Barter, Bait
BARTER, BAIT
Montezuma's tomb hides treasure hold,
or dust some Spanish pride parade would spade?
Beauty, barter bait, alluring gold,
justified atrocity crusade
conquistadors concocted. Soon, slave sold,
nation fell from grace, its customs fade.
Nothing can escape Time’s stranglehold
for what remains of Cortez' cavalcade,
white plumes, bright armour, in cold grave are laid.

Tomb or Treasure - Acrostic Sonnet
Il dépend de celui qui passe
que je sois tombe ou trésor,
que je parle ou me taise,
ceci ne tient qu’à toi –
Ami, n’entre pas sans désir... Paul Valéry
Tomb or treasure? Both hint musty hold
Of dust which when against a feather weighed
Must be found wanting - uprightness unpaid.
Beauty: barter bait, ghost lure lost gold.
Oh, no allure escapes Time’s stranglehold.
Regrets are rife. All qualities displayed
Time, heedless, turns to ashes which degrade
Reason as its season can’t enfold
Eternity, both sot and sage had sold
All precious for an extra life-line frayed,
Sold soul for sole extension core betrayed.
Unprincipled, most sleep through life's poor scold,
Regret chance dance, askance refuse, lose way -
Expect advancement, heedless, seedless st[r]ay...

Say It Bait It And Run
You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it and berate it.
You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it,
Leave and run.
How we slid to the bottom from the top.
Say it bait it and run.
Who did what to start this problem.
Say it bait it and run.
Corruption done under dirty rugs.
Say it bait it and run.
What thugs brought this to fisticuffs.
Say it bait it and run.
What party pooped their rule.
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cool and cuckoo too!
Say it bait it and run.
You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it and berate it.
You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it,
Leave and run.
Who's too cool and cuckoo too!
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cuckoo and too cool.
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cool and cuckoo too!
Say it bait it and run.
Who's too cuckoo and too cool.
Say it bait it and run.
But that cool cuckoo's no fool.
To cause what has been done!
You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it and berate it.
You can say it and run.
Say it and run.
About what's been done.
You can say it,
Leave it and run.

The fishing
Lust is the bait given by the God
To get the fish which are children.
We don’t catch fish with the bait
And instead eat the bait and forget fishing.

Lana Jane
Every boy loved her- Lana Jane,
And who could blame them? She was fair,
Of perfect form and beauty rare,
But none could have her, Lana Jane,
The fisherman’s only daughter,
And he no man to barter.
For he would take poor Lana Jane
To sea, and she would stay the boat
When harbored; thus, a dreadful moat
Would bar the way to Lana Jane,
The fisherman’s only daughter,
But he refused to barter.
In fourteen years, sweet Lana Jane,
Was never seen upon the shore
Among the boys who wanted more
Than life to see their Lana Jane,
The fisherman’s only daughter,
Whose father ne'er would barter.
The legend grew of Lana Jane,
While scores of ports, legions of ships
Claimed: “She’s aboard! ” through whispered lips,
“The rarest beauty, Lana Jane,
“The fisherman’s only daughter.
“She's yours to see. Let's barter! ”
Retort
My land is not for barter, sir
my land is not for barter, na
and there's to you ya silly foo
my land is not for barter, na
My people's not for buyin' sir
my people's not for buyin' oh
and there's your pipe for smokin', sir
my people's not for buyin', na.
They go to church o' Sunday, sure
they go to church o' Sunday sure
and I will be assurin' yer
they go to church o' Sunday, sir
They sing and praise their Maker, now
they sing and praise their Maker, now
and sure it is amazin' how
they sing and praise their Maker, how.
The grace o' God is on them, sure
the grace o' God is on them, yeh
and on their work and on their ware
the grace o' God is on them now
You voices join together, now
and every hand a fellow find
our land is not for barter, sir
and we are people not for buyin'.

On Different Missions
You may 'now' see,
What I have seen!
But that doesn't mean,
We're on the same scene...
Together.
Or ever.
You and I can not relate.
You and I are not relationship bait.
We,
You and me...
Are on different missions.
And destined to experience separate fates.
You and I can not relate.
You and I are not relationship bait.
And I am quite appalled,
By those accusations you have made.
Then try to apologize for statements laid,
Much too late.
Ones I did not appreciate.
If I recall,
You announced publicly...
How stupid I would appear,
After your expectations of my downfall.
Has time changed your mind?
Did you come here to find me,
Forgiving?
Willing to smolder in afterglow.
Hoping time spent with you,
I'd acknowledge as divine!
What missionary encouraged you to do this?
We,
You and me...
Are on different missions.
The kind that dismisses admissions late.
You and I can not relate.
You and I are not relationship bait.
You may 'now' see,
What I have seen!
But that doesn't mean,
We're on the same scene...
Together.
Or ever.
And I am quite appalled,
By those accusations you have made.
Then try to apologize for statements laid,
Much too late.
Ones I did not appreciate.
Has time changed your mind?
Did you come here to find me,
Forgiving?
Willing to play fool for you,
Again?
You and I can not relate.
You and I are not relationship bait.
Thank God.

Lost Bait
I lost my bait
Where did I bait the last time?
My loss determined I don't prevail
I'd better go back to kids' playing
Instead of fishing on shore
Calm down I know what you want
But you just lost your wording chance
And the chance to fish a whale
Sitting there worried, anguished
Maybe feared so much
But you're so strong
And I'd better be retired
I lost my bait and I don't have fishing in my mind
Leaving the young one to be worried to death

In His Fishing Expedition
in his fishing expedition
his bait is this bluff
and with gullibility
you take the bait,
swallow the hook, line and sinker
i say
baby you have not yet learned the intricate art of the spies
those who are still not captured by the enemies
in the middle of their yards
take the bait
and put it back to the sea
you must learn how to fish too
in this expedition of lies and deception
take the shape of the mythical mermaid
swim like a slimy fish but sing like a beautiful woman.

The Fish Hook
My father
holding fish-hook
hooking bait
throwing of it to sea
in that bridge
its angle line is moving quickly
big fish eating bait
in its fish-hook
or only crab
making a fool of bait
in its fish-hook
or chance
which is making a fool
of him'self

Man defies God
Orgasm is the bait; mating is fishing.
Birth is the catch; it’s the God’s wish.
Orgasm is the bait; orgasm is the catch.
Birth is outcast; it’s man’s crush.

Satan's Lures
Satan loves the sport of fishing.
His tackle box filled with bait,
he goes out to the lake of life
to cast his line, and wait.
The devil knows us, every one
and knows which lures to use.
In accordance with our weaknesses
he determines which to choose.
Dishonesty, pornography,
pride, selfishness and hate.
False witness, greed, the list goes on.
The sin becomes the bait.
Many bite and are deceived.
And in a snap they're hooked.
They learn too late that Satan's bait
is not as it had looked.
It's important that we choose the right
for this life is our test;
and when we choose to do what's right
we truly will be blessed.
So feed on Heavenly Fathers words.
Great blessings will be yours,
as you watch and pray, and stay away
from Satan and his lures.

Lonely Poets
Lonely poets submit lonely poems
Like their dogs and their exes
When your a redneck like me
We fish and we hunt,
Looking to hunt
When the old lady lets us
So check this out, I fished instead and caught a memory,
She never had seen even bait.
I told her for shark we needed mammals and such
We had a talk
She said it smelled like pure t hell
I said what the heck my chittlings turned green
So let's use them for bait or with asses to mate
Give it up for my long ear girl
, Shark bait is cheap and so is road kill
The Lure
“WHAT bait do you use,' said a Saint to the Devil,
When you fish where the souls of men abound?'
'Well, for special tastes,' said the King of Evil,
'Gold and Fame are the best I've found.'
'But for common use?' asked the Saint. 'Ah, then,'
Said the Demon, 'I angle for Man, not men,
And a thing I hate
Is to change my bait,
So I fish with a woman the whole year round.'

At The Fishing Village
life is simple here
and i learn a lot
first, i put the bait
on the hook,
got an earth
worm
wriggling
attractive inside
the green
water
i throw the line
a fish
catches
the bait and
it is caught
i cook what i catch
and have
my own fill
i get what i
deserve.

Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton
For years he fished in the nearby lake,
but the fish would never take his bait.
So he baited his hook with crusty-bread,
but even that didn’t turn their head.
He changed the bait to a lump of cheese
and thought this would tempt and tease,
but alas no bites from dusk till dawn,
so he changed the bait to boiled corn.
With no success with boiled wheat
Newton would not accept defeat.
So he put a juicy worm upon the hook,
but even this got no second look.
He cast aside his tackle and thoughts of fish,
and became a mathematician and physicist.
One sunny morning beneath an apple tree
he sat reading a book of philosophy.
From the lake a fish leaped high above his head,
but an apple fell down and hit him instead.
He looked up for the fish and it fell onto his lap,
so he ate the apple and put the fish back.

As Time Slips By - Acrostic Sonnet
As time sleeps by love’s tide [s]weeps sluggard, cold,
Slow beats heart's flow, forgets dreams' heats once sought.
Then, fragile, faith wraith cobwebs spins, sins caught
In Time’s equation web. Where once soul bold
Made music wild, filed, passion dims, short-sold.
Existence pales, stales, fails, - loves tales abort -
Sheds goals, gaols aims at joys ‘chance’ might have brought -
Little cares how life’s tale may unfold.
Inspiration wanes, fears stranglehold,
Plaintive soul retreats to shell, distraught,
Second hand experiences, thought,
Buy time, dismiss love from life's centrefold.
Yawning the abyss which, biding time,
shall swallow every line and every rhyme.

Passed By
As time drifts by Love’s tide flows coward, cold,
Slow beats sad heart, lost far from dreams once sought.
Too little lust, - blades rust, in cobwebs caught -
In time fires dim which once, in times of old,
Moved untamed ecstasy, flame bold.
Existence paled until encounter brought
Potency restored, fresh friendship taught
A focus fresh, let energies unfold.
Some dreams remain, most vain, in stranglehold
Spirit stifled, struggle not as thought
Experience leaves feelings dulled, distraught,
Dismisses soul from life's bright centrefold.
But chance encounter sets in timeless motion
Yen to advance, to share inspired emotion...

The Embargo
When private faith and public trust are sold,
And traitors barter liberty for gold;
When fell corruption, dark, and deep, like fate,
Saps the foundation of a sinking state;
Then warmer numbers glow through satire's page,
And all her smiles are darken'd into rage;
Then keener indignation fires her eye,
Then flash her lightnings, and her thunders fly!

The Obviousness Of You doing This
It must to you feel great,
To create an opposition.
Then to bait others...
To help keep it faked.
It does,
Doesn't it?
It has to.
The obviousness of you doing this,
Shows with a glow upon your face.
And those you have chosen to oppose,
Only play along as an added hobby.
Knowing it is your disgrace and not theirs,
You can not easily erase.
When the act of yours is traced.
And you are left without explanation.
It must to you feel great,
To create an opposition.
Then to bait others...
To help keep it faked.
It does,
Doesn't it?
It has to.
But it is your fate,
Tossed away.
With no escaping,
From the damage you make to fake...
An opposition!
