Starting Point To Hearts Of Men

the sky is a sacred place
where the mind of god
rests upon that of humanity

it is the place where
good poems are created
line by line, verse by verse

a storm never brews here
because of the sky
but the clouds, winds and sun

to know the workings
of the clouds, winds and sun
is to know the sky of intelligence

the place where every verse
is strewn to the steps of nature,
written to the laws of reason
and the desires of hearts

the sky is a sacred place
the meeting point of god
and humanity
the starting point to the hearts
of men

Try It

(clarke / hicks / nash)
Travel by the silver line
To a place that has no time.
Why dont you try it now?
Working hard to see the light,
Let your mind take up in flight.
Why dont you try it now?
Its beautiful, seeing all the colors of the rainbow,
Beautiful, covering the people that we know.
See the color of health
Flowing from your older self.
Why dont you try it now?
Living good, stopped playing games,
Traveling the astral planes.
Why dont you try it now?

I Sit Away

Verse:
Who says the sea can't move in winter
Or clouds stand still in a storm
Who says a man can't cry
And be lonely
Who says a man can't tend to be bored
And if you could see inside my heart
You would see loneliness
And if I could show you my mind
You would be depressed
Chorus:
Said I sit away lonely
And I get away only in my mind
Said I sit away lonely
And I get away sometimes
Verse:
So I gather my things
And be on my way
Into my lonely place
Said I'm feelin' lonely and lonesome
And I just need to get away
And if you could know what I'm afraid of
You would be frightened
And if you could feel the pain that
I'm feelin'
Then you would know why

Music

Verse 1
As far back as I recall.
You have played a major part.
Inspired me to see my place in life.
You give me reason to create.
Verse 2
Every day is brand new.
There's something you've introduced
And you have touched me in those places,
that no one but you can reach.
Chorus
You take me to this high, I feel like I can fly.
The melodies you send me (ladadadadadadada)
The music in my heart, the music in my mind,
the music in my soul the music in me.
Verse 3
Now here I am at this place.
I've tried to get to all my life.
Where I can show you all my love so much,
so many people we can touch.
Verse 4
I won't disappoint you.
Show me the world, I'll go with you.
No limitations to our journey,
please help me be all I can be.
Chorus (3 times)
Vamp
I've been in love with you, with you all my life.
Through everything it's been just you and I.
You know my true thoughts, what is deep inside.
You allow me to interpret them through you (ohhhh).

Free verse

I want to write always in free verse
In free verse there is no pressure.

I do not want to keep any goal
I really do not want any roll
I also do not want to play any role.

I want to see this earth free from hunger
Free from poverty and I do not want to
keep anybody within an artificial boundary.

I want to write always in free verse
I want to move freely from place to place
To see people in various glaze.

Place In Line

Im living in this line
I know my place, could think of no way
Of edging along in a losers race
The line was moving slowly
Day by night
Everybodys shuffling on to keep a place in the line
Nine long years Ive been in line
Getting nowhere there is no reason
For this line I dont care.
Everybodys standing in the burning sun
Everybodys shuffling on keeping a place in the line
Dont you think were gonna make it
Weve got a place in line
Were gonna make it some time
Somehow

Foolish Beat

Verse 1:
There was a time when
Broken hearts and broken dreams
Were over.
There was a place where
All you could do was
Wish on a four leaf clover.
But now is a new time
There is a new place
Where dreams just cant come true.
It started the day when I left you
Chorus:
I could never love again the way that I loved you
I could never cry again like I did when I left you
And when we said goodbye,
Oh the look in your eyes
Just left me beside myself without your heart
(without your heart)
I could never love again now that were apart
Verse 2:
When I was sorry
It was too late to turn around (turn around)
And tell you so.
There was no reason
There was no reason
Just a foolish beat of my heart.
Chorus
Bridge:
Oh, cant you see Im not fooling nobody
Dont you see the tears are falling down my face
Since you went away
Break my heart, you slipped away
Didnt know I was wrong
Never meant to hurt you now youre gone
I could never love again now that were apart.
(now that were apart)
I could never love again now that were apart.

Verses From God

I’m just the pen; God is the ink, Who fills me as I write and think,
And God’s ink never runs dry, as it flows from His Spirit on high.
Penning verse that never ends, as He talks to a world of friends,
As I go to God in prayer, He pens down each blessing and care.

In a trial God helps me through, He pens verse to share with you,
And the blessing He brings my way, as He helps me, day to day.
As I write every word and line, I do not claim the verses as mine,
For as the pen to page is pressed, it is my heart that is blessed.

Blessing seem to come my way, as He helps me, in what to say,
To illustrate to all those who read, that Jesus is The Lord indeed.
His Words just seem to flow, not knowing where His idea will go,
But His point He makes every time, as God speaks on each line.

He draws from deep inside, my heart, where His Scriptures hide,
Always used at the proper place, to pen down a verse of Grace.
And as the page begins to fill, it is not my poem, but God’s will,
That fills lines with His Word, which some who read, never heard.

It’s God above who fills my pen, with words for the eyes of men,
By means of only poetic verse, to claim victory, over sin’s curse.
The page is filled by God above, with true examples of His Love,
Penning Truth for men to see, He’s a God who loves you and me.

On The Floor

[verse]
The bed gives
Cupboard might break underneath you
Hard as I try
The table might shake
Could break a leg when I do what I do
I'm all about mine

[chorus]
Consider the love we made
When pleasure can be found
In and all around
The right place is on the floor
Why don't we get down on the floor
I won't leave you wanting for more
If we get down on the floor
On the floor

[verse]
Comfortable spot
When I get you hot
A place to lay your head
Was it Socrates who said
Good to the last drop

Free Fall

[Verse:]
Mirror Mirror
How far will I go?
Despite the foundation I am falling
Sweet reflection
Will you save a place for me?
Where am I heading?
Could you grant me a haven?
For what?
I am punished could I ever repent?
Mother Nature, I'm wide open
Waiting for you to move me
Don't keep it from me
This is a free fall
[Chorus:]
I never seem to understand
The time, the place and who I am
Define a way to stay alive
It's like I'm living a lie
[Verse:]
Father time every time I stop and feel
You're there to tell me I'm already late

A literary affair

A literary affair
~
We dance in metaphors
A familiar verse
Seducing through lines
We wrap up high imagery
Pleasing the eye of the mind
We flaunt and tease
Play wicked games with words
We do as we please
Upon the pages of books
Where we throw ourselves
Into a casual comfort
We lie, play pretence
Say words were afraid to
All in a secret place
Found at the end of a pen
There written between each line
We are revealed, lovers
Fully entwined together
In a rich dance of verse
We are guilty of a literary affair

Pumpin

Chorus:
You gotta keep it pumpin. (x4)
Verse one (tamika):
I went out looking for a good place,
But everywhere I went was dull.
I went here, and I went there,
But I never found the stuff.
But then I met this boy that said
He had the perfect place,
That I would just love, yeah.
He took me in,
Ooh, let me tell you girlfriend,
The place was jumping,
And it was sho nuff pumpin.
Repeat chorus
Verse two (kandi):
I found my spot,
Nothing about the place seemed dull.
And the stuff I was looking for,
I found the stuff.
The sound was hot, like I never heard before,
The bass was booming,
There were people all over the dance floor.
Then I met another guy,
And he asked me would I like to dance,
He showed me steps I never seen before.
I walked in,
Ooh, let me tell you girlfriend,
The place was jumping,
And it was sho nuff pumpin.
Repeat chorus
Thats the way I like it,
I like it when its pumpin.
(repeat x4)
Outro by jd:
If you got a groove that you like and you like it a lot,
Pump it up, pump it up.
You know the place with the bass,
In the neighbourhood hot spot,
Pump it up, pump it up.
To the girl in the blue,
Tell me what cha gonna do,
Pump it up, pump it up.
And to the negro in red tell me what I said,
Pump it up, pump it up.
Repeat chorus to fade

The Place

There is a place
In my heart that still dances
A place in my soul that sings
- And sings, and dances and dances -
A place so deep, so set
A place that even the mundane drudgery
The routine day-to-day
Can not kill
A place so close, so distant
A place that was, and is yet to come
A place where belief originates and lives
The birth place of
The most human humanity
The most divine divinity
A place where
Majesty, mystery and magic still speak
A place of all origins.

Some will not hear it any longer.
But, I still listen...
Waiting... hoping... trusting...believing...
The Place... is real.
It's way out there - it's everywhere...
It is ever within.
This Place... is my place.
It has called to me by name
Since the day of birth,
It's name is simple and profound;
I call him
Jesus.
He calls me
'My child.'
It's to him we go.
It's for us he came.
He is where I belong.
I am always on the Way
To the Place
Where he is.
The Place... home.

Why I Write?

My child you ask me why

And so I give a sure reply

The reason why I write you ask?

I do so to unveil a mask -

To state a claim my dear

And dry these noble tears at last

The reason why I write

Is to be free -

As that young lad's kite

To flee from charmless grips

And stray from harm's lustful flight

You ask me why I write today?

I do so that you go away!

To a place, within my space

That way I'll have a worthy say

I write my dear to tell a tale

Of places that I once had sailed

The promises that were never had

The eluded dreams that made me sad

The reason why I write a verse

Is to soothe this soul I thought was cursed

To trod with care through lonely roads

And pray my troubles be reversed

The reason why I write to you

Is so you ‘ll see my point of view

That in all things, there is a verse

A spring that takes away all thirst

On Not Writing a Poem

and sometimes I’m sitting, quiet,
wondering whether a poem somewhere
would like to speak through me
and it doesn’t

but the stillness as I wait -
that’s good.

Then just occasionally, when
I’m not visited by a poem,
I visit – without planning - Poetry.

It’s a place without a name
where many things meet:
there’s space, and hope,
and possibility, and, out of the present,
a future growing..
and something that’s not less, or
not less bright, than gold;

where all the poems that have been written
mix on friendly terms with those
that are yet to come;

with a sense of company, humanity,
very undemanding, and what Pooh Bear
would call, Everybody Listening…

and there’s no claim, no need
to write about I Was There
and Experienced This, and do you wish
you had too, and here’s my name
so modestly after a line space

and it’s very refreshing, even
reassuring in its way. Maybe
if we were back in, oh, Greek times?
I would wash, put on a white robe,
take a sweet cake, some oil, some wine, an olive branch,

walk slowly up to the temple,
tap the road dust off my sandals,
then between the cool pillars,
place the offering at the feet
of the golden goddess; silent
somewhere between thanks
and praise and the place called prayer;

and then I’d return home, peaceful
as if blessed. A more poetic image? Perhaps
it’s the same place: the mind
was there, the body’s here.

It’s good. You were there too.

One Hand, One Heart.

Verse 1:
Come with me,
To a place where
All is free
No one to tell you what to do,
How to tell me your feelings
Just, pure honesty...
Verse 2:
I know that,
If we were
Given space
Baby wed find our place
Together
But people get in the way
cause they dont understand.
Chorus:
All alone.....
I want to be
All alone.....
Sharing my heart, my home
In your arms
All alone.....
No people and no telephone,
Just you and i.....
One hand, one heart.
Verse 3:
How can you
Sit around taking
In the view
While people tell you
What to do
You know it aint right.....
Use your mind
Leave the whole world behind.....
Theyre only temporary friends
Your happiness depends on you.
Chorus
Bridge:
Everyone has their own opinions
Well everyone knows what to do.
Just look around and keep your eyes wide open this time
If theyre in love would they listen to you?
Lets share our heart, a home in your arms
All alone.....
No people and no telephone,
Just you and i.....
One hand, one heart.

Poetic Friend

I just met a friend on line who
complimented my poems of verse and rhyme.
He saw something in it which I can’t describe.
As if we had became one of a kind.

It was as if I had become the poetry
Instead of it coming out of me.
My poems and I became as one
As the sky with the sun.

This is a feeling which I find hard to
Put into words, like a voice which
Had never been heard,

Like the final door that has to be opened
And you have the key, that will set your
Mind and heart free.

Is there really a point in life
Where we become what we write?
Have I really gotten to such a threshold
Or is it that I’m getting old?

I guess I’m getting old!
For this is the story that I’ve been told.

Ha-ha got to love it!

Bhaji-(Chain Verse)

Chain Verse is composed in one of three ways:

1 Chain Verse is composed
with the last word or syllable of one line repeated
in the beginning of the next line.

2 Chain Verse can be stanzaic, most often written in any number of quatrains
but any stanza form will do, linked by repeating the last word of a stanza
as the first word of the next stanza.
The repetition of a word from one Verse or stanza to the next creates a chain-like link.
usually rhymed, linking rhyme as well as alternate rhyme.
often syllabic, alternating longer-shorter lines.
One example is alternating 8-7-8-7 syllables the other is alternating 6-5-6-5 syllables per line.

3 Chain Verse can be written
with the last line of the stanza repeated
as the first line of the next stanza.

Bhaji-(Chain Verse-6-5-6-5 syllables
With linking rhyme only)

I found a guava plant
Silent in a nook
Along my garden stroll
On a rainy day

Day was cool in showers
No wonder taste hyped
Picked some fresh guava leaves
Wishing for bhajis

Bhajis are many types
Of veggies and leaves
Can make tasty bhajis
Guava leaves too used

Used are gram and rice flours
With salt and chilli
Mixed in are leafy bits
And soda a dash

Dashing batter ready
When mixed with water
The center line Strung out
Dipped leaves get coated

Coated leaves then deep fried
Out from deep hot oil
Season's snack was ready
Why wait, munch said I

Sail O'Soul Sail

Once boarded why you fear o' soul
Just be watching where sails your mind
Aspiring to horizon-goal
All set on a smooth float by wind

All set on a smooth float by wind
On gentle waves across your sea
As you sail assailed by your mind
How those desires hit your heart free

How those desires hit your heart free
As of a choice in heaven's trade
That your mind is on aiming spree
In illumed dreamings in fate's shade

In illumed dreamings in fate's shade
While your sail is mid way caught up
How your sea baits in storming grade
And shocked you struggle to catch up

And shocked you struggle to catch up
For not yours but your mind's misdeed
Helpless you are jailed in lockup
Your vessel too shattered indeed

Your vessel too shattered indeed
Such is your sea of greed and lust
Such is the fate of your sea's heed
Wind too is feeling difficult

Wind too is feeling difficult
Now that the sea somewhat calms still
Wind settles in silenced cool mute
Atlast your vessel too nihil

Atlast your vessel too nihil
And sea gone in presence of Nought
You are freed atlast to your will
To board the next the way you're caught

sea-life, wind-breath, vessel-body.

The Unclouded Day

O they tell me of a home far beyond the skies
O they tell me of a home far away
O they tell me of a place where no storm clouds rise
O they tell me of an uncloudy day
O they tell me of a place where my friends
Have gone
O they tell me of that land far away
Where the tree of life in eternal bloom
Sheds its fragrance on an uncloudy day
O the land of cloudless day
O the land of an uncloudy sky
O they tell me of a place where no storm clouds rise
O they tell me of uncloudy day
O they tell me that he smiles on his children there
And his smile drives their sorrows away
And they tell me that no tears ever come again
In that lovely land of uncloudy day
O the land of cloudless day
O the land of an uncloudy day
O they tell me of a place where no storm clouds rise
O they tell me of an uncloudy day
O they tell me of an uncloudy day
O they tell me of an uncloudy day
