Rooms

we all live in hutches, rooms
familiar and unfamiliar
brightly lit, dark, mysterious
unknown and gloomy
they punctuate each and
every of our thoughts
our voice echoes each and
every chamber, some distinctly,
some meekly, some warmly
some coldly, some lost between
winding dark and lit corridors

we choose to dwell in
reassuring rooms but they all
soon suffocate us with drudgeries
our attention turn to those sealed,
which we love to think a divinity sits,
who makes sure we follow through
every word of his scripts written in
the light of every chamber sealed
with the spirit of our breaths

Dark and Light

Here where I live it is dark.
Abide within and it is dark.
Sinister beings dwell in the dark.
Seeing is not possible in the dark.
They are Dark.

Cavort about in the dark.
Come and surround in the dark.
Laugh and howl in the dark.
See them not, hear them yet, here in the dark.
They are Dark.

Not always do I live in the dark.
Comes a time without the dark.
Sinister beings exists in the dark.
Cannot survive without the dark.
They are Dark

When it is not dark,
And it is not always dark.
Beings of warmth pierce the dark.
Crack and splinter the dark.
They are Light.

Then sometimes I live in the light
Warm and safe in the light
Want to stay in the light.
Surrounded by life and love in the light.
They are Light

Sometimes light, sometimes dark.
In one world, than in the other.
In one, fear; love in the other.
Back and Forth, Light and Dark
I am Dark! I am Light!

Day By Day

Day by day I am in the hand, of The Father and The Son of Man,
In His hand, I’m there to stay; no one friend can snatch me away.
Even my own wandering heart, from The Lord can never depart.
For when I attempt to stray, He prods me back to the narrow way.

God sealed my fate on the day; I met Christ Jesus along the way,
Sealed for the Day of Redemption, when I accepted His Salvation.
I was sealed with The Spirit of God, to guide me every step I trod.
And sealed with God’s guarantee, that He will lead me to Eternity.

He guides my path at every turn, with a peace to ease all concern.
If there is a trial around the bend, sufficient Grace God shall send.
God’s promises are tried and true, what He says I know He will do,
So I depend on Him along the way, as I travel life’s path every day.

And whenever I am about to fall, I remember He is The Lord of all,
He strengthens my feeble knees, and fills my heart with His peace.
And this peace from His Grace, He bestows on me in every place.
It is the Grace that I received, when in Christ Jesus I had believed.

Ahead dark times are sure to come, so I will follow God’s Only Son.
For Christ is the only sure Light, through the darkness of the night.
He is aware of all my trials too, and He will surely see me through.
The Grace He sent to set me free, will guide me home to Eternity.

Convoy of Doubt

Have I sealed my fate?
As I write these words
a wretched burden
overlooks the page.

Have I sealed my fate?
I'm almost wary to
write another word.
Or is it too late?

Have I sealed my fate?
Every word I write
seems to come true,
brought to life in some way.

Have I sealed my fate?
I think I should stop
writing anything,
lest it be profane.

My Dark Dreams

I'm in the dark
And I'm lost
In my mind, screaming
Through the empty
Space, filled with no light
All I hear is my echo

I listen and hear the echo
Of silent breaking through the dark
Nothingness that consumes any light
That I don't see, in this lost
Place of empty
Dreaming, in which I scream

Soon as it stops, the screaming
High painful cry, and the echo
Fades, leaving me again in the empty
Hallow thoughts of my dark
Sleep, and wander through my mind lost
Of what I had, it was my light

What I had was like a warm light
That held me from the bitter screaming
Of the cold, it found me when I was lost
It covered me like a blanket, and echoed
Through my soul, with it I was never in the dark
And never left empty

Now, in my sleep, I am empty
The warm blanket of hte light
No longer holds me, but exposes me to the dark
And painful piercing screams
Of my own voice echoing
In my nightmares of what I've lost

I am lost
In the emptiness
Of my own pain, that echoes
Through me, and all I want again is the light
For it I scream
In my dreams, but all I get in the dark

I dream of the dark and I'm lost
My screaming is only heard by the empty
Space in my mind, where light shined, but there is only echo.

By God

By God, we were sealed, when we were spiritually healed,
Sealed by The Savior Himself, His seal appears in stealth,
To all outside of Jesus Christ, but we’re sealed in this life,
In a New Life, God will reveal, in all, marked with His Seal.

By God, we were saved, when sinfully lost and depraved,
Saved by His Spirit above, through God’s wonderful love,
It was God, who loved us first, when we were at our worst,
In spite of how we behaved, by His Grace we were saved.

By God, we were sought, as new creations being wrought,
While we were not seeking Him, truly lost in a world of sin,
He not only found all of us, but, led us to The Lord Jesus,
By Whom, we were bought, saving all who He had sought.

By God, we were redeemed, unbelievable it really seemed,
Yet He bought us on earth, imputing to us His Son’s worth,
It is The Lord’s Righteousness, that God has granted to us,
His Righteousness is what beams, from those He redeems.

The Spirit’s seal is our guarantee, that we shall live eternally,
Saved out of this world of sin, God’s Spirit now lives within,
It was God Who sought His own, from His Heavenly Throne,
Redeeming men, in this life, to live forever with Jesus Christ.

I will follow you into the dark (death cab for cutie lyrics)

Love of mine some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black
And I held my toungue as she told me
'Son fear is the heart of love'
So I never went back

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
Cause we'll hold each other soon
The blackest of rooms

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Night Ride

Night Ride

The sun lights only to trail dark
Like this car lighting to trail dark
Along its night ride

I turn back to count the gone days
I've lived so far in breathed lighting
Just to find nothing

Dark and dark alone, nothing else
I doubt I lived atall ever
Mired mind tired musing

Bends and turns hit the journey on
Trailing still the car dark behind
Sealed with odds and ends

I gaze at the forerunning light
Waiting for the heavenly arc
To sweep it away

Corridors Of Her Soul

Eyelids drooping
The peacefulness of her surroundings
Combined with the cool autumn air
As she sits under their favourite tree
Has placed a spell on her
Sleeping in a pool of tranquillity

Floating through the corridors of her mind
She sees a familiar silhouette
From her not so distant past
Moving toward her
His voice, reassuring as a soft breeze
How she loves when he says her name

A sense of inner calmness has come over her
Awakening from her dream
His silhouette leaning over her
To remove an unruly lock of hair from her brow
Holding out his hand
Gently pulling her to stand in front of him

Circumstances kept them apart
His face as handsome as before
His eyes deep dark pools
Rhythmic heart beats
As they cling to each other
Afraid to let go
Their love more intense than before
Forgiveness and a new beginning

Shared Loneliness

A house is empty if you're alone.
Its rooms are too quiet for it's known
loneliness too, just like you.
It echoes with hollowness
and creaks with despair
for the lone figure it houses
has no one to share
its rooms.

It hears the steps of the solitary one.
It hears the sighs that weigh like a ton
on its floors and walls
where the sadness crawls.
It longs to be filled
with conversational tones
filling up its rooms.

The bedroom is lonely
and the living room too.
The kitchen has a setting for one
and only one cup of coffee to brew.
These rooms can house all of the pain
that lonesomeness brings and still remain
loyal to the one who's alone.

House Of Many Rooms

The sound of the clock ticking
How this old house creeps
Another storm tonight approaches
So restless I can't sleep
Dark filled big long rooms
Portrait of a lady in view
Corridor that never seems to end
From a distance I thought I seen you
House Of Many Rooms
The sound of heavy rain falling
Feelings sourround of another place
An oval mirror hangs on the wall
And there I thought I seen your face
The smell of wild flowers
A gentle breeze blows from outside
Heavy laced dark curtains
A vision of you before my eyes
House Of Many Rooms

Where Your Road Leads

(written by victoria shaw and desmond child)
I believe in miracles
I believe in signs
And I believe that mountains move
One prayer at a time
If I could be an angel
Id make your every wish come true
But I am only human
Just a woman
Lovin you
Where your road leads
I will follow
When your heart bleeds
Ill be there for you
When your night grows dark
And you cant find your tomorrow
Then you can follow me
Someday well look back and see
Our footprints in the sand
Sometimes you would carry me
And sometimes youd be in my hands
If we can love forever
That wont be long enough for me
I want to hold you tender
Be your shelter
All you need
Where your road leads
I will follow
When your heart bleeds
Ill be there for you
When your night grows dark
And you cant find your tomorrow
Then you can follow me
Oh, we can be each others guiding light
Through this long and winding life
Where your road leads
I will follow
When your heart bleeds
Ill be there for you
When your night grows dark
And you cant find your tomorrow
When youve lost sight of your dreams
Then you can follow me

After Reading Keats

Down his great corridors of sumptuous sound
Today I wandered once again. Each word
Seemed like the lyric rapture of a bird
Singing in Spring a-bove the burgeoning ground.
O once again that old delight I found,
Once more the marvel of his voice I heard,
Until my spirit with new joy was stirred,
Hearing such music through his halls resound.
How beautiful thy palace, Poet blest!--
That room wherein is set thy Grecian Urn,
Thy Nightingale that sings at set of sun
Out in thy garden where my tired feet turn;
And in one chamber, back from his long quest,
That passionate lover, young Endymion!

The Gospel, The Dharma, And The Breath

the darkened streets
haunt and whisper,
lights come and go,
eternity breaks the glass.

and right and wrong,
frozen on the ground...
smokestacks, abandoned cars,
vacant buildings ran by rats.

the hungry hand,
the mouth of poverty.
the addict's needle,
the body in the alley.

the woman beaten,
her face blackened and bloody.
the click of the hammer
on an empty chamber.

and the houses beckon,
with lighted rooms
where shadows move in
a most familiar way.

the smell of food,
and the warmth contained...
never quite reaching
the children sleeping

in the back of the car.
the churches gone dark,
no sound, no action.
down the street the bars

light up the night.
at a corner table,
he sits alone with a drink...
and a book he just opened...

he writes with a pen,
sure that no one can see:
we are the gospel,
we are the dharma...

we died on the cross,
we gave up our kingdoms.
we are the healers,
but the killers...

we are the medicine,
and yet the guns.
we are the hand dipped
in the infected wound...

and yet we are the giver
of that very wound...
both the breath of Satan,
and the breath of God!

from our knees we learn
the gift of flight!

My Dark

Why do I always seek the dark?
The nice wholesome dark
Never judging; never caring
Self helping dark

The dark corners of my life
These corners are my life
Where ever I go I seek
These dark corners; my corners

They make me feel secure
Feel wanted; surrounded
At peace
Like the rest of the world is gone

Why must I use the dark?
Where do these issues come from?
Where does this sorrow come from?
Why can’t I have answers?

I need these dark corners
They are so reassuring
Their echoes speak to me; they don’t mock me
They are my dark safe corners

Chat Room For Lonely People

Thoughts are the very essence

Of human existence

Even though they sometimes create discord

Whether you express them via your vocal cords

Or through your keyboard

When you are bored.

Didn't folks used to have rooms

Called drawing rooms?

But now all that is left

Is our 'privacy' of which we are bereft.

So, instead of drawing rooms

We have chat rooms

For lonely people

Who would like to chat with friendly people.

Houses

People who are afraid of themselves
Multiply themselves into families
And so divide themselves
And so become less afraid.

People who might have to go out
Into clanging strangers' laughter,
Crowd under roofs, make compacts
To no more than smile at each other.

People who might meet their own faces
Or surprise their own voices in doorways
Build themselves rooms without mirrors
And live between walls without echoes.

People who might meet other faces
And unknown voices round corners
Build themselves rooms all mirrors
And live between walls all echoes.

People who are afraid to go naked
Clothe themselves in families, houses,
But are still afraid of death
Because death one day will undress them.

Where Love Glows

Where love glows warmly from within,
God's Spirit's welcomed there,
Such that each heart can turn from sin
And shine beyond compare...
For love glows like a furnace flame,
It brings both heat and light
And those who love can't stay the same,
For they must do what's right.

It like their hearts are filled with love,
With Christmas joys and more!
God's gifts and grace will prove enough
For those who would stay pure...
Consider rainbows in the sky
That cast dark clouds away!
Or dazzling dolphins leaping high
To celebrate each day!

Where love glows warmly from within,
It melts away the past,
Such that each lives new souls to win
Till Heaven comes at last...
Let God's love kindle broken hearts,
Reborn to live anew...
For truly that's when beauty starts,
With words like, 'I love you! '

Mountainhike

following smallest roads
unwinding paths
up or down hill
beautiful draped shawls
from a distance

clogged in sealed forests
disappearing light
a mountain tucked away
in the dark

breathing on rare meadows
revealing rooms
a mountain showing off
heights and depths

listening to secret brooks
whispering quietly
a mountain coming out
naturally and fluently

watching glorious views
enjoying any moment
the peak appears midway
fullest fulfillment of eternal dreams

Promises

Your promise is sound like a niece,
Upstairs the rooms are plenty,
The reward compares to Peace,
I and you are lovable and a discovery.

My complaint subdues your walls
As they crumble and thud to the floors,
Risks are many in these rooms of balls,
A craft of heaven lines the corridors.

May promises keep for some elegant time,
With love I guarantee the house no grime.

Dark and Gloomy

Gloom speaks in super ways,
It rides into a closet, and disappears.
Gloomy and dark, the room appears to lie
In a room, too dark and dank.
In superb manners the wife of a dangerous man
Spoke to me about the gloom,
Spoke to me of the pain in her marriage.
She visited this room for a passerby,
This chamber exposed the rain outside,
I entered the graveyard and saw the dangerous man
With his wife alongside me.
I saw gloomy nights before,
But this was a time of evil.
