i have a dream
i hold onto it tenaciously
because it inspires hope
and optimism, an infectious
spirit to life, an eagle clawing
onto a tree to stand tall and steady
a fountain of fire burning in the sky
i hold onto to the dream like
a cup of fragrant tea or
piping hot coffee first thing
in the morning, warming up
the constituents for the
the adventures of the day
when the pulsating ray of the sun
sets free the spirits of a bird
to sing, to fly, to hop, to peck for the
worms in the fields
if i should fail, i say i have to
fail handsomely, i have to fall in style
with a smile on the face
and a hip hop dance to send away the blues

My Own Belief
there is always a time to change
everything is changing
you are not an exception, sort of saying
this corollary
there is always hope,
every rain in our hair is hope itself
every darkness in our eyes
is hope in the making
the pain inside is hope speaking well enough
everything hopes the wrong way perhaps
looking for what makes us happy
which is not really the
thing
don't think about it, keep moving,
and when tired,
sleep, dream,
dream of bridges with flood beneath it
you are on top of the situation
invent wings, and claws and be any kind of bird
settle down
and be a stone for the night
there is always this transformation
because hope is there
there is always change making changes
you just fail to understand
this body, is not your body, it is not yours,
this soul is not yours,

When there is no bright sun shining
when saddened words have just been said
when you find no sense in wonder
when all those tears have been full shed
when your path seems pointless forwards

From despair to a gleam of hope
I wrote this poem to dream of hope...........
Hope is a candle in my dark
At night he is the sparkling stars
Hope is my eternal dream
In the day he's my sunbeam
Hope so special - makes my life

Whatever Shall Come
I drink my coffee early in the morn
and await what the day will bring.
The not knowing or planning ahead
is always an anxious thing.
But whatever shall come I tend to think
is what I'm sure I need.
I approach each hour thoughtfully
and slowly I proceed.
Will this be the same as yesterday?
I really hope it's not.
For to repeat the same old, same old
makes me think I've got
no new adventures to excite me,
no new people to meet,
no new adventures to lure me,
no new problems to defeat.
So I drink my coffee slowly
and anticipate my day
with the hope of no routine
for that's monotony's way.
That would send my spirits down.
I'd like to kick my heels up.
I'd like to do the town.
But that s for dreamers
and maybe that is me.
