Nicknames

nicknames are thrown
around in my family;
our own terms of endearment
word could not describe.
it is that closeness
towards each other
through words that evoke
a special experience
with a brother or sister
or just a plain description of
his uniqueness.
a brother is called La Ting
because of his bald head when a
baby.
eldest brother is labelled Ming
instead of his real name Thai
because of his intelligence
when a child.
Ming means clear-minded.
Another is called Lung
instead of Ing because of his
Chinese horoscope sign dragon
which in Mandarin is Lung.
mom's favourite animal sign
is dragon so the name sticks.
youngest brother is Bee,
my own spontaneous invention
when I saw the cute little child
in mom's hands many years back.
I am so glad and proud
that this is the only creation
in my life that has been used
for so long and that it
has surprisingly given
brother all the good luck;
he turns out to be a bank's manager.
he should have me to thank
for all his fortune.
another brother is called Chi
instead of his real name Kui.
i could not fathom the
reason for this and wonder
which brother first started
calling him that.
eldest sister is Pui
instead of Hua because
of her plumbness when a baby.
and oh dear, we are naughty
when it comes to our neighbours.
many of them have secret nicknames
coined from the way they
talk, walk, and even look
and we really hope they would
never ever find out these names.
Our family just bubble in
our neighbourhood because of
our incessant inner creative jest
to coin all those secret words.
perhaps, we are nicknamed too
which we never
bother about because
we know nicknames are
given out of endearment.
at least, that is the case with us.

All My Brothers

I walk with my brother the Christian,
But I do not believe as he, I am not his Christian brother.
I walk with my brother the Jew,
Not born to his name, I am not his brother.
I walk with my brother the Muslim,
Infidel to him, he does not call me his brother.

They know only their god, not one that I can know.

I walk with my brother the Hindu.
We are love and all are one.
I walk with my brother the Buddhist
He has known me in our past family
I walk with my brother the Taoist
We are on this path but for a moment.

They know god and I am he.

I walk with my brother the Shaman,
He sees the animal spirit within me.
I walk with my brother the Pagan,
He knows only the nature from which we come.
I walk with my brother the Tribesman,
He finds my place with his people.

They know of god in everything.

I walk with my brother the deer
He watches me with curiosity
I walk with my brother the crane,
He wonders if I can catch him.
I walk with my brother the serpent,
He sees me as warmth.

They know nothing of God.

The Blood That Binds...

More than the blood of my blood. He is my friend,
my rock...my brother.

Brother, in times of need, never judging, always there.

My Brother, could, would, always make things right.

Brother, never made much ado, about the task at
hand...he just did it.

Brother, who lifted me, when I was down.

Brother, who brought the laughter, amid the pain.

Brother, the word he never spoke...was 'no'.

Brother, who had the answers, to my questions.

Brother, who by example, did walk the path of right.

Brother, in all my years...in all my life, never have
I met another...like my loving brother.

Brother To Brother Hymn

Brother to brother
I know that I can always coun on you
Because you are my brther
And I am your brother also
Brother to brother
Your life is different than mine
You live in Brazil
I live in Canad a country that is more advanced in technology
Brother to brother
I will pray for you
Eventhough you don't believe in God
Brother to brother I will email you more frequently
Brother to brother I will sing you a song
Brother to brother I hope the saints will go to Sao paulo and watch you While you are sleeping

For Bill - My Brother

Who was aged five when I was born
My brother
Who hid my toys and broke my dolls
My brother
Who avoided his sister at school all day
My brother
Who tolerated my teenage years
My brother
Who as an adult became a friend
My brother
Who mellowed with each passing year
My brother
Who supported my desire to immigrate
My brother
Who was there when others weren't
My brother
Who buried our parents while I was gone
My brother
Who cherished every visit I made
My brother
Who had his ticket to visit me here
My brother
Who unexpectedly died this year
My brother

Final Letter: Farewell

Eldest Sister (jiejie)
------

My dear eldest sister, my dear eldest sister,
Your name meant 'precious' in Chinese, and precious you were.
You were beautiful, beautiful in a natural, elegant way.
You were intelligent, and beautiful, benevolent too.

I remembered when we used to smile,
Whilst making up fun songs,
Or cooking a wonderful cake.

Elegant, beautiful, and precious,
I looked up to you, I loved you,
Brother did too... He loved you too...
I wish you could have recognized that....
I wish you could have recognized that before you....
Before you cut your own string....
You used your own string, and used it to hang yourself...

Eldest sister, oh eldest sister - why?
Why? You were loved,
You were beautiful, you were precious...
But, I cannot inquire now...
It's too late,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
I'm sorry I could not prevent your man-made fate...

Eldest Brother
----

Eldest brother, or dearest brother...
I never got a chance to see you,
I never got a chance to catch your name,
But those facts never prevented me from loving you as if you were still here.

Sister used to talk about you in such a venerable manner.
You were a wonderful man...
You sinned yes, but that didn't prevent any one's love for you
Even now your care for us...

You forced me to forget you,
To spare pain... But, I will never forget your love...

Eldest brother, I wonder...
I wonder what it'd be like to meet you in the flesh...
I wonder why God decided your fate....
Why did he decide your fate to be hit by a drunkard?

Cry

Our fire will rise
Ringmaster's eyes
Funhouse will rock
Those boys don't lie
Immortal fear
It's voice so clear
Through broken walls
Your screams I hear
Cry little sister
Come, come to your brother
Unchain me sister
Love is with your brother
Clown masquerade rich boys look up
When will they learn
This loneliness?
Temptation's heat
Milenko's word
Deep in your soul
You cannot lie
Come, come to your brother
Unchain me sister
Love is with your brother
Our shangrila
You can't forget
Always so close
Come to us now
Cry little sister
Come, come to your brother
Unchain me sister
Love is with your brother
Cry little sister
Come, come to your brother
Unchain me sister
Love is with your brother
Cry, little sister

My Brother Kuzo Freak* :) : D

My brother Kuzo Freak,
He is an awesome brother to me,
My brother is never weak,
He is always strong,
I'm graduating,
And he is staying,
But no matter what I will visit him,
But I hope he doesn't worry,
I love my brother,
Even though he's not actually my real brother,
But he may not be part of my real family,
But he is family to me and I don't care what other people say,
He's never hurting me,
Only messing with me,
Like brothers should do,
Even though he is not
Kuzo Freak will always be a brother to me! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I'M SO LUCKY TO HAVE A BROTHER LIKE HIM! A BROTHER LIKE HIM, WHO I CAN LAUGH AND TALK TO HIM ANYTIME! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHOM I CAN MAKE NEW MEMORIES WITH HIM! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHO IS ALWAYS BY MY SIDE! I AM PROUD TO HAVE A BROTHER LIKE HIM NOT BECAUSE OF HIS ACCOMPLISHMENT, BUT BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHO DOESN'T WANT ME TO CHOOSE WRONG WAYS BUT RIGHT WAYS! YES, HE IS MY ROLE MODEL! ! A BROTHER LIKE HIM WHO ALWAYS TELL'S ME WHAT IS GOOD AND NOT GOOD FOR ME! NOW HE IS FAR AWAY FROM HOME! WE ONLY COMMUNICATE VIA CELL PHONES, AND HEARING HIS VOICE MAKES ME TO MISS HIM EVEN MORE! BUT I HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE SOON HE WILL COME AND VIST! Please Come Back Home
I Wish We All Would Have Known
Brother Brother
Why Arent You Here?
You Diddnt Have Anything To Fear
Things Would Have Gotten Better
Throught This Past Painful Year
You Took Your Own Life Brother
Just Like So Many Others
Your Family Just Looks At Pictures And Has To Stare
Thats The Only Way We See You And Its Just Not Fair
We All Miss Your Big Smile
That You Had On Your Face Every Day
I Love You Sister
The Words You Said Every Single Day
I Miss The Way You HUgged Me
The Way You Would Always Be There
Now Once Again All I Do Is sit and Stare

Brother

Henry
Brother, got to sing your song
Brother, is taking us so long
For the elderly brother has raised us by his love
And to be equal is the freedom of his love
When will we realized that the skin is just a glove
To be thankful for the freedom of his love
Sister, stand up tall and proud
Sister, yell it strong and loud
I'm black and I'm proud
For no human can change the course of time
And no human creates the live in mind
So how can a man makes rules when yet he has no love
And how can a man a woman fill they are above
For an heavenly brother has raised us by his love
And to be equal is the freedom of his love
When will we realized that his skin is just a glove
And be thankful for the freedom of his love
Brother brother brother
Brother brother brother brother
Brother brother brother brother.

Confessions of a Bound Soul

Brother, my brother,
How selfish was I
While you seemed to struggle,
I sat idly by

Brother, my brother
Yes, try as I might
I now realize
It was also my fight

Brother, my brother
Now look at your arm
It's cold and immovable
Lost all its charm

Brother, my brother
Now look at your leg
There's so much left missing
Yet not once did you beg

Brother, my brother
Though I lost more in mass
It is you far more haunted
By our mistakes in the past

Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until this goes away

Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until our final day

Where was my brother

Where was my brother when I needed him there?
Does he think I don’t notice or assume I don’t care?

Where was my bother it was once him and once me?
But now at some bad times it’s him I don’t see.

Where was my brother who’s back I once had?
You were the brother to count on the good times and bad.

Where was my brother by my side he should be?
He should be right here why can’t I see?

Where was my brother when I needed him most?
Now when I look to my side all I see is his ghost.

Where was my brother did I bring shame?
Does he remember me now, does he remember my name?

Where was my brother waiting to long for his call?
So I put up a brick on my emotional wall.

Where was my brother, its his court its his ball?
Guess my brother has proved he’s no brother at all.

The Love From A Brother

Talked like besties..
Talked like friends..
In the end..
Talked like brothers and sisters..

A brother filled with love..
A brother full of joy..
A brother full of hope..
And the best is a brother full of care..

He’s amazing..
He’s wonderful..
He’s Always around…

I tell him everything..
Everything that comes into my mind…
If I was to be honest..
He is great! !

A brother should help you..
In whatever situation your in..
Starting at problems..
And finishing with Laughter..

Your Brother..
He’s a person that will understand..
A person that makes fun of you..
In a very funny way..
Which makes you giggle and laugh along..

My brother is my life..
He is my everything..
If he goes..
Then there is no-one else in this world..

But if it was me to be going..
I would make him Happy..
And keep him smiling..
Till his day comes..

I’d wished I was always with him..
Taking to him..
Going out places with him..
And more..

I wish I could live..
Like..
I was his lil sister..
Two fingers on one hand..
A real brother and sister would live..

I know that onde day..
In my life..
I will see him..
I will live like I was his little sister..

Now all I do..
Is wait..
Wait for that one day to come! !

This is how a real brother should be! !

Open Your Arms

Sitting under the money tree
look for the fruits of charity
best to pick them fast for they too far gone
they grow rotten to the core on the greedy man's farm
open your moth the words don't come out
even though the thoughts in your head seem to flow
are you so afraid what everybody thinks
are you so afraid to show what you know

to get along, with your sister your brother
get along, we all the same under this shell

brother to brother and sister to sister
and people are people and...
open your arms

monkey do monkey see
why you want to upset me
monkey go monkey say
but let me live my life today
monkey hear monkey walk
monkey you so full of talk

when are we every gonna learn
to fulfill the need to be free
feel free
be free
stand free
wont need mediocrity

brother to sister and
sister to brother and
brother to brother and sister to sister
open your arms

My brother.

My brother's so sweet
in time's of need.

my brother's so responsible
he taught me a lot of things.

my brother's so funny
we even teared from laughing.

my brother's so fierce
don't mess with him when hes angry.

my brother fell in love
and he's very very happy.

my brother made up his mind
and had a nice sweet family.

my brother is far away
i'm sad when i think of him.

but the most I love about
my brother hes always there for me
when I need him the most.

A sister. A brother.

A brother is the one who holds you as you shake in fear.
A sister is the one who looks up at you with love on her face.
A brother is the one who whipes the tears from your face and hugs you tight.
A sister is the one who tells you her deepest fears and her dreams for the future.
A brother is the one who watches as you becomes the woman you always wanted to be.
A sister is the one who fulfills her dreams with you right by her side, cheering her on.
A brother is the one who holds you through the downs and smiles through the ups.
A sister is the one who thanks you for your love and support.
A brother is the one who just smiles and says it was his pleasure.
A sister is the one who looks at you like the stars that shine.
A brother is the one who looks at you like you are his world.
A sister.
A brother.

They need each other.
