bittersweet.
Within these halls the music seems to flow,
with each descending step I hear the beat.

The altar room is secret and discrete,
with eerie chants that truly seem to grow.
The stone is cold and grey beneath my feet.

Author notes -
Villanelle:
A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme:
aba aba aba aba aba abaa.
The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines) .
Form Resource: shadowpoetry.com

My wrists are bound, a feeling of defeat,
a severed heart to feed the gods libido.
With each descending step I hear the beat.

My time has come this act will not repeat,
I hear the chants and see the lamps aglow.
The stone is cold and grey beneath my feet.

My heart becomes the sacrificial meat
as now my life approaches its crescendo.
With each descending step I hear the beat,
the stone is cold and grey beneath my feet.

My Poetry Has Become Prose

MY POETRY HAS BECOME PROSE

My Poetry has become Prose
I have lost my music
Nothing sings in me;
I have lost my richness of meaning
Nothing in me is not linear, flat and clear.
I have lost my poetry
And have become a writer of Prose
In pseudo Poetic Form-
There is in me no Line
That says more than itself-
I am Prose now not Poetry
And yet still secretly hoping
My inner irony will
In contradicting me
Save me.

Cool Cat

Youre taking all the sunshine away
Making out like youre the mainline - I knew that
Cos youre a cool cat
Tapping on the toe with a new hat
Just cruising - driving along like the swing king
Feeling the beat of my heart
Feeling the beat of my heart
Youre a cool cat
Coming on strong with all the chit-chat
Youre alright
Hanging out and stealing all the limelight
Messing with the beat of my heart
Messing with the beat of my heart
You used to be a mean kid
Making such a deal of life
You were wishing and hoping wand waiting to
Really hit the big time
But did it happen, happen, no
Youre speeding too fast
Slow down slow down
Youd better slow down
Slow down
You really know how to set the mood
And you really get inside the groove
Cool cat
Tapping on the toe with a new hat
Just cuising
Driving along like the swing king
Feeling the beat of my heart
Feeling the beat of my heart - yeah yeah

Insomnia & The Hole In The Universe

My brother kicked his feet to sleep
My brother kicked his feet to sleep
My brother kicked his feet to sleep
And I sang the dirge song
.
My brother never missed a beat
My brother kicked his feet to sleep, sweet feet
My brother kicked his feet to sleep
And I sang the dirge song
.
Angel, dont you have some bagels in my oven?
Lady, dont you know a man when you see one?
Crazy lady with the shiny shoes, where are you?
Kick you feet and calm the space that makes
You hollow
.
Little swamis got his bowl to eat
Little swami always walks his beat, sweet feet
Little swamis got his bowl to eat
And I sing the dirge song
.
Its amazing how they come to see
The little swami with his bowl to eat, sweet feet
The little swami only wears a sheet
And wont sing the dirge song
.
Anal, tight-assed soldier with that dogged heart
Put down your gun
We are ready to explode, we gotta take it smart
And take it slow
